The food was amazing! Also the fact that we were on the Canal was really cool when a large ship came through. I would highly recommend you visit this restaurant when you are in the area.

    Souvlaki gyro with Greek salad

We stopped here for lunch, our first meal in Canada, on our way from Toronto to Niagra Falls. This place was busy & bustling - that's always a good sign. After a few minute wait, we were seated in the last available table in the heated patio. Our order: Black lager: really good! Great flavor, like a carbonated stout - wasn't expecting that Chicken souvlaki with potato: great flavor, filling, thought the potatoes were going to be diced/smaller but they were really buttery & flavorful Souvlaki gyro with Greek salad: the greek salad was just what I needed and was so fresh & delicious, the gyro was good too but paled in comparison to the Greek salad. The patio had somewhat of a view of the tall bridge overpass & water below. Service was great. Our bill was $35 CAD - what a deal!

We started our meal with the kalamari and it was really good. They also brought it to our table pretty quick so we weren't waiting long. Once we finished that they brought us garlic bread and greek salad, which were both great as well. Shortly after we finished the salad they brought our main dishes. We arrived pretty hungry so we really enjoyed the continuous flow of food to our table! I ordered the shrimp with tomato and feta and really enjoyed it. There was lots of flavour and a big portion of shrimp. I felt there was a bit too much feta but still really enjoyed it. My parter ordered the chicken kebob and liked it as well. The chicken was pretty simple, but that's to be expected. We both loved the rice and homemade tzatziki that came with our dinners. The portions were large and offered great value. Overall we thought the food was excellent but some other highlights were the service and the breadth of the menu. Our waitress was friendly, checked in on us often, and was surprisingly honest in answering our questions about the menu. We loved the wide range of options available on the menu, because we've gotten used to Greek food being a choice between pork souvlaki and chicken souvlaki. A menu that big makes us consider returning just to try other interesting dishes we missed out on today! The only complaint we had was that the music was very repetitive and at times annoying, but we'd still call it a great dining experience.

The service was great, our waitress was quick and very pleasant. I'm not a huge fan of greek food, although everything was well presented and was very filling. I enjoy the family style salad and bread before the meal. The ambiance is wonderful, we sat outside by the canal, the weather was great but it was super comfortable, very roomy and not too loud outside!

Sit on the patio for a wonderful experience overlooking the water and the bridges. FOR dessert, baklava is amazing. Food is super Queen dining area is welcoming. Definitely give it a try.

This restaurant offers a solid meal, good portions and good prices. I had the pork souvlaki sandwich (pita wrap) for lunch and both the main and the side Greek salad were quite tasty. The dessert portions are big, and the baklava had a lot of nuts in it. The location is a fantastic one with a view of the Welland canal-- if you're lucky, timing wise, you may even catch the pull bridge go up while a boat comes through during your meal! They have a Nice big patio or you can sit by the wall of windows inside for this. I feel this is a bit of a "hidden" find and very quaint. I also have to say that The service is amazing -warm, friendly and not intrusive. I would go back here when in the area for the good food and unique view this place offers. Breakdown: 3.5 for food, 4 for service and 4 for unique view experience

Two souvlaki platters, totalling just under $40. Upon getting home and opening the containers we were severely underwhelmed with what we got. A small scoop of rice and three quarters of a whole potato, next to one skewers worth of meat. It also came with bread and a salad, all of which still equalling a sad portion to have spent the amount of money we did. We called the restaurant right away and spoke our concerns, asking if this was a regular portion... The lady on the other end of the phone stated yes, it was correct. We asked if we could return it as we were unhappy and she proceeded on a rant about how they would not take it back because they wouldn't be able to do anything with it, how we must have bigger appetites than usual, and what did we expect? I have been to Joe Feta's and for the same price received at minimum three times as much food. Every time I tried to speak she spoke over me, even started raising her voice and threatened to hang up on me. Needless to say, I finished my entire meal not long ago and I am sitting here with a rumbling belly. (Not that it matters, but I weigh under 120 lbs, so not like I usually eat a ton...) To be honest, the chicken was very bland on top of it all. Will not be returning.

