I've visited this pumpkin patch for the past 3 years and I've seen them make progress of adding small details. They have the tractor ride that rides in a circle, they brought the pumpkins to the front so you no longer need to get on the tractor. What do they have - farm animals ( 3 goats 2 chicken and 2 pigs) - funnel cakes and hot dogs - a bathroom - a old play slide Parking is $5 and this year the pumpkins were on sale for 1 for $15 or 2 for $20. How can this place be improved adding more activities for people to do. Improving the tractor ride sitting area the wood is loose (lost screws and it's a bit poking). If you waited too long to go to the pumpkin patch and live around the area then I would recommend Berry Patch Farms. read more

We've been many times over the years. The quantity of what they have available is not as much as other farms. Yet, it's the closest place to go and pick berries, buy a pumpkin or a Christmas tree depending on the season. If I remember correctly they also had farm animals which was a bonus! read more

Berry Patch Farm is a very simple place to visit. You can probably do everything in an hour. $5 to park, to ride a pony $5 , they have one ride for $3 , face painting $2 to $3, and make sure you bring cash. You can ride the tractor for free and drop you off so you can pick up your own pumpkin. They have a small play area. This is one of the most relaxing things you can do at 6am. It seems ridiculous but the atmosphere makes you feel like your part of a prairie. The goats run right up to the children when the owner calls them and they are oh so friendly. I went with my step mom and it was foggy and cool that day. I've been here two times now for blueberry picking. It's the closest U-Pick farm I know of in the northern suburbs, which makes it convenient. The berries are $1.99 per pound. I was able to get about 3 and a half pounds worth in about 45 minutes of picking. The place gets popular on Saturdays, with about 30 cars in the lot when I left about 9:45 am. You might want to get there early if you want to avoid the crowds. Picking season is supposed to last until Aug 4. The one quibble I have is that the berry bushes are a little unkempt with a lot of vines over growing over them. Some of the aisles are overgrown so it's a little hard to navigate. That being said, I still didn't have problems finding plenty of good berries. The staff is friendly and warn you about some poison ivy on some if the bushes. This is a good place for a family outing with a lot of families with young children out picking berries. I definitely plan on coming back each season to stock up on blueberries. read more

A quick half day trip from Atlanta, this is a good place to pick up some pumpkins and eat some autumn themed junk food like roasted peanuts, cider, and fried pies. There is not much more to it than that besides jars of jam and barbecue sauce, and Halloween face painting, but it is a good time. Inefficiency is part of this farm's charm. The tourist area is a large circle and you get from one place to another via hayride. You need the hayride because the pumpkins and the place you pay for them are in different places. It has a bit of a contrived feel, though, because you're not actually PICKING the pumpkins; they've been picked from who knows where (I overheard one guy speculating Whole Foods) and dumped right next to the parking lot for you to sort through. This is not my preferred method of pumpkin picking as the selection has clearly been sorted through already - there are only fairly large, healthy looking pumpkins available. The farm does, however, have mini-pumpkins and gourds growing in an accessible field. Hauling the pumpkins on the hayride to stand in the fried pie line to pay - with cash or check only, by the way - seems an unnecessary hassle. The carving pumpkins are all really heavy, and thus really expensive (69 cents a pound). Carrying a big pumpkin and several little pumpkins is not doable unless you have some sort of bag, so bring one. It was crowded more in the morning and for some reason and thinned out in the early afternoon. The crowd consists largely of CHILDREN. Lots and lots and lots of children. This is of course understandable, but I had sort of hoped to find a place that catered to a more diverse crowd. The children are by and large cute, and some of them were dressed Halloween-y. To sum up, this is fun, but not exactly as much fun as I was looking for after being spoiled by the Ashland Berry Farm growing up in Virginia. And I probably won't go here again unless I am toting an infant. read more

I took my Girl Scout troop here today and we had the best time! It was the perfect size farm with activities not super far from each other. I don't enjoy walking really long distances with kids because they tire easily. The prices for activities were very reasonable. Face paint, merry go round, tractor ride, pony ride and homemade pumpkin ice cream. I will say the pumpkins weren't in the best condition but we did visit right at the end of the season. read more

