We used these guys a few months ago for an in-town move. It was short move and we were planning on doing some ourselves so I was looking for a company that charged by the hour. I hired these guys to come back using my own supplies and it was great! 4 guys packed it up in about a day for the move the following day. It was the same 4 guys and 2 additional on move day and they loaded everything nicely. They worked hard and was mostly careful with my things on the way in. There were a few wall scratches and they made an extra trip back to grab some large doll houses we had so that was nice of them. 5 star review but for the wall scratches, I wiould still highly recommend these guys for your move. read more

I cannot express how thankful we are for the team that loaded our belongings onto their truck from the PODS storage and unloaded at our apartment in downtown Atlanta. Richard, Lavanty, and Mari went through stairs and elevators to get our belongings into our apartment. They called us before arriving to the PODS storage to let us know they were on their way. They assured us they would load us up and meet us at our apartment. That was so helpful because we were then able to get settled into our apartment before they arrived. read more

I hired Atlanta and Georgia Home Movers after being assured that their truck was large enough to handle my entire 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom townhome move. They confidently told me their 27' truck was sufficient -- but that could not have been further from the truth. Their truck is nowhere near large enough for a full home move like mine. It's more suitable for an apartment or small condo at best. As a result, they left behind an unbelievable amount of my belongings -- far more than I ever expected. I now have to rent a large U-Haul and finish the move myself, which completely defeats the purpose of hiring professional movers in the first place. I feel misled and incredibly frustrated. If you have a larger home or townhome, save yourself the time, stress, and money -- look elsewhere for a company that's honest about what their trucks can actually handle. See the pictures of what there 27' trucks CAN'T hold. For townhome and SFH homeowners find a moving company with adequate sized moving trucks and don't waste your time here. Additional commentary after the company continued to text me to persuade me to remove my honest review of this service for 30% refund or discount: I chose Georgia Home Movers based on the many positive reviews, but unfortunately, my experience has been the complete opposite. This has turned out to be a very poor decision on my part. The truck your team brought was nowhere near large enough for my 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom townhome, despite your assurances. First of all, Julian, Mike Neil, and Erin were FANTASTIC movers. The utmost care was given to our furniture and belongings. They asked where things needed to be when they were unsure. I never once worried about my stuff during this move, and that's the first time that's ever happened. Having moved 10+ times in my life, I was on guard, but the moment I met these guys, I was put at ease. The company was easy to work with, and very affordable. This is so disheartening to write because our experience in February 2021 with Georgia Home Movers was fantastic (I left a 5 star Google review still posted). I hired a move for a two bed/two bath apartment with storage garage. I was given the recommendation by the company's over the phone estimate of three movers with a 26 foot truck which I accepted. When the movers arrived, the Foreman immediately told me this move was too big for 1 truck. While he was correct and I did order a second truck for a few days later, the Foreman complained the entire time. "This is a lot of stuff" and so forth. We felt judged about the possessions we own. Fast forward to the second move needed. The Foreman complained even more. He called me prior to arriving saying condescendingly "do you all have everything packed?". He then arrived into the apartment saying "this is more stuff than I remember". He then rushed the pack and left multiple items at the apartment such as a ladder, vacuum cleaner, and packed clothes. I was forced to rush & grab some remaining items and run to my car so I could arrive at our new house prior to the team's arrival. I then had to come back on my own the next day to grab all remaining items. The unpack also was not done for the second truck as multiple pieces of furniture were left unassembled and not handled with care. Packing materials were also left behind at our prior residence. The only reason this isn't a 1 star review is because the other movers, non Foreman, were friendly and worked well. My suggestion for Georgia Home Movers is to embrace a more customer focused mentality, people are paying good money to move. I understand being a mover is a tough & strenuous job, but a negative attitude by the moving company makes a move so much more stressful for customers than it already is. Also, do a more thorough pre-move assessment to determine the exact move size needed. The general assessment currently is not detailed enough for data points such as square footage and items owned which is why we had to hire a second truck at a later date. read more

