I normally love Georgia Blue! I decided to order takeout on Friday and order the dynamite shrimp bowl. I was underwhelmed with the portion size. It was tiny! Normally Georgia Blue provides nice portions. It was a healthy dish. I also ordered the spinach dip on the side with a Kristine bread and it was tasty per usual. Sorry, but this is a bad one. Maybe we caught them on a bad night, but we still will not be coming back. A small group of us went to Georgia Blue for dinner. Myself & one other person had never been. To start, we ordered the Creole Spinach Dip. You would think with the name there would be some kind of flavor. It was lacking. Had to put hot sauce on it to make it taste like something. Next, I ordered the Jenn's Fried Green Tomatoes & a side of "homemade potato chips." Their menu states the fried green tomatoes are "fresh hand-battered." No, these are frozen. Something about them just didn't set right with me. Oh!! The "homemade potato chips" are Wavy Lays. Yes, they were without a doubt the Wavy Lays. One friend ordered the BBQ Nachos. We were immediately told they were out of BBQ but could substitute for chicken. This again, was less than lacking. The other friend ordered the Duck Wontons & Turnip Green Bites. I tried half of the Turnip Green Bites. You couldn't taste the greens at all. You see it, but the cheese & bacon over-powered the item. The service was not great. We were upstairs &, at this time, there weren't many people. Drinks were completely empty before we could get the attention of our server to get another. With this service & food, now I understand why there is a sign in the elevator stating all checks will have 18% automatic gratuity. Give it, the website only states this for parties of 6 or more. Stopped by for a bite... was seated in the bar area downstairs which is a bit tucked away. It was sooo cold inside that it was a bit uncomfortable. The upstairs is really cute! The music was not a vibe in my opinion. I would have enjoyed a mix of music. Our waitress was nice though it felt like it took forever to get our meal! The food was pretty good. I had the seafood linguine-- minus 1 star for how soupy it was. The spicy chicken sandwich and fries (not pictured) were quite tasty. I wouldn't mind trying the seasoned fries again and I would be interested in the dynamite shrimp appetizer. Visited this place on a Saturday afternoon. We chose to sit in the bar area to skip the wait. I liked that it was a separated and calm atmosphere. Our bartender/waitress was very nice and pleasant. When we arrived, the parking lot was completely full - however, they have a separate takeout entrance with its own kitchen, so we were able to get our food quickly. The server was very friendly, our order was correct. Spouse had a burger and onion straws. I had the special fried chicken, rice, nacho, queso dish. A bit of an odd combo, but it was fun to try. We also had the bread pudding, which was yummy! Our food was good! I wouldn't call it the best, most flavorful food I've ever eaten, but it was solid and we enjoyed it! Decided to travel to Southaven for lunch and chose Georgia Blues. I've been here several times before and love it. The service is always top notch, the servers are dressed professionally and act the part and the atmosphere is great. Thanks to my server Damani. I knew I wanted their lunch special of the day which is from 11-4 and includes a drink for $13. Dessert can be added for an extra $2 and extra sides are available for a price. The meat option today was fried chicken, Pot roast or Duck Gumbo. I ordered the Pot Roast with mac & cheese and broccoli with a roll and sweet tea to drink. The Pot roast was cooked to perfection. Nice cuts of meat hot, tender and flavorful with the right amount of seasoning and sauce. Broccoli was steamed with the right balance of crunchiness and a hint of butter flavor without all the added saltiness or over seasoning that other restaurants use. The Mac & cheese had the right blend of noodles to cheese ratio- yes this is important which provided a creamy cheesy butter flavor without the sticky or stiffness or bland cheese taste. It was more of a smooth creamy taste of several blended cheeses. I loved this meal. It was the perfect meal I needed. Comfort food but not too heavy. I love food that I can taste the flavors of the food and season that enhances or blends the flavors and not cover them up. Food that is cooked as it should be keeping as much of the nutrients and the texture as possible yet making it so darn good...... To top it off I got the peach cobbler for dessert but -to take home and have with a nice hot cup of coffee -after my nap of course. Oh and military discount with ID. read more