This was our second visit to Berry Patch Farms. Last year, we probably went too late in the month so the place was packed when we got there. And it was drizzling. This time we arrived on a sunny Saturday when they opened before it got too busy which made the experience much more pleasant. They were quite good at managing the traffic flow and directing the parking. BPF is located on a winding country road outside of Woodstock. The directions on their Web site are excellent, by the way. Don't try Mapquest. There is no admission fee. Pumpkins cost almost $1 a pound. This may seem rather pricey but considering you do not have to pay to get in, it kind of evens out. They also have a table with a line of pumpkins showing you what typical sizes will cost you what amount. That was very helpful as we did not see that last year and probably got a pumpkin that was bigger than we needed. We were one of the first groups to get a ride on the flatbed "hayride" attached to the tractor. It's a short tide out to the field. One area had a "photo op" place set up where you can sit on hay bales with pumpkins and gourds. They also had a pony ride corral set up for $5 a ride. People were very nice to offer to take pictures for you. One small field had gourds and mini-pumpkins. The pumpkins are clearly not grown at the farm but that didn't matter to us. My son (who is 3) had a blast looking around at all the pumpkins and finding one he liked. We also got him a mini pumpkin to carry around. Together, they cost around $13, which I thought was reasonable. After we rode back to the entrance, we visited the small farm animal collection (chickens, turkeys, pigs, goats). You cannot pet them but you can look. Another reviewer complained about the smell but hey, these are farm animals. They are not going to smell like freshly-cut lavender. The playground area is quite small and got a bit crowded. But our son really enjoyed the slide. They also had a station for free face painting. When you pay for your pumpkin (cash or check only), you can purchase pumpkin pie, fried pies, jams or jellyies and other items. They also had stands for popcorn, boiled peanuts, ice cream, apple cider, hot dogs and some stuff I probably missed. The fried apple pies ($2.50 each) were obviously homemade and delicious. The cashier who helped me was very friendly. The place is on the small side and no, they don't have a gigantic corn maze or bouncy castles or other attractions some people seem to go ga-ga over. But it does have a simple charm that I enjoy and I like that it isn't some kind of giant pumpkin amusement park that takes all day to see and experience. I also suggest heading into Woodstock for some barbecue at Beetle's. This was our second visit and it was, once again, very tasty! read more

The place looked so low budget... The hay ride seemed interminable as we rounded a flat piece of land with some shrubs. The pumpkin patch itself was a field with already-picked pumpkins lying around, mini pumpkins to be picked (up) on one side and huge pumpkins on the other for photo ops. It was pretty darn anticlimactic. They didn't sell enough delicious goods, and the ones they did sell were kind of expensive and nothing to rave about. Tiny with few activities, sad & overpriced food choices, and limited products. You can see that they've let the buildings deteriorate and down-scaled their offerings rather than maintain them. The road to parking is especially bad. The only saving grace is how close it is, and was the reason we tried this venue. We had a great time picking blueberries! There were so many berries and they tasted delicious! Love that they aren't sprayed with any chemicals so we could test them as we went (the kids really loves that!). The only negative was that there was quite a bit of poison ivy around the blueberry bushes (which they warned us about upon arrival). That made it a little nerve racking with little ones in tow. We managed to pick 2.5 pounds of blueberries and we were super thankful for the cloudy sky! We will definitely be back!! read more

Though I enjoy taking our kids to pick blueberries there , the bushes are over grown with painful thorny bushes that makes it extremely difficult to actually get any berries, especially with little ones. Could be a lot better with some better plant management. The location is nice and the staff is friendly enough. But the blueberries are sour even when ripe. So , these berries are better for canning or cooking with than eating. read more

It was a fairly small farm. It advertised as a Pick Your Own Pumpkin but in actuality, you just pick a pumpkin from a pile, not the field. There isn't much to do here. The staff is friendly and you do get to go on a short hayride, but not much else going on. They have fried pies but NOT fried pumpkin pie. I probably wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Here are a few suggestions I think they need in order to win some business from Burt's (many ppl would chose Berry Patch over Burts just due to location alone!) 1) a legitimate hay ride... 15-20 minutes in duration... scare crows... woods....Halloween decor..etc. 2) a General Store 3) a bigger better play ground and one that includes stuff for tiny tots to play on! We could've spent the afternoon out there if there was more to do. We left feeling unfulfilled....again.... We went last year at Christmas time to get our tree. I would give a 0 star if I could. I have purchased my Christmas tree at Berry Patch farms since my daughter was a baby, she is now 18 years old. I had the worse experience getting my tree today. 20 minutes after I paid I was still waiting for them to bag my tree when a trailer pulled up with a few trees that had just been selected. The guy who had been standing around talking in his phone went and got the new trees and the first one he took off went straight into the nagger. When I complained the response was unbelievable. They said my tree was harder to bag and the lady who works the register came around the corner yelling at me, in an ugly tone - did you get your tree? Over and over. She was so loud and sounded so ugly I didn't even realize she was taking to me. This will be the last tree I get from Berry Patch Farms. read more

The pumpkins were a little expensive I thought, but I've never been to a patch before. I settled on two small pumpkins and a gourd. The hay ride was nice and everyone there was friendly. They didn't have a whole lot of animals, just 2 pigs, a turkey, 2 goats and some chickens. They did have apple cider which was delicious, home made ice cream and fried blueberry pie which was amazing! I wasn't expecting to see pumpkins laying around on the ground, but rather with the vines still on them. Next year I want to check out more pumpkin patches. read more

