    The Greek picnic
    Melissa R.

We've been to George's Place for breakfast but never for dinner. When I looked online, I was thrilled we could make reservations for dinner although they do require that you reserve with a credit card. After walking to George's, we were told that we were at the wrong location. Our reservation was for the George's near the Acme on Ocean Street. Apparently, customers frequently make this mistake. (The one on Beach Avenue is only open for breakfast and lunch.) When we made it to George's on Ocean Street, the ambiance was just okay although we loved the Greek-inspired menu. We ordered the Greek picnic for two which featured many delicious appetizers and was $20 per person. We ended up taking some of it home for lunch the next day. The chilled octopus salad, spanakopita, feta, hummus, and more were all wonderful. We also shared the Pikilia mixed grill which had a variety of meats such as lamb chops, pork ribeye, and chicken souvlaki. For two people, the small at $25 was perfect. Bring a good bottle of wine and enjoy! The food is priced well, well portioned, and authentically Greek. Please be aware, though, that this restaurant is cash only.

Made reservations but not needed this early, Note! Cash only and BYOB. Spouse had the chicken and I got the fish, and a side of the lemon potato, Too much food. Every thing was good if not great. Service was attentive with out being obtrusive. We shall be having fried potatoes and chicken for breakfast.

What we got: Lemon Chicken Greek Salad Tiramisu Waffles Limoncello French Toast Gyro Pita Came to this location after seeing the one closer to the beach had a long wait. We waited only 15 minutes to be seated in this location. Service was okay but we enjoyed the food! We started with the limoncello french toast as an appetizer and it was light and refreshing! The gyro and the tiramisu was good as well. I didn't taste any lemon or anything citrusy in the lemon chicken Greek salad but the salad itself was good.

Large portions and good prices. The salads were large enough for two. Love their breakfast too!

Amazing service and food. The French fries are homemade and delicious. Gyro was one of better ones I have had. Friendly and helpful staff.

***CASH ONLY*** I…read moredon't know who George is, but he has one hell of cool indoor/outdoor eatery! My love and I sauntered here for brunch on a Sunday around noon. We must have just missed the morning breakfast crowd, because we were seated (outdoors) within 10 minutes. The view of the bay is nice! Nice airflow and fully covered. - Veggie Pita - almost too pretty to eat! Fresh vegetables, a hearty side salad, and house-cut French fries. I loved the side of hummus - Jackie O Omelet - baby spinach with tomato and feta cheese. The hash browns were of the shredded variety. So good! - Blueberry Pancake - we split this as a sweet treat. Light and fluffy! - Cold brew iced coffee - not bitter at all Very reasonable prices. The chefs at George's know that you eat with your eyes first. Beautiful presentations! We enjoyed watching the fishing charters and other boats depart. Street parking, as the lot on the property is reserved for boat charters. We had no issue finding a spot across the street. Thanks, George!

The hash-browns were shredded and crispy. The sausage was served crispy. The waffle was topped with whipped cream, bananas and Nutella perfection. Our server was sweet, attentive and happy. The outdoor seating area needs some little clear plastic wire that hangs down from the roof to the railing and the seagull fiasco would totally be avoided.

So back to the attraction this may not be south street Souvlaki but the pleasure I derived from sn absolute master piece of street food was magnificent. The fax it's made with a vertical broiler and not faked is what I'm talking about. Combine with fresh pita bread and a tangy tzatziki sauce made this one of those spiritual moments. Service was perfect server took my drink order cut to the chase as I was solo took my order and off we went she brought my large drink over and the food arrived promptly and properly. I got fries and to tell the truth if they had been anything but shoestring fried it would have been a fifth star but they weren't and they were on the edge of being under done still not too bad at least they were hot just not much to a shoestring fry and for such a healthy sized gyro rt he fried didn't stand up now that's just my opinion others may love shoe string fries I prefer crinkle cut. Anyway the atmosphere was a Friday nite on the boardwalk it was ripping and roaring. Everyone was super friendly I highly recommend if you're in wildwood and happen to be around the part that bends by cedar stop and check The original Hot spot I'm Pretty sure I've been choking there for 59 years or so w the family hen taking my wife all during the 80s 90s on and on till now that we moved down here the tradition continues

This caught our…read moreeye because it had quite an extensive menu (which could be a positive/negative), but also because the guy at the front mentioned they specialize in gyros. This spot has a ton of fried foods. My cousins also ordered food from here. It's fine. All the prices here are pretty on par with the area. I got a chicken gyro with fries and coleslaw (combo meal). I was pretty satisfied for the night. Fries came out hot, which is a plus. Chicken gyro was very filling. The coleslaw was also fine for what it is. Will definitely order this again. The inside seemed okay. Some outdated, but this is a spot by the beach, so it's not supposed to be fancy. Nothing fancy, just all-around good, old reliable food. When I was using my credit card, they added all these additional fees: takeout fee (10%) since I wasn't sitting down and also a credit card fee (3-4%).