My first visit at GB with my aunt, although I've heard of this place! She visits often and recommended that we come here! No reservations needed... Upon entering we were greeted and walked to our table. For me this kind of sets the tone for the remainder of your experience at ANY ESTABLISHMENT! Our waitress was very attentive! Service was great. This location is in the Snowden District surrounded by other nice establishments. The food on the website looked amazing so we decided to give it a try. Space looks like an old warehouse but nice and plenty of space. The hostesses were super friendly and got us sat rather quickly. Breanna was our server. I gave 4 stars as the food is really good. The runners get it out pretty quickly and everything on the menu looks amazing, including the drinks. I took away a star as the service left a LOT to be desired. We saw Breanna when we ordered, as the runner put down our meal-she asked if it looked okay. We never saw her again until we were done with our meal. Not checking on us after we've taken a bite, asked for refills, tried to offer desserts-nothing. It wasn't that busy so very discouraging that you couldn't check on us, remove a plate, grab a drink... nothing. We would probably come back because of the menu but customer service is everything. The staff and crew are very friendly as soon as you walk in. The servers are very friendly and accommodating. They make sure you are seated quickly.The atmosphere is that of a sports bar. No carpet or comfortable chairs at all. If you drink, the bar tender mixes great drinks. I always get Bloody Marys (Great Flavor). The menu has a variety of choices. I try something different every trip. This time I had the sausage and chicken gumbo over potato salad. The rue was runny and the gumbo lacked meat. It was a little strips of shreaded chicken and chopped up chicken sausage. (Would not recommend this at all) Downstairs is more family oriented sports scenes with TV's all over. Upstairs is more adult oriented with a DJ in the evening. They do add a 3 percent top to your tab or 18 percent for a group but they do let you know when you walk in. read more

We order the dynamite shrimp appetizer the shrimp and chicken ziti w/ ceasar side salad, and a blue burger. Salad arrives and we are still without silverware. We ask a random waitress for some and she promptly brought us some. Food tasted good. Dynamite shrimp was large shrimp perfectly fried and good flavor. Ziti pasta was flavorful and large portion. Biggest issue was the sauce was real watery. Blue burger was a chunk of meat! Bun had a great flavor and softness to it. Biggest hit was the dang fries! They were a unique size and were so good! After taking family pictures they wanted to go here. We had a large group but they made the accommodations. I didn't like the fact that they sat us in a room but then separated us into 3 different tables. They may have did it for the servers but as a family we would've like to all dine together and that didn't happen. The appetizers were pretty good. I started off with the fried pickles with were okay. I prefer the pickle spears. You couldn't taste much of the pickles and they were pretty salty. The ranch was also really runny. The dynamite shrimp were great. We paired it with the ranch from the pickles and my son was able to eat it. It tamed down the kick for him. The GB smothered chicken I ended it sending it back. While it looked great it lack in flavor. The chicken tasted like nothing in addition to the gravy and queso poured over the top. I attempted to had salt n pepper but that didn't help. My sister had ordered the blackened chicken Alfredo which I didn't get a picture of but she stated the same thing that the dish lack in flavor. Even with the chicken being blacked it didn't look as such. One of the kids ordered the kids fingers which were just basic but the other had Mac n cheese. Even though the parking lot was full and there were groups waiting to be seated, our party of two was seated almost immediately. We had the GB Margarita and the Hawaii Kick. But our server Amelia was great too. She made some great recommendations during our short time there. Our server Christa was the best, she gave menu recommendations and she was spot on and she made us feel at home, kept checking on us to make sure we were good. The turnip green bites for an appetizer and they were really good and the batter was seasoned, the sauce they serve them with is also sweet with a Cajun flair. I had the blue plate special with catfish, turnip greens, mashed sweet potatoes and hush puppies. The fish was awesome and hot and it was fried perfectly, hard, but tender inside and seasoned well! The mashed sweet potatoes were good, the greens were ok, tasted canned or frozen with onions, hush puppies were good, next time I would try something else for sides. My friend had the duck gumbo over rice not pictured, we both had the Hawaiian Kick cocktail, fruity, but didn't taste any vodka, the pecan cobbler was excellent, crusty and not too sweet and enough to share. For $13 the blue plate special is a great deal and you can add dessert for $2. The cocktail was $10 and needed more alcohol lol. The environment was casual and as time went on more people entered the dining room for lunch and the volume was louder. I went to Georgia Blue Saturday (5/29/26) with a friend. Walked in and there at least 7 waitresses at the hostess station, we were seated rather quickly. There was only one other table with guests