Whenever someone loses a love one, it takes a toll on the families heart and emotional wear being. I lost my daddy to a massive stroke in 2014, just days after we celebrated father's day together. On July 3, 2014 was daddy was laid to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery the United States National Cemetery. My daddy was a Vietnam veteran when he was in the U.S. Army as a military policeman. The Georgia National Cemetery made sure my daddy had the best place for his final resting place. Now my two son's and I have a beautiful place, to visit my beloved daddy during the 4th of July Holidays. Thanks Georgia National Cemetery, for keeping your cemetery beautiful all year long for my daddy. In Loving Memory of Waverly Sylvester Fields, U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran service as a military Police Officer.

I'm always humbled by the magnitude of lives represented and documented in military cemeteries. Sons, daughters, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters -- all remembered personally for a generation or two until slipping away to a picture, a history book, a tale passed down -- but all with that military commonality. Georgia National Cemetery in Canton seems more personal for my generation and the one or two preceding and perhaps following, mine. Because it opened in 2006, this cemetery has an immediate connection to the present. It's a huge location away from the ordinary things of daily life. There aren't many burials here yet, because it is so new, but it's that newness that had me struggling to breathe in a way unlike the other, older military cemeteries I've visited. The beautiful, serene hills both hold and surround the newly lost. With recently turned soil, some graves still lack a headstone but bear fresh or sometimes withering flower bouquets left from the funerals. The latest date was 4 days before my visit. It was hard to breathe in that open air. The names are on small white pieces of paper held in place by a metal and plastic marker until the headstones are put into place. Even those temporary markers are placed with military precision. Breathe. I had to remember to breathe. During my visit, I saw a young man sitting for the longest time facing a headstone, staring at it, never looking away, sometimes whispering, and then, as he cried, walking back to his truck. At the same time, a middle-age couple walked to another grave, picking up the old flowers and putting down the new. She looked as though she was cleaning and dusting, like a mother cleaning a child's room. They hugged each other and stood quietly staring down and then off into the distance, lost in thought for as least 20 minutes. They were still there when I left. I had to leave; the air was too thick. This location is personal. So is breathing. It's too hard to do that here.

For the reasons one must have to come here, you can expect to encounter the most thoughtful, respectful, caring and dignified personnel, who are also veterans. As difficult as it is to have to come here, they treat your loved ones with the upmost respect and honor while dutifully seeing them to a final resting place. The grounds of the Georgia National Cemetery are monumentally sacred and speak volumes through silence. It's difficult to see the beauty here in the midst of such sorrow. However, there is a certain calmness that comes from the tradition and rituals performed for your loved ones commitment and service. All I could do was to stand quietly amongst the graves and silently thank all of those interred here for their honorable and faithful service to our country, while hearing the faint sounds of TAPS echoing across the hills. It's both heartbreaking and beautifully breathtaking to experience.

Lauren was a dream to work with. I sing her praises! Our wedding day seriously wouldn't have been possible without her. The Rock Barn itself was super clean, easy to set up, extremely flexible, and just gorgeous to look at! Of course a diy venue has its own challenges, but most importantly it allowed us to bring our wedding day ideas to life. We got to use our own vendors and decorate the way we wanted! I can't brag on this place enough.

The marker reads as the following: Crescent Farm Rock Barn The Crescent Farm Rock Barn was constructed in 1906 by Augustus "Gus" Lee Coggins. One of a rare number of rock barns constructed in Georgia, the Rock Barn, together with the nearby Georgian Revival style main house, constitutes the core of the original Crescent Farm. Originally a racehorse stable, the rock barn was one of three barns on Coggins' cotton and horse farm. It was built to replace a wooden barn destroyed in a fire which killed valuable race horses. The Rock Barn is made of rock quarried on the original farm from the banks of the Etowah River. Coggins bred and raised horses for harness racing. Crescent Farm was widely known in the racing circle because of Abbedale, its world class horse. Abbedale brought fame to Crescent Farm and is listed in the Harness Racing Hall of Fame in Goshen, NY. Abbedale sired six pacers with two-minute mile records. 028-5 Georgia Historical Marker 1990.

Rebecca was incredibly easy to communicate with and helped me set everything up ahead of time. I felt incredibly taken care of from the first interaction through when they dropped us off at our doorstep and carried our wine to the door. Chris picked my friend and I up and we met Rebecca with the van which they decorated with a darling happy birthday sign, cold water, and an assortment of snacks. I was blown away by their hospitality. Before hitting the road they reviewed the wineries we planned to visit and then we were off. Rebecca drove safely and made conversation with us along the way. Chris was very knowledgeable about the vineyards and wines. Each time we arrived at a new vineyard Chris opened the car door and offered his hand as we stepped down from the van. He opened the vineyard door and helped us find seats at each winery, and then gave us space to enjoy our tasting. Between tastings he made sure we were comfortable and had plenty of water and snacks. He even brought our next tasting out to our seats so that we wouldn't need to get up- it was truly FULL service in every single way. I never once felt rushed by him or Rebecca, and their smiling faces and easy demeanor really created the perfect environment for my friend and I to cut loose and enjoy ourselves. After our tastings we said goodbye and Chris drove us back to our cabin where he personally carried the box of wine to our front door. He thanked us for spending the day with him and was on his way. I cannot recommend Chris and Rebecca enough! I will absolutely be booking with them again. I highly recommend them for any trip! Their prices are incredibly reasonable- and the service is top notch. I was blown away and cannot wait to book another trip with them!
