Another nice experience at Augusta Vin. Our 3rd visit in about 12 months. We are at the mid-point of our visit to hill country and we knew we needed to visit Augusta Vin. We've done tastings here before and we know what we prefer, so now we just order glasses of their Merlot. We'd just come from lunch so we didn't eat anything here this time but we've enjoyed their food in the past. Our server here was quite pleasant, as they all have been each time we've been here. They do a great job of hiring and training. We look forward to our next visit to Augusta Vin.

    Bruschetta with a sparkling wine.

Nice venue but not a fan of the winery caste system here where you can't visit most parts of their winery unless a "member." We split a glass of mediocre sparkling wine and shared the bruschetta (not bad).

If you're looking for a sophisticated tasting experience in the Hill Country, Augusta Vin is a standout. The entire atmosphere is elevated. A huge shoutout to Forbes, who was a fantastic host. Having a knowledgeable and personable guide makes all the difference in a tasting. The views of the estate vineyards from the patio are absolutely stunning. It's the perfect backdrop for a slow afternoon. We sampled the small bites, and they did not disappoint. The food is clearly well-thought-out and pairs beautifully with the wines. Just a heads-up for pet owners--this winery is not dog-friendly, so you'll want to leave your furry friends at home for this one.

Amy and Greyson did an amazing job on our tour - the tasting and food pairings were delicious and the we were so impressed all around. The setting was gorgeous and made it all more magical. Excited to be an Augusta Vin member now!

Okay before I even start ask for Shay- she made our experience here amazing. It was my first winery stop ever and I am so glad I stopped by. All the samples I got were phenomenal and she was so sweet in explaining what was what and sold it for me to get a bottle of wine of my favorite the rose. I would love to come back soon! Beautiful location, amazing staff, incredible wine 10/10

During our weekend trip to Fredericksburg we had the pleasure of enjoying a production tour with Brett. He was very knowledgeable and super charismatic! He led a great tour and gave great wine recommendations! He definitely sold us on the products and we ended up going home with a few bottles! I would say Augusta Vin and a tour with Brett is a MUST when you come to visit! The winery is super cute and aesthetic! Definitely picture perfect for group, couple, or solo pictures!

This is such a beautiful winery. We had a lovely Sunday couple of hours here, had some of their bubbly, and there was a gentleman playing live music, which was a very nice touch. We got to sit upstairs in the member lounge, and the view is just gorgeous. I highly recommend this winery. The staff are very friendly, and I love all their wines, not to mention it's absolutely gorgeous here!

Best time! Went right at 11 and had no wait. Server was so kind and knowledgeable on the food and wine. The weather was awesome and love the patio seating

Went on a Friday and originally was going to sit outside but the tasting was like $40 for 5 pours but it's only $25 if you sit at the bar. After confirming there was no real difference in the wines we chose to sit at the bar. We were told you couldn't order from the food menu at the bar and the tasting would be "sped up." Seems like a money grab in my opinion which is why I'm deducting a star. Additionally the members only clubhouse and the vineyard is only accessible to the general public Mon-Thurs so don't expect stunning views like on social media. As far as the tasting we still felt the sommelier was informative and passionate about the wines. He provided lots of detail and gave recommendations when we went to buy additional glasses. He was running around in between customers but when he was with us he gave us his full attention and was thoughtful. All the wines we had were delicious and I would return to see the clubhouse if I was in the area.

My friends, husband, and I had an amazing first wine tasting experience at Augusta Vin Winery thanks to Brittany, Bob, and Haley! As people who don't know much about wine, we really appreciated how welcoming and approachable they were from the moment we arrived. Brittany took the time to learn what we all liked and explained everything in a way that felt easy to understand and never overwhelming. Brittany, Bob, and Haley created such a fun, relaxed, and inviting atmosphere that made the entire experience so enjoyable. If you visit, I highly recommend asking for Brittany in the tasting room and Haley in the clubhouse. Bob will be happy to walk you to both! We'll definitely be back. Thank you, Bob, Brittany, and Haley!

