    Unit in basement.

Over the weekend I had some issues with the Rinnai Tankless water heater that was installed by Aqualine Plumbing, Electrical & Heating. I called in early Tuesday morning and shared my issues and concerns with Ms. Ramona. She told me that she would send out someone around noon. The technicians, Garrett and Isaac, called and asked if they could come earlier that the appointed time. I said yes and they were here in minutes. Garrett and Isaac were very kind, courteous, respectful, knowledgeable and professional. They went right to work on my unit - troubleshooting and diagnosing the issue. They had my unit back up and running in no time. I appreciate the way they both communicated with me and answered all of my questions and addressed all my concerns. They were so nice and willing to accommodate my personal requests to put some boots around the exhaust pipes to give it a more dressed up look. Garrett and Isaac are awesome guys and Aqualine Plumbing, Electrical & Heating is a great company that will satisfy all your plumbing, electrical, and heating needs. Don't waste your time and money on the other guys. Call Aqualine and save yourself time, money, frustration and aggravation. They'll get you right!

Avoid Aqualine cost me not only over ~$2,000 and I had to have the electrical work redone, and I fear the disposal will need to have the pipes lowered in the future. I do not trust their work. I contacted Aqualine to have them provide estimates for electrical and plumbing work. The first to arrive was a Plumber to assess my request to have a garbage disposal installed under a new deeper kitchen sink. The estimate was itemized and included line items for "installed customer supplied garbage disposal" and for "Lower kitchen sink drain 6 in and install clean out". This estimate was lower than the others I'd received. I felt comfortable choosing this company since they could do both the electrical I needed and the plumbing. He asked for a deposit of $800 which I gave him. The following week the electrician came to estimate: installing a new outlet under the sink for the garbage disposal and troubleshooting 3 GFI bathroom outlets that didn't work. Estimate seemed reasonable and he could start right then so I had him start these two jobs. I was informed of a fire hazard in my attic crawl space related to the non-working bathroom outlets. He had to rewire all 3 outlets and connect them to another junction box in the crawl space to make it safe, however he didn't have what he needed on this day and would have to come back. Before the electrician came back the plumbers came. The estimate for the work was to re-work all of the pipes in the wall behind the kitchen sink to lower the drain and install the garbage disposal. The estimate for all of this was $1605.26. The plumbers were here 45 min and informed me they were done. They told me they did not have to rework the pipes and simply installed the disposal. Since I'd paid a deposit of $800 I was due a refund. I said I was having electrical work done as well and would like any balance applied to this work. They said this sounded good and they'd let the office know. The electrician came back and ran a new wire in the wall to connect the 3 GCIs. He started to work and I heard a loud crash. He had somehow caused the bathroom fan in the master bath to fall to the floor taking ceiling dry wall and insulation with it. Accidents happen, and although I wasn't happy about it, as long as the company fixed the ceiling I wasn't too concerned. He worked for a few hours and then "got the outlets working". He left and said management would call me to arrange payment since I was due a refund and to let me know when and how the ceiling would be repaired. Not more than an hour later I got a call asking me to pay. I told the manager on the phone that I wasn't comfortable paying before my ceiling was fixed. He said he would have the drywall people call me that evening and asked me to pay the reminder of my bill. This was when I learned that the garbage disposal install that took less than 45 min was going to cost $695. I questioned this since this estimate was for when the pipes were to be moved too and now this install was much simpler. He said this was the line item in the estimate for the install and this was the price. I was not happy about this, however I had approved the estimate so paid the reminder of the bill. The restoration team came the next day to fix the ceiling drywall. They patched the hole and sprayed texturizer/primer and left. It wasn't the best dry wall job but it was done, or so I thought. They didn't speak English and I don't speak Spanish so they didn't communicate that they were coming back. Two days later the drywall team showed up to paint. The ceiling was last painted by the previous owners so was not your basic ceiling white. They left to go buy paint and stopped on their way out and said "same color"? I said it's a ceiling so just white. They returned and I was working so they went into the bathroom to paint. After they left I found out they'd painted the ENTIRE bathroom ceiling white. I didn't ask them to paint the entire room, and if they'd asked me I would have asked for a different color for the walls. The electrical work has since been redone by another electrician. It was discovered that the Aqualine tech back fed the new line he installed to the breaker box. I was lucky it didn't cause a house fire.