Requested a quote from this company and Steven responded. I asked for a flat rate price with 4 movers and he quoted me $800 via text. I asked him to send me a confirmation email with the quote before I booked. When he sent me the email the flat rate changed from $800 to $1000. I asked him to fix the error and resend and he never responded. Sounds like a good ol' bait and switch to me. That's why always get things in writing! Where to begin. If I could give zero stars, I would. Hiring this company was one of the worst decisions we've ever made. Not only did they damage multiple items during the move--including our bed, daughters furniture patio furniture, wall at the house we were moving out of etc. --but they also got their truck stuck on our property due to poor driving and then had the nerve to charge us for the time they were stuck. Yes, we were billed while their own mistake held up the move. We let then know in advance that the driveway was steep and were informed it wouldn't be a problem But the absolute deal breaker? One of their movers was caught urinating on the side of our house. You read that right--he literally peed on our home. No apology. No explanation. Just complete disrespect. Not to mention we live in the woods and had functioning faculties. Completely unprofessional, careless, and offensive. I hired GA home movers to help with my move in December. I have to say the initial booking went very well and was smooth. I was locked in at $160/hour which I thought was pretty good because everywhere else was way more. Overall I'm happy that my stuff got moved, there were no hidden fees, and nothing got broken (like it did last time with Bellhop). But, I had three movers obviously the lead guy was on top of it, the other guy was lazy as hell and kept saying how he hated his job, and the last guy was somewhere in between. I understand that having to move someone out of and into a place with stairs is very annoying and tiring. But, I myself was also working just as hard as the movers which probably should not have been like that but I honestly felt that if I had not done that, I would've been way over the three hours that was allotted me. My biggest complaint was that when we got to the move in location instead of taking some things to my room they just left everything downstairs for me to do it. So I barely have any clothes or shoes or anything in my actual room. But, the lead guy did set up the beds so I guess there's that. Yes, I did still tip generously because although I was annoyed with those things (and also exhausted which I'm sure they were too) I was happy it was over. *Update from 3 stars to 5* After posting this review I was contacted by the owner who wanted to speak about resolving the issue and I declined thinking there was nothing further to be done. But, Vladimir the owner, being the kind person I assume him to be got in contact with me and got more info about the situation and genuinely apologized. I have to say that after speaking to him I can tell he wants to run a respectable company. I was assured the movers received further training (not fired). Vladimir really cares about his customers and business reputation and I really appreciate that because it's not seen too often. I can say although the initial move didn't go as planned after receiving the call from Vlad I would definitely reconsider booking with GA home movers again knowing that it's ran by someone who actually cares about customer satisfaction. read more

Moving team arrived on time and got everything moved from one house to the other. The actual work was great. However, upon going back to the old house to clean up for the next person I discovered damage to walls and trim beyond a few bumps and such. I reported damage to the manager and was told I would get a call back after he speaks to the team and never heard back. It was definitely frustrating to have to fix the walls and such after the work was completed. ***EDIT - a member from the claims department called and actually listened to what happened and offered a partial refund for the damage made to my house. UPDATE: I am updating my review to 4 stars because management reached out to me and offered ways to make it right which I appreciate. I think I experienced an off-day with them and the high heat was a factor. Original Review: I changed movers for my last move just to save a little money and this was a mistake on my part. I ended up wasting money with how long the move took. The guys who did my move were courteous to me but the actual move took such a long time, I definitely took my last movers for granted. They shrink wrapped my mattress instead of using my mattress bags I provided and that ripped in multiple parts- dirtying my mattress in the process. The moving truck overheated on 75 and that left me waiting for an hour at the new place while they got towed. The worst part about it was that when I talked to dispatch/the supervisor on the phone he seemed