in the section they sat us at. That waitress, which I thought would be ours, walked to that table asked if they were good and walked away. No one ever come to our table to take drink orders or anything. After about 10-15 minutes we left. The same 7 people were still in the front that were there when we walked in. I walked to my truck but decided to walk back in and talk to a manager and she just happened to be at the hostess station when we walked back in and told her about our experience and all she did was shake her head with a smirk on her face, you could tell she didn't care about losing business. That was my 3rd time to Georgia Blue, 1st time was good, 2nd said I wouldn't go back because of service but decided to give it another try cause it had been several months but I will NEVER step foot in that establishment again! read more

The wait time was ridiculous even with reservation but I understand you can plan but previous groups may have other ideas. I would say 25-30 minutes after reservation time. We were seated and the waitress was great giving the number in the party. Unfortunately, she doesn't give her name which I don't like because you end up saying hey, excuse me. I ordered a burger and house-made chips with a side of fried green tomatoes. The burger was cold and it comes with everything however my burger was missing most of the items but I digress. I asked for the items but they never arrived. My chips just folded the were so stale. I asked for another fresh order and was told it comes out of the same bag so I would assume someone left the bag open. A side of fried green tomatoes were two, small, greasy and cold tomatoes for $6! The coating did not adhere well but again, I digress. I ordered a Blue Hawaiian Kick drink and it was a beautiful sunset orange which matched my dress so I took that as a sign and it was good. Because my chips were stale I asked for another drink especially since it was happy hour so that was granted. However, it was added to the bill but was removed when I brought it to her attention. Another guest had chicken, shrimp with mushroom zita which was very good! The ambiance was nice, restaurant was clean and service was timely considering the group size and time which was almost 3p on a Sunday. Horrible service. My mother and I were one of two tables in the entire bar area room. The other table of two customers received two drinks prior to us even being greeted (about 10 minutes). The server knew nothing of the menu and went behind the bar and asked questions to us across the bar as he typed in our order that he had just written down. About 30 minutes passed and another server came to check in (he thought we had finished our meal and were just hanging out). Was in town from out of state for a concert and decided on Georgia Blue for supper. Nice looking place and was very crowded but we were seated rather quickly. Both the wife and I decided to get the steak after hearing that the "market price" was not truly outrageous. Hate to say it but it was one of the worst cuts of ribeye we've ever had. The sides weren't much better. The wife had the Sauteed Squash and Zucchini & Mashed Sweet Potatoes. The Squash and Zucchini just wasn't good and she was served Mashed Potatoes instead of Sweet Potatoes. Waitress fixed the potato issue quickly but the sweet potatoes were not very hot, just warm. I had the Mac & Cheese and Southern Grits. The mac & cheese wasn't bad but the grits were "grainy". Not the "southern" style that I'm familiar with. The steaks were cooked decently, but both steaks had a lot of fat and gristle running through it. We both had to cut judiciously to get some decent meat to eat. For one of the most expensive items on the menu, it was an $$$ disappointment. Was charged extra for a large party (18%). There were 2 of us!! Asked the waitress about the extra charge and said it was "normal" for after 4:00 pm. She explained how all the service staff got a piece of it in their paycheck. Didn't set well with us but I accepted it. I did leave a tip for the waitress (cash) and I emphasized on the way out when I ran into her that it was for her and no one else. Today is Valentine's Day february 14th i took my lady here today and the food was horrible and the service was worst. When we walked in we knew this experience was going to be bad we walked in and the host dam near ran to our table to placed our menus on our table and left without a word spoken to us she never came back and asked if we needed anything she didn't even show us where our table was we literally had to look at the table and determine and hope it was ours. Once we sat down and looked over the menu over 15 minutes had went by and you would think because tonight is a special evening then they would be busy but they weren't it. 15 minutes go by and nobody has came and served us nobody has asked do we need anything we don't even have drinks so by now not only was the girl rude who was seating us we couldn't even get serviced and the couple behind us came in after us and they still got their needs met before us. Finally a server comes and