I went to laurel location first and had some issues, but was sent to this location in Jessup and dealt with Tammy and she was amazing. They fixed all the issues without a complaint and was super nice and did it all quickly as well. I was worried when my car was brought in with some minor body damage because it's a classic car and parts are hard to find; and the color is even harder to match! But Gerber was able to order the needed parts from overseas and the paint was a perfect match! And even though I brought the car in a MESS they detailed it to the best of their abilities and it was cleaner than I expected considering how I dropped it off. The rental was seamless as well. Top notch all the way - great service, great communication, great quality of work. I came in for an insurance repair after an accident. They took the info and said it would probably take a week to fix. They were polite at every step of the way, and kept in close touch during the whole process. I got either a phone call or an email when they finished the damage estimate, received the parts, started the repairs, and finished the repairs - a day early. I wasn't able to come in the day they were done, and they said no problem and were very accommodating. After I got my car home, I noticed a front-end shimmy and took it back. They checked all the tires and demonstrated that it was a problem on the side opposite their repairs. Turns out all I needed was an $8 tire balance on the left side, which my mechanic did that same day. I recommend these guys without reservation. They are a busy shop that still finds time to treat customers with respect. read more

They did a great job on the repair and you couldn't even tell my car was in an accident. Minus one star because my GPS holder went missing. I removed all of my valuables from my car, but I never would have guessed someone would steal a suction cup GPS holder from a car. A new one was $20, which they paid me back for, but just wanted to warn people to remove EVERYTHING from your car before it gets to Gerber. read more

Excellent customer service and work. My car was recently given a good scratch by someone in the parking lot where I work and it went under the paint so it was something that couldn't be left. Gerber was one of the most recommended repair places by USAA so after getting the insurance companies to do their thing we took it in. The car was dropped off on a Wednesday and was done by Friday afternoon and is as good as new. The staff is friendly and helpful. There's also an Enterprise rental office joined to the building which makes getting a car super easy. read more

I've used Gerber collision before for auto repairs and that experience was amazing but this time has been a nightmare. They do a really good job of updating you on the status of your car but this time they some how drained my battery so low that It won't charge! They called me and told me that the alternator that I put in the car 18 months ago wasn't charging the battery, but when I got there I immediately noticed what the problem was. I talked to Will one of the managers and he just told me that there was nothing they could do! I will never take my car back here and I advise you guys to chose another body shop for your car repairs. Find one with integrity! read more

Very disappointed that I decided to bring my vehicle to this shop. Previously, I used the Geber in Ellicott City, MD and the customer service was grate. Unfortunately, the Laurel location does not meet that standard, in fact they are very far from it. Overall, they're horrible and I will never do business here again. Firstly, I was told I would receive updates on the status of my vehicle twice a week. During the 4-week period that my car was here, I received three, maybe four phone calls in total. Every time I wanted to know about the progress of my vehicle, I called. On several occasions I had to call multiple times because they didn't answer. Not only that, the date of which my car was supposed to be ready got pushed back five (yes, FIVE) times. I was supposed to have my car back in two weeks. It took four weeks. Every day I called, they said they have it ready the next day...then the next. Finally week 4, it was done, and I went to pick up my vehicle. The worked seemed to be fine and the issue corrected. However, just as soon as I didn't think it could get any worse, I noticed damage that had been done to my car while in their custody. They tried to do a cheap repair to it, but I could see the residue of the glue that was used, and the part wasn't glued down all the way. They didn't tell me about it, I just happened to notice it. I pointed it out to them, they took responsibility and fixed the issue which left my car in the shop for longer!! However, I know if I took my car off of their parking lot and noticed it later on that day, they would not have taken responsibility. I truly believe they were hoping I didn't see it before I left. Overall, terrible experience. Lack of communication, honesty, timeliness, and integrity with the company. To sum if up there was little to no professionalism. If you must use Gerber because your insurance is sending you here, go to Ellicott City location and save yourself the headache. I will never use this location again! read more

