First time visiting and it was wonderful and very nice inside but could be loud because they have high ceilings. The Gnocchi was amazing and Matt our Waiter was fantastic I asked him if I could have a side of spinach which wasn't on menu and he was very nice and said sure no problem. It is a BYOB and brought my wine but they didn't have the stem wine glasses so I asked Matt if he could find me the stem kind and he brought me one for my wine He was very accommodating...I would definitely go here again. I wish I could give this place a 0 star review . The food was absolutely horrendous, food was not even edible. The veal was like rubber, came with no pasta . The Alfredo pasta with chicken (of course had to pay extra for the chicken) did not even have Alfredo sauce on it . I called the store to talk about it , they told me a manger would call me back and they never did . For 2 meals was over $50. Absolutely not worth the money . SAVE YOUR MONEY. read more

What a great experience we had at Viggiano's on Sunset in Cape May. The beautiful location gives the ambiance of being in someone's home, enjoying a home cooked meal and being treated as an honored guest. We were in Cape May for the Coast Guard basic training graduation. Instead of heading out to a local tourist trap for dinner, we decided on Viggiano's on Sunset. I wanted to order the Seafood Fra Diablo, but I wasn't up for anything too spicy. The chef happily modified the dish and used his delicious family-recipe marinara sauce for me. The dish was absolutely loaded with seafood, which was cooked to perfection. The pasta, of course, was also delicious. Even the bread tasted delightfully fresh! Our server was very helpful in making recommendations and even pouring our BYOB wine for us. We had a very pleasant and relaxing evening at Viggiano's on Sunset! read more

Rustic setting inside, with outdoor seating available can only complement your dining experience that awaits. Greeted with a warm reception by the manager and his staff Carly our waitress was outstanding that we gave her a standing ovation. Now to the food, there are two ways to do this. You order for yourself or for a group. They place the price on the menu for this. Everything we ordered was outstanding see photos. To finish off the meal we ordered espresso, regular coffee and cappuccino. The espresso was one on the best. The regular coffee was cold and watery, Cappuccino machine was broken which is the only negative thing about this experience. But the manager compensated for this, with Lemon Cello shots for the table Salute. Will definitely be back and CAIO FOR NOW. read more

My sister picked the place for a family dinner, and we met at Viggiano's one Saturday night. Overall, we had a very nice dinner. The restaurant was packed and my only real complaint was that the noise level was too high for my liking. But we made due. -We tried the calamari, fried cheese and peppers for appetizers. All were very good. The calamari was very good and the fried cheese was surprisingly good - like a REALLY good mozzarella stick. -I had the gnocchi, which was decent but nothing extraordinary. I thought it was a little dense and gummy, but the sauce was tasty and the serving was huge. -Around the table, people seemed to enjoy their selections, including lasagna, mussels and chicken picatta. -We did dessert. The tiramisu had a lot of whipped cream and marscarpone kind of stuff in it and felt a little out of balance to me, but I'm nitpicking. At the end of the meal, something really weird happened. And I feel obliged to mention it. We split the bill between three credit cards. The waitress came back with my card (one of those heavy metal Visa cards) and said it wouldn't run in the machine. So I gave her my heavy metal Amex card. She came back and said the same thing. Finally I gave her my good old plastic debit card and that ran fine. I later used both metal cards in other places, so it wasn't the cards. I feel like the issue was their POS system being unable to process the new metal cards. But our waitress literally didn't seem to think this was a problem and told me "that's just how the system is" as the reason that I had to be embarrassed in front of my family and had to provide THREE forms of payment (not to mention missing out on my points for the meal out that I would have gotten on my Visa). This place was a miss. Had high hopes for a new option in cape may. We canceled reservation at ebbit room to try this place. We were greeted on arrival and the hostess was Seating us in the corner then proceeded to say she would have to move us to accommodate a large reservation . Why would you seat only to have to reseat. We sat at a high top table which was ok. As we sat down the hostess asked another table of four to move to a different table to accommodate the large party. This is bad planning and terrible customer service especially as they already ordered and poured wine. To the food we started with fried mozzarella and also the calamari . The appetizers came out quick and hot and were flavorful. These were the star of the show. We also ordered a green salad with Gorgonzola on the side. The dressing was good and the salas was fresh. Entrees we ordered veal Parmesan, seafood special fra diavlo, chicken picatta, spinach gnocchi with baby meatballs. All the dishes lacked flavor. The veal were three medallions that were not traditionally breaded and fried only sautéed. These chicken picatta was flat also lacking flavor. The spinach gnocchi was mediocre and the mini meatballs were much like the meatballs that you find in soup. The pasta accompaniment was all al a carte extra charges. All in the dinner for 4 was 248 dollars for a BYOB with two apps and a salad . Fairly average for cape may. The quality of the food and flavor was lacking. First and last trip here. There are too many choices in the area to have a great meal. read more

