I have dealt with George's for more than 30 years; since back when they were located on Fair Oaks. I have always received great customer service from them, and once again the quality and courtesy of their service has been proven. I had selected and ordered a number of items from Mike R. at George's for a bathroom remodel, but when my existing fixtures were removed, I realized that my design needed to be rethought. I returned/exchanged several of the items, and George's was so considerate of my indecisiveness! So nice to have a local dealer with a big, beautiful showroom and helpful, courteous staff. They tried to sell me the wrong part because they didn't have the right one or weren't willing to order it. I got a call from Bob, the manager of the sale department, after my initial review. I accepted his apology and thought it was nice for them to acknowledge it. However, when my Thermasol unit indeed have some problems a months later, I gave Bob a call at Thermasol's suggestion and was shocked to hear the same Bob changed to someone really nasty. He attacked me for not buying all the plumbing products from them and claimed the unit was perfect and I hired a bad installer, etc. I was literally speechless. In contract, the Thermasol service department did their investigation and acknowledged some issues with the control and offered to exchange it. Then, Bob did not send me the sales record for my warranty claim as promised until I called him again a week later. During my follow up call, I got another round of nasty comment. Well, this is going to be my last review on them. I can only say the sales department upstairs at George really needs some work to live up to their name. To be fair though, the part team downstairs there is very good and helpful. (Original comment) Bought a thermosol steam unit from this store. We have a simple question regarding the unit to ask during the installation. When I called, the salesperson who was very nice when I bought the unit turned very rude. He did not tired to understand my question and nor did he bother to check the model I bought. He made comment implying I am stupid and the installer I hired was not licensed. This place sucks!! I was there looking for some faucet waiting to get a quick question answer. The guy at the parts when on and on with another customer. Dude, I just have a quick question on what kind of adapter I need. I waited 15 minutes and still the they kept on talking away. Poor customer service would never go back again. Buyer BEWARE. There is a 35% "restocking fee" for returns on all items (even unopened ones). This fee is NOT posted, NOT included on any documentation, and NOT explained at checkout. If you want to exchange rather than return, the "restocking fee" goes down to 25%. Avoid going to this place. Unfortunately, they have delayed the completion of my bathroom by 3+ months and they have NOT tried very hard to rectify the utter failure to deliver on their promise! I ordered a bathroom vanity from Villeroy and Boch as recommended by George's plumbing salesperson. I was told it will take 4-6 weeks. I waited. I checked-in. Now, I'm being told, the manufacturer isn't sure when the vanity will be done. 8-9 weeks total go by, and then, I was told that the vanity would not be in for another 6 weeks... maybe! Uhhh, I don't think so! I cancelled my order. I have been without a sink in my bathroom for over 2 months! My contractor and I had to initiate all the follow-ups. The manufacturer didn't seem to care. Salesperson from George's plumbing basically explained it wasn't their responsibility. Very unprofessional. So unacceptable. The salesperson did try to give me one alternative solution. She presented it within 24 hours of cancelling my original order. With more than two months squandered, I desperately told her that I was interested right away and to look into it. Two days go by and I don't hear from her. She had a day off. No problem, but she did not tell me and once again I'm having to follow-up to find out what is going on. As it turned out, the alternative solution was not going to work out. This was the only time she actually apologized. Her manager never contacted me. That was it. Customer service was not bad when they were trying to get my business. After they charged me, the customer service was sadly, indifferent. The way they dealt with situation basically communicated, "Too bad for me and my family." Now I'm back to square one, but minus 3 months and still no sink in my bathroom. :( Don't do business here! read more

We really had no idea what we were doing when we set out to update our bathrooms. We had recently purchased a home which had some very outdated and non-functional bathrooms. I am very grateful to George's! I was remodeling my bathroom. I ordered a custom sink from Snyder diamond. They completely botched my order. My contractor needed the materials that day. Unbeknownst to me, The owner rescued me. They had just mounted a brand-new sink and cabinet with plumbing connected that day. The dimensions style and color were perfect. The sales person was not sure if he could sell me this item that was just mounted. He called over the owner. He gave me an incredible deal! He also included all the plumbing and mounting I needed for the job that day. I would have had to pay my contractor for a day lost. It wasn't until I looked up the yelp account to write a review, that I found out the man that helped me was the owner. I am eternally grateful! I am remodeling my kitchen next. Professional. Excellent customer service. Great businesses withstand the test of time and this is one of them. I discovered George's in 2005, when I purchased many of their products from sinks to kitchen and bathroom faucets for several historic homes we restored in the Pasadena area. Joe Eginton is a wonderful asset to this business as he is very organized and really knows his products. My experience has been that many of their vendors stand behind their products. I agree with the previous reviewer who said this place doesn't even deserve one star! We were given a recommendation to go here, so we did. The place was a madhouse! So many people and definitely not enough employees to help. When we were looking at the displays, my husband bent over to get a closer look, and accidentally hit his head on a fixture, which cause a laceration and bleeding. We desparately tried to get help from anyone, all we wanted was a bandaid, but could not get the attention of a single employee! We left in disgust and will never go back! read more

