This place seems nice when you are purchasing your appliances. But you should opt for the delivery and install it yourself. My wife and I purchased our house in May 2018, and a new washer dryer shortly after. The installers arrived after their expected delivery window, which isn't a big deal. After they installed both units in our basement they were unable to hook power up to the dryer as the 50amp socket wasn't in the right position for them. Another excusable reason as they aren't electricians. However, I asked the one installer just after he told me about the electrical plug "how does the lint hose look?" I expressed my concerns about our new house and not knowing. He replied "looks good." I thought nothing of it until the following day when I made the adjustment to the plug and figured to look down the lint hose. That thing was stuffed and caked on. I pulled the entire hose outside and rinsed it with a hose. Everything seemed fine after that until about mid January when our washer was making a noise during the agitation cycle We call Gerhards, Doylestown, to have service come out. Their service department is terrible. They scheduling system is idiotic and not convenient for the consumer. You say a weekday you're free and they put you into their system. You find out the night before when you 3 hours service window is. But it's already too late cause you had to take off work for the entire day to accommodate their inability to plan ahead. We went with another service company after a half hour of no progress with scheduling. My wife also noticed recently that hot and cold wash cycles seemed reversed when doing laundry. And yes the bozos hooked the cold line to the hot inlet and vise-versa. The units are right next to our hot water heater! The lazy installers couldn't have followed 7 feet or visible copper pipe to the water junction since it wasn't labeled at all from the previous home owner. Me, understanding how to resolve this issue with "lefty loosy" and "righty tighty," swopped the line to the correct inlets. Long story long, this experience has been revealing many different reminders as to why we shouldn't have went with Gerhards and we will post this same review on many different sites, for others to view just how incompetent the installers are for two very basic washer and dryer units. read more

After a few trips to to all the large home improvement stores to look for a refrigerator freezer, I was was so disappointed , not only with the lack of service but the lack of knowledge of the products that I was looking at. When I finally settled on something that I could live with , I was told" oh I can't sell you this because we don't have anymore". So why not tell me before hand? Then the other problem was we can't deliver it until Sept. I needed it like yesterday , been without it for almost 2 wks. I found Gerhard online and inquired, they could help me , visited the Malvern store on Saturday ,got greeted immediately by Pete. He answered all our questions showed me a model of the one I wanted but explained it would not have the ice water and ice maker outside on the door, That was fine. I made my decision and we were led to the desk where a young lady took care of the order and gave us the delivery day ( which is today) wrote up the order and I was on my way in 20 minutes from the time I walked in. No muss, no fuss just good service. Also what a beautiful showroom! I am hoping the delivery and install will go just as smooth, I will tell you how that went as soon as it is in place and set up. Needed a new dishwasher and was recommended to Gerhard's by a repairman who said it would be too expensive to repair our 7-year-old one. Visited the Malvern store on 12/28/21. Store was very clean and well laid out with many varieties of appliances. As soon as my husband and I walked in, we were greeted by a very pleasant associate who asked what we were looking for and directed us to the dishwashers. We were told that a salesperson would be with us shortly. Within 5 minutes Bill Slade came to help us. He was courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable. Asked what features I was looking for, as well as our price range and the types of warranties we were interested in. Really listened to what my husband and I had to say and explained in easy-to-understand detail the features of the dishwashers that might be best for us. Didn't try to sell us something elaborate for our needs or over our price range. He found just what I was looking for at a reasonable price. Explained the costs of extended warranty plans and delivery and installation which were also reasonable. Dishwasher is on order for 1/3/22 delivery. When I look around my kitchen and laundry area, pretty much all I see are major appliances from Gerhard's: Whirlpool double wall oven, Wolf cooktop, Asko washer, GE dryer. At every step of the process, from the advice I received from Gerry Gerhard in selecting the particular brand and model, to the careful installation by their crew, to the timely service responses over the years, this company has demonstrated a sustained commitment to my satisfaction that is as gratifying as it is rare in this era of big box and/or online retailers. Two weeks before my due date, our old dryer broke. Panicked about getting a new working laundry set before the baby arrived, I went to Gerhards to get prices. I was helped by Adam, who made sure that we would have working laundry before the baby came and gave me his honest feedback of different brand options based on his family's experience and that of his other customers. I appreciated that he didn't try to talk me into a more expensive set, but rather helped me pick out the models that would best fit our space and needs. We decided on an LG set, and about a week after it came we had an issue with the computer on the dryer. I called Gerhards and their service line immediately assured me they would correct the problem right away. I don't remember the name of the service employee who came out to the house, but he was also fantastic and even took the time to teach my husband how the computer on the dryer works. The problem was fixed, and now after three months of washing baby clothes daily the set still works fantastic. We definitely will be returning to this location when we need appliances in the future. read more

