    Double Honey Butter Pancakes
    Cole D.

I feel conflicted, giving it four stars but that's how I feel. It was delicious. It was so fun to try. So fun to try something so viral. It's incredibly fluffy. The honey around it is so tasty. About halfway through I felt it was very dry, there wasn't enough, honey or syrup, and it just ended up being a lot of the same. Maybe if I've gotten a single stack it'd be more well balanced. I got a side of bacon and eggs. Bacon was cooked really well. Eggs were completely plain. Two hour wait, which is better than six hours which was a couple years ago. It was so fun to finally get in.

Another TikTok recommendation that was spot on. We had the Honey Butter Pancake and house potatoes. That pancake was incredible and worth the hype. Make sure you make reservations as the wait can be pretty lengthy. My daughter had the breakfast burrito which was good but coming from California, it is not comparable to the amazing burritos we have there. But the pancake is one of the best I have had. The honey butter with syrup is what makes the whole thing. The restaurant is on the smaller side but also has outdoor seating. It is far depending where you are in Manhattan. The server was super friendly too.

The first few bites were absolutely amazing. It was soft, fluffy, buttery, with a nice hint of lemon and plenty of honey maple butter soaked into every bite. Unfortunately, the richness quickly became overwhelming as I ate one pancake solo. After a while, every bite tasted more or less the same with overwhelming butter, and the sheer amount of it left me feeling nauseous trying to finish it solo. Definitely a dish I'd recommend sharing rather than ordering for yourself! Note that this place is very lively and packed even early on a weekday, so definitely prepare for a wait.

Luckily I had the freedom to come in at an odd hour on the weekday and only had to wait 30 min vs their typical 1-2 hour waits. I have to say this is one of the few places that is worth the wait. That first bite into their famous pancakes (5/5) has me kicking my feet. It's insanely fluffy and light and that honey lemony syrup is liquid gold I swear. Pairing that sweet with a savory, I got their chicken katsu club (4/5) which was delicious. The chicken was moist and well-battered with a Japanese style milk bread. The korean fried chicken is on the sweeter side, just a tad too sweet for my taste, but it's a sticky lovely bite. Finished the meal with the green tea coffee cake (3/5) which tasted exactly like matcha and hochija. I love matcha and hochija together and separately but was not a fan of the drier texture. Anyways I love love love this place

Snagged a 9am rez for 3 on a random night a few weeks ago when I was still up at midnight. It's a small space, which explains why a reservation is hard to come by, and why walk-ins have to wait hours to be seated. Before we even ordered our food, a cup of coffee was a must. Let me just say that the coffee in any diner is a pretty good indicator, to any true New Yorker, of how good the food will be, and this coffee did not disappoint! For food, we tried the pancakes with berries and extra lemon zest on the side (so good,) the omelette with mushrooms, peppers, and sausage, and the Egg Sandwich. All of the items were really good, with the pancakes being the well deserved standout. The fluffiness of the pancakes reminded me of former Le Barricou's, but the lighter texture, and buttery flavor/pop of lemon of Golden Diner's, definitely takes the win. Service was super fast and efficient, and while we didn't feel rushed, they turned our table within just under an hour. Just something to think about if you don't have a rez, and end up waiting longer than your anticipated dining time there.

So unpopular opinion but the pancake was just ok. It was great first two bites and then it's just ok. They sure are fluffy but not worth the hype imo but you know what was? The wings!! Oh my word! Get those. They are amazing! I'd wait in line again for those. Highly recommend

Were these amazing pancakes? YES! Would I wait 2 hours to have them again? Probably not. While the pancakes were very delicious, I find the wait time too extreme, it does discourage me from coming again. We were told that our wait time would be between 2-2:15 hours, but we were seating 1 hour and 40 minutes later. We chose to sit outside because it was a beautiful day, but I would like to point out that when the train passes overhead, it is very loud. Now to the star of the show, the pancakes! We got a double stack and I have to say that it is a little too big. I also don't think anyone would be able to finish the whole thing if they ordered other food with it. One funny issue I had was that the table was tilted my way, so all the honey was pooled on one side of the plate, but we asked for more honey and they brought us some. I appreciated that it was real honey and not the cheap and ultra processed syrup.