asks us have we been helped and we then replied with no. She took our orders and got us drinks another 20 minutes has passed we are waiting on the food the food comes out everything is wrong except the fries. My lady's wings were incorrect and they were bone in when they were supposed to be boneless my burger was wrong and i'm not usually picky or quick to judge but i informed the server i was allergic to cheese and some how cheese still managed to make its way to my burger. The server acknowledged the food was wrong and it got sent back another 15 minutes has went by and at this point i'm irritated the service was horrible the food matched and was wrong and incorrect and its like there were plenty of staff but nobody wanted to serve but they were defiantly playing around.My burger then came back out but to my surprise the burger was burnt!!! You can literally tell biting into it that the burger is quite literally burnt and rushed. And the wings still haven't came out by this time. Another 15 minutes had passed before the server brought the wings but at this point I'm upset and ready to go looking for the waiter to and I'm ready to receive my check so i can leave she came out apologized but we were already past apologies and forgiveness. The manager then came out apologized and took the wings off that we did not eat and took a percentage off of the check. I've never been here and had such horrible service. I have been here twice. My first experience was awesome. The food was amazingly fresh and delicious. My second visit was Mothers Day weekend and it was quite busy. Our party ordered a variety of items and our favorites were the fried crawfish tails and the catfish. There were three us who ordered the seafood linguine and they all were extremely soupy/saucy and did not come with the bread to complement it. I had the Mardi gras, which was a mahi mahi fish with some type of sauce on top with crawfish in it. It was very good. The sweet tea was on point . The shrimp and fried chicken zeta with lobster sauce was good but not great. The 2 drinks my wife got were strong ,the gallows old fashioned was only 1\2 a glass for a reason,the Hawaiian Kick . It was good to try it out but I'm thinking it's not a place I would visit regularly. The food look like it was gourmet or high class restaurant food but it did not quite meet the standards you know what I mean. The automatically take 18% and add it on to the bill for the tip for the server which I didn't like so I had to add more to it to make it a full 20%. We got right in to be seated at Georgia Blue. They have TVs in the restaurant and not just the bar so watching the game there was good. We had a few appetizers. The fried green tomatoes had a crunch batter and remoulade sauce. They were good. The Dynamite shrimp were large and had a great flavor. The creole shrimp dip was bland. It needed a little kick to it. The catfish and grits dinner was excellent. The rodeo burger was a large portion. Get it on the Hawaiian bun. I couldn't even finish it all. The French fires ha seasoned and crunchy. They are very good. The Mahi Mahi was a large portion. It was ok. I would go back again. The children's menu portions are very small. The only reason for the -1 star is price/value for what we get vs what we pay. Family of 4: mom dad 2 teenage boys. 1 kid had the Blues Burger, 1 kid had crispy Buffalo chicken, mom had a gyro and dad had fried green tomato BLT. Mom and dad had 1 beer each. Just shy of $110. That's nuts!!! It isn't unique to Georgia Blue to be fair but it's definitely causing us to revisit our eating out frequency and choices. We got right in, no waiting. Upon unwrapping the silverware from our napkins mom's fork had some shmutz on it so she asked for a new fork and was brought a whole new set of silverware and another napkin. Everyone's food was very good. Greek fries with the gyro were "Greek" in that they had some Greek seasoning sprinkled on them. I'd have liked to see some feta and diced tomatoes, maybe a little tzatziki but it wasn't an up charge for the Greek fries so I guess I'll allow it . The Ace Pineapple beers were very very good!!!! Do recommend. I got a house salad which was very good as a side with my BLT. Will most likely come back, just probably be a longer time between restaurant visits due to the insanity of prices on things these days. read more

Service is so slow. Took 20 minutes for a very hard burger. Now it did have good flavor. But over all not very good.

Georgia Blue is the New Hot spot I will be coming back to do another review the food was good the drinks were good the staff was wonderful and accommodating but they still need to work the kinks out on the large parties we were a party of 15 tables 1 2 3 water comes out on time appertirizers come out for tables 2 and 3 next main courses come out for tables 2 and 3 table 1 we still waiting on the appertirizers so we tell them we were still waiting they get everything going the managers come over and talk to us so finally 1st course came but no 2nd coarse and 815 I suggested to the ladies to get the items to go read more
