Went to George's tonight with my family of 8. We were first customers at 6:15 but by 7:30 the restaurant was almost full. Food and drinks took over 2 and 1/2 hrs. Overall good was impressive. Excellent Greek salad. Good pesto pasta. Great enchilada. Fresh fish was tender and delicious with rice and veggies. Pizza was basic but my 79 year old mom or a kid would probably like it. But the best were the churros. Soo tender and dipping sauces with vanilla ice cream. Really good overall. 1 bad thing, the servers are not warm and welcoming. Almost stand off ish. The only warm employee was the bartender. If the service improved to a more welcoming atmosphere, I'd rate this 5 stars . read more

The salsa was homemade and very good. Ceviche was the best we had on the trip. The tempura fish sandwich tasted like it was breaded and cooked when I ordered it. Food was good but given the day before we had been in Los cabos near the arch and we had visited a place that specializes in making aquachile, the aguachile here seemed liked a waterdown version of the real thing. The pulpo ala plancha was ok, not much of a grilled taste but good, too bad they had decided to add an aioli all over the pulpo, thisntakes away from the flavor of the octopus. The ceboche rojo was defined very good. For an eatery 5 mins away from my hotel it was fine. Although they offered us dessert and we really wanted to try the churros. They were not able to make it due to not having the dough ready??? Anyways, the beers were ice cold, server was somewhat not very thoughtful and lacked attentiveness, not a bad spot for quick lunch if you dont want to travel. read more

The ambiance and vibe here is very Cabo. Perfect feel of a Mexican beach town. The restaurant is very clean, with a cute outdoor area. Service was a 10. Everyone here was so friendly, and they were on it. If you even looked their way, someone was coming over to check on you. Medel was so helpful, and Charlie islas was an excellent server. He had great recommendations and knowledge about their wine and cocktail menu. He even customized my drinks as I don't like Mezcal. The food here tastes as good as it looks. Everything we tried was delicious and had a beautiful presentation. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience. If you're staying at Secrets (or anywhere else nearby), do yourself a favor and dine at George's. We're currently staying at the Secrets Resort and needed to give our stomachs and palates a much needed break. I could not be happier with our experience at George's. The food, drinks, service, ambiance, and price were great. We each had the catch of the day, which happened to be Mahi Mahi served over a bed of Quinoa, topped with Spinach, and a side of vegetables. Not happy at all with the service we received at George's. Asked for avocado toast with a sunny side egg on the side. The egg came and it was overcooked meaning the yellow was firm, not sunny side. Showed it to the waiter and he basically had no comment. We didn't eat the egg. He brought the bill with the egg still on the bill. Asked him to remove it and got major attitude and over delay of the correct bill. When he came back, I said, thank you and nothing! Appropriately located in Cabofornia this is a nice place on Calle de Tourista serving a mish mash of things with just a hat tip to Mexi-fare by offering Nachos and few enchiladas...big deal. There is some seafood, a burger, some pizzas and a whole lot of conejos that eschew going to eat where the gente goes. It is set in the courtyard of the La Marina Inn formally owned by the late George himself who spent most of his time creating or sponsoring unbridled hedonism to the great delight of the first pilgrims to land in Cabo. The atmosphere now basically channels the legendary Tropicana Motel in Hollywood sans denizens of the night staggering through the door decked out in full outrageous regalia. A moment of silence for George and the denizens. You can check some of the open room doors in the Inn while you dine and see who got Cabo-lucky. Are you craving really good Mexican food? Keep craving. Here, the pitch is seafood, fresh off the boat cooked by dudes as if they were fresh off the boat. Don't be fooled by the ambitious menu, the kitchen can get aburrido in minutes. The Vibe: Loncheria on steroids. The Food: A canasta of totopos (chips to you in that new Guayabera Shirt) arrives Mex-immediately which means after you've been there for 25 minutes. The chips are crisp and thicker than the store boughts. The Pico de Gallo that comes with it in a small ramekin is as lame and tame as Mike Pence. However, in all fairness, our server, a hale fellow, cheerily brought more baskets and more mini ramekins on request and these bar nibbles can be salvaged with a squeeze of lime and a pinch of sea salt. Alas, there is no heat to eat. Menu memorized, specials recited, the orders go in. I ordered a Mariscos Bomba. Why? Because it just sounded good. A Flour Tortilla stuffed with Seafood Medley (always a scary ingredient as I think its the leftovers that didn't sell last week), deep fried with Black Beans and Cream. As most of my favorite food groups were represented I stepped up and asked to have this. This was a beggar's purse of shrimp and scallops gathered together and tied with corn husk dental floss. The beans were blended to a gravy with a Star of David cream design to make all pretty. It was the best thing brought to the table all night besides the check. I wish the order had three of them, better yet, a Baker's dozen along with a straw for the sauce. I expected to be underwhelmed but the dish was elegant, sophisticated and interesting. A little dash of herby Epizote and a gentle kick like a mule wearing booties made this a wonderful dish. The main event was fresh (fingers crossed), sorry ass Sea Bass with Mojo de Ajo (chopped garlic, butter and shredded Basil). It came with some sleepy carrots, mushy overcooked Spanish Rice and a mini pile of gummy Spinach Salad. The fish was crisp on the bottom from having held onto the grill for a click too long. Alas, the Sea Bass was flirting with being dry. My error was in letting George do it. Would I race back? Probably not, by George. read more

Not sure if the reviews here are fake, but the experience was nothing close to their Yelp rating. Avoid unless you have zero other options. The drinks were weak and expensive, and the food was incredibly bland - bordering on inedible. Needed to add salt and lime to every item. They brought out cold steak tacos and a completely wrong order. When we asked to have the order corrected, they threw the cold steak on the grill to reheat it, and ultimately brought back out partially fried fish and shrimp tacos for the other dish - greasy and soft. To top it off, the meal was way overpriced. Very disappointing. There are so many great food options in Cabo - don't waste time or money here. read more

We have been going to Georges for years, and was always a favorite, until recently. The last two trips when we went, we noticed a difference. Favorite items were taken off the menu, prices have increased, and no chips and dips given when you are seated.