Came here with another couple for dinner. Be aware it is BYOB, and we had chardonnay. We got a family sized Ceasar salad and all shared it. Very good. Then for mains--2 shrimp and veal, 1 chicken picata and 1 chiken marsala. All very good. Cannolis for desert--gotta have those. Service was very attentive and the atmosphere is positive. Went here for a Saturday night dinner during Cape May Restaurant Week. We ( group of four) all ordered from the three course restaurant week menu. The food was good with one quasi exception , the tiramisu dessert, which isn't bad but was more like a a slightly strange pudding. My main course was a good cream sauce cannelloni. Had Italian Wedding soup as first course. My wife had Chicken Parmigiana which she enjoyed.The place was quite crowded and service was a little clunky ( no big deal). read more

They do red sauce well. The chicken parm was amazing and so was the eggplant dish! Sauce tasted fresh and flavorful. I would not recommend the Alfredo. It had no flavor and was too heavy. It needed something to cut the sauce. Would come again and order something with red sauce. read more

This Italian restaurant at West Cape May is spacious with parking lot, which is a plus. Our waitress was nice and knowledgeable. She explained the menu well. Italian bread: soft and fresh great for dipping. Appetizer: portobello mushroom with crab cake. The mushroom was quite big with a lot of well-seasoned crab meat. Delicious. Entree: veal with shrimp. Rich with Italian seasoning, veal was tender. The roasted red pepper on top elevated the flavor. Highly recommended. Ravioli with meatballs: ravioli were big, meatballs definitely had Italian sausage flavor. Tiramisu was served in a cup, it was very liquid like a soup. read more

I miss the Conshy location! The restaurant is very nice, however the high ceilings and furnishings make it very loud. Two crying babies/children echoed through the place, tables very close so you have to listen to your neighbor's conversations. Food was good, sausage stuffed mushrooms were flavorful, however the carbonera was OK and the lasagna had very little to no meat in it. Maybe it was from the edge of the pan? Server was very hard to understand with broken English. Felt rushed, we were in and out in less than hour. We had to carry our leftovers out in separate boxes, we were not offered a bag like other tables. Sorry, but won't be rushing back. It seems like they are relying on memories of the original location to entice folks (like us) in. There are several better Italian restaurants within walking distance. read more

This is based off our Restaurant Week meal. This place was fantastic. It has a nice upscale and shore shop feel to it. We were seated immediately and our server Pam explained some menu items to us since we were unfamiliar with a few things. The Prix Fixe menu was amazing, we ended up getting: stuffed cheese wedges, aracini, chicken marsala, Lasagna, and Zuchetto. Everything was delicious from start to finish. The only minor criticism I might have is to include some pasta or potatoes with the chicken marsala. But that's just me nitpicking and other than that the restaurant was on their A game. I think our favorite part of the meal was the Zuchetto. It was a very light and airy cake. Very sweet but isn't overbearing like other cakes. It was the perfect way to end the meal. Party of 2 on a Friday night in august. No wait (we had reservations), seated immediately, very professional servers. We've gone here every year since 2018 and we always start with the spicy sausage stuffed mushrooms. They're tasty! Regarding our entrees I'm not sure if the chef was having an off night or if we ordered wrong. We ordered the cavatappi with chicken --- flavorless. Also ordered the chicken cacciatore --- it was more like tomato soup with two chicken breasts. There were hardly no peppers, onions nor mushrooms. read more

A nice byob in Cape May. Kind of off the beaten path, but right on Sunset Blvd. Its not huge, and it can be little noisy, but the food is great, the staff and servers are very friendly. And did I mention its a byob?!?! Will be going back for sure. read more

