Called to have some ceiling wires capped off and a porch light fixture replaced. They sent several emails and texts confirming scheduled appointment and saying there was a $50 fee for cancelling within 24 hours also $150 fee for not being home. $200 service fee for what I thought was the first hour. They texted an hour before the window of time they would show up to cancel and reschedule. I asked if I got the $50 reduced fee for the cancellation. Girl said she would ask and calls back to say no someone would be right out. Guy came replaced light fixture (I provided) and capped off wire from old smoke alarm and charged me $450.70!? I guess the $200 service fee was for the pleasure of his company. They did not tell me that.. WHAT A RIPOFF do not use this company. read more

Once again we needed some some electrical problems diagnosed and repaired. For us, the only place to call was George's Electric because of the great experience we had four years ago with Frank, the tech who installed our interlock switch along with an outside power receptacle for our portable generator. This time the business merits a solid five stars from my experience with the office scheduling the repair over the phone, one of the ladies calling me today to let me know a tech could show up today instead of next week (I jumped on it) and on to James, the tech. As I said to James when he had completed the two essential electrical repairs, I love a tech who is also educational. James told me much about our electrical system and which appliances should be plugged into 20 amp outlets instead of 15 amps. No one had ever explained that to us, much less the company that sold us our house and finished wiring it up. James explained everything clearly and he worked quickly as well. He was super friendly and personable. I immediately had full confidence in him to do quality repair work, which he did. Had them come yesterday to move two existing outlets and a switch approx two feet along the same wall. 2 hours work. Billed $924.00. $52 --Materials $78--Permit That leaves a whopping $794 for labor. That is almost $800 or $400 per HOUR. I think they should make a point of letting the customer know of the Service Charge, hourly rates, etc. so one is not completely blind-sided by the cost of a small job. read more

I had to get my bathroom fan replaced. They came and took my unit out and said they had to order a new unit. Didn't come back until a month later with a new guy. He came assessed the same way the first guy did and left saying they had to order a new unit AND said they LOST the original unit. Called and called. No response. Had to get another electrician to finish their job. The worst part is that this company stated to have replaced my fan when asked about my case. read more

They arrived on time, let me know they are there, got to work, let me know status when I asked, cleaned up after themselves, had the house up and working by the end of the day. In my case it was a multi-day job involving others; George's took care of arranging the "others," permitting and inspection. At the end of the day, the house was back up working and they told me what steps were left, when they would happen, and what the homeowner's job would be in completion (scheduling). The estimate was reasonable, detailed, easy to understand. The overall cost was right on the estimate with no surprises. The guy they sent for our remodel over a year ago had a holier than thou attitude, slower than a sloth, was nailed on multiple violations by the county inspector, took considerably longer than stated, and put in canned lighting in the most dysfunctional pattern imaginable. He DIDN'T ASK about lighting placement (I was on site the entire time, and so was the GC), so the George's Elec guy starts putting putting holes in the ceiling willy nilly while we were doing other things (again, why would you not ask about placement, if owner and GC are right there!). Can not imagine where they got someone so inept, as I have worked with contractors for decades through considerable real estate investing. Fortunately, Seth came out to try and salvage the situation. Will not use this company again, unless Seth is doing the work. read more

Called for an estimate to repair several pretty easy electrical repairs like securing baseboard heaters to walls with screws, fixing some electrical outlets, replacing a utility room fan and other minor electrical work. They quoted me over $3500.00 of 2 days plus OT work!!!!!! This quote was made without an electrician coming out to look at the job. Are you frigging kidding me???? About four months ago I paid around $2,600 for a new panel and mast to be installed. When the panel was installed, one of the electricians (Tim?) snipped a red wire on like a 12-3(?) wire and now the GFCI in the bathroom has a light on indicating that there's an issue with the circuit. I thought about saying something the next day after the power came back on (they left before PSE came to turn on the power to the house), but it still provides power to the outlet and I was planning on re-wiring the bathroom anyways during my next remodel. Today I went to turn off a breaker and when I opened the panel, the lights in the hallway started to flicker. After turning off all of the breakers and then the main breaker I discovered that two sets of wires had come loose from two breakers and would spark when touched. They were so loose that they didn't even seem hand tightened. It was an easy fix, and you are suppose to re-tighten your breakers every year, but it seemed like lazy workmanship that could have potentially caused a fire or possibly fried devices that were hooked up to those circuits. read more

