Buffalo wings, loaded fries and turnip green bites

Visited this place on a Saturday afternoon. We chose to sit in the bar area to skip the wait. I liked that it was a separated and calm atmosphere. Our bartender/waitress was very nice and pleasant. Sorry, I didn't get her name. I ordered a peach lemon drop and she did not disappoint. It was delicious! We had appetizers only. The buffalo wings, turnip green bites and loaded fries were very good and came out hot! Definitely would visit again.

We ordered takeout and everything was great! When we arrived, the parking lot was completely full - however, they have a separate takeout entrance with its own kitchen, so we were able to get our food quickly. The server was very friendly, our order was correct. Spouse had a burger and onion straws. I had the special fried chicken, rice, nacho, queso dish. A bit of an odd combo, but it was fun to try. We also had the bread pudding, which was yummy! Our food was good! I wouldn't call it the best, most flavorful food I've ever eaten, but it was solid and we enjoyed it! I feel like it is exactly what one should expect from a typical casual chain restaurant (it's a small chain, but it has that vibe).

Great food. I'm not a grits fan but these grits with the sauce on top was fantastic. I'll be back to try other foods.

Decided to travel to Southaven for lunch and chose Georgia Blues. I've been here several times before and love it. The service is always top notch, the servers are dressed professionally and act the part and the atmosphere is great. Thanks to my server Damani. I knew I wanted their lunch special of the day which is from 11-4 and includes a drink for $13. Dessert can be added for an extra $2 and extra sides are available for a price. The meat option today was fried chicken, Pot roast or Duck Gumbo. I ordered the Pot Roast with mac & cheese and broccoli with a roll and sweet tea to drink. The Pot roast was cooked to perfection. Nice cuts of meat hot, tender and flavorful with the right amount of seasoning and sauce. Broccoli was steamed with the right balance of crunchiness and a hint of butter flavor without all the added saltiness or over seasoning that other restaurants use. The Mac & cheese had the right blend of noodles to cheese ratio- yes this is important which provided a creamy cheesy butter flavor without the sticky or stiffness or bland cheese taste. It was more of a smooth creamy taste of several blended cheeses. I loved this meal. It was the perfect meal I needed. Comfort food but not too heavy. I love food that I can taste the flavors of the food and season that enhances or blends the flavors and not cover them up. Food that is cooked as it should be keeping as much of the nutrients and the texture as possible yet making it so darn good...... To top it off I got the peach cobbler for dessert but -to take home and have with a nice hot cup of coffee -after my nap of course. Oh and military discount with ID.

My first visit at GB with my aunt, although I've heard of this place! She visits often and recommended that we come here! No reservations needed... Upon entering we were greeted and walked to our table. For me this kind of sets the tone for the remainder of your experience at ANY ESTABLISHMENT! Our waitress was very attentive! Service was great. Fries had crunch to them even with the toppings. You get a healthy serving as well I went light bc I had a healthy breakfast lol and we just needed an outing! This is in The Silo area! Very nice area! We rode the whole area to check out the scenery.

    GB smothered chicken.

I had the fried Crawfish tails The Bayou Catfish... Everything was AMAZING. The server Tonii was GREAT. WE had a very large party and she worked the room like a pro.

The staff and crew are very friendly as soon as you walk in. The servers are very friendly and accommodating. They make sure you are seated quickly. The atmosphere is that of a sports bar. No carpet or comfortable chairs at all. If you drink, the bar tender mixes great drinks. I always get Bloody Marys (Great Flavor). The menu has a variety of choices. I try something different every trip. This time I had the sausage and chicken gumbo over potato salad. The rue was runny and the gumbo lacked meat. It was a little strips of shreaded chicken and chopped up chicken sausage. (Would not recommend this at all) Downstairs is more family oriented sports scenes with TV's all over. Upstairs is more adult oriented with a DJ in the evening. They do add a 3 percent top to your tab or 18 percent for a group but they do let you know when you walk in.

It's OK! The drinks we're really good! The food was basic. I had the dynamite shrimp & turnip greens bites. The drinks I had were the Hawaiian Kick & Strawberry Lemon Drop. I went during happy hour on a Wednesday. The crowd was very loud. Like abnormally loud. It was hard for my friend & I to hear a conversation let alone even think. Lol. Our server wasn't anything spectacular but she was nice enough. 18% gratuity was included & we were forced to start a tab for our order.

Where to begin, service was fantastic! I sat in the bar area. The turnip bites were huge and fantastic and the dipping sauce was great. The chicken gnocchi with bacon was a large serving and very flavorful. Can't say enough great things about this place!

