If you're near Medano beach, this place is a must! Don't waste your time with anything on the beach front, take the 5 minute walk down the street and get some top quality dishes. I highly recommend the Marlin Tostada Appetizer for a smaller bite to split. The Mexican Rehilete is a great choice to get a flank steak and a mix of 3 sides of local "sope" style minis. The steak was slightly* over cooked, but it was juicy and very flavorful and I still highly enjoyed it,... just putting it out there, if you're very picky about your steaks, I'd order medium rare for a perfect cook. The garlic and butter shrimp was also delicious. Lots of butter, so be advised, but paired perfectly with the white rice and Veggies for some extra seasoning. I'll definitely be back. read more

This is worth the trek to get to! We walked from the cruise ship terminal to Isabel and we were not disappointed!! Sure an uber would have been easier, but we thought it would be closer than it was. Everything about Isabel made us happy! The service, the drinks and all of the food...amazing!! Everything was fresh and full of flavor. I did a little happy dance at the first sip of my paloma, first dip of my chip and guacamole and definitely with my first bites of the tacos!!! Super cute little spot on a corner, only a handful of tables. Possible for large groups but might take up majority of the space, unless their upstairs patio is useable - which we did not explore. Isabel served as our go to restaurant for several meals during our seven day stay. We were in Cabo san Lucas for a wedding and stayed at the resort across the street. Isabel was a welcome escape from the busy and somewhat expensive entrapments of a resort. The food was fantastic. The service was even better, extremely friendly and funny which kept us coming back. And the ambience was perfect. Kind of a getaway/secret place with just a few tables, but extremely good food. Several members of our wedding party ate there at various times during the week. All had high praise for the food and the service. If we ever make it back to Cabo San Lucas, this will definitely be on the top of the list to return. read more

Terrible food, I think most people probably are just happy to order stuff like they would at home or are brainwashed by cruise ship food. The vegetables were all frozen from a bag and we saw them use a microwave. We ordered a seafood platter and nothing was fresh. The white fish was overcooked and chewy, there were no visible portions of octopus, the scallops were small and tasteless, the shrimp was the only thing identifiable and it was also likely frozen and flavorless. It was cooked in the prep style recommended by the waiter which was a flavorless under salted and no defining texture slop of fajita style vegetables covering the lack of seafood. To add insult to injury, it was also by far the most expensive food we got on our vacation. Just go to Tacos Gardenias if you want real food. This is just more overpriced fake tourist trap food. You can get better food in any random corner store for a tenth the price. It was legitimately comically bad. 4 tacos at a random taco place will have more fresh seafood than this place's 1800 peso dish. read more

Ok, I feel bad giving this place 3 stars because the service was SO good, and I want to support small local businesses, but I have to leave an honest review. This place was 5 stars on Yelp, and after reading the reviews, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, other than their reviews exceptional customer service, the food fell a little flat, due to lack of flavor, and mainly because for that you get, I felt like the food was way overpriced. For context, I had just stayed, and dined at, the restaurants at a luxury resort (Garza Blanca), for 4 days, before I came here, and I thought because this place was away from the marina (therefore, less touristy), the prices would be lower and the food would be more authentic. I ordered a crab soup that was on the menu (and it's my fault for not looking at prices when I ordered everything), and for $14, which is crazy for a small bowl of soup, with hardly any crab in it, and just heavy on the cream, it's way too much. I ordered a chicken and vegetable, clear broth soup, for my son, that was recommended and off the menu (so I didn't know how much it was), and that also was $14! Luckily, my son really liked the soup, but it was still overpriced. Even at the resort I stayed at, soups weren't that expensive. For my main, I ordered the shrimp scampi, and the server was nice enough to make it a half and half, so I can try the scampi version and the Mexican style, with chili and mushrooms (which I liked better, flavor wise), but for like $40 something dollars, you get only 6 pieces of shrimp, a small side of steamed veggies (like 6 pieces) and a tiny scoop of rice and like a sprinkle of fry coleslaw mix. That's outrageous. I would I've rather ordered the whole snapper for that price. Again, my fault for not checking prices, but that's ridiculous. Even in the states, they don't charge that much for 6 pieces of shrimp, slathered in a pool of butter and so bland in flavor that I needed to salt it and use hot sauce to give it some flavor. The people that left all these reviews saying that the scampi was really good must have really bland taste buds. Or, maybe the chef just under seasoned my dish that day. Either way, I was going to go back for breakfast, because I was initially so excited about this place and because the servers were so nice, but after my dinner experience, and how much my meal came out to, I didn't end up going back again. read more

