My husband and I came here yesterday for dinner as we celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary and it was amazing. The staff from the start of us walking in greeted us with smiles and seated us right away. Our waiter, DJ was beyond amazing with checking in on us periodically and getting our food out quickly. The food was good as well. Everything was well seasoned and came out hot.The atmosphere was surprisingly quiet ( I thought it would be loud because it is a sports bar), clean, and cute. Presentation and variety? Solid. Drinks? Nicely done. But here's my one note: for a place inspired by New Orleans, don't be shy with the Cajun seasoning! I specifically had to asked for it as most items lack flavor, taste and it made the difference. They've got it in the back--time to let it shine across the board! The food here is very good. Everything comes out hot and fresh. The waffle fries have a good flavor. The cheese burger sliders came out hot and the cheese was melted. The bacon was fully cooked on top of it. The redfish had a good flavor and was a good portion. The broccoli is a good side. There ware so many TVs you can view them from any seat. I went on a Sunday for my birthday. We had a party of 8 with a wait time of approximately 1 hour. It was relatively busy with many large parties. We were sat at Hightop tables with 12 chairs despite the size being a party of 8. Our server was overall nice and attentive. The manager also came out to speak and even was able to answer franchise and founder questions when asked. Drinks were given out relatively fast. 4 of us order an alcoholic beverage which was enjoyed by all. We ordered 5 appetizer (3 of which were the same thing), even considering how busy the restaurant was, we felt like the appetizers took awhile. However, when they did come out, everyone was satisfied. There was no obvious kid menu so we ordered the children regular sized meals. After the fact, we realized there was a kids menu online. The appetizers came about 10-20 minutes before the food so the actual meals didn't seem to take long since the appetizers took so long. We had a variety of food including burgers, chicken tenders, pasta, seafood, chicken wraps, and quesadillas. Most were great. The fries were good however although we had 3 different ketchup bottles on the table they were all close to empty so we had to request more. We did have to send a burger back because it had BBQ sauce on it amd we were inaware, they remade it without the sauce with no extra charge. I specifically had the buffalo chicken wrap. It was delicious. It was not too spicy and included bacon. The meal included waffle fries. White the fries were decent, I was disappointed that I could not make them loaded fries. I was told if I wanted that then I had to order the appetizer and could not just add bacon and cheese to them. When our bill came it was decent considering all we ordered. Been here 3 times and still no good experience. The service here is not good. All the servers stand around and talk to each other. Not the friendliest staff either. Made my last visit on Wednesday. We ordered the gator bites. Ate through almost half of them, the rest were raw. RAW!! When the waitress finally came back, she offered to remove them from our bill. 2 minutes later, manager comes out and said we ate half. They would only discount half the price. The service was great! Our server Nykole was wonderful, personable and offered suggestions which I like. I was there on a Monday evening around 6pm with a party of 3. We were seated promptly and they were buzzing with excitment of any good sports bar. We wanted to be on the patio because inside was a bit chilly. The ladies restroom was clean however they did not have papertowels to dry your hand after washing so I got a wad of toilet tissue. We ordered drinks and they came right out. Appetizers were descent but sent the chicken and sausage gumbo back for being salty returned the spinach dip for lack flavor and burnt chips. I ordered the Hangover burger that has sunny-side egg on it but my egg was over cooked. One large red onion that took over the burger and the actual burger was salty and a bit charred. The flavor was not really there but was descent and hand pattied so that was a plus. It came with waffle fries that were light brown and cold, definitely not hot so that was disappointing. My cocktail of the night was Death Valley and it was descent as well. Price point is in line with new prices for basic food $15 for mixed drink in a plastic keepsake cup and $16 for burger and fries. With tip I paid $40, no complaint because Nykole deserves the tip but food was just ok. The shrimp were bacon wrapped and stuffed with a sweet and spicy glaze and they paired well with the cheesy grits. Daughemter had buffalo wings and kid's cheeseburger. She enjoyed it. The kid's cheeseburger is very small though. Hubby had the Lousiana platter and his only complaint was the etoufee was watery. I ordered e red the Louisiana platter and it had a couple of slivers of catfish, 4 shrimp and 3 hush puppies with waffle fries. Everything was cold, like it had been sitting on a shelf, not even under a heat lamp to keep it warm. Then after about ten minutes they brought my wife's reddish tacos, her plate was also cold. I asked for a sweet tea and got unsweetened, had to get that fixed. Then when I asked for a refill, again telling the waiter sweet, guess what hot another unsweetened. I will definitely go here again because the atmosphere is amazing is energetic. We had 10 people with us and the service was amazing. The servers were on top of us as far as drinks or necessities. We have three birthdays and we had the entire restaurant clapping and singing it's truly one of one when it comes to atmosphere. It did take a while for our food to get to us, but the restaurant was packed and the cooks can only do so much so I'm not going to deduct many points. After visiting several other WalkOns around the state, including the Oxford and Starkville locations, we decided to give the new Snowden Grove location a try, that has been open since March. After we, (a party of 4 adults) were seated, our waitress Reagan brought us our drinks and informed us that she was also taking care of a party of 15 seated in the outdoor section, on the other side of the restaurant. She said that she had to go get their drinks and would be back. This was at 7:15 PM. At around 8:00 PM, almost all the tables around has that sat down well after us, has received their food, ate, and left. During this time, after being told twice that our food was "being prepared", I finally approached the manger on duty, just looking for some answers of what was taking so long. She then disappeared into the kitchen for 20 minutes. At 8:20 when she finally came back, she told us that "it has only been 35 minutes since the order was placed, and that it was because of another large party that had arrive after us." After finally receiving our food at 8:40, not one apology for the wait was issued from any staff member. I would say the most pleasant part of the meal was getting the "have a blessed night" from the hostess at the front door. Final Thoughts: - One apology for the wait from the waitress or manager would have been nice, and the appropriate thing to do. - I understand waiting for our food is not a problem, and is often uncontrollable by the waitress, but being given a response of it hasn't been as long as we thought, is unacceptable. - The food was average. read more