The theft problem at this location has been mentioned before at yelp. My low score is a combination of petty theft and poor customer service. I've worked with the company at this location before and it wasn't the best then either. The only positive is that the repairs seem solid. The customer service initially seemed good, but when we got the car back it was filthy. Dust was in the cup holders, glove box, and in the air vents! There were also dirty towels in the back seat and all the quarters from the cup holder were missing. Now, I expect change to be missing when coming to places like this, but every single quarter of five dollars worth were gone. When I notified the location of my issues, I was told they would "look into it" even though I sent them photos of the towels. Nine days went by without any communication and so I called corporate. Less than five minutes after that I call, I received a call from the Laurel location with the man claiming this issue just "came across his desk." He told me nothing could be done about the money because it was counted before they started work on the vehicle and that their location couldn't be held responsible for their employees. He offered for me to bring car back to have it cleaned, but I had already cleaned it. No way was I going to sit in a car full of dirt for over a week. I also don't trust the company now because they stole from me. But, what I'm most mad about isn't the money. It's the delay for anyone at that company to call me back, to address the issue, to talk to me, to offer something to be done. I spent $250 (my deductible) to get the car fixed at their location. Money I didn't have. They did the work well, left my car filthy, stole money, and wouldn't get back to me until I called corporate. So yeah, I don't recommend the company. I won't be recommending it to friends or family. I won't be going back and I called Geico to let them know of the theft and the poor service since they recommended the location. read more

Bad experience. Unprofessional. A 3 day repair turned into a week and a half ordeal, constantly being strung along being told the next day it would be done, when they would even call me. Usually I had to call them right before I was going to pick my car up to be told it wasn't finished yet. Then when I went to get it I found my car had 3 warning lights on and had to leave it with them another day, costing me yet more time and causing more stress. My insurance company recommended I try Gerber Collision & Glass after a hit and run accident to my car. I was more than impressed. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They were accommodating with scheduling and the repairs were quick and to my satisfaction. They estimated a week for my repairs, yet only took 3 days. I was not going to make their closing time and they were nice enough to have someone wait for me so that I could pick up my car that day. If I ever find myself in a pickle again with my car. Gerber was recommended by a friend who has a repair shop nearby. From the day I walked in to get an estimate to the day I picked up my car Gerbers customer service has been outstanding. So good in fact, that my experience with them was worth the nuisance of having had my car damaged. The damage was minor, just a little crumpling over a rear wheel, Ivy did the estimate and explained everything they would do to make it right. Once I dropped my car off they emailed me to let me know they'd taken the car in and sent progress reports until they called to tell me the car was ready, before their estimated date. WOW read more

I am very appreciative that we were able to come to an understanding. I can't give them 5 stars because the situation didn't go off without a hitch but I will say I don't believe there was ever any malicious intent, just a learning experience for both parties. I chose this shop because I had been here before and had a great experience. The fact that Gary contacted me and wanted to make the situation right and fair means they value their customers and their experiences. Which is hard to find. This is an email I just sent to my Gerber rep: Hi ****, I called Gerber 30 minutes ago to check on the status of my car only to find out that they (1) did not have the part ordered to work on my car today, (2) they need to send me an estimate of repairs before they can work on my car and (3) they are unaware of any damage other than the cracked mirror. I informed the tech that Gerber already gave me an estimate several weeks ago and my insurance company has given me an estimate as well. I told the tech that I've been working with you for approximately 6 weeks to provide all documentation requested and that you informed me that I can move forward with completing the repairs. I am not willing to get a third estimate at this point. Further, Gerber's own estimate already included damage to the mirror and repair of the scratches on the front panel. I put tape next to those scratches to ensure that they would be included in the estimate. I also referenced them to you again in my email earlier today. Lastly, I had to go through great lengths to adjust my schedule to drop my car off this evening. To say that I am frustrated and highly disappointed at this point is an understatement. The tech was great. He tried to fix the situation but I am just not willing to start all over at square one. I appreciate the assistance you have provided as well but somewhere along the way communication was lost or the ball was dropped. I made this appointment early last week. For the part to just be ordered today makes no sense. For me to have to get another estimate when Gerber and State Farm already provided estimates makes no sense. For me to drop my car off this morning when the part was not available makes no sense. And finally, for no one to tell me that they wouldn't be able to fix my car today makes no sense. I got rear ended a few weeks before I needed to turn in my lease and decided to deal with it outside of insurance. It was mostly just a few scratches on my bumper, one very deep one. During my consultation, their first solution to my problem was $400-500 to take off the bumper and fix everything up. No, didn't want that. I only wanted to buff it out and make it look as nice as possible. The next suggestion was to go take it to his buddy's shop fro full detailing to fix up every imperfection on the car. Once again, no, just wanted the buff. Once that was established, I brought my car back the next week and within an hour, they had made it look much better. The only noticeable remaining scratch was the big one I mentioned before, which they couldn't do much about but did paint it a bit with some extra silver paint they had. And that ended up being about $50. So, they did some good work, despite some annoying attempts at up-selling me. read more

