Purchased free standing high-end grill. Also purchased high-end kitchen appliances. D&K is great at selling high-end products that they know NOTHING about. Seriously nothing. When I called them about the fact that a free-standing grill I ordered needed an outdoor outlet (still cant believe it), the owner - Chris - told me it was my job as the customer to know. So, now another $2,000 - and 2-4 weeks - to an electrician install an outlet in my backyard for a freestanding propane grill. I NEVER would have purchased the grill. Chris was disrespectful. The water lever broke on my fridge. It still worked but the spring was broken. I called to arrange for service. The woman wanted the model number, etc. There would be a $159 service fee. The service man came, looked at the model number, says part not available. I said why didn't the lady who asked for the model number just tell me that or talk to you about it before coming. Him: Sorry. Do you want to pay by check or credit card? So it cost me $159 to have nothing done. He was here less than 5 minutes and the store is only 2-3 miles away. read more

Do not use D&K for any service calls. Terrible Customer Service!! I did for my clothes washer (my drain hose had a leak). Here's what they did when I called for service. First service call is for a diagnosis visit to your location for the problem/issue. The tech needs to order a part (hose) not on the truck! Charge $159.00 paid on the spot with a check or card with 3% upcharge. Second, then you wait. I had to call them 7 DAYS later to see if the hose was in stock, amazingly it was. Third, it gets better, now I wait another 5 DAYS for an appointment to for installation! Cost $120.00 for part (hose) and labor. Bottom line: $279.00 for a drain hose to be installed which took 12 days to complete. I guess they do not use Amazon for parts (my opinion). We have purchased appliances from D&K in the past their pricing was competitive. D&K's Service Department provides has no customer service. Just read some of the other reviews posted. This place was awesome and beautiful inside! They have magnificent appliances that are so modern and up to date. I walked around for at least 20 minutes and was only approached once by a gentleman who stopped me when I first went in! There were 4 customer service reps. Additionally, I walked up to the second floor, and I saw a woman sitting in the back office, who never stopped smiling at me and my Husband! She was standing there staring at the computer or camera while we walked through the store! No one asked me if I wanted to look at anything, no one told me about their holiday sales, and no one offered me any financing or advice on how to proceed with my purchase. Phil and Justin were so professional. They were respectful, clean cut, classy guys with a great sense of humor. Noticeably it appeared that they respected each other and enjoyed working as a team. We purchased a washer from D&K that worked for 1 load of laundry then failed. This was clearly a defective machine. The manufacturer refused to replace it and insisted that it needed to be repaired. We worked with D&K to deal with the manufacturer and unfortunately they were unmoved. D&K after a week or so of back and forth replaced the washer for us and handled the manufacturer outs of us. As much of a pain as this process was for a week, D&K came through for a first time customer and I'd be happy to buy all my appliances here. Thank you to the D&K team! read more

After having such a fantastic experience from my October experience, I've recommended all my family to this place. My grandparents fridge died Christmas Eve when they're were hosting Christmas Day (Twas a nightmare!) they were able to get a 2 day delivery and my grandfather said that's the best customer experience he's had in decades (which he's hard to win over). I went last week to buy an over-the-range microwave for my rental property. I was a bit overwhelmed when I walked in because they have such a wide selection of microwaves and other appliances. Fortunately, the associate guided me to the model that best suited my needs. The salesmanship was great; the associate didn't try to sell me a higher-end model or something I didn't need. He was honest and to the point. I also had them deliver and install the new microwave, and take away the old one. The total cost for purchase and installation was more than reasonable. We bought a dishwasher during the pandemic. It a great dishwasher. They didn't tell us to find out our current dishwasher was connected. When they came to install we ended up having to call a plumber to add an adapter. My GE refrigerator was not working properly. The freezer was fine, but the refrigerator could not hold temperature. At first I called GE Appliance Repair. They told me they could send out a tech in a week. A week without a working refrigerator?!? Really? Called D&K and they sent someone the next day. Shawn quickly diagnosed the problem, replaced the defective part, and the unit is working just fine. Am pleased with the response and his level of care in cleaning the refrigerator parts before reinstalling them. Would highly recommend. read more