I have purchased a washer and dryer this year. The products seem to live up to standard. The problem began when the driver, a non-Gerhard's employee, attempted an installation that was beyond him. He left with an an uninstalled washer and advice that I get a longer hose. Two service calls and 6 months layer, I asked that the service be done after two in the p.m. I got a text today saying tomorrow's service will be between 10 and 2. I had specifically told the (very pleasant) rep at the counter that it MUST be after 2. I called the service # in Philadelphia and sat on hold for 19:57, and I was assured that I was #1 in the queue. A message came on at 19:58 telling me to press 4 if I wanted service. When I did I was told that I was # 4 in the queue. This happened to me twice before, where I sat on hold for 47 minutes. They have (apparently) 1 incompetent customer service rep who screwed things up 10 minutes into my "hold" by telling me "Gerhard's, please hold," thus putting me at the end of the line. The worst service experiences (3 now, as my installation still doesn't do the job) I can remember experiencing. read more

I have had over ten years experience as a customer of Gerhard's. My first kitchen appliance buying experience with them was so great that I recently returned for a new cooktop. I brought along my 79 year old mother who badly needed a dishwasher. Jerry, the owner and Ashley treated her like gold! Jerry spent time listening to my Mom's stories and random current events and sporting stats! He also was very generous in helping her with the pricing of the dishwasher because of her age and limited budget. We secretly divided the transaction, me paying for almost half so she would be comfortable with not blowing her budget. At the same time, he found an awesome KitchenAid cooktop for me at a great price! It's not just about the appliances or price, it was the customer service that locked in our decision to buy appliances from Gerhard's! The shopping experience was so much fun! I purchased a fridge and range on 11/26/21 from Gerhard's. Really didn't know what I wanted but I did have measurements for where I wanted them installed. Mr. Kromer showed me appliances that were nice but not for me. He then went on Gerhard's website and we both found just what I wanted. Closed the deal and his assistant (Blondie) did all the paperwork and promised me delivery by 12/7/21. Yesterday I received a call saying that my appliances would be delivered between 2 PM and 6 PM. Delivery guys were at my door at 11:30 AM and the install was over in half an hour. Considering what's been going on with ships waiting to be unloaded at docks I think I did pretty good. My son purchased a boat load of appliances from Gerhard's at the beginning of 2021 for his new house and he also had no problems. So if you read a bad review about Gerhard's or anyone else consider this (because I've seen it before) maybe they think they're special and they were raised thinking they could have anything they want, the way they want it. My family bought an appliance here a few weeks ago and almost everything about the experience was negative. To begin with the positives, the first gentleman who helped my family was very nice and the delivery people and repair man were also very nice and professional. What was terrible about this place is that when our appliance was delivered it had a dent on it. The managers here refused to take back the unit without charging a restocking fee! When we finally ordered a new unit while fighting the restocking fee issue the new product was said to deliver on Wednesday which came and went with no delivery. Then it would be Friday... Nothing. We finally got it the next week but only after many phone calls. The owners of this place are all about making a buck and no longer are focused on the customer. Such a shame too because some of the employees are very nice but powerless to fix any problem. Please take your money elsewhere and save yourself the frustration. read more

we bought all new appliances 5 years ago from this store, Gerhard's in Malvern, and were completely blown away by the service. I know delivery and service i worked for Sears for 33 years and they would still be in business if they could make deliveries like these guys. We called in today to by an upright freezer over the phone and Linda Gerhard was terrific in her service and giving us all the info we needed to purchase a freezer, which is one of the hottest items in the appliance business due to the covid19 hysteria of people stocking up. Well my wife told me we needed one so i told here go ahead with Gerhard's they had the quickest back in stock time's and hopefully they still do a great job on delivery. It sure went well today, and i have my email receipts and will await Linda's call, when our new freezer is ready. We even got the sale price and a delivery rebate. As all the other reviews highlight, Gerhard's is the worst. My family has also been long-time customers of them, but no more. We ordered our current washer and dryer from them, both damaged upon installation. They were replaced, and damaged upon installation, again! We gave up and said we would live with it. Then we purchased a new refrigerator from them. It too was damaged upon installation as well as our newly installed entry and storm door. After failed attempts at email communication, I went back to the store in person and spoke with Gerry Gerhard himself. He ensured that the damaged refrigerator would be replaced and in lieu of replacing our damaged entry and storm door, we would receive the fridge free of charge. They have NOT kept their offer, have billed us for the appliance, performed no part replacement or conducted any repairs, and now I am forced to fight with legal action. Purchased an LG clothes washer from Gerhards. Washer had a serious electronic board problem. Options wouldn't work. Called LG, they tried to work it out by phone but agreed board was defective. Told us to contact Gerhards. Gerhards had a tech come over who confirmed the problem, then ordered parts. We felt it was a new washer, should work right without replacement parts, requested a replacement washer. Contacted Gerhards. They couldn't replace it without authorization. They went to bat for us with LG. They finally received authorization from LG. Delivered a brand new machine to us today which works properly. Gerhards had to make two deliveries and hassle with LG to replace our defective washer. Can't say enough good for Geerhards. We not only got the best price available anywhere but got a super ombudsmen for our problem. read more

