I had 4 estimates for the job (new panel, increase the service and ceiling lights in the kitchen) and they were in the cost range of the budget (Sea Town was $7k higher!). The estimate and quote were spot on and Jeff was super friendly and professional. The crew that did the work knew what they were doing and were friendly but focused. They were neat about working in the house by putting down plastic and taking off their shoes (or wearing covers). No not "first choice" but probably "last choice". Perhaps "never choose this company if you want to dodge a bullet " electrical & solar company I have 4 light fixtures, in which 2 of them don't seem to work. I call home shield and get assigned to first choice electrical. When the electricians come out, I explicitly point to the 2 light fixtures that don't work and ask them to fix it. instead they thought that i was asking to have lighting installed and decides to install light fixtures next to the ones that are existant . (I mean first of all they understood my request erroneously, and secondly who in their sane mind thinks installing a light fixture next to an existing non-working one solves this issue?). The electricians have left with a half ass job because they now ALL OF A SUDDEN tell me that american home shield won't approve them to continue on with their job because they need access behind the dry wall and according to american home shield any work that requires access behind walls is not approved. And I'm left with this mess, where i have non working canned lights installed in the ceiling. PS: Just talked to Jeff (the owner) about this issue and he got really emotional saying that he did the right thing (even though i've never asked for the "right thing" ). After I try to explain why its unfair , Jeff got emotional and said "Fuck you, you little bitch! I'm not going to continue on with the work left there. You find another company. This is our livelihood!". I told him to calm down and lets solve this like an adult. But he continued to call me names and use the F word. And its really unprofessional that he doesn't want to complete the unfinished work that I've already paid for. The electrician was great. He even showed up early. He was very responsive via text and calls. He did a great job with explaining what he needed to do. He was able to remove our old alarm system, including a fire hazard oulet, replace outlet, and cap the hot wires so they were no longer a fire hazard. We were very worried about an electrical fire due to the oulet having soot buildup on the wall above it from sparking. We will definitely sleep better! Also, he gave us a 10% senior discount. I called First Choice and asked for a quote to install a generator with an ATF because I am disabled, have to take refrigerated medication daily as well as an installed stairlift. I had the stairlift installed by Acorn stairlifts and it was okay. Then there are intermittient power outages hence my call to Jeff Lambert. He arrived promptly and gave me a quote a little less than the one that Dear Services quoted. The told me the job would take two days but it stretched out to several over the two weeks. I wish I was informed of this first. I had to have the gas rerouted because of a leak in the garage so it was rerouted outside. Premier Plumbing did the job, great job they did. No issues. Job was done with several inspections by the city and we passed. Finally last week it was able to be turned on and it worked. I only wish that Jeff had told me it was to take longer than I expected as I had to stay home and wait for them over and over again. Other than that, it was okay. read more

Got the Tesla bug and had to have one. I had to find a company that could get me some electricity out to my shed, which is by my carport. I had to dig a 40' trench for them to run the wires. I had four company's out for a bid and First Choice is the company I chose. They beat all bids substantially. They were quick to come out for bid, and once I decided to use them, they were prompt in scheduling and getting the job done. I really can't think of one disappointment I had with their plan and execution of this project, and it wasn't an easy one. They took care of all of the permits and scheduled an inspection with the city for final approval. John and Tavious were the ones who came out and were both very nice and it was obvious from the start they knew what they were doing. It pains me to write this review. It brings me no pleasure but after 2 weeks of deliberation, I think future customers have a right to know what happened in my home. Their quote came in around everyone else's for the job to upgrade my panel. I got a $6000 quote all the way to a $4000 quote. 