DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! George tried ripping off my grandma for over five times the price that the repair should of cost. Also he lied about what needed to be fixed. He told me that the condensor motor needed to be replaced and it would cost $1600. That sounded INSANE to me so i started doing some research. I came across another company that came out and found the problem and he fixed it right away. We just needed the capacitor to be replaced. $285 later and it was working again. I'm so sick of companies trying to take advantage of my grandma because they see that it's just two women living here, one being an elderly women. I contacted George's AC late one afternoon when my rooftop HVAC stopped working on a very hot day a few weeks ago. George Jr came out the next day to check & repair the unit. He inspected the unit & found there had been a fire in the unit & he took pictures & a movie to show me the damage. Amazingly, he was able to arrange to have a new unit , a team of installers & a crane arranged to arrive and replace it the following day. The crew was professional and did a great job. Had an appointment with George today to fix my central air conditioner . He was a no-show, but I think it's a blessing in disguise!

I called to have someone look at my heater. George gave me a window of 2 hours between 5-7pm. Earlier that day I text him could I get between 4-6. He text back" liked" I thought this was unprofessional!! I should of got a text back yes or no! When it came close to 7:00 I called and text, no answer, no response until after 8:00pm with an apology because of an emergency!! I understand emergencies but I should not have been left hanging!! My lawyer recommended this guy and by the yelp reviews I was a little nervous. He came by, looked at my AC unit and said what every other AC repair guy has said. Unit needs to be replaced except he says it's a 5 ton instead of a 3 or 4 like everyone else. Ok fine. Our home insurance company called this company to get the size they recommended and some other info. However! They wouldn't even talk to them! They didn't want to get involved with our situation (seller sold us a house with a bad ac unit). They wouldn't have gotten involve, my insurance company just needed some info. but whatever. It looked bad on my part that this company wouldn't even give them some info. so I could possibly get a new unit from my home warranty company so one star it is. read more

I called this one for a second opinion, due to the fact that my central heating unit would turn on then turn off within seconds and I initially called Pennies Ac and heating which their service call was $100 and they had to order a part, quoting us $860 for the part and labor. We had to wait a week for the part to be delivered to them and once the part was received they said it didn't need it after all. Their technician just banged the hell out of a part, said it works fine and that it was due to the system needing a deep cleaning which would've cost $1,180. That same night the heater stopped working again so we canceled the appointment for the deep cleaning. Then I called George's AC & Heating and spoke to George Jr at 7:30am and scheduled a service call for the same day from 12pm to 2pm for $75. I was called at 9:00am by technician Joel asking if we were available at 9:30am, which we were. He came, diagnosed the problem, picked up the needed part, and was done in less than an hour. Total bill was $550 with a 1 year warranty. BTW no deep cleaning was needed,, Heater is working great,, Thank you Joel for your expertise and honesty. Bad bad, a buyer of a home was worried the AC system was not working so he called George who said the 4 week lld thermostat was bad and a new condenser fan was bad causing the interior vents to not blow. Spoke to George who did not explain how these were causing any problems except the wall temp is 2 degrees lower than the thermostat reading which reads ambient temperature. Also fan was within ohms spec but he said it was overheating because his IR temp probe said it was too hot on a 100 degree day.. Quoted $650 to replace both working parts when parts are $150 and about and hour labor. Held up close of escrow after another company came out and gave the unit a clean bill.od health. I've had this company to do work at my house twice. 1st time was amazing. Loved the mom and pop vibe, George jr was very knowledgeable on the job. This 2nd time I called them for a routine check up, they aren't the cheapest, but I like to help small companies out especially during this time. Wasnt the best decision. My check up was about 5 mins long which included checking freon levels and a quick wash of my condenser. After I was told I was low on freon, I payed them to fill it up. Later that night my compressor starting to squeal, and ac stopped working after 12hrs of filling. After they came back 2 days later the fix was to release the high pressure that wasnt checked the 1st time, during that process the liquid sprayed all over my window, bbq, and outdoor equipment, I was told my system was failing because I had my bbq within 2 feet of my condenser (which I wasnt told to move during my check up). No they didnt offer to help clean the mess, and it left me with the feeling of did they just dump all the freon I payed for 2 days ago? All and all I will sadly be calling a major company next time i do my check up. Wish everyone was as good as George jr. read more

Instinct told me to get a 2nd opinion. Thank God, I listened. George's Air told us we needed 2 new motors and a fan. Our air had not worked for 1 week. Their price to us was $750.00. My Husband was told both motors and the fan were fried and 1 motor fried the other. I called 3 more places and was told all 3 times that this never happens and it sounds like we are being taken. Georges Air was very anxious to do the job. I decided to get a 2nd opinion, and within 30 min. my air was working and the other company said the switch in our attic was broken, causing the air not to work. They disconnected the switch and the air was fine. They charged me a service call fee of $49.50 and our air has been working ever since. When George's Air ask me to still cover the service call fee, I told him I was planning to report their co. to the Better Business Bureau and local news stations. I don't like writing "bad reviews", but felt this one was needed so other innocent people don't get taken for their hard earned money. Honest companies will be in business for many years to come, but companies like this, who try to deceive people will not be around due to their undermining ethics. George said it was his associate who did the inspection. Then he called to apologize to me for the wrong diagnosis. He said he just got out of air conditioning school. Why then was he not being "shadowed" by the owner??????. I was actually crying, as I believed companies are honest and we have only 1 income. I felt sick to my stomach and my husband wants to call the National Association of Contractors Board as well. read more

George was hired by a buyer of a home we were selling. We previously had the air conditioning system services with a new contactor, cleaning and thermostat and it worked great. When the buyers were going to close escrow, they felt that the AC didnt blow hard enough. Their agent hired a licensed tech who said that it was in working order. The buyers not trusting that opinion called George. He came out and determited that the condensor fan and thermostat were bad and wanted $650 to replace those items and said that needed to be done for the AC to work correctly. Having some technical experience, I called George who was pleasent on the phone. I asked him how he determined those items were bad. First we said the thermostat was 2 degrees off since the wall temp was different than what the thermostat showed which is an incorrect way to test an thermostat as t-stats take air temp, not wall temp which can vary. As for the fan, he said it was overheating by 20 degrees which was not out of the ordinary on a hot day. I then asked if he took an OHMS reading and he said it was 1.3 amps and climbing. The motor is rated for 1.3A-1.8Amps, thus nothing was wrong with the fan. So He quoted 150 for labor (which was a fair price), $50 to unnecessarily replace a 4 week old working thermostat, and $450 for a 1/4hp 825rpm fan- the same fan can be purchased for $100 online or $140 at the parts house such as Johnnstones AC supply. So basically, George pushed unnecessary repairs, and was charging $450 for a fan he paid approx $125 for- nice profit margin! The agent did get him to drop the price by $100 total as the buyers refused to close escrow until it was completed. We did pay part of the unnecessary repairs and the buyers agent had to cover the rest. Please do yourself a favor and find an AC tech who actually will be honest by not replacing unnecessary parts to lighten your wallet. STAY CLEAR OF GEORGE'S AC SERVICE. read more