I recently purchased a new townhouse, and I needed to buy a new washer and dryer. Gerhard's was recommended, so I did a little research on Consumer Reports for a solid pair, and found two options. I called Gerhard's and spoke to Austin Groeber, who created a quote for both options and saved it in the Gerhard's system. He also recommended a dryer vent cleaning service, Dryer Vent Wizard, who came out to clean the vent last week. Yesterday I went to the store to finish the order and worked with Dante Price. Dante shared additional information based on his personal experience and what other customers had previously purchased. I ended up buying a GE washer and dryer pair based on his recommendation. Dante helped schedule delivery. Overall, it was an easy process with lots of help from Gerhard's skilled salespeople. read more

This is why you buy from a local store and not a big box chain. I purchased all new GE kitchen appliances a few weeks ago and they were installed yesterday. The next day we notice that lights aren't working in the fridge and freezer, and the water and ice do not work. I contact GE and after several calls they say something is wrong and they can send a technician out in 8 days. I call Gerhard's and speak to Angela. I explain what happened and how I was frustrated and concerned. She listened to my GE conversation and I mentioned after a factory reset, the message "SA66" popped up. She figured out my fridge was in Sabbath mode and the message was "SAbb"! HUGE thanks to Angela at Gerhard's for providing amazing customer service and a good laugh! We went in to the Malvern store on the last day of the Black Friday sale. Knowing exactly what we wanted, Frank took care of us by double checking the items we were interested in and giving us the spec sheets so that we could make our adjustments at home. He also set us up with all the rebate papers we needed. It was a very easy process. Two of our three items were delivered and installed by a great team. We had some issues with our water line but they had everything that was needed and were able to replace it on the spot. Everything was up and running for us before they left. They took great care with our items and we are very happy with all the services we have received so far. We have one more item arriving this week and fingers crossed it goes as smoothly. read more

I worked with Bill at Gerhard's for new kitchen appliances. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. He recommended an appliance installer. I reached out to the installer and he gave me pointers to prep for delivery and will be back in a week to install the appliances. Floyd & Sabree just delivered the appliances and they were incredible. It's like 95 degrees outside and humid, we were their 8th and final stop of the day at 5:30pm and they were genuinely nice and did an amazing job bringing everything in (if I were in their shoes, I think I'd be a bit grumpy at this point in the day). My husband and I were in awe - they made it look easy as they moved a 500 lb range. We couldn't be happier with ordering and delivery....looking forward to installation soon! read more

After a terrible experience with Lowe's and a no-show dishwasher, I called Gerhard's in Malvern. The customer service was exceptional - not only did I have a new dishwasher within 4 hours of calling, but they went out of their way to grab it from the warehouse and bring it to the store so I could pick it up that day. With all visits appointment only during COVID, they had not openings, but happily helped me handle everything over the phone since I knew exactly what I wanted. We were also able to drop our old dishwasher off at no charge to be recycled. The price was lower than Lowe's AND they were quick to share a rebate. While everyone's experience is different, unlike these reviews, I had a wonderful experience working with Gerhard's. I went to the Malvern store when my dishwasher broke and decided it was finally time to upgrade. I really didn't know what I wanted coming in, but Sally helped explain all the options and we figured out what would work best for me. She really knew what she was talking about and was able to give me quotes for many different options and walked me through every detail. I finally decided, and the delivery was fast, they arrived during the time frame they said they would, set everything up, and made sure it worked. I always used places like (Best Buy, Home Depot and Lowes) to buy appliances. Never had a good experience with installation services. Decided to give Gerhard's a try in Malvern, PA. The ordering process - (After I did my research on their website). I realized the choice of models and brands was almost 10X more at Gerhart's. I called the rep took the order on the phone for a KitchenAid microwave with installation. Everything was installed in three days, exactly on time. They didn't charge for removing and taking the old (OTR) Microwave. I gave them a nice tip, the installer said "May God Bless you Sir". Yes, I was delighted. The entire installation and removal took less than 18 minutes. read more