The tech they sent spent an hour looking around, trying to find the problem. He said he couldn't solve it but we still got charged $411. He said he would have to send someone else. Any estimate for the job? No - he couldn't even make an estimate. When I called Adam, he said they would send a more experienced tech. Why not send someone qualified the first time? What about the charge for showing up and not doing anything? "That's our normal fee?" So, will we be charged for a new estimate? "It's still $250 to show up." Really? I told him we didn't want them anymore and we would like at least a partial refund. He agreed to a refund of $125, but the refund didn't come. I called again and he said they had a miscommunication. Now it would be sent. Still no refund ... We found a new person, a handyman - he said it was challenging, but he found the broken connection and he only charged us $250. Mirsky? Never again ...

No contractor is perfect, especially on larger jobs, and we had a few bumps along the way. They were friendly, professional, and clearly took pride in doing quality work. When you're investing this much money in your home, trust matters. Tessa, at the office, texted me to confirm my appointment time and included a photo of Rich, my service technician. Rich was fantastic. He showed up on time, was extremely knowledgeable and very communicative. As expected, after his very comprehensive inspection and testing of my Furnace and A/C some serious issues were found. The 20 year old furnace had a crack in the heat exchanger, which Rich showed me on his camera. The 30 year old A/C had lost a significant amount of its effectiveness to cool my home and was wasting a lot of energy. Rich was there almost 2 hours and I got all this at an amazing special price of $29! He asked me if I wanted someone to come out and give me a free estimate to replace my furnace and A/C, and had the office schedule someone to come out when I returned from my upcoming trip. Two weeks later Dan Severt showed up on time to take measurements and collect the information needed to properly size the new systems I needed and provided me with a detailed estimate. He explained my options, explained the installation process, and covered possible financing options. As it was possible for me to get a loan through GreenSky to make monthly payments with no penalty for early payoff and no interest if paid in full within 18 months, I decided to proceed. Dan called the office to schedule the install for me and got me started with the GreenSky loan process. A short while later, Tessa texted me information about my install to begin the very next day. Later Tessa sent me a text to confirm my appointment and included photos of the technicians that would be coming. Next day she texted me that they were on their way and included a tracking link so I could monitor their progress. Technicians Obet and Cody arrived to begin the installation. As is usually the case with 40+ year old homes, and today's updated building codes and newer, more complicated "smart" systems, a few issues popped up. At all times the guys kept me informed of the issues, explained what my options were, and then executed the necessary workarounds. Dan also made himself available to come by personally to see the issues for himself and answer any questions I had and offer advice when asked. A short while later, a highly experienced Carlos arrived to assist the guys with problem resolution. They guys worked really hard from 9am to 10pm in order to complete their job for the electrician coming the next day. They cleaned up the job site and hauled away the old units. Meanwhile, back at the office, Sarah who had processed the necessary permit(s) texted me that she had made arrangements for the two required inspections, one for the electrical work and the other for Snohomish County building code adherence. She informed me that those two entities would reach out to me to set things up. Later I received a text that the electrician, Fredo, would arrive early the next morning. Fredo showed up on time and completed the electrical work in time for Benjamin to arrive. Benjamin completed a checkout, testing and startup of the system and demonstrated how to program the new smart thermostat. All worked perfectly. Without exception, everyone involved was timely, possessed excellent communication skills, was organized and highly skilled at their respective jobs. All of them were positive and courteous and respectful of me and my property. This was, by far, one of the best experiences I've ever had in a job requiring skilled labor! Kudos to As You Wish for having quality people and using quality suppliers for their HVAC systems! I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to invest in updating their systems, or in having them inspect and service their existing equipment. Ordinarily I would have sought out multiple estimates before hiring someone to do such a big job. I have no idea how the cost for As You Wish to do this job compares to the numerous other competitors in this sector, but I'm kind of glad I didn't. Otherwise I may have gone with someone cheaper, who knows? But one thing I know for sure is that I couldn't have found anyone better!