Isabel is a romantic little spot steps away from Medano Beach. It was quiet, and had a piano player which was a nice touch. We were welcomed in right when we approached the doorway and we felt right at home. *Side note* food is not rushed here like we are used to in the states.The food was made in a small kitchen, when we ordered, we could literally see it happening. If you are super hungry, have a snack before you come here. You get to enjoy the live music and have a drink as you relax and anticipate your meal. The food came out hot, and was delicious. We asked for a spicy sauce and it was great! The food was tasty. They have options for all palettes. Enjoy this gem when you are in the area. If you want to support a local, family owned business that has exceptional food and service this is the place. Owned by two brothers who genuinely care about your dining experience and go out of there way to meet and greet you. We ate two dinners and one breakfast over 7 days here while staying at Corazon, which is across the street. We have never had a bad meal here, and there prices are considerably less for Steak and Lobster then surrounding restaurants. Alfonso and David do the best with what they have, it's not the most scenic or lively place, but what it is, is a place to get Great service, excellent food,a great meal from a staff that is thrilled you are there. We figured out that a reservation would be a good idea after trying a restaurant that was a 10 minute walk away first. Alfonso picked up my call and welcomed my reservation for a late lunch/early dinner. When we arrived, he was looking out for us. That was a really nice welcome! Great food! The pork alhombre (I may not have that quite right) melted in my mouth! Diners were clearly returning after previous visits and were warmly welcomed. The evening music was just starting as we finished our flan. There was a taxi stand right outside that whisked us back to our resort. Small, quaint corner restaurant where you are greeted when you enter. There was a saxophone player playing the night we went and he was incredibly talented. The server was attentive and warm. We got the chorizo cheese dip which was gooey and delicious. The chips were crispy and cooked to perfection. I got the fish filet with butter and garlic. It was sea bass and so tender. The flavor was delicious. I had a side of baked potato (which they put cheese on, so was extra tasty) and vegetables. My friend had the chicken enchiladas and said they were delicious. I have a timeshare in downtown Cabo and have been visiting as many restaurants as possible. What a gem we found. On the corner behind Cabo Villas (now Corazon) we walked by ~Isabel Restaurant-Bar~ and the smell of garlic and wonderful food stopped us in our tracks!!! Literally!!! We went into this small restaurant and spoke to the staff and told them we would be back. We went home and changed, then went back and had the most wonderful dinner, drinks, and TIME with their entire staff.....owner David, his twin brother, mixologist, chefs, and wait staff. They were ALL incredibly wonderful and fun! Gotta try their famous MARGARITA. Ok.....dinner was so great, and the atmosphere so fun, my son, my buddy, and myself (boys weekend) showed up for breakfast the next morning and ate EVERYTHING on the menu. As well, we had their famous margaritas and bloody Mary's. Now, every time we go to Cabo, without doubt we eat once or twice.....or three or four times......at Isabel. Just go!!!!!!!! read more

I love this place! What a great find in Cabo! This is a small place that was right outside our hotel. We went there at least 8 times over our weeks stay. Breakfast, lunch and dinner! The fish tacos were outstanding flavor. There were so many great items on the menu. The drinks were always delicious. And the service was 5 Star! Everyone was so nice and loved to see us each day. We're staying across the street at the Corazon and ventured in to try out. Met David the owner who was gracious enough to seat us and serve us even though he was about to close the place as there was a power cut. I'm glad we stayed the food, service and ambiance were all very commendable. Would love to revisit and check out some of the other menu items besides the fish and shrimp we tried.