I've said it before and I'll say it again--these are still my favorite pancakes of all time, which shouldn't surprise anyone at this point. I'm updating my review after my last two visits. By now, everyone knows GD has reached near-god status on social media, and with that kind of attention comes real pressure. To their credit, they've taken it seriously and made a clear effort to make the experience more accessible to the public by adding: * Walk-up reservations * Online reservations * Expanding their signature pancakes to another location The servers are still friendly and efficient, which hasn't slipped despite the hype. On our last visit, we had a great conversation with Norah, who gave us a helpful tip on where to go while waiting for a table and which days are a little slower (and easier to get seated). Bottom line: the hype is real, but more importantly, they're doing the work to manage it. BB

The hype is real, the hype is real, the hype is REAL! When it comes to the pancakes....the hype is real. This was one of my bucket list of places to go after seeing it on social media and I must say I was not let down. Of course I didn't have reservations, so I tried to come early but the wait was 1.5 hours at 9:15 am. That was ok because it gave us time to walk down to canal street to do some shopping. We ordered the pancakes, eggs, bacon, home fries and wings. I had to take small bites of my pancake in order to savor the flavor because my pancake was quickly coming to an end. The diner is really small but they have setups outside for some extra space. We sat outside because inside was another 30 minute wait. Sitting outside can be noisy because of the train that passes above and it literally shakes the ground. But it wasn't as bad as it may sound after sitting out there I quickly got used to it and just paused the conversation until it passed. Met some nice folks that sat around us - really can't help being friendly because the tables are so close. Again not a bad thing. The sever was really nice and the food came out quick. Highly recommended spot.

Dropped by for an unexpected brunch recently. The pancakes are still other worldly. Full of honey, butter, and a little citrus to edge it off. Oh man and they are impossibly moist. These have definitely earned their place as some of the best the city has to offer. As for the sandwich, it did the trick. The eggs were soft and fluffy, bacon crisp, the cheese not so present to be honest. But what makes it in my opinion is that bread they serve it on. It adds a light sweetness that nicely rounds it off. Can't go wrong with Golden Diner.

Went on a cold winter day and I was so lucky that I scored a reservation. I had to sit at the counter, which was fine. When you walk in, it's very cozy! Honey Butter Pancakes brought me here, they were everything I imagined and more. Light, fluffy, sweet, savory, and so very filling. Drink of choice was a very refreshing Yuzu Ade. Grabbed some Korean Fried Chicken Wings as a side . They were also delicious, crispy, and seasoned with a slight spiciness to it. The shareable has plenty, I had to take some to go. Would not hesitate to return!

Food: Incredible! The avo toast is packed with flavors and beautifully presented. High in processed for portion size. Honey butter pancake was rightfully hyped (if you plan to eat the pancake as a dessert i recommend waiting to order when you're ready since it gets cold quick & the syrup thickens), the kimchi was absolutely delicious (highly recommend!) Service: Host was welcoming & friendly. Server gave bare minimum energy and was hard to flag down (even though this space is tiny) Ambiance: we were at a two top outdoor table, average ambience.

FANTASTIC. I'm obsessed with the pancakes here -- they taste just as incredible as they look. Perfectly fluffy, slightly caramelized on the outside, and not overly sweet. Easily the star of the table. We also tried the katsu, which was solid and well-executed, but nothing comes close to those pancakes. Be prepared for a wait (we waited about 2.5 hours), but if you're a pancake person, it's absolutely worth it. I'd come back again just for that plate alone.

This thing is a monster, built on Parisi's legendary fresh-baked bread that somehow stays crisp, chewy, and perfect no matter how much goodness gets piled inside. You get a crispy breaded chicken cutlet layered with thin-sliced prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, and (if you know what you're doing) roasted red peppers. It's all brought together with their house balsamic blend and basil herb spread/pesto--bright, savory, and completely addictive. I cannot confirm or deny that the sandwich is named after me, but I can confirm it's flawless. Pro tips: * Cash only, old-school rules apply. * Come hungry or plan ahead--this sandwich is big enough to share or save half for later, and it still eats beautifully round two. * Tip the sandwich makers. These folks are artists, and the tip box deserves some love. Beyond the food, Parisi is living New York history. From its origins as an Italian bakery on Mott Street, to feeding generations of locals, to being famously beloved by Frank Sinatra (yes, the bread was shipped to California), this place is woven into the fabric of Little Italy/Nolita. Legends like De Niro and Scorsese are fans, and you can still feel that old-world soul--right down to the original brick oven relic resting in the basement. Parisi isn't just a deli. It's continuity. It's tradition. It's proof that when you do one thing incredibly well for over a century, people keep coming back. And once you've had The Dennis, you will too.