1. Confirm your quote with owner Jeffery. What he says he can do and what he writes down on the quote are two different things. Do a better job then me and check it line for line and don't take his word for it. I own this mistake. After the work was done he charged me an additional $1000. I am not the only person he did this to, see other reviews. When I tried to clear up this confusion with the owner he was very defensive and said "I wish I never took your job." The owner. Jeffery kept insisting that he gave me a great deal and I should be grateful. 2. Buy drop cloths, plastic sheeting, and pray. I picked his company because to me, he said the magic words. "We are super clean." Their website even boosts how clean they are. I asked the electrician and kid, (intern maybe) multiple times- "please tell me if you need me to move anything, please tell me how I can help" It was my bedroom after all. They said, "no, we are good." * Electrician came in on average 30 minutes late every day, smelling of alcohol and cigarettes. * Young intern boy left a trail of mud all through my house after digging a hole in my backyard. He just threw the mud everywhere with no regard for my garden. * Cigarette butts were left on my property (see photos) * Robe was damaged beyond recovery - had to trash it, there is no getting splinters out of it (plush microfiber and sawdust don't mix) * Clothes covered in sawdust (see photos) * Electrician installed the panel in the wall one side flush and the other side sticking out an inch. I asked him to make it even. He did. * While installing the panel they accidentally damaged the drywall from floor to ceiling. Later after I asked when they were going to repair it, I had to go to bat for myself. He wanted to just leave it for me to repair and pay for (see photos)... this opened a huge can of worms. * Stained my carpet had to get it shampooed (see photos) 3. The JOB IS NOT EVEN DONE! After much dispute with the owner of his business practices, he claimed the job is done. In our final walkthrough, I asked about a bunch of cords that were sticking out the side of the house and why they looked so wonky. He said, "the city will come to take care of that." ... Weeks go by and the weird cords are still sticking out of my house. I called First Choice back to see when the work is going to be complete. They said to call the city. Called the city, they said - there is NO PERMIT FILED FOR THIS you need to fill out an application! YOU NEED TO PAY FOR THE PERMIT! Nothing had been done by this company property, (according to the city). Yikes. It is my hope for this business I am their ONE HUGE DOOZY! And they take this with grace and a learning opportunity for their next clients. This was a nightmare. read more

While solar was uneconomic, they did install a Generac PWRCell backup battery system that has already worked during a power outage. Their proposal was clear and competitive. They were always on time and communicated very clearly what was being done. They ran power 350' to power our gate and install a post light, 3 exterior electrical outlets, which included going under concrete for 2 locations and added or modified interior lighting for us. I regret to have chosen this company. When I first met the estimator, he was a smooth talker and kept calling me sign the contract. My mistake was that I was naive and believe in honesty in people. My project involved a new electric panel, EV charger and outdoor outlet. My old electric panel is tiny and the new one is twice as big. Still, they cut a hole bigger, and it is my fault to fix my drywall. When I sent a picture about my drywall, they point to the contract, and I am responsible. I am really MAD because how am I responsible if I don't know in advanced what model they will install and how they would cut into my drywall? When I ask about GFCI breaker at outdoor outlet they claim it is in the electric panel and no need to worry. Their employees on the first day stepped on my peony and no apology even I pointed out. They threw tools to my hardwood floor. Here are my lessons and I hope you learn from my experience. Ask for very details of their work like model #, how they install them, who will fix the damage to your property. They are also responsible for questions, educations and information a customer asks. The venting system switch in our master bathroom was tripping out most of the lights on our top floor of our home. Jeffrey (owner) had given us a quote of $200 and to make an appointment for a diagnosis and a small repair. I assumed that $200 covered both diagnosis and small repair. But turned out it was $200 for the diagnosis and another $200 for the small repair, plus an extra $$$ for the parts needed. I wish the owner had clarified that there would've been an extra cost for the small repair and that the $200 only covered the diagnosis. Turns out the fix would only cost us $10-15 if we did it on our own. I ended up just paying for the diagnosis because it was an easy fix. But all in all, I'm still giving 5 stars. The owner was super quick to respond back to us and he was very professional. For next time, I will make sure to clarify the prices before making the appointments. Thanks! read more
