Just wanted to give a shout out for a great gyro, yeah yeah it's on the boardwalk now mind you I've had what I feel is the best from south street Souvlaki but this isn't philly. So back to the attraction this may not be south street Souvlaki but the pleasure I derived from sn absolute master piece of street food was magnificent. The fax it's made with a vertical broiler and not faked is what I'm talking about. Combine with fresh pita bread and a tangy tzatziki sauce made this one of those spiritual moments. Service was perfect server took my drink order cut to the chase as I was solo took my order and off we went she brought my large drink over and the food arrived promptly and properly. I got fries and to tell the truth if they had been anything but shoestring fried it would have been a fifth star but they weren't and they were on the edge of being under done still not too bad at least they were hot just not much to a shoestring fry and for such a healthy sized gyro rt he fried didn't stand up now that's just my opinion others may love shoe string fries I prefer crinkle cut. Anyway the atmosphere was a Friday nite on the boardwalk it was ripping and roaring. We were in Wildwood on the boardwalk looking around at a decent spot to get food. This caught our eye because it had quite an extensive menu (which could be a positive/negative), but also because the guy at the front mentioned they specialize in gyros. This spot has a ton of fried foods. My cousins also ordered food from here. It's fine. All the prices here are pretty on par with the area. I got a chicken gyro with fries and coleslaw (combo meal). I was pretty satisfied for the night. Fries came out hot, which is a plus. Chicken gyro was very filling. The coleslaw was also fine for what it is. Will definitely order this again. The inside seemed okay. Some outdated, but this is a spot by the beach, so it's not supposed to be fancy. Nothing fancy, just all-around good, old reliable food. When I was using my credit card, they added all these additional fees: takeout fee (10%) since I wasn't sitting down and also a credit card fee (3-4%). read more

Don't be fooled by the other Hot Spots. This is the original. Owned by generations of the same family that started it decades ago. This may be the only place to get a real Greek gyro for miles and certainly on the Wildwood boardwalk. They have a huge dining room with views of the heart of the big Arawak, ocean, and beach. So obviously, we didn't check reviews when we were seeking dinner options given the ratings on this place. We stepped inside because it's super close to the amusement park and the kids were hungry. Looked like this place had plenty of seats and could fit our party of eight. Hostess was engaging and took care of us immediately. It was interesting that when we asked for water, like regular cups at any place, they gave us a bottle of water. We noticed other patrons had the same. Guess that's how they make extra money. So beware and just ask if there is tap water versus bottled water. We ordered the greek platter and the linguine with chicken parm. The greek platter comes with various meats, onions, tomato, lettuce, pita bread and fries. Definitely a good sharing meal and was quite delicious. Pleasantly surprised because this place just looked like a diner and pizza shop. The linguine with chicken parm was just okay. It was a large piece of chicken and decently flavored. The surprised winner was the greek platter. The pita was warm too. What?! We had asked them to get two separate checks between our two families but he misunderstood and just showed the breakdown instead. There is just something about this place that makes it my favorite spot on the boardwalk. Whether it's for dinner, before we walk around for a couple of hours, or for breakfast on a morning bike ride this place always hits the spot. Friendly staff at the counter and quick waitress service. The dining room is deceptively large with air conditioning in the back and a beautiful ocean view, perfect for a large group. Aside from the dining room being clean and cool the menu has a little something for everyone. The food is always fresh, fast and never disappoints. We just dined here a few days ago and I really think these are the best fries in Wildwood. I'm already thinking about our next Hot Spot meal. read more

For three slices of big, crispy crusted pizza and 3 sodas the bill was about $24. Not bad. We have been coming to this place for years and prefer this specific Hot Spot over the others. The service was not bad considering how busy it was around 7:30pm on a Friday night. Almost all tables were filled yet we were seated immediately. Food was delicious but again, we only ever order pizza here and never feel disappointed. Never tried the other foods besides that so I can/will only speak about that. Place is big with large tables. Was seated right away. Ordered a Pepsi (NO FREE REFILLS). The pizza slices aren't that big. I got a broccoli and chicken bacon ranch. They both lacked flavor. I guess with all the options for pizza on the boardwalk, It was my mistake for choosing a place with such a wide variety menu and not a place that specializes in pizza. Oh well, lesson learned. Prices were really good. Waitstaff were great. All European and here for the summer to work. Interesting talking to them! Fantastic that they have a lot of gluten free options on the boardwalk. I give this place a zero star but unfortunately that wasn't an option. The so called "owner" mocked and laughed at our party because I called them out on their stupidity and wrong doing. We ordered ONE pizza to go and they mistakenly gave us four pizzas to go, which absolutely made no sense. I've ate at the other hot spot a block over and I've never been this disappointed. The service wasn't very good we had the waitress come to the table once, then to bring the bill. We had to ask other staff for butter, jelly, our toast which came out 5 minutes after our food. All right be brought out by different people. The toast wasn't fresh and the butter was on the side cold and hard. My omelet was half cold, burnt, and over cooked. The potato's had bad spots and the food left a very bad taste in my mouth. Son took over the family business and ran it straight into the ground. He's not fit to run it and totally ruined everything his father built. We order and he wouldn't even let us sit in the air conditioned area while we were waiting. He got super mouthy and rude that he almost caught hands for it. He then got scared and called all the guys in the back out to set up a perimeter in front of the Hot Shart for protection. It was laughable. Did I mention we were literally his only customers for the whole 45 mins we were waiting for our food. I recommend this place! We ordered 2 cheese steaks and an order of fries to go, the place was really busy and the lady who took our order misheard our order. So we got only one cheese steak and fry. Anyway the guys cooking were pretty awesome and interactive and they made us the second cheese steak on the fly (paid for) and an extra free order of fries. If you go to Wildwood and are on the boardwalk, you will come across Hot Spot. I had their gyro and it did not disappoint. I wish it had a bit more meat but overall, it was a solid gyro with a lot of tzatziki just the way I like it. The server was friendly and service was fast. If you don't want to eat inside, you can order at the counter. If you eat in the dining room, I recommend you sit towards the back where you will get a nice view of the beach/ocean. read more

Not impressed with their establishment at all. Poor service. Restaurant was dirty (not from recent customers).. Manager on duty was rude and refused to allow us to cancel our drink order once it was discovered that we were unable to eat at their establishment due to allergies.