I have Geico insurance. I took my Mercedes to Gerber on Washington Blvd in Laurel, MD for an estimate for body repair work, Friday, 5/17/13. We arrived in the lobby of Gerber at approx 5:10 pm. A guy named Gary told us "we close at 5 o'clock you didn't know that? And you need an appointment for an estimate". I looked at the clock on the wall in the lobby 5:11pm. I told him I did not know that an appointment was needed for an estimate. He said "oh yes" you need an appointment. He said I can look at the car and tell you about how much it will cost." I told him that I did not come for a verbal estimate, I came for a written estimate. I did not like his attitude and he didn't seem interested in our business. I have used Gerber in the past and also frequently rent cars from Enterprise car rental which is in the same building. I was not treated like this when I used Gerber the first time. He went on to tell us when we were getting in the car that the parking lot is tricky and very small be careful! He talked down to us and I will never go back there again and will post this review so that others will know. I will inform Geico of this too. I did not receive a verbal or written estimate from Gary. The hours are 8-5:30p I found out later after leaving the shop. I did not know what the hours were when I was there. There were other customers being served when we arrived. Not courteous. It was this guy Gary and the treatment I received that prompted me to post this review. Was referred by my insurance company for some scratches on the bumper of my car caused by a fender bender. My insurance company made the initial contact and a few hours later I received a call from Gerber Collision & Glass to schedule an appointment for consultation and was told I had to wait 10 days for an appointment. I scheduled the appointment and showed up 10 days later only to be told they did not have me on schedule neither did they have any of my information in their system. I watched as a young lady searched for my name in a 3-ring binder and could clearly spot my name looking over her desk. She then told me the number I had saved in my cell phone that called me for the initial consultation was not associated with their business. Standing in front of her, I called the number from my cell phone and the telephone on her desk began to ring. She then told me she found my information but they don't take reservations for estimates therefore I would have to come back another day. I was very confused why I would have to come back if no reservation is needed and why I was given a spot 10 days out to begin with. Needless to say, I left did not return to that location and do not recommend anyone wasting time with such horrible customer service. read more

I just took my 2016 Ram 1500 in to have them repair another shop's botched work. They were co-located with my insurance provider so it worked out very well. I hit a piece of asphalt and it broke the windshield and dented the roof. The previous place messed up that paint and didn't replace the windshield correctly. Eric and Gary took care of my truck like it was their own and I am very satisfied with the repair work. I had made an agreement with the insurance provider to only replace the windshield and simply wait until the paint cracked to have it replaced down the road and after removing the windshield, they noticed the previous place repainted the roof after replacing the windshield. This would have caused a small gap since the proper placement of the windshield would have left the 1/4" strip potentially exposed with shoddy paint. They took care of it and I couldn't tell anything was even taken down from the interior. They went the extra mile, even though they didn't have to and I really appreciate the attention to detail. read more
