My father and I stopped by here today coming home from Lubbock. I got the beef enchiladas, which were on special. They reminded me of school cafeteria food. The worst part was the rice and beans. In both cases, it's not that they were bland or over/under cooked, they just straight up tasted horrible. My dad had the beef quesadillas and he said it's the worst he's ever had. Maybe they're other stuff is okay, I don't know. But, for the love of God don't get any of they're Mexican dishes! read more

They were very busy. The waitress seemed overworked. We got the special, 2 hot steak specials ( chicken fried steaks). The meat was food service grade. Edible but not a real chicken fried steak. Free soft serve ice cream with every meal. I would eat here again. read more

This place was recommended at the BnB we are staying at and it did not disappoint. I had the gyro plate. The meat was so tender and full of flavor. The tzatziki sauce was spot on and the bread was perfect! The fries were crispy and delicious. This plate cane with rice, and it was Spanish rice, kind of odd but really good. Well prepared food. Well trained and very courteous staff. We ate here twice in a week, coming and going to Ruidoso. The first time the place was busy, the second time it was packed on Sunday at noon! We still were served promptly, and the staff was friendly, refilled our drinks and you would have thought we were the only ones there! We were treated the same as the locals and the food was good. We had a BBQ special and the breakfast plate with porkchops on Sunday and we still were in and out in less than 40 minutes and that included paying and stopping at the necessary room. The food was delicious and the price was very reasonable. Our other stop was earlier in the week and we arrived tired after a long day of driving and we shared the mixed fajita plate and it was scrumptious with their special cheese and of course the soft serve ice cream afterwards is a nice treat too! George's has a varied menu and for a little town on the way to where ever you are headed, the price is right and the service and food are as well. read more

We were on a road trip and stopped for a quick lunch. We sat down and had our drink order taken and asked a few questions about the menu. We told the waitress we needed a minute to decide. She never came back. We looked around and saw her talking in the back. We tried to motion that we were ready. We waited and waited. Finally we stood up and walked to the front. Still nothing- so my husband took the kids to the car. I waited a couple more minutes at the cash register. Finally an employee acknowledged me and I paid for the drinks. When she asked me if that was all I told her yes, because our order was never taken. She took my cash (they don't take debit or credit cards- we had to pay the ATM fee at the ATM in the restaurant to get cash), gave me the change and said sorry about that! That was it. Stopped in for lunch while driving from Lubbock. Adorable hometown-feel kind of place. It is a clean, NON-SMOKING restaurant with nice bathrooms. Lots of variety on the menu. We ate a cheeseburger and a BLT, but they offer everything from brisket, to enchiladas, to gyros. Good food, good service, hearty and wholesome place. Be prepared, it's CASH ONLY. There is an ATM inside the restaurant. We came during lunch and it was hopping with locals and figured that's a good sign. Will definitely eat here next time we are in Post! read more

You have to know that they only take cash for one. Two you have to know what to get. This is a diner kinda like ihop but not quite. The best things to order are the fried catfish basket or plate and the bbq plate. I usually get brisket. No beans. All the fried stuff is good and the buffalo chicken sandwich. Also breakfast is great here. Otherwise I'm not into much else. You also may or may not have good service depending on your waitress. They do have free ice cream though! read more
