Charles, our technician, was great! Super personable and super professional and efficient. Wanted to have him come back and install the replacement part that he recommended from back in April of 2022. Called a month prior to this date and it took a while for them to return my call. Finally called again and donald scheduled us for today only to have the day already gone by and no technician showed up. Called in asking if there was still someone showing up and they said it's been scheduled for the 3rd. Unless first and third sound and look familiar, I'm starting to get the feel of how things are run in Georgia compared to other states. Company seems like a great and cost effective company but donald needs to really up his game. read more

The technician (John) came out and checked out our AC unit that wasn't functioning properly (an issue with the heat after installing a Nest thermostat). Not only did he solve them problem, he gave us some very useful information about our system that we were not previously privy to. He was very friendly and messed around with the thing for quite some time until he was able to assure it was functioning properly. He appeared to be quite thorough. Only critique: We weren't given any advance notice about the additional costs (beyond the quoted cost of the inspection). It would've been nice to have been told up front that we were going to be paying over double what we had been prepared to pay for the inspection, but, as we aren't currently free our sexy butts off and paying anymore outrageous power bills, I'd have to say it was worth it. read more

These people are not worth your time or money. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. After having them out to get an estimate. I had to write a review on YELP to get the estimate. The owner replied. I thought everything was straight. I called Friday March 15, 2019 to schedule the work to be done.Donald scheduled me for Monday March 18. Monday at 2:40pm I received a call from Jonathan Thomas (same guy who gave me the estimate) and he says I'm 5 minutes away. I met him at the house. This guy showed up knowing exactly what he was coming to do and came to my home without any of the supplies to the job. He walked around the house looking lost and at about 4:20pm he says "I need to go and get supplies" I said how far do you have to go? He replied I-285 & Church. My air conditioner went out yesterday and I called the large service company I have used in the past. They were unable to get out for three days. After checking with neighbors and online I called Georgia Air Contractors. They sent their technician Jonathan Thomas out within a few hours. He was fantastic. Diagnosed the problem and worked hard to fix it. It is an older unit and got good advice about what to do to keep us going til we replace it. I found GA Air Contractors on Yelp. We recently moved into our new home that has 2 Separate air zoning systems. The one downstairs had been working fine; however, the one upstairs made loud noise everyone the air started. It was loud enough to wake me up in the middle of the night. I then called GA AC, they were able to send a Tech the next morning. Charles showed up on time, in fact earlier than expected. He fixed the problem right away. He was very professional. Please take your business elsewhere. Customer service is non existent and technicians are not knowledgeable. The worst part is there is no resolve for the issues. I had a brand new unit installed 2 years ago and continuous issues thereafter. There is no accountability for inept technicians. I thought I would give them a chance to redeem themselves with me. They sent out another novice technician who didn't want to be challenged about the problem. He refused to check into the component in question. Worst of all he left in the middle of a job because Georgia Air Contractors does not want to be accountable!!! Please ... as a dear neighbor and professional do not utilize them for your service needs. I rarely write reviews, but this needs to be available for anyone considering using their services. With the exception of the very first appointment, this company has been a disappointment at almost every level. They are very eager to sell you a (auto renewal) service contract, but aren't so eager to provide properly sized filters, service paperwork or even explain verbally when or how work has been performed. The technician we got on the last service appointment Monday was completely non communicative--he just blew in-and-out (no pun intended) with little explanation of what he actually did. The following Saturday our ac unit stopped blowing cold air. This is a big problem as we have big dogs and we need the house to stay cool at all times. I called the emergency number and got the same tech, who on top of being flippant and argumentative, was utterly indifferent to our situation. I will be calling to cancel the $$$ yearly service contract and now have to spend god knows what with a new ac contractor correcting whatever the last tech did. Maybe at one time GAC was professional, but that no longer appears to be the case. read more

This was the first time we used this company. Response time was excellent. AC unit was not able to be fully repaired on the same day but repaired enough to get us to the next day. Appointment was at 10am but they showed up at 8:30 and were finished within an hour. Very reasonable cost to repair. I would definitely recommend them. read more

I called middle of the week and was able to get an appointment by the end of the week. A tech was dispatched and arrived within a the appointment time frame so no complaints there. I knew I had a leak in my system as the previous year I had to get it topped off with freon and the tech then told me there was a leak. I had GAC do a leak-detection on my system so I could attempt to isolate the issue. The tech was professional and friendly, and relegated the leak to the evaporator coil for my unit. I specifically asked if the coil could be repaired, to which he replied, "It'll probably cost you more to repair the coil than to replace it." Satisfied with that answer, I had him obtain a quote for replacing the coil (had to call it in; I received a call a few hours later about it) and he went on his way. I researched my air handler and found that there was exactly one evaporator coil that would work (dual heat pump/AC unit, go figure) and proceeded to order it online from another vendor via the Amazon marketplace. Once I received a call back with the quote, I asked what the breakdown of materials and labor would be, which they could not provide. I also requested a quote for them to install a part that I would provide, which they said they were not prepared to do (note: having someone else install your part is pretty rare in the industry, so can't complain too much, but it really just supports the argument that they are like all the others). After remembering a family friend that does HVAC repair, I contacted him and he came out on a holiday and was able to find the source of the leak (right on the front of the unit!) and repair it, top it off with freon, and was out of there in 1.5 hours. I won't comment on the pricing since that's not fair, but I was really bummed that GAC didn't even attempt to further isolate the leak and offer to fix it despite my request to do so. It was clearly right in front of them. The tech was friendly and the service was okay, but the thoroughness of the work leaves something to be desired. Consider these guys if you need work done and they are the only ones able to get to you in short order, but definitely don't expect much beyond the packaged services and replacement of existing parts as opposed to repairing those parts. read more

They even made a temporary fix to my A/C unit that allowed it to work until a part came in, and didn't charge me for the fix!