pretty unconcerned and also told me about how depending on the tow they might not get to my apartment until 6-7pm. The leasing office locks up the moving elevator when they close at 6. He calmly suggested they hold my things overnight in that case. So where would I sleep? He worried me for no reason because they ended up getting here 30 minutes after that phone call. He shouldn't have told me time estimates until talking to the tow company. Anyway- This company requires a deposit when my last company didn't, is inefficient, and not super reliable. By the end of that mess (and it being hot) the guys were so tired they didn't really finish up- I still have furniture covered in shrink wrap. I live by myself and now have to work pretty hard to get things where they are supposed to be. They also left a dolly in my apartment and had to come back. They showed up with one of the 2 dollys having a flat tire, and didn't have anything sharp to cut through the wrapped furniture when we were unloading so that took a while. I got the call that they were in route to my apartment originally about 10 min before they showed up when I was supposed to be called around 30 min out. It was a hard day on all of us so I'm not taking this out on the guys who moved me but this company needs to work on its customer service, truck maintenance, and efficiency. There was an overall lack of preparedness which is really frustrating since it cost me time and money. TLDR: Find a different moving company. read more

I reached out to Georgia home movers for a quote via yell and received a response within an hour! They were super quick to respond and answer my questions. I called a few days later and was able to set up movers for my move in 2 weeks. Robert was the lead and he had Marcus C, Calvin, and izekiel on his team! They were AWESOME! Robert called me in the morning during the window given and gave me his eta and introduced himself. Him and his team were early to our pick up location. They were timely and efficient and moved our 3 storage units out and into our new home. They asked us for direction on which rooms our items went into and handled everything with care. They made sure not to damage anything in our new house as well. They offered to help us assemble things if we needed as well. I highly recommend GA Home movers!! UPDATE: "Vladimir" contacted us and blames us for everything. He claimed that we didn't provide any packing materials (blankets, etc.). We provided over $1,000 in heavy duty blankets (over 200-blankets), many of which weren't used. We provided bubble wrap, paper, etc. Vladimir was very disrespectful and condescending. AVOID THIS BUSINESS! We rated Georgia Home Movers (GHM) 5-stars in May 2022. Unfortunately, our unloading experience then was a vast difference than our recent loading experience. First of all, our quoted rate was based on a crew of 5, where at least 1 or 2 showed up an hour or so after the start time. Secondly, the crew was unable to fit the same amount of household goods we had moving in as we did moving out - same size trailer (U-Pack). The trailer wasn't packed tight for transport and several feet of overhead wasn't maximized by the crew either. We requested that the load be secured by section, but the crew ignored us. It was a hot day, so we provided plenty of Gatorade and water. The crew left us with empty plastic bottles all over the exterior and interior of the house - even on the street. The little area we had carpeted in the house was left stained and multiple areas of the house had gouges, scratches, etc. The crew didn't want to be here - they kept on mentioning having to leave for an out-of-state job. Our household goods (including antiques, collectibles and everyday items) were completely destroyed as a result of how the trailer was packed and items shifting. The moving crew on the opposite end were shocked of how the items were loaded onto the trailer - sections were not secured, boxes were already crushed while being loaded and at the end when items could not longer fit in the trailer, items were being thrown carelessly on top. The best part was when they claimed that the trailer was full, left with multiple items in the middle of our driveway and left. Yet, we were still generous and tipped over 30%. We definitely wouldn't recommend based on our experience this second time around. We spent and provided over $1,000 thick moving blankets (many of which weren't used by the crew) and additional supplies (bubble wrap, shrink wrap, etc.). read more

Wayne, Leonard and Quan did a great job during my recent move. They quickly and efficiently loaded and unloaded the truck even while having to navigate stairs with heavy furniture. UPDATE: I got in contact with the claims department and a full refund of moving costs was provided. On the positive side, the movers arrived on time, were friendly, and moved quickly. I initially considered the move a success until I tried to turn on my television and realized it was no longer working as the front panel had been damaged. When you call the company, you are directed to submit all claims via e-mail which is fine. However it has been 4 days since I submitted the claim and have not received any confirmation of receipt or other communication. This is really disappointing because my actual move experience was positive. I would not recommend using this company if your move includes any large electronics. If I had known this in advance, I would have found other means to transport my TVs. read more

