On a very chilly Christmas Eve, George's wasn't very full. We were sat right away. Because it was 7' outside, we probably shouldn't have chosen the front glassed in dining area, but we were told it was heated. Nope. It was freezing. Our hit coffee started out steaming and pretty quickly became iced coffee. No matter. We kept our jackets on and enjoyed. All 3 of us tried the 2 egg any style breakfast for $7.25. It comes with toast, fries or home fries, bacon sausage or ham, and a little juice. Lots of food! Really friendly service and if it was a little warmer we would've stayed longer. Best to take an interior table during winter just to be safe. Or order some matzo ball soup with your eggs.

Went in for an early breakfast. They had just opened. The gentleman there was very busy setting up. But the food came out quickly. We ordered short stack, Canadian bacon, scrambled eggs with bacon, fruit and toast. Very good

This place is so welcoming, the entire staff is so kind and attentive. I felt like family when I ate here, which was during a very busy time on a Sunday afternoon. I went in expecting to order breakfast, they have an extensive breakfast menu and it all looks delicious. Instead, I was seduced by their more savory lunch and dinner items. I decided on The summer salad and I added chicken to it. It was an amazing salad with greens, blue cheese, apples, dry cranberries, almonds and tomato. The Lipsmacker wrap was super filling and came with such a huge portion of crispy fresh waffle fries that it could easily be split by two people. I also ordered the appetizer size plate of spinach pie. I was stuffed beyond belief and still had food to take home with me P.S the salad tasted really delicious the next day as well. I plan on returning for breakfast as soon as possible and sampling the cheesecake on the dessert menu can't wait to dine in again!

Diner feel that reminded me of home (nc) great food selection, great service, and super fast! So much good I couldn't finish. Affordable price definitely will be back

This is a great little gem right here in the Bronx. I came here based off of the recommendations from other Yelpers. I am sooo glad that I did! My friend and I arrived and waited no more than five minutes before we were seated. The place was crowded and it was so easy to see why. George, the owner was behind the counter greeting what appeared to be regular customers. As I sat down and tried to figure out what I should order I noticed how fast the line formed. I ordered the breakfast special which came with one piece of French toast, one pancake, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs and I opted for French fries instead of home fries. My friend ordered a BLT (subbed the bacon for turkey bacon) and a side of French fries. Shortly after we ordered we received our food... We did not even wait five minutes! The food was great!! Can't wait to come back. See you soon Georgie, you just earned another regular customer. read more

GOOD NEIGHBORHOOD DINER BUT NEEDS AN UPDATE Owners: The food portions and prices are a great value but the atmosphere is like 1983. Your signage is old and faded (and ugly) I personally believe in quality over quantity. Most people may not but I do, and believe me plenty of people do care about quality. So final advice: update your ugly storefront and create a new menu minus the frozen food. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE. two plates stuffed to the brim with delicious breakfast food all for 8 dollars! Me and my girlfriend have been there 3 times so far, once this past weekend and twice in on weekend during the summer since we live out of town. This time around, my girlfriend is pregnant so she NEEDED the food (especially since she's been talking about it for near six months). We were absolutely not let down. George even once gave us cheesecake on the house because we decided to stick around and enjoy the food instead of taking off and going about our day. Food is plentiful and amazing. Havent had a bad dish yet. We always go for breakfast but i have tried alot of the other menu items and The pastrami is to die for , highly recommend it.. great service with a bit of a wait because of popularity. Go get ya eat on read more

Tony from the Bronx here. Today let's talk about George Diner and Cafe. Short and Sweet. If you want to have a freakin good Breakfast on a Saturday morning or a Sunday morning with family this is the place. The food is great , huge portions OMG and the price is reasonable bro. Georges is an iconic diner. I visit there for their Signature salad, which could feed about 4 people. Its so vood, so I try not go have anything else before it of I won't get the halfway through that I usually do. There are meals are just as great and the staff is truly accommodating and friendly. I have always felt the warmth of their welcome and their prompt service. read more

I'm doing an internship in the Bronx and I'm very unfamiliar with the area. I have come to this diner once a week for the past month and I've ordered a different menu item every single time. Everything I've ordered has been SPECTACULAR. Their staff is so friendly and accommodating. This mom and pop diner puts a lot of love into their food and they treat their customers really well. Great place to come for a hearty breakfast or a healthy lunch. read more

Conveniently located across the street from a subway stop. Stopped in for breakfast and had an egg and cheese omelette with toast and hash browns. This place was busy but the waiter was nice. Took a little while to place my order but my food came fast. read more

This diner doesn't seem like anything special from the outside but their food is really great. Their portions are huge and I can barely ever finish my meal, but as for flavor, the food gets a big thumbs up from me. The home fries side with my meal was the only thing I didn't feel was up to par. Did I mention that the prices were also fantastic for the amount of food hey give you. The only reason I give this place 4 stars is because their system of order in terms of getting people seated could be a bit of a mess. This diner is pretty small and it can get really full during the weekends so keeping people in order without a waiting area is pretty difficult. Overall I've always had a good experience here. read more

The salads are delicious here, the rice, grilled veggies, veggie burger, omelettes. The seafood selection is very good. The serving sizes are well proportional and suitable for sharing. Food is very tasty and the people that work here are very nice, they work hard. The Diner is one of the best if not the best in the Bronx. Very spacious inside, you can eat with your family, friends, or coworkers. read more

