Since he also needs a suit for a wedding this Thursday, he decided to quickly try on a few suits to see what size fit him while he was already there. He had just gotten off a yard job and had a little grass on him, but he was not dirty and was not trying to wear the suit around he was simply trying it on for a minute to figure out his size because he didn't have time to go all the way home, change, and come back. Instead of speaking to him respectfully, one of the employees immediately gave him attitude and said, "Why are you trying on the suit while being so filthy? You know better than that." He laughed at first because he genuinely thought she was joking, but she kept going and was rude and disrespectful. If there was concern about the suits, that could have been handled politely. There was absolutely no reason to embarrass him or speak to him that way. He was already there picking up a tailored suit and trying to shop for another one, and instead he was treated unfairly and made uncomfortable. Very disappointing customer service. No customer should be spoken to like that.

A friend suggested I take a look before I spent a fortune on an off the rack tuxedo and boy am I glad I did! What a pleasant and professional experience! I met with Mr. Balu, the owner of the shop, in his beautiful new Southwest Freeway shop (he has 2 shops, so I recommend calling ahead and asking that he meet you there). While they have a nice selection of ready to wear suits, their specialty is obviously custom work, as evidenced by the dozens of fabric books available for consideration. I described the tuxedo I was thinking about to Mr. Balu and he immediately understood what I wanted and within minutes found a variety of fabric options which met my requirements. Mr. Balu took numerous measurements, reviewed all of my styling options (collar style, taper, sleeve and pant leg length preferences, etc.) and let me know that my new tux would be ready for a fitting in 4-5 weeks. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised when he called me about 3 weeks later to let me know that my tuxedo was ready for a fitting! At the fitting, Mr. Balu conscientiously examined the fit, confirmed a few measurements, and advised that he needed to take in the waist a bit and adjust the pants length. Otherwise, the tuxedo fit like a glove and was beautiful! Within only a few days, I received a message letting me know he was finished. I tried on the tuxedo once more and it was truly perfect! Now for the amazing news: My new custom tuxedo cost me less than an off the rack version at Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus and not only fit me better but appears to me to be of a higher quality craftsmanship and better material! I will definitely be back for my next suit!

He made me look, the way I wanted to feel. You must simply trust the process and allow him to pick out whatever you need as he selects one piece at a time, as if a creating a recipe with a pick of this and pick of that. Good news: The only reason I don't give 1 star is because I did finally receive my shirts and I…read morelook amazing in them. Also, Guillermo was nothing but respectful and courteous the few times I had an appointment with him. Bad news: It took him over 4 MONTHS to make 5 shirts, and they weren't even bespoke (hand-sewn), just custom-made (machine-sewn), which means they could've been done a LOT sooner. I'm new to the tailoring purchase, so I paid upfront like he asked, and I told him to take his time, even if it takes the whole 2 months before the holidays, and relied on Guillermo to make a decision on what to make from the 8 different shirt examples I showed him. I then waited a month for him to at least send me a decision on the shirts he would make, if not also arrange my first fitting. Neither came until I bugged him about it. I missed opportunities to get a headshot done in my new clothes, a professional meeting, and a holiday event. I told him a couple of times that I can deal with not being ready for me if he tells me ahead of time, but it makes the whole experience unpleasant when I show up and stuff isn't ready. He said he'd do better, but of the 3 fittings I had, only one resulted in my taking the agreed-upon clothes home. He made me wait 4 weeks just for a couple of zippers (his idea) to arrive from NYC! In the end, they were never used because he thought it "didn't look right", so I waited an additional month for nothing, for sure. Every time I was told that they weren't ready, or he cancelled an appointment as I was driving there, he had his mom being hospitalized as an excuse. This was AFTER the first month of waiting and fitting. After 3 months and I finally started asking for a refund for the remaining 2 shirts, he managed to crank them out over the next 2 weeks. Then he made one with material I didn't pick! I was so excited when I first got my measurements, but by the time I picked up the last corrected shirt, I couldn't wait to be out of there and couldn't even enjoy my purchase for a few days. I learned a lot about tailoring requirements, time frames and terminology from this. Now I know what to expect and demand upfront with the next tailor, as I won't be going back to Guillos Tailor.

Went there for alterations, upon entering the place I thought: "there is no way I could afford…read morethis!". A true tailor shop!! Mr. Pérez came out from the back and first impression: calm, kind eyes and jovial. The way he handles screams professional but he keeps the atmosphere super light. Long story short I was out of the shop in less than 15 minutes with only one regret: I never took the Before picture so I could showcase what he did and spare you this dissertation. Oh I didn't lose my shirt but have a gut feeling this is not my last visit there. Thanks Guillos!

They have a sense of humor and take interest in their customers. Their men's and women's wear and accessories are top notch quality and style, and many of them are imports. My tailoring experience was exceptional. I had a ready to wear formal T-length dress that had a side zipper, and I needed the body to be shortened and then contoured to my shape. It was quite the item to alter, because there were other details on the bodice that made it more challenging. To me it was complicated, but the experienced tailor assured me that he could do it. The dress was so perfectly finished. I got many wonderful compliments how beautiful it was. I have had clothes tailored before, but none done quite like at Taghi. The price was a little high, but it was worth it. I would definitely recommend Taghi.