We sat in the front of the restaurant because it was brighter. It seemed like the lights were low towards the back ... not cozy at all. We both ordered Yianni's Special. Plus Gord ordered a coffee and I ordered a large milk. Breakfast was good and there was a nice variety. Our server started out fairly friendly. But after we'd ordered and got our meals, she kind of forgot about us. We were trying to catch her attention to let her know we wanted our bill for a while. It took us a long time to be able to pay. This restaurant lost a star because of this.

Walking home, we spotted Yianni's storefront and resolved to head there for breakfast in the morning - it looked cozy, and they had a breakfast menu plastered right outside! Arriving was a totally different experience, however. To be fair, we were there on a wednesday morning - but we were literally the only diners there (and the town was bustling with some sort of photography group...hundreds of people with cameras? Who knows). I was initially excited for what I was assuming to be a great little greasy-spoon greek breakfast spot. Turns out I was wrong on that account. The waitress ushered us to our table, asking if we would like a coffee. Of course, we said yes before even sitting down - however I would later find out that coffee was $2.50 a cup for mediocre diner-style brew. Ehhh, not impressed, and the way she said it I assumed (like at plenty of breakfast spots) that it was included. My fault for assuming, but whatever. Anyhow, when she came back I was quite excited to order the egg breakfast. I don't eat meat (and there was no plain egg dish without it), so I asked if I might be able to sub the bacon for another side, or an extra egg, or anything really. Bowl of fruit? whatever. Her response kind of bothered me, however: "Absolutely no substitutions." Seriously? Who says that? Roll it off your tongue, right now. You just -feel- rude. Needless to say I was disenchanted at the idea of paying $7 for two eggs and toast (no coffee, homefries extra, of course). After her little rebuttal, she said matter-of-factly that "if you don't eat meat, you should get an omelette." $10-13 for the omelette. Well, OK. $13 for breakfast is no big deal. Oh wait, that doesn't come with homefries either? Grumpily, my girlfriend and I each ordered a side of homefries for an extra $1.50 each. To her credit, the omelette didn't take long to make and it was in front of me pretty soon. There was plenty of feta in my Mediterranean omelette, and it was pretty tasty. The homefries, however, were FROM A BAG. We're talking McCain/Cavendish variety here. Not only that, they BURNED THEM into crunchy little cubes of grease, with little-to-no fluffy potato interior. It was actually like eating grease-soaked potato chips. I had heartburn for HOURS. I was unimpressed when the bill unceremoniously showed up at $38. I'm sorry, but $5 for two uninspiring coffees, over $15 per omelette... ...I would have paid that for an incredible, fresh, lovely breakfast at some inn by the lake. But given the atmosphere and the service and the quality of what I actually put in my mouth... ...PASS.

My wife had eggs scrambled, and my son and I had them poached. They were perfectly poached - it looks like they have a machine for poaching, since they come out in a perfect cup shape. They are well cooked, with just the right amount of liquid yolk that I like. Here's the problem - it costs extra to get eggs poached. 2 eggs, sausage or bacon, toast and homefries is about $6, but if you want them poached, it's $7 and there are no homefries - have to pay another $1 or $1.50 extra for that. Want Rye toast? That's more money too. When I ordered my food, my poached eggs came on top of my rye toast - making the toast soggy. Look, I know some people might just be making their own egg on toast sandwich, but that can't be most people. Leave the eggs on the side (There was plenty of room on the plate) and let people put it on the bread if that's what they want. The service was great, and the food itself was decent - pretty good, actually. But the upcharges make this place not one I'll visit again.

The two servers were polite, efficient and a delight to interact with. They made us feel more like welcome guests in their homes than customers at a restaurant. The drink selection was limited but I found a delicious local beer and my wife had a frozen strawberry coconut concoction (Miami Vice) that reminded her of her favorite drink from a Caribbean resort. We couldn't have been happier with the food. She had a pasta dish with vegetables (she's a vegetarian) and I had shrimp and veggies over rice. Both were delicious and the portions were very generous. The shrimp were huge but still tender and there were 6 of them where I would have expected 3. The only reason I'm not giving the 5th star is the ambiance. Fourno's is doing a wonderful job taking a piece of sidewalk and turning it into a dining area... love the big umbrellas and the festive Greek music... it's fun to watch people walking by take a moment to dance a bit to the music. Still, you can't help but notice that, despite fantastic efforts, you're seated in kind of a side street and the back lot is a little rough around the edges. Please don't let that stop you from giving them a try though. They are 5 star in every other category! Opa!