I've been in the Woodstock area for over 20 years and I still prefer Berry Patch Farms the best. I like the idea of supporting a family business. I took my children to BPF for pumpkins, blueberries and Christmas decorations, and now I get to take my grand nephew. Going a little later in the after noon is less crowded and all the fun of a hayride, picking out a pumpkin, seeing the farm animals is a great out door experience. Our favorite was the turkey! The fried pies are homemade and delicious, the blueberries are from the farm in the summer. I say no thanks to corn mazes and bouncy houses, BPF is a wonderful experience. read more

We had a good time at this farm. Parking was a bit tight and the pumpkin field could have been a little more grand. Horseback riding in a circle was okay but it was only $5 so ibguess we got what we paid for. Every employee we came in contact with was really nice. Donuts and apple cider would have been a nice add. It wasn't as nice as some of the pumpkin patches we've visited in New Hampshire or Michigan but it did the job. read more

For cut your own tree experience, it's a total waste of time. They just have a bunch of lealand cypress in a big wild bunch. (No trimming, etc, and most were 10' tall.) They also have buy pre cut trees from NC so I gave them 2 stars in case that is what you want. Be careful about the old guy driv8ng the tractor. He can't hear, and he took off while another family was leaving the tractor. We used to go to Bottom ' s farm which is awesome, but we moved into this area. read more

I'm writing this review in response to Janet B's review, as you can clearly see, I don't review on Yelp, but I'm so disturbed by someone behaving so inappropriately, and then writing a dishonest review in an effort to hurt a local business. I have been coming to Berry Patch for 14 years and I was standing here waiting for my tree, while Janet B was here. No one yelled at her, she was the one raising her voice and cursing the young men who were trying to help her. This is a wonderful business and the woman who owns Berry Patch Farms is kind and generous, and in all the years I've been coming here, to pick pumpkins and blueberries, and to cut down our trees, my family has always been treated incredibly well. Everyone here is helpful and really nice. Coming to Berry Patch Farms to pick out a Christmas tree is an annual tradition for our family, we look forward to it, and I know if you bring your family here, you'll feel the same way we do. read more

This place is a dump. I'm sad I wasted any part of my day there. Even my 2 year old was bored out her mind. The animals look like they want to kill themselves or run away. The swingset looks like its been there since 1892. They served toddlers cold apple cinder on a freezing cold day. I bought 5 pumpkins at the store for the price of one there. The hayride felt unsafe and uncomfortable. All I am saying is please update this place. read more

I've been going to berry patch farms for well over 20 years & i went there yesterday (july 19) with my girlfriend to pick blueberries. What a disappointment. Unfortunately it seems its heyday has passed, at least for blueberries. The last few years I've visited the farm, I've been increasingly disappointed with the condition of the blueberry bushes. They're not maintained, pruned, or weeded. A number of bushes have died and no new bushes have been planted in their place. Ten years ago some of the bushes had small trees growing amongst them. Now those trees are 15 - 18 feet tall! Other bushes were covered with a canopy of vines and honeysuckle, making picking very difficult. A few bushes had been overcome with poison ivy! And of course some of the bushes had big pricker bushes growing amongst them too. There's a second patch of bushes at the back of the farm next to the woods that I always used to visit. It was my secret spot where very few people went and I Always did well there. It broke my heart when I saw it this time. All the bushes were covered over with big trees and even though the bushes were still there they had no berries. Without that second patch of bushes, the amount of acreage you can pick has been reduced by almost one-third. I was told that some people drive a long way to come there. If that was my business, I'd be embarrassed to have people show up with the bushes in that state of neglect. The owners are very nice people, but being nice doesn't keep weeds & trees from taking over. Sadly, I won't be going there again. The good old days where I used to strip huge fat blueberries off the branches is probably over unless new owners take over, or they hire some help to aggressively remove all the weeds. A decade of neglect has really hurt the berry picking. When I go to pick berries I shouldn't have to bring leather gloves, pruning shears and a saw just to get through the offending brush. But honestly that's what I felt I needed, otherwise I would have been torn apart by the briars and gotten a healthy dose of poison ivy. The bushes that did have berries had been heavily picked over and there were very few left for us. read more

Reading the reviews, I have to wonder, what do you think a farm is? What do you think a hayride is? What do you think animals are and do? This is a farm, not Disney World. Come on, people, get real! And as for picking pumpkins from the vine- how many hundreds of acres do you think you would have to wander over to get one? Bet you wouldn't like that. I give them 5 stars for the effort they put into providing an experience for folks who obviously don't appreciate it. Low budget? Bet you would have complained if you'd had to pay for high budget.
