They had paddleboards available when there was a long wait at the lake to rent. Plus it was cheaper to rent from Evergreen Mountain Sports and you get the rentals for a half day! Mark gave us everything we needed, and even threw in an electric motor since one of the boards required it to inflate. He also let us use a boat pass, so we didn't need to buy one at the lake. We had a great time paddleboarding, and returning our rentals was easy. While returning, we took at look at their bicycling apparel. The prices were crazy cheap! And for nice stuff! Mark said they were last year's styles but wouldn't have noticed the difference. Walked out with a pair of riding shorts and riding jersey for a fraction of what I would have paid anywhere else.

The drive through the entrance to the parking lot was scenic and well marked. At the lake we met Grace and Wes who outfitted us with life jackets and made sure we knew where to go. We also saw a map of where not to go. They are asking for people to not go near the dam, but that wasn't an issue as there is a ton of open space to explore. The lake was quiet, scenic, and beautiful! Without jetskis, boats, etc we were able to hear birds and fish jumping in the water. The sounds of nature really made it seem like an escape that would only be experienced much further away. The two hours flew by, and we are already planning another trip back. Due to the recent heavy rainfall and snow melt the rafting seemed more intermediate than beginner but we were fine with that since we had all been rafting before. We all had a lot of fun and Adam let us know we could get a discount for going again since we live in CO- we might try the intermediate in the future Definitely recommend wearing a swimsuit underneath the wetsuit and also bringing a rain jacket - these items saved me! Also recommend bringing water shoes if you own any- (they have some for rent too) since water is very cold and your lower body will get soaked