**UPDATE: This company refuses to acknowledge their company's poor behavior and insufficient supplies and only offered me a partial refund under the condition that I remove a BBB complaint and this negative Yelp review, which is unethical. I have had to pay hundreds of dollars to correct what they messed up. According to them, my damages are negligible, but this is my home! When I shared that I wouldn't remove it but would update it to state that we settled, Vladimir said that he didn't have to settle with me at all. This company is very shady. Avoid at all costs. **ORIGINAL: I booked this move to my new home weeks in advance, including packing and moving services. The movers arrived on Sunday to pack arguing with one another and with insufficient materials. They stayed for roughly 4-5 hours and had no tape, shrink wrap, or markers and a small amount of boxes and wrapping paper. I happened to have a roll of duct tape they could use which is why some boxes were able to be packed. The lead assured me that he'd bring sufficient materials. (I'd like to note that most of home was already boxed, so this should never have taken this long.) The crew arrived the next day at the end of the specified window at 11 am, so it was already pretty hot outside. This matters because they claimed they were moving slowly because it was hot outside. They still had insufficient supplies, so we used my delivery boxes (intended to be trashed) to pack my belongings. I later discovered while unpacking that they barely adding cushioning to any of the boxes (see example photo) so many of my things ended up being scratched or broken. During this time, the crew spent most of time playing around with one another and FaceTiming friends. By the time they finished "packing" and loading my home, it was almost 5 pm. They said they needed a lunch break and replied it would be 30 minutes. I said okay and proceeded to my house, arriving in about 30 minutes. They arrived 90 minutes later, or at about 6 pm. It was raining hard by then so many of my belongings got wet and messy. They recklessly moved my belongings so there are multiples holes in my brand new walls and banister. I had to help them maneuver furniture in because they couldn't figure it out themselves. It was a horrible experience. By the time they finished, it was 9 pm. You can see the email thread between claims and me for how rude and disrespectful they are. I have now had to pay a painter to fix my wall as well as a handyman to move boxes to appropriate places in my home because the movers refused to label them correctly. After our plans fell through with Atlanta Home Movers (miscommunication), Atlanta Home Movers recommended their competitor, Georgia Home Movers, to us. Thanks to Atlanta Home Movers' help, Georgia Home Movers was able to fit us onto their schedule with less than a week's notice. To move a one-bedroom apartment, Georgia Home Movers quoted us $100/hour for two movers and a truck. We were originally scheduled for a 2-4pm Friday move, but the movers finished their first job early. They called us and said they could be on-site and ready to move by 1pm (one hour earlier than anticipated). We ended up meeting them at 1:30pm and they got to work right away. They arrived in a clearly-marked truck and wore company-branded T-shirts. There were three guys instead of two because one of them, the foreman/driver, recently suffered a lower leg injury. We didn't have much stuff for them to move, just a mattress, box spring, small desk, three lamps, a small set of drawers, and seven boxes. At the origin, they had to navigate one flight of stairs (no elevator). They wrapped up the mattress to protect it. They packed up the truck and were ready to go in about 30-45 minutes. It only took one mover to carry the queen mattress and one mover to carry the box spring. One mover was also able to move a stack of boxes on a hand truck (dolly) down a set of stairs by himself. These guys were pros. We met them at the destination. At the destination, I showed them the path they would have to take from the driveway into the condo. I also showed them a couple alternative routes. They plotted out the quickest and most efficient path to take (the first one I showed them). They loaded up the elevator and proceeded to move everything in just two elevator trips. They were done around 3pm, so about two hours total from the time we met them at the origin to the time they left at the destination. Quick! They helped us set up the desk and unwrap and set up the bed where we wanted them. We were charged $100 at the end of the move. Plus the $100 deposit, it was $200 total in charges. We offered cold Gatorade and bottled water to the guys and tipped each one $20. So $260 total for a two-hour, relatively light move, with