I most recently worked with Beth whose impressive knowledge and attention to detail was without fault. Depending on your application and needs, Beth offers sound recommendations, follows up on your order and lets you know the moment it arrives. Lane in the parts department is a guru. He has saved us a fortune by helping us to repair or replace small parts. You will not find anyone like Lane or the level of service and quality at Home Depot. read more

Lester in Sales helped me find an upgraded replacement for a busted fancy shmancy toilet (the breakage was my fault and it was out of warranty) on the same day. Lester was responsive, responsible and even called back a couple times to make sure we were ok. We live in a 100 year old house with ONE bathroom and he knew the urgency of our needs. I am a building contractor in South Pasadena. I have shopped and referred clients to George's Plumbing for 25 years. The reason I shop and refer my clients to George's is that they only carry quality plumbing parts and accessories and are very knowledgeable as to what they are selling. When we build a custom house it is very important that all the parts match in style and finish. I feel confident when a client orders at George's because I know the order will be right and if their is a problem they will get it fixed right away. If a shower mixing valve is too short for the thickness of the tile wall. I send the plumber there and most of the time they will have the correct part in stock. If a fixtures comes in with a defect they will get another one shipped out the next day or often time be able to trade out some exiting stock they have to make it work. Many of my clients are going to the internet these days to save money. I don't blame them for trying to save money but each of the three times I allowed my clients to shop on line there was a problem with the order and it delayed our installation by a couple weeks or at least a few days. I also explain to my clients that George;'s will help you if you have a warranty problem. For example I have had fixtures break after they are installed. Many times I have been able to talk to my salesperson at George's and have them swap one out of one they have in stock till the right part comes in. This is so valuable and my clients appreciate it so much when they are able to get a broken part fixed sometimes the same day. All the people at George's are great but I specifically recommend Joe or Bob in sales and Lane with parts if you need something special or are trying to match an old part. I purchased bathroom hardware and a sink from George's about 5 1/2 years ago. Recently, we noticed a very thin crack in the sink. We went back to George's for their help. We were told it was six months past the end of the warranty and that the crack was likely due to something heavy being dropped on the sink. Nothing ever dropped on the sink and I told that to the salesperson. The response from the George's employee was "EVERYBODY SAYS THAT". You accuse me with no evidence that I am lying to you?!! The owner then appeared and told me to contact the manufacturer. Were they too busy to help by contacting the company on behalf of a customer? There wasn't another person in the store!! I contacted the company and sent pictures of the sink. They sent a replacement sink at no charge. To the employee at George's, you are very rude. To the owner, your customer service is terrible. You and your employees really have a bad attitude as so many people have reported on this website. read more

Initially went to George's last spring for fixtures to outfit the bathrooms I remodeled this summer. Sales guy was nice at first. But as we went over what I needed he became increasingly condescending as he seemed to disqualify me from the gold faucet/marble bidet crowd. In other words, my preference for reliability over gaudiness didn't seem to fly there. (Well, as Steve Martin says, excuuuuuuse meeeeee!) So I did some research and found just about everything I needed via www.efaucets.com (the rest from Amazon), and at a considerable discount from the prices offered by retailers such as this glorified outhouse outfitter. Best of all, I didn't have to suffer a toilet salesman looking down his nose at me and I didn't have to pick up anything since UPS brought it all to my office quickly, in good shape and mostly without charge! This was my first time to the iconic George's Plumbing Supply and Showroom. They have a great selection of high end european fixtures. (I'll give them that). But I went in there specifically to look at their Bain Ultra tubs. I'm looking for a centerpiece tub for my master bath remodel and had an informative conversation with the Bain Ultra manufacturers who referred me to George's, for both geographical proximity and availability of specific models recommended for my needs. There were only three Bain Ultra tubs to sit in. None were labelled with model names or specifications. After about 15 minutes of being ignored, I finally asked one of the "salesman" to assist me. He was uninformed about this product, to say the least and unenthusiastic as well. And as George himself walked by to answer one of my questions, you'd think that I was begging him to accept the $6-7k burning a hole in my pocket. What nerve I have! Listen, when you're ready to purchase just head on down to P___ch in Glendale where you'll be greeted with a complimentary beverage, an offering of cooking classes and a chance to try out one of their tubs, in their private sanctuary! Owing to some very negative reviews I went to one of George's Pasadena competitors first, and had such an unpleasant experience that I decided to try George's, especially since my contractor had recommended them. What a difference here from S/D! I was fortunate to have Paynal Ward, who has decades of experience in this field, as my sales guide. Since I had never remodeled any rooms before, I was a "newbie," but this did not bother Mr. Ward. He made valid suggestions; never pressured me. He made delivery promises that he kept, unlike the other source. As others have indicated, this place offers high end fixtures, so if you are looking for any old faucet, this is not Home Depot glorified. I was particularly interested in buying as many items as possible that were made in the USA. and Mr. Ward showed me the possibilities. I did buy bathroom sinks made in CA, but ended up with a Swiss-made faucet because steel was used instead of plastic for the pull-out sprayer. If you are looking for a vast selection of quality items, yet need some guidance, I highly recommend working with Paynal Ward. read more