Excellent Italian food and service -- My husband and I heard that Viggiano's on Sunset was good and decided to try it out during our trip to Cape May. We were blown away by the authentic meals that chef and owner Mark and his staff prepared. Our server, Carmari, was so welcoming and pleasant and took care of us like family. We had the calamari appetizer which was lightly fried and not greasy at all. My husband had chicken cacciatore, and I had Veal Mediterranean. We had broccoli rabe and fettuccine in sauce for our sides. All were excellent. The homemade ricotta cheesecake with strawberry sauce for dessert topped off our meal. And I would be remiss if I forgot to mention the delicious homemade limoncello that Lisa gave us at the end. Since we had such an excellent dinner and experience, we returned 2 days later for our last dinner in Cape May before returning home. Our server, Gia, was just as welcoming and pleasant during our second visit. The chicken cacciatore was so delicious my husband had it again. I had the salmon which was prepared perfectly. This time we had zucchini, broccoli rabe and rigatoni for our sides. Dessert was zucchetto - an Italian layer cake with chocolate and Nutella mousse - so light and delicious. Came here for dinner on a Sunday night. We made a reservation and were seated at the reserved time, unfortunately the table was a high top adjacent to the service and bus station and did not provide the ambiance expected ( other tables were available) The food was good, I had the veal parmigiana and added a side of spaghetti. The veal very tender, the side of spaghetti (which I would not mind paying $8.95 for if it was fresh or homemade pasta) it was boxed and reheated in unsalted water, The fettuccine Alfredo was very good, the cavatappi pasta dishes one with the vegetables and one with the chicken were okay. The bread served was good but only olive oil on the table, no seasoning or butter offered. The service was ok but not as attentive as it should have been. I ordered dessert as it was stated all were homemade, which definitely was not true for the Ricotta Cheesecake ( restaurant supply version) and a cup of coffee. The coffee I was given was not fresh and was decaffeinated not regular which ended the meal on a disappointed note. Went here last night for the first time and hopefully not the last. My husband and I were visiting from out of town and went here based on a recommendation from the gentleman who was the information guide at the top of the WWII fire control tower (Thank you so much!). Husband had the country rigatoni (suggested by another diner who was on his way out as we were getting ready to order - thank you, also!), which he said was fantastic. I had the chicken piccata with a side of sauteed escarole and garlic. It was one of the best meals I have ever had. No breading on the piccata, which made it super light but with a beautifully balanced and flavorful sauce, just delicious. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and amazing food. We are customers of Viggianos. We usually go there for Special Occasions during the year and a few times during the summer. Our last visit was the beginning of May. We made a reservation. The food was very low quality. Our fried Calamari was so tough, we couldn't eat it. We ordered a salad which was $16 (wow) Our main meal was the Grande Chicken, peppers and penne pasta. The pasta was overdone and so was the chicken. We told the waitress about the Calamari. She sent over the owner and he told us it was not in season that's why it was so hard. Wow! I make it year round at home and Never had a problem! He finally took it off the bill (Which was kind of him) Very disappointed with everything this time. I even have a rewards card there. Ate here last night and will never go again. It all started with the host who was nothing but rude and put the blame on us because he messed up and set up a table without the high chair we needed. Which truly was no big deal, a 5 second fix but he made it seem like a catastrophe. He insisted that we didn't say we needed one when making the reservation, but we definitely did. As we walk away he says to his staff "that was my mistake" thinking no one in our party heard. So we already didn't start off on the right foot. After we were seated, we were greeted by our waiter, who was very nice and had great customer service! However that didn't make up for the food. The fresh homemade mozzarella was overly salted in the roasted red pepper appetizer we got. I then asked while ordering if they had gluten free pasta the waiter was very nice and knew my sauce also had to change from the meal I ordered due to that having gluten. Again, waiter was great! The food came out and one of the dishes the food was clearly cooked in burnt or reused oil. The garlic was also burnt in one of the dishes. My gluten free meal tasted off, the seafood was way too salty and you could tell it was cooked in old or reused oil. Everyone else agreed their meal was off and didn't taste the best. If you're looking for a good authentic Italian food, don't go here. We should have taken it as a sign that on a Friday night there were empty tables and no wait. read more

We went last night for Cape May restaurant week. I am very picky and don't like Frufru or spicy meals so the big names were out. Hubby asked how I picked this one - stuffed cheese wedges on appetizer menu. Family was like really?! And we're not hopeful. Well those stuffed cheese wedges did not disappoint- they were excellent. Everyone agreed. Everyone had a different app and entree. They were all excellent. I had the chicken parm - thick, tender, and my hubby said he loves the way it was cooked - crunchy on outside and perfect. He inhaled the lasagna along with his zecchetto dessert. I had the cannoli. Everything was excellent. Josh our serve was attentive and personable. Other reviews said loud - yes, but we booked upstairs and it muffled the loudness from downstairs. Everyone agreed we would come back! FYI - entrees do not come with sides - but they are large for the piccolo size. If you wanted you could share a side. Son in law ordered zucchini side for the table and all agreed it was excellent and loved it. read more

This place is great. My family enjoyed dining at this nice little Italian restaurant. We sat outside at a table with an umbrella, which was perfect as it was very lightly raining. The staff was very friendly, you could tell that they really cared and about making our experience a pleasant one. I ordered the rigatoni with muscles, it was excellent. The sauce really tasty, perfect for dipping my bread in. I was really glad Viggiano's offered reservations. This put my family and I at ease. The majority of the restaurants in Cape May aren't taking reservations and the wait times were 2 hours at some that we walked up to. Also, it's BYOB, which we loved! Our waitress opened up our wine bottles for us. Parking was free and there were plenty of spaces. We will definitely be stopping by for dinner next year we we return to Cape May. read more