three movers and a truck. I thought it was reasonable. The guys were Ricky (lead), Marty, and Zone. They were a fun, upbeat bunch. Ricky sang "Cry Me a River" when they first started moving stuff. He said moving was part of his ab workout. Marty and I got to talking and it turned out I had actually met his mother at her restaurant, Soul Food Train, in Marietta. What a small world. read more

*Since posting this review the company manager has contacted me to apologize, recommend training for their staff and has offered to have my furniture fixed by their team. I've used this company before and enjoyed their quality in the past. I've used this company before along with many other movers over the years. This move was the WORST MOVE ever and it was due to the quality of the young men doing the move. I was moving a one bedroom in to a storage unit and selected the rate for 3 guys so that the move could be done within the 2 hour minimum. Everything was fine until we arrived at the storage unit and all three of them started complaining that the 10'x10' unit wasn't going to fit all my stuff. They started putting the items in the unit randomly paying no attention to size or strategy. I started giving them direction because I could immediately tell they had no idea what they were doing. One of the guys got frustrated and assured me that everything would fit. I told them that I would go get some water for everyone and wouldn't hover. When I came back they had simply shoved everything in and even threw some of my stuff on top of the pile. The next day I came back and reorganized the unit and found plenty of room when it was packed correctly. Unfortunately I found corners of my furniture scraped where the set it on the concrete and pushed it. Solid moving job by Georgia Home Movers. Communication was good, arrived on-time, put in the effort to wrap everything safely, and worked quickly. They also helped set up whatever I needed in the new place. After all that they still beat the estimated move time by about 15 minutes. There were some issues noted after the move that Vladimir addressed immediately and had a crew member out within days to remediate, which was completely unexpected. While the fact that I needed to hire movers three separate times in the past year was unbelievably annoying - this company has made the process doable, to the point where I would say they make moving convenient. "Stress free movers" they are not! We moved from a Marietta home into storage in anticipation of a future move to North Carolina. That occurred in July 2021. We are now on the receiving side of that move. We have moved over 20 times in our 48 year marriage and we can tell you that this was the absolute worst move of our entire married life. Most of the movers were enjoying their rap music and taking cell phone calls while working. Boxes were not packed consistently and labeled, items were left unpacked all over the Marietta house. There were insufficient boxes though we accepted their estimate and even told them to get more on the day of the move. Those unpacked items had to be personally moved by loading our cars to the max and driving them North. In North Carolina, we had to find places where we could keep these items that really belonged in storage and it led to an overloaded messy home life for over two years. Our belongings were moved to North Carolina in May. Our movers on the receiving end verbally noted to us what a horrible job of packing was done by Georgia Home Movers. They said that they had never seen such a poor job and that these movers were not even equal to a novice mover. The Marines have two words to describe this: "cluster ____." We attempted to open a claim for some of the damaged items and we were never recontacted. It was so bad that we have been challenged to unpack from this mess for 5 months to the point where it was imperative to hire a professional organizer to recover the full use of the two houses involved on the North Carolina side of the move. The move is still costing us money. I definitely do not recommend Georgia Home Movers even to pick up trash and haul it to a dump. How they get these good ratings is beyond comprehension. However, we ran into an HVAC company several years ago that was also a "dumpster fire" and they wrote their own reviews. I think that is what happened here and, as evidence, I want you to note that in virtually every review, their employees are mentioned by name. That is not typical for the average reviewer, but it points to a consistency that comes from single authorship. You don't have to take my word for it; check it yourself, don't waste your money, and find a better mover. They will probably find some excuse for this terrible experience; don't pay any attention to them. read more

