Terrible! We stopped in with our kids and the two women working there were just awful! My daughter was undecided and the woman hissed at her and called her an ass! She's 12 years old! My other daughter was looking at a snow globe and the other woman said "put it down", and the final straw was "make up your minds, we're closing". Just miserable! Perhaps the rudest customer service I have encountered in a long time. The two women working in the store were exceptionally rude to my friend's mother. It was almost shocking. They actually left the store because of the abuse. I did buy merchandise from the store because it was an item I very much wanted, but I did not want to buy from them due to the ridiculous behavior. So I'm going to say, if you are a Georgetown University fanatic (mostly just out-of-town guests) and you happen to go when the University is closed and/or you don't have a friend, this is about the closest place you can go to, but that's about it. The prices aren't much cheaper than buying it from the school or online (in fact, for the price she pays, its about highway robbery). The lady here is super anal, complete with the "no touching merchandise" sign & constant reorganizing as soon as a customer picks up a shirt. So really, how do you expect shoppers to shop? read more

Good place to get some Georgetown stuff . Lots of t-shirts here, and I mean T-shirts galore, as well as an array of souvenir items. If your around the area in need to buy some gifts this shop is it. This place is one of those cheap tourist shops, you will find stuff at regular price and some at discounted prices. I was looking for a cool Hoya T-shirt but it was a little bit pricey too me, so pretty much premium shirts here cost more but some of the non-cool shirts were the only bargain deals, so therefore I had a hard time looking what to buy at a good price. Georgetown Tee's is Georgetown's oldest and one of the very few souvenir shops in the area. For such a small store that is located directly in the heart of the busiest part of DC, it is able to offer SO much for everyone under one roof. So many different funny T-shirts, gadgets, DC memorabilia and so on, allows for tourists and locals alike to find their perfect souvenir. Since this tiny store gets so much traffic, it is understandable that the ladies running this place are protective of their merchandise and politely ask you to be respectful. To some extent, the collection of their souvenirs reminds me of a US history museum that is 100% worth the trip. Overall, going on a weekday would allow for more time for browsing their cool selection and even get to request a custom order t-shirts, which I hear are amazing and have some of the highest material quality in the area....for a very reasonable price. So, don't let the crowds or the cautious long-time owners' fears of things getting broken keep you from visiting one of DC's coolest historical landmarks and picking up a souvenir or a T-shirt that you'll be in love with for years to come. The worst customer service ever! The second I stepped foot in the store with my friend, we felt unwelcome. The front counter lady rushed us and pressured us into picking items to purchase. When I requested a size, she looked me up and down (an average teenage girl) and said rudely "is that for you??" I said yes and she stared me down again and shook her head. My friend gasped from this apparent rudeness and we left the store. Do not patronize this cruel woman. Spend your money on higher quality merch at the actual University. read more

Same issue with the TERRIBLE front counter woman. My office is close and I went in to buy family members some Georgetown and DC memorabilia. With a scowl on her face she asked "can I help you, are you lost?". As an African American male, it had THAT undertone to it, as though I had wandered into the wrong southern town in the 60's. I assured her that I was not lost, and walked out, and so did the 1000.00 buy I made at a shop down the street. If management ever reads this I hope one of the following is true: She is the owner and this business is a front for something else. She is your mother and you can't fire her. She is paying you an exorbitant amount of money for every customer she runs off. Someone with this attitude and demeanor should NEVER be around customers. read more

I literally thought I was in "WWYD?". The woman who has been working there for years is so off the charts rude. Ive never seen anything like it. I'm amazed that they still have a business as she doesn't let you touch anything in the store. There was a shirt that was in the window that initially drew my attention and when I asked her where they were she told me they didn't have them. I was wondering if I could have the last one in the window and she completely flipped out. She was very unhappy with the fact that I wanted to purchase merchandise from her store and was telling me it's my fault (for trying to buy their products). It's one thing to have trouble running a business but even if you struggle at the very least you can be welcoming to your costumers. And she was not only incredibly rude but was aggressively yelling at me for asking for help. The most uncomfortable experience and I normally give people the benefit of the doubt but this was off the charts insane. This shop sold me two defective snow globes that leaked all over my purse and all over the bag within an hour after I bought them. My friend and I happened to be at the restaurant next door when we noticed the leak and so I went to exchange the snow globes. The lady yelled at me in the store and told me to admit that I dropped them and she would exchange it. I repeatedly told her that I did not drop them and they just leaked. Then she took the bag of snow globes from my hand and told me she would not exchange them unless I admitted I dropped them. It was insane! Several customers walked out during the exchange because of how insane the lady was acting. I ended up walking out without my bag just to avoid her. Additionally it has Washington DC sweatshirts that are very nice looking as well. They also carry magnets, key chains, etc. It is a little store so it can seem cramped. After reading some of the reviews, I realized that I am no where near the only person who had a bad experience with the worker there. The lady working at the store was incredibly disrespectful and rude; I picked up a crew neck and put it against me to see how it would fit, folded it back up and put it back. I took another one in a different size, did the same thing, folded it and put it back. The lady angrily came up to me saying that I was "ruining her store" by unfolding "all of the sweatshirts" (even though I unfolded 2, refolded them, AND put them back in their original spot). She then proceeded to say that I was trying to do it on purpose... before she could even continue, I told her to have a nice day and left the store. She didn't deserve my money, and she needs a reality check on how to treat people with basic manners and respect. If you see an old lady there, don't even waste your time looking around. Went to Georgetown Tees to look for a souvenir while visting from Wisconsin. The lady at the cash register was not nice at all. I looked at a Georgetown sweatshirt and sat my shopping bag down to fold the sweatshirt and place it back. The unfriendly lady at the register yelled at me to put my shopping bag on the floor so I would not mess up her white tee shirts. The shirts were the ones you could probably get for two dollars elsewhere with a screen print on it. I told her that I don't put packages with food on the floor and left with my family. Don't go there unless you want to be treated rudely with no respect. read more

Specifically went to this shop to buy souvenirs. According to the web and sign on the door they should have been open until 9 PM. They were closed when I arrived at 7. Traveled from across the Country and really wanted Georgetown gear. Very disappointed when I arrived to see they were closed 'early' for unknown reason on a busy Saturday evening.