Went there for breakfast with my bf earlier & it was by far one of the best places I've been in the area. The food is sooo good! & the coffee! It's a small place, with minimal seating, but we literally waited not even 10 mins for a seat. The waitresses/waiter were so attentive, polite & quick. It's a cozy & comfy place. Wow!!! Busy, busy but soooo good. This is one place you will not be leaving hungry. This diner is very busy small but certainly got my money's worth. Only downside was the bathroom not working at the time. Food was great so was the service, I'll be back if I'm ever in the area. read more

Waited over an hour for delivery. Charged more then what the menu said. Forgot half our order. Food was ice cold and when I called to complain, I basically got a "too bad." Most ridiculous thing I have ever encountered. There's a diner right next door, try them instead. They wouldn't even comp what they forgot, they said they didn't charge us for it. How?! Will never ever order from here again. read more

I pretty much stopped going there since George left. The food is not the same. The service is not the same. I'm so disappointed. From one day to the next George just left. All the employees continued to lie and say he was on vacation. Or act like they didn't know. What a ghost is running this place now ?!! The new owner clearly can't keep the same level of service up that George did. I've had my egg sandwich messed up 2 times. How can you mess up a egg sandwich?!! I don't even bother with them anymore. I just go to the diner next door. read more

From the outside this place may not look like much, but the food and service are great. I went on a Sunday morning and it was really busy, but we were still able to be seated almost immediately and a waitress came over to greet us and get a drink order asap. The portions are huge and the the food is delicious! The staff is super friendly and our food came out so fast we barely had time to wait. I definitely will go again! read more

Stumbled upon this lowkey, homely diner while getting my car serviced and I must say, I am extremely happy to have chosen to walk in. Experience was perfect! I left my plate squeaky clean from how good my breakfast was. I had corned beef hash with eggs over easy and bacon, my mouth is watering just thinking back on it. The staff was super friendly and attentive, everyone just seemed like a big happy family, you immediately feel at home at this place. I will be sure to return with my friends and family, this newfound wealth must definitely be shared. read more

I asked my family what they thought about this place as today was the first time trying it. None of them could answer because they were so stuffed. Place is awesome. Food was great and the prices even better. They give you a lot for your money. Kids started off with complimentary hot chocolate. Which I guess it's because it's winter even though it's 61 degrees outside. My son had pancakes eggs and bacon and my daughter and I had regular breakfast meal and hubby had bacon cheeseburger deluxe. Everything was two thumbs up all around. Did not get 5 stars cuz you wait a little but they do deserve the 5. read more

They serve massive portions and have great prices ! I just found the food to be lacking in flavor . I tried the chicken noodle soup which was ok. Also had meatloaf with mash, and a Cuban sandwich which were both just totally bland to me . I ate half and gave the rest away. Excellent customer service and they serve food extremely fast. They give free apple juice and ice cream to kids which is cool. I would try them again but probably go for breakfast read more

Been here twice and both times hungover. This place has the best breakfast to help with those crazy nights Had the steak and eggs which are delicious but the pancakes are everything! Prices are very affordable also, running 8-13$ for large portions. Found the perfect little diner in the Bronx. read more

This diner has a customer for life. Great friendly service and amazing portions at great prices! I've made it a habit to come out here for breakfast every weekend wife my wife. The staff is wonderful and even though the place always seems busy they take the time to attend to is and other's regularly. Sunday's are the busiest mornings so we go Saturday's but everything is well worth it. This place is great! read more

Eggs Over Easy to Lamb Stew. One of the most divine things about living in New York City is its diners. Everyone knows this. George's is a classic Greek Diner that churns out the best eggs over easy and Greek Specials. Their specials are always served with a cold Greek Salad, a cup of chicken noodle soup and a basket filled with bread sticks and Portuguese bread rolls. The side of potatoes on the breakfast menu is greasy in just the right way and they don't burn their bacon unlike a lot of other close by diners. George's has a great counter. You can imagine going there as a member of their friendly "breakfast club." I would stroll in, greet the waiter tending the counter, order a coffee and two eggs over easy with an English muffin, then unfurl my copy of The Daily News...ah....paradise found at George's! When you want to take guests to George's, they have a sunny, glassed-in solarium...perfect for watching Bronx pedestrians as they strut by this busy corner location. I wish I could give zero stars. I just ordered the Chicken Parm and it was delivered. Last time I'll ever order from them. This order was a total rip off. The chicken cutlets weren't even solid but rather a bunch of small chicken pieces thrown together and battered up. There was almost no chicken other than little chicken pieces with all batter and cheese. The chicken pieces were probably leftover scraps that should have been in the trash. The 2 chicken slices were super thin and were the size of cup coasters about 3 inches across. They used to be huge and solid chicken cutlets. The only reason I was even full was because they give you a ginormous side of spaghetti. Definitely won't stay in business if you keep ripping off your customers. Never again..... read more

He makes you feel welcomed yeah but at the expense of yelling and screaming at his workers. i took my family there a few times because of the food and convienice but i found it very inappropriate to display this kind of behavior in front of customers. read more