I used Georgia Home Movers yesterday and was so happy with my experience! The team was communicative, efficient, and flexible. For 2 trucks and 6 guys to move 3 bed, 2000 sf took about 6 hours and cost half of what I expected! Huge shoutout to the team - Josh, Sed, Coop, Binky, Lobo, and Sayvion. The company damaged over $6,000 worth of my property, and then denied the insurance claim. 1) Lack of strategic packing: It took the moving crew over 4 hours to pack up the storage facility. After three hours, I called John to inquire about their ETA. He informed me that it was too much to fit into the truck. He said that several chairs would not fit. It took them over an hour to resolve the packing issue, and "make the chairs fit." 2) Lack of strategic unpacking: In lieu of using dollies, the crew unpacked almost every single item by hand. For instance, they brought in a single trashcan and a single fan in two trips. These are simply examples of the inefficiencies that were prevalent throughout my move. 3) Failure to follow instructions: I requested that several items, including an antique dresser and mattress be placed into the guest bedroom, but they put them into the other bedroom instead. I had to have family members come and assist me with moving these incredibly heavy items into the right locations. 4) Failure to put labeled boxes in the proper rooms: The boxes were labeled "kitchen", "office", "master", etc. In lieu of putting the boxes in the proper rooms, they simply put everything into 2 places upstairs. 5) Lack of Unwrapping/Placing Furniture: The crew did not unwrap a single item that was shrink wrapped for inspection. Instead, my mother had to unwrap items and move them to the proper wall placement. 6) Extended Time for Moving: The move from the storage unit to my home took 50% more time than moving into the storage facility. I believe the delays were based on a lack of strategic moving. 7) Inappropriate Joking: The crew was joking and laughing about passing gas during the move and stinking up my home. 8) Inappropriate Communication Follow Up: After I wrote a negative review via the survey, John sent me a 5-page text message alleging that he was "confused" about the negative review. A text message is not an appropriate means of communication to address my concerns. Additionally, I informed him that I was displeased with all of the broken items at the end of the night and the lack of strategic planning with the entire move that should not have taken 6+ hours. Great experience with communication and pricing. The two guys who moved us were ontime, friendly and thorough. They moved half of my house quickly, and I'm going to hire them again next month to complete the move. I would definitely recommend GA Home Movers. read more

Updated Review 3/9/2023 Vladimir reached out to me shortly after the review and was very understanding with my issue. He was able to give me a partial refund for the move and went out of his way to get approval for that. Accidents happen but it is good to know that Georgia Home Movers took the extra step to make things right. Initial Review 3/8/2023: I will start out by saying the moving process went very smoothly. Workers were efficient and friendly. However when I went to turn on my TV the next day after the move, I found that is was cracked on the bottom corner and would no longer turn on. I tried to call to report the issue but the number said they only take emails for this sort of thing. This is very frustrating not to get a response to an issue like this. Good attitude from my two movers and their effort was appreciated and great personality. I just don't understand how any moving company doesn't invest in the main pain point of customers which is " don't break my stuff". Regardless of who I have used this concern never gets addressed and that includes this mover. Tape is not enough, nor the blankets , you need human capital to think this out and have a preliminary view of place and furniture to map out work and how to not break things before day of move. This was my first time using movers so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I had an overall positive experience with Georgia Home Movers. They had one of the most reasonable rates compared to the other movers I looked at, so I decided to book a move with them. Scheduling was very easy - all on the phone and I received a text confirmation after. It was forecasted to rain during my move, so I was tempted to reschedule to a different date, but I would have lost my deposit, so I decided to keep the original move date. Luckily it ended up not raining! The movers called before they came and gave an ETA before they arrived. They arrived promptly and got everything packed and unloaded within 2.5 hours (I only moved like 10 minutes away and had only 1 bedroom worth of stuff - it look a little longer because I live on the 3rd floor at both places). Ricky (the lead mover I suppose?) and the other mover (I didn't get his name) was very thorough with the move and asked where I wanted everything when I arrived at the new place. Everything was packed securely with either plastic wrapping or moving blankets. Nothing was broken during the move either - they do offer insurance for valuables, but since I only have cheap IKEA furniture, I didn't bother to get it. I don't plan on moving anytime soon (mainly because moving is a huge pain and I don't want to subject myself to packing and unpacking again), but I would definitely book with them again. read more
