Ive been seeing Rosie at Georgettes Beauty Salon exclusively for about the past 5 years and am very thankful to have found her and had the privilege of having her guide me in my healthy hair journey. Her kind, sweet spirit doesn't dampen her pride in her work and her knowledge of the chemistry behind it was apparent right from the start. She will care for your hair like it is her own and that means that she will be honest and won't always agree to some processes that she deems too harsh or too rushed to make sure your hair isn't damaged. Rosie took my naturally fine, thin hair that was so damaged I had bald spots when we first met and helped it grow out stronger than before ALL while taking me through a rainbow of colors and safely bringing my hair back to blonde balayage when I needed. Rosie is the best! I called ahead of time and she was able to accommodate my schedule. When we met she asked many questions about my hair and previous color. Rosie wanted to understand my hair history before adding any additional color to my hair. My hair was long, had previous color/ balayage and many split ends. She's thorough, honest and listens to exactly what you want. I showed her a picture on Pinterest and sure enough by the end of the appointment she created the same color and cut. First off, Rosie is amazing. I personally didn't have anything done; I took my mother here who has really thick, curly, coarse, spongy hair. Not only is this her hair type, but she also doesn't remember the last time she went to a salon for a haircut. She isn't the most diligent when it comes to her own hair. She wanted to have a Brazilian blowout done, and Rosie did an amazing job. I was a little nervous to even come here because of the location of the salon. We drove from the Humble area and saw a few salons up here that had good reviews also, but Rosie gave my mom a better price, so essentially we went to Georgette's. Rosie was so sweet and explained everything thoroughly, she showed my mom what shampoos, conditioners, and leave in conditioners would be best for her hair. The result was amazing! I think I was more shocked than my mom was. I couldn't believe how straight and soft her hair was capable of being. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Out of all the other hair stylists in the Houston area, I chose Rosie. I am a platinum blonde client and upon texting back and forth, including me sending photos of my hairs current state/ what I wanted, she agreed to take me on as a client. I asked her to give me a purple shadow root, so long as she'd be able to successfully remove the color when the time came. She told me that wasn't a problem. After doing my hair, it came out to be something completely different than the photos I showed but she told me the way she was doing it/ the colors she was using would be the best option so that when I did want to resume my 100% platinum color, she'd be able to successfully remove the color, etc. I am not one to complain, not to mention I trusted her, my mistake. When it came time for me to schedule my next appointment to have the color removed, etc. she completely ghosted me. I emailed her and also messaged her on Instagram, twice which she read but chose to ignore. I began wondering if I did something wrong but no. We had perfectly casual/respectful conversation the whole time I sat in her chair, I paid the well over priced price tag for something I didn't even want and left with a smile on my face. My conclusion is that she did something to my hair that she knew she couldn't undo and let me pay $300 for it, knowing she would ignore me when the time came to correct it. Thankfully I have found an amazing stylist since who actually knows how to treat clients as well as do what I ask her to do and charge accordingly. When I entered her salon and showed her what Rosie had done to my hair, she was mortified but more than happy to help. So grateful there are still stylists out there that appreciate their clients and treat them with respect, because Rosie is not one of those people. She will do you hair, use you as a prop for her Instagram page, take your money, then ignore you when it's time to reschedule/ fix what SHE did to your hair in the first place. Let it be noted that in my emails and Instagram messages I was very kind and even ask if she no longer wanted to take me on as a client for whatever reason or was overly busy, that I understood completely and would like for her to just inform me so I could find someone else soon. Not to mention her salon is run down and filthy. Tried my best to give her the benefit of the doubt because it is exhausting looking for new stylist and putting your trust in someone else again but it is not okay to treat people this way and I feel everyone should be aware of this so that it does not happen to them as well. I chose this salon after reading the Yelp reviews. I had an event and made an appointment for hair and makeup with Rosie. She's a nice and warm person. I'm glad other yelpers mentioned it didn't look fancy. It doesn't, and if I hadn't known beforehand I wouldn't have been confident about going in. I was the first client of the day. I asked for volume in my hair, and makeup. I got the best hairstyle ever. My hair usually doesn't hold volume, but this time it lasted all day. The makeup was simple, yet elegant. I went in for a trim because I was so sick and tired of my heavy, thick, and majorly long hair( not to mention boring hair)! Rosie not only trimmed my hair but also layered it and gave me gorgeous side bangs! I can never find anyone cut bangs the way I want them to be and she nailed it. She cut about 4 or 5 inches off (but my hair was so long, I was still able to keep my length) My hair feels fuller without being heavy and way more gorgeous! I came here with a Groupon for a