Great breakfast downtown. Old school value. Great owners that work with regular clientele that keep coming back. Good portions - done well.

I walked in placed an order at the register and it was ready within 5 minutes. I tried the lamb souvlaki sandwich with a side of potatoes. The sandwich was good but I was expecting something more filling, it was a little thin and unfortunately got soggy on my 10 mins drive back to the rink. The potatoes while way bigger than I was anticipating were tasty. I should have gotten a piece of baklava because it looked amazing! I thought about it all night. If I am back in the area I would like to dine in, they have a great menu and the restaurant sits on the water with pretty views.

Two souvlaki platters, totalling just under $40. Upon getting home and opening the containers we were severely underwhelmed with what we got. A small scoop of rice and three quarters of a whole potato, next to one skewers worth of meat. It also came with bread and a salad, all of which still equalling a sad portion to have spent the amount of money we did. We called the restaurant right away and spoke our concerns, asking if this was a regular portion... The lady on the other end of the phone stated yes, it was correct. We asked if we could return it as we were unhappy and she proceeded on a rant about how they would not take it back because they wouldn't be able to do anything with it, how we must have bigger appetites than usual, and what did we expect? I have been to Joe Feta's and for the same price received at minimum three times as much food. Every time I tried to speak she spoke over me, even started raising her voice and threatened to hang up on me. Needless to say, I finished my entire meal not long ago and I am sitting here with a rumbling belly. (Not that it matters, but I weigh under 120 lbs, so not like I usually eat a ton...) To be honest, the chicken was very bland on top of it all. Will not be returning.

I can't put my finger on it but it's just weird and very out of place. The wait staff was lovely, although when a friend asked for honey for her tea she wasn't given any alternatives for sweeteners, even though they had sugar. And the restaurant is very large so lots of seating and not super packed together either. We went in winter so not surprised at the temperature but it was very cold inside. All in all I'd only go again if there were no other options and I'd be satisfied but not blown away by any means.

The Greek salad is not authentic made in house, It's a bottle dressing they get from "somewhere" in Toronto (which found out after I ordered it ). The one skewer of chicken you get felt chewy and smelt foul taking it off the wooden skewer. I asked my spouse and kids to smell it and they agreed it didn't smell right. The waitress came by to ask how was our lunch was and I said to her | think there's something wrong with this chicken. She smelt it and she took both of our plates away right away and said it's gone bad! she came back and told us the chefs threw out the rest of yesterday's chicken and agreed that it was rotten... They don't make fresh chicken skewers every day?? She said let me get you a new plate and I'll put Gyro meat on it instead. It was very salty and it wasn't what I wanted to order, but I didn't want to make more of a fuss.. Our grown kids ordered Gyro sandwiches with a salad/fries and they said those were enjoyable. The waitress came with the bill, but there was no bill just a machine $156 and hit 18% 25% 30% tip, etc. I asked if I could look over my bill and review it. She and said oh you want your bill? When a customer is paying $150 plus on a sit down lunch you should be presented a bill to look over. The waitress and another young waitress who heard all about it from back kitchen apologized for serving rotten chicken but yet nothing was compensated? I still left her a tip but felt ripped off spending nearly $200 on hard earned money for mediocre food that was not even authentic Greek food. I could've got the same or better in a food court. They didn't even take a drink off the bill or even provide a complimentary desert to make things right. I felt they didn't handle this situation very well

Walking home, we spotted Yianni's storefront and resolved to head there for breakfast in the morning - it looked cozy, and they had a breakfast menu plastered right outside! Arriving was a totally different experience, however. To be fair, we were there on a wednesday morning - but we were literally the only diners there (and the town was bustling with some sort of photography group...hundreds of people with cameras? Who knows). I was initially excited for what I was assuming to be a great little greasy-spoon greek breakfast spot. Turns out I was wrong on that account. The waitress ushered us to our table, asking if we would like a coffee. Of course, we said yes before even sitting down - however I would later find out that coffee was $2.50 a cup for mediocre diner-style brew. Ehhh, not impressed, and the way she said it I assumed (like at plenty of breakfast spots) that it was included. My fault for assuming, but whatever. Anyhow, when she came back I was quite excited to order the egg breakfast. I don't eat meat (and there was no plain egg dish without it), so I asked if I might be able to sub the bacon for another side, or an extra egg, or anything really. Bowl of fruit? whatever. Her response kind of bothered me, however: "Absolutely no substitutions." Seriously? Who says that? Roll it off your tongue, right now. You just -feel- rude. Needless to say I was disenchanted at the idea of paying $7 for two eggs and toast (no coffee, homefries extra, of course). After her little rebuttal, she said matter-of-factly that "if you don't eat meat, you should get an omelette." $10-13 for the omelette. Well, OK. $13 for breakfast is no big deal. Oh wait, that doesn't come with homefries either? Grumpily, my girlfriend and I each ordered a side of homefries for an extra $1.50 each. To her credit, the omelette didn't take long to make and it was in front of me pretty soon. There was plenty of feta in my Mediterranean omelette, and it was pretty tasty. The homefries, however, were FROM A BAG. We're talking McCain/Cavendish variety here. Not only that, they BURNED THEM into crunchy little cubes of grease, with little-to-no fluffy potato interior. It was actually like eating grease-soaked potato chips. I had heartburn for HOURS. I was unimpressed when the bill unceremoniously showed up at $38. I'm sorry, but $5 for two uninspiring coffees, over $15 per omelette... ...I would have paid that for an incredible, fresh, lovely breakfast at some inn by the lake. But given the atmosphere and the service and the quality of what I actually put in my mouth... ...PASS.
