Outstanding tour! George was very responsive prior to our arrival making sure he knew all of our likes and desires of where to visit. First he picked us up in his Excursion limo stocked with water and stemware. Went to Calais Winery first. Ben the young French-American vintner lead the tasting. He's very knowledgeable. Great boutique winery and vineyard. Then we headed to William-Chris which was larger but a fabulous spot. Tara led our tasting and it was great. Last we went to Becker. It's beautiful and lots of shopping. Got a nice tour of the processing room, bottling area and barrel room. I highly recommend George Burns and his team. We will be back!! read more

Our wine tour was wonderful! We were very pleased with our choice to use George's 290 Wine Tours. Blaine was an excellent driver who attended to our needs and kept us on schedule. We were picked up and dropped off right outside of our villa. We went to three wineries and our day included a boxed lunch. My husband and I used George 290 wine tours a few years ago and had a great experience with George and recommended him to our friends & family. Fast forward to the past weekend where I attended my sisters bachelorette party. Our driver was very unprofessional. We were rushed at our wineries and we didn't get to finish our tasting at the 1st winery. Then he got into it with our wine guide at the 3rd winery when our guide asked him to take our wine to the van. We were later informed our driver has a bad reputation at some of the wineries in town. Overall we were very disappointed and will not be using this company in the future or recommending them again. This was the first time that I have ever done a wine tour in a limo and the first time that I have ever gone wine tasting in Fredericksburg. As far as experiences go it was the best that I could have asked for. The wine and food was excellent, transportation service and accommodations was exceptional, the wineries selected where top shelf, and the cost was reasonable especially for what we got. When I do this event again we will definitely call George not just for the above mentioned reasons but because George is a local to Fredericksburg with deep relationships in the community. I initially called another Fredricksburg wine tour, and they were not available on the date we needed. The owner of the tour suggested that I call George's 290. She said they had a great reputation. I decided that must be the best recommendation of all, and wow was I right. The booking was very personal and easy. We chose a Saturday, 3 winery tour with lunch. Mike picked us up downtown Fredricksburg, and 2 others were already in the stretch SUV limo. The limo was extremely nice. We went to three wineries, the first was Kuhlman. This had a wonderful food - wine pairing, which was awesome. We then went to William Chris, which was our favorite. The third was Hilmy (Dammit David was great here!). The best part of the trip was Mike our guide. I highly recommend you ask for Mike. He was INCREDIBLE!! Very attentive, informative and nice as can be. This tour was AMAZING! Our tour driver was Mike, and he went above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable. George was very helpful in getting everything organized and made sure we had was we wanted for lunch and figuring out which wineries we would enjoy. We did the tour just before New Year's and Mike was awesome at making sure we were warm enough by getting us blankets and stuff at the winery and generally that we were comfortable. This was the best part of our trip! A group of 10 ladies from my neighborhood traveled to Fredericksburg to celebrate Mother's Day and we chose George's 290 Wine Tours. George chauffeured is himself and we couldn't have been taken better care of. He arrived promptly and immediately asked to take our picture. He gave us a synopsis of what our day was going to look like and told us a little bit about each winery. We piled comfortably into his 15 passenger limo-style van and headed off. He gave us access to the radio so we could sing along to our own playlist. It was a little chilly this weekend so he was so gracious to bring us blankets and jackets from the van when requested. He is obviously well-respected in the 3 wineries we visited. He took care of everything from checking us in and making sure we left in adequate time to arrive at our next destination. He was the perfect gentleman. (A few of the ladies overheard him taking a call from his wife and were so impressed that he treated her with dignity and respect as well. AMAZING!! My friends and I had the best time during our wine tour!! George was incredibly accommodating. Every purchase we made he immediately went to put it in the limo so that we did not have to carry it around. We drank wine in the limo from winery to winery. The first winery we went to, the owner even came up to me and told me that George is the best in the business and he set us up a wonderful private tasting because George requested the best. (The owner said he does not do this for every tour group). Our group was also a bit of a rowdy group... old sorority sisters all reunited for my bachelorette party...