Keratin treatment. I was so pleased with the service I received from Rosie. She's got a humble little studio but clearly so much experience, knowledge, and passion for hair. I've had Keratin done 3x previously and her Keratin (was a brand I had never used) has showed the BEST results to date. I also loved that she put some volume in my hair during the Keratin treatment so that my hair wasn't stuck to my head for 3 days until I could rinse the Keratin out. So I went from naturally curly hair to straight and cut it short. I was very scared to see how it was going to come out but I was ready. A friend highly recommended this salon to me so I decided to try it out. She warned me that it was a "dive," and she was right...but don't judge a book by its cover! There's a real gem here, and her name is Rosie. She is the salon owner and w 20+yrs of experience (including fashion weeks in Paris and New York!), she knows what she's doing! I am a SAHM and total neglect my super fine, unruly curly hair. I get it cut maybe every 1.5 yrs (when I remember!). Most stylists are unfamiliar w curly hair, but not Rosie. I had a great consultation w her, showed her my Pinterest pic finds and she knew exactly what I wanted: a low maintenance (no blow dryer, no flat or curling iron), chic hair cut ideal for a young mom on the go. She hit the nail on the head and replicated the look I found online. I'm still trying to get used to it, but she did her job well. I had a great experience at this salon and felt extremely welcome as soon as I walked in. I went in b/c I had long dry and damaged hair .I wanted something not too short and something that would make my hair look more lively. I showed Rosie what I wanted and my hair turned out perfect! I got some side swept bangs and some layers while still keeping my hair at a good length. She also recommended some products for my hair to help keep it moisturized and shiny. Don't go to this place! I purchased a Living Social deal for a Brazilian Blowout. I paid $125 for a service that is normally $250. THE OWNER SCAMMED ME!! Instead of receiving a Brazilian Blowout, I received a CHEAP relaxer. A relaxer is something you can purchase at the drug store for $12, but I paid $125 thinking that I was getting a Brazilian Blowout. The ad clearly said Brazilian Blowout. Besides losing $125, my hair also became very dry and brittle as a result of the relaxer. I would not recommend going to this place. The owner uses false advertising. read more

the salon itself is located in industrial area but if one does not mind, this is a great place to get hair services. Rosie is an awesome hair designer and has a great test. I do not have to worry about anything or come up with ideal I just need to tell her that I want to change my look and magic happens. This salon isn't the most modern in your face salon you have ever been, but that's not what this salon is about...... The salon is in a quiet neighborhood, might have not much to look at but the magic that Rosie does for her customers will make you forget that. At first it takes a minute to trust her views but once you take her advice you will be so happy you did. She is truly the best at what she does best, she's the best colorist I've ever been too. Her haircuts are beautifully done as well. You will not regret going to this salon. I also had a cut and blow dry to make my do complete, and I have to say, I'm sacking my old hairdresser... I went there upon a recommendation from my mother. I had just cut my hair off myself and it was about 4 inches long, and needed a little touch up, so I was there for a trim and to get the brazillian blowout from Rosy. I was there for 3 hours, more than long enough to notice the empty candy wrappers cluttering up her work station where she was putting the supplies to work on my hair. very unprofessional. halfway through, she starts to cut. This is when she turns me around in the chair and says "You can't see it until i'm done." This should have been my clue that she was about to completely go in a different direction than we had discussed, but, unfortunately for me, I trusted her. I told her i didn't want it that short, and what does she do? She cuts it so short in the back that you can't even run your fingers through it. This makes no sense on so many levels; for one thing, she cut off all the hair that had received the brazilian blowout treatment so I had sat around for 3 hours for nothing. For another, we had NEVER discussed such a drastic change from how i had come in. When she turned me around, I had to do everything in my power not to completely break down; I would NEVER pick out this hair style for myself. It's an extremely short boy-cut/pixie cut and I absolutely hate it because it is not what I wanted and it doesn't compliment my style or look. What's worse is that she had styled me to look like a 1920s flapper-girl, with side part and side wave (completely not my style, im a 20 year old girl, bit of a bohemian type). I can't believe how naïve I was to think that I could trust her with my hair. Just goes to show, hair stylists all just think they know their client/their client's style better than their client. I had to share because I have never had such a bad hair experience and want to prevent anyone from going through what I went through. The whole thing ended up costing $160 (not including tip) and I wish I had told her how I felt rather than pay for it. It's really devastating to my self-esteem and I'm going to be wearing head scarves for about a month before I'm comfortable with wearing this style out in public (but at least I gained a hell of a learning experience!). There's plenty of other places to get your hair done, people! Plenty that have clean work stations, nice smelling bathrooms, and stylists who actually care about their clients. read more