So just finished up a sad performance at a baseball tournament and decided to pop across the street for lunch. We were seated quickly. No menus or silverware provided upon being seated. Waitress comes by and gets our drink order. Shocked we did not have menus. Brings drinks and menus to us. We order the dynamite shrimp appetizer the shrimp and chicken ziti w/ ceasar side salad, and a blue burger. Salad arrives and we are still without silverware. We ask a random waitress for some and she promptly brought us some. Food tasted good. Dynamite shrimp was large shrimp perfectly fried and good flavor. Ziti pasta was flavorful and large portion. Biggest issue was the sauce was real watery. Blue burger was a chunk of meat! Bun had a great flavor and softness to it. Biggest hit was the dang fries! They were a unique size and were so good! Biggest issues: 1. We were given glasses that were dirty. 2. Our waitress was very inattentive to certain things like silverware, dirty glasses. She spoke so softly it was hard to hear her. 3. Food arrived before appetizer did.

After taking family pictures they wanted to go here. We had a large group but they made the accommodations. I didn't like the fact that they sat us in a room but then separated us into 3 different tables. They may have did it for the servers but as a family we would've like to all dine together and that didn't happen. The appetizers were pretty good. I started off with the fried pickles with were okay. I prefer the pickle spears. You couldn't taste much of the pickles and they were pretty salty. The ranch was also really runny. The dynamite shrimp were great. We paired it with the ranch from the pickles and my son was able to eat it. It tamed down the kick for him. The GB smothered chicken I ended it sending it back. While it looked great it lack in flavor. The chicken tasted like nothing in addition to the gravy and queso poured over the top. I attempted to had salt n pepper but that didn't help. My sister had ordered the blackened chicken Alfredo which I didn't get a picture of but she stated the same thing that the dish lack in flavor. Even with the chicken being blacked it didn't look as such. One of the kids ordered the kids fingers which were just basic but the other had Mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese looked extremely dry also lacked in flavor. The kids did not eat it. I will not be back here.

1 Star - We Came for Dinner... We Left With a Story…read more My girlfriend, my mom, and I came to Dale's Restaurant in Southaven expecting a nice dinner. What we got instead was an unexpected exercise in patience. When we sat down, the place wasn't very busy, so we figured service would move along pretty smoothly. Unfortunately, our table seemed to be skipped multiple times. It felt like we accidentally sat at the "invisible guest" table because staff kept walking past us and forgetting what they were supposed to bring. While waiting, they brought us sweet tea and cornbread muffins. Now listen... I like sweet tea as much as the next Southerner, but this one was so sweet it felt like it skipped tea entirely and went straight to syrup. If hummingbirds ever open a restaurant, this would probably be their house drink. The cornbread muffins were an adventure of their own. They were very dry, spongy, and unusually sweet -- almost like someone confused cornbread with dessert. Imagine expecting cornbread and getting something closer to candy. That's the closest description I can give. The atmosphere didn't help the situation either. The vents above the dining area looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a while, the walls felt bland and lifeless, and several tablecloths were torn. Along the bottom trim where the wall meets the floor, it looked like there was some serious wear and possible moisture damage going on. After waiting long enough and tasting what we had, we decided to call it. I spoke with the manager, who did apologize and told us not to worry about the bill, which I appreciated. That was probably the best part of the visit. At that point we decided to leave and find dinner somewhere else. Nick's Final Bite: We came for dinner... but left with sweet tea syrup and a cornbread identity crisis.

I had the three piece dark chicken with the sweet potatoes casserole and mash potatoes with gravy. The mashed potatoes had quite a few lumps and everything kind of gave a powdery taste (gravy, casserole, and mashed potatoes). When I say powdery... I'm saying that it just wasn't giving "homemade". It's not intolerable but it's not what you look for when you go to a soulfood restaurant. I also wasn't a fan of the wait. We have some made to order items so it was understood about the 20 minute wait, but we didn't get our food until almost an hour after paying. The extra time waiting seemed to be due to fried green tomatoes not being made in tandem with the fried chicken. As a result, everything was luke warm by the time we got the food. It's truly sad because the flavor is definitely there. The texture, the powdery residual taste and the wait time leaves me at this place being a one time experience at the least and a, "if I had to" at the most.

The catfish is made to order, was perfectly crispy and well seasoned. Definitely top 3 catfish meals for me in the area. The mac and cheese was some of the best I have had. It was creamy and savory, it wasn't too fatty and had a firm texture. It was definitely the highlight of the meal. The green beans had a bit of a mushy texture but I really enjoyed regular green beans. The meal comes with a side or cornbread which was filling , fluffy and sweet. Fantastic soul food for me. The banana pudding was also delicious. You can also actually taste banana not just sugar. The people working there were honestly so kind and chill. They knew what to recommend and added to the dining experience. My only criticisms come with how some of the food is prepared for example the green been texture being on the mushy side is likely due to it being presented similarly to a buffet. We had family from the west coast here and the whole point of going to Memphis BBQ was for them to enjoy southern BBQ and I feel they didn't get the whole experience. Another thing, our waiter specifically said he put the 3 kids meals on one order so they would come out first... guess which ones came out last out of all 9 of us? Yeah, the kids. And the food was piping hot for them so they barely ate anything by the time we were all done with our meals. Which our meals were actually good. Except the water. Has an awful chlorine taste to it. Lastly, weren't we supposed to get complimentary pork rinds? I completely forgot about that until after we left or I would have asked for them.