Fantastic bottle of Merlot! ($43) Also, an enjoyable selection of tastings ($40 per, either a mixed tasting or reds only). Ample space, inside and out, with designated areas for member-only. Very elegant and modern design, clearly new. Happy 5 years! While Augusta is another one of Wine Country's venues that don't allow outside food, there is quite the variety of food choices, including charcuterie, sandwiches and sweets. (Ranging from $10-$75). Similar to other venues, the prices do seem inflated (and unreasonable) and I do wish we could just bring our own snacks and enjoy the vineyard's wine. While I'm sure it's not often necessary, we do think that a few patio heaters could be beneficial for guests or, at the least, a functioning fire in the fire place on colder days (especially during the holidays). Pro Tip: Pack a few blankets to enjoy your choice of wine on the colder days.

Arrived to the tasting room and seated at the bar with no view of the vineyards. We spent over $100 on wine and charcuterie. We then went to walk around the grounds since we didn't get to see much and were yelled at from across the lot for walking down this dirt path (not the vineyard itself) to look at the vineyard by a lady stating that only members could walk on this specific dirt path. The membership area was empty and we were not obstructing anyone's view. This area was not enclosed nor were there any signs. Strange experience, will not be back especially after spending so much and not being able to spend even 1 minute looking at the actual vineyard. Another couple said they were also yelled at for the same thing. If you don't want people walking down this area then at least put up a sign so your guests aren't yelled at like children after giving you business.

One of my favorite wineries in Fredericksburg. The grounds are beautiful and the staff was nice. I ordered their Rosé and enjoyed it.

Highly recommend making a reservation (we had one, thankfully), as it's a popular spot, and walk-ins may face a wait. We did a wine tasting flight and added a charcuterie board and rosemary bread to round out the experience. The wine? Fantastic. Each pour showcased the care and artistry that goes into Rae's winemaking. The Dandy Rosé was bright and refreshing, and the Trousseau was a beautifully light red. The charcuterie board? Easily one of the best I've had while wine tasting in the Hill Country. Every bite was thoughtfully curated and paired perfectly with the wines and we devoured nearly everything on it. The absolute highlight of the visit, though, was meeting Rae Wilson, the winery's master wine maker, herself! First and foremost I appreciate the professionalism shown by Cadye with her prompt emails and answering all of my questions. She and Clint put together an awesome itinerary, our only ask was to tour Slate Theory. Everything else was suggested and curated by Cellar Rat. Second I appreciate Clint, for the whole experience the day of the tour. We paid for a private tour and it was just that. He sent a text the morning of the tour to let me know when he was set to arrive. He arrived 1 minute early in the SUV and greeted us when we came out. He had a cooler in the truck with ice and water. He is well versed in all things vino and super down-to-earth. We started the tour at Texas Wine Collective where they rolled out the red carpet. We were doing the tour on a Monday so we pretty much had the whole winery/tasting room to ourselves. Sandy at Texas Wine Collective was awesome, ask for her if you visit. While we did our tasting, Clint went to grab our lunch from Fresh Pickens. The food was AWESOME! It hit the spot definitely after all the wine and cheese Sandy gave us! After lunch, we took some photos around the property then hopped in the SUV and on to the next winery, Kuhlman Cellars. Where we were met by Malachi. Malachi served us a flight of 5 wines, 3 selected by Kuhlman and 2 selected by my wife and me. We took a couple of photos out near the vines then headed on to the last winery, Slate Theory. Slate Theory's tasting room is by far the best experience. Words can't explain it. By the time we got to Slate Theory we didn't really want to learn about the wine, we just wanted to drink; and that we did. We hung out there for about an hour before heading back to the Airbnb. Great day of drinking! Met some awesome people and got to enjoy my wife on our anniversary. Clint knew everybody by the way, definitely makes the difference when you visit because you feel like family at each location. The only thing I would change about the tour would be to add an actual tour of the facilities and vineyard to the experience. I'm a visual learner and it would be cool to tour the distillation area and barreling process while learning about the wines. All in all, I give Cellar Rat Tours 5 STARS "A+++". PS: Slate Theory charged us for the wine tasting and Clint stepped in and handled the situation and orchestrated the refund to our credit card. This guy does it all! He's our main man for real.