Don't think about using this company, even to change a light bulb. We had them install a new circuit box in our house and what they did was a mess and completely illegal (we found out later). The electrician they sent over was lazy and constantly wanted us to change some additions that we wanted to add into the box. He was so bad, my wife finally told him to leave and to have the company send someone else the next day. That is when he finally settled down and worked. Unfortunately, this worker chewed sunflower seeds and spit the shells out all over our garage and driveway. Along with all of the insulation that he stripped off and left everywhere he worked. It took me days to clean up his pig sty of a mess he left. He used micro breakers in a circuit box that did not allow them (a fire hazard according to our contractor). He used 240 volt breakers on 120 volt circuits (a fire hazard according to our contractor). he mislabeled all of our circuits. I have a ground on an antennae, and he took the ground off of this ground off of it's grounding rod and did not reattach the ground to it (a fire hazard according to our contractor). As I said don't use this company. They installed some GFCI plugs for us in our garage, and they did not work. They did come out and fix this, but they should not have had to come back at all if these circuits were tested in the first place. We are now having to add an additional panel to the existing panel to accommodate the number of circuits we have. We told George's that we needed extra space in the panel for future work and they completely ignored this. We are having to now spend almost as much as we paid George's electric to fix George's work. Please don't use this company. They deserve to go out of business as they do not know what they are doing. read more

Not open on weekend (no one was) but fit me into schedule when no one else called me back..still working on finding my electrical problem...this is going to be expensive will post more when we locate the issue. Took 2 hours to find and fix problem but he was thorough and informative. Shorts in outlets where they had used the push wire into outlet feature instead of connecting wires the manual way. Our well quit working on Friday in the early morning we called Georges electric. at 4 pm he came out stayed a few minutes left to get a new breaker and came back claimed the store he went to didn't have a breaker and that he would order one and bring it out on Monday. he left. we set up our generator to run the well for the weekend. I dug up the well wire and exposed the splice, he came back late Monday afternoon after 3 pm without a breaker, he left to get 100' of wire to attach to the splice then to the breaker box- he did not buy the correct amount my husband had to go back to the same store and buy another 20 feet. Georges electric - attached the well wire to my barn breaker turning off my barn completely on Friday- most importantly hot wires that keep my 12 horses in their pens. Finally on Wednesday he brought a new breaker and installed it. That is 5 days later. still he offered me no bill- said they would bill me. I called to find out since I was NOT offering them a blank check- the owner said he does not do favors $783.54 bill IS DUE NOW. First off he was here a total of 2 hours in 3 different visits; apparently they want paid a full hour when they come for 15 minutes then leave and come back charging another full hour when they return. I explained to the serviceman that we had an at risk senior in our home that I really needed water to be on-so for saying this: he thought i should pay an emergency call out fee- now my breaker box has exposed wires running out the front of it even thou I dug a ditch up to the breaker panel and supplied conduit for the new wire he made no attempt to do a permanent legal electrical repair and attach it through. the 90 degree conduit. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL, He also left a mess at the site of the splice. I wish I had never called him. 1. not upfront about fees minimum of 102.00 for 5 minute stay. 2. takes every Friday off- or emergency call out fees apply. 3. no supplies on hand and you pay per hour for his travel time even if he does not get part. 4. expect 5 day turn around for repair. 5. his fix will not pass a L&I inspection, left exposed wires at the end of this job. read more