Extremely disappointed with our experience with D&K so far. We purchased a Speed Queen washer and dryer in August, 2020 for our new home. The sales experience was fine and I have no complaints there, but the service side of things has been a completely different story. First of all, the woman who answers the service calls is extremely unpleasant. I believe her name is Rebecca, unless there is more than one woman that sounds the same. She is not friendly or welcoming or understanding of any situation we have brought to her. She does not seem like she wants to help at all and is, instead, very curt and rude - to the point where I have had to explain to her multiple times that I'm not being rude so there is no reason for her to speak to me the way she is speaking to me. When the techs came to install our washer, they didn't hook up the drain hose properly. With our first wash, the hose dislodged and flooded out our laundry room and into the next room (the only room in the entire house that has carpet). It ruined many board games and puzzles that we had stored in there. We were told we could send them pictures of the damage but there wasn't much they could do. We have had 3 other service issues since then. Each time it has been unpleasant scheduling with D&K, although I will say the service techs that have come out are very nice, friendly and knowledgeable. They have given us some great tips so I have no complaints there and honestly, they are the only reason we did not give a 1 star review. My most recent service call was today, 4/12. The washer keeps tripping the breaker and is unusable and I was told the earliest they could come out was 5/3. I have 3 kids under 5, including a 4 month old, so I have no idea how we are going to manage 3 weeks with no washer. When I asked about returning the washer since we have had nothing but issues with it, I was told that there's pretty much nothing they can do because they aren't the manufacturer. We just need to keep putting in service calls. When we were sold the set, the sales rep stressed this brand because it was supposed to be easy and quick getting it serviced if need be. I believe he even said to me that the other brand we were considering could take 7-10 days to get someone sent out, yet here we are with a 3 week time frame. I'm very hopeful something opens up sooner and they call us. We really wanted to give our business to a local place instead of the big box stores but it has been a really frustrating and unfortunate experience. read more

I had D&K come out to service my dacor gas range because of an F-1 fault code. I chose them because of the Yelp reviews and proximity to my home. The reason for the 2 star and not 1 is because they did show up on time. When the service tech arrived I explained the issue to him. He responded saying that the part I needed for this error is no longer made. He then tried to explain how a company in Canada makes a part similar to what I need but it may not work. Said the total cost to try and rebuild would be about $1200 and would be dependent on this mystery Canadian Dacor piece. He then mentioned I was out of code since I do not have a vent above my gas range. From there he made a call back to the office and tried to, what seemed to me like an up-sell, sell me on a kitchen aid gas range that has a down vent. At no point was the gas range touched or inspected. After the 15 minute visit, the service tech walked away with $150 and I was fuming. After the visit I called Haverford Township and asked if I was out of code for not having a vent above the range, and they confirmed I was not out of code. I wish things turned out better, and I had the same experience many other Yelpers had, but unfortunately I did not. I will not recommend or use moving forward due to poor service. read more

I have Purchased several appliances from D & K. I spent 8k for a Liebherr built in fridge. I am now on my fourth ice maker kit in 10 years. I contact D & K over 4 months ago. They came out a couple times and said they would get back to me. I have called every week for the last 4 weeks and have not even received a call back after numerous promises. In fact today voicing my frustration a customer service rep hung up on me. I would think twice about purchasing anything from this company for your property. Recently the 12-year-old stove I got with my house when I bought it had an electrical control failure, and I needed someone to look at it and tell me if it was an easy repair or costly, in which case, time for a new stove. After the first repair place I called never called back, I called D&K and got a very professional sounding lady who explained their repair costs and set an appointment time for me. Two young repairmen came out at the scheduled time, took a look and let me know the control board was failed so a repair would cost about half the price of a new stove, but if I chose to get a new stove I could get some costs of the repair call applied to the price of the new stove. I decided to drive down and pick out a new stove. I got there about an hour to closing on a weeknight but the showroom manager was really helpful and I had a stove picked out and paid for within a week. It ended up costing about the same as if I'd bought that model of stove at Home Depot, but I got free installation, free takeaway of the old stove, and I can call these guys for a repair if I need it. My stove was delivered and set up a day or two later by some cheerful installers and now I can cook again. Thank you D&K! Removed 1 star mostly because the first team of repair guys, in getting some piece of documentation off the back of my old stove that had apparently been gathering dust for years (I did not even know it was back there), scattered the bunch of dust all over the stove top and floor and did not clean it up or even act cognizant of the fact that they dropped it. I'm not a big neatnik but I would at least expect an "oh I'm sorry" when a guy scatters dust and debris all over my appliance top and it was pretty visible and made some noise when it fell on the metal stove, so the guy who dropped it had to have seen it. I was standing 10 feet away and I saw the big cloud of dust explode. read more

We bought a refrigerator from D&K as we wanted to work with a local business, especially as we had a large built in refrigerator to be removed from our home which was a challenge with an older house. They did a great job with the old fridge removal. The issue was with the replacement fridge-when they unwrapped it, it had a large dent in the side and a big scratch on the front. We were told that if we accepted the fridge they would replace the scratched door and that we would receive a credit towards the purchase price due to the dent. The scratched door was replaced but it took 2 months and several phone calls to receive the credit. I like the inventory they carry and am happy with the fridge we bought but was a bit disappointed with the lack of follow-up regarding the damage and the credit. read more

My washing machine was leaking Shawn the tech from D&K was good - turns out my washer had to be replaced as the cost to fix was not worth it. I called D& K within minutes to buy the new washer, the saleswoman who answered asked me no questions about what I was looking for or what floor the appliance was to be installed. I gave her my old model number and told her I wanted a comparable product that will fit in the space. The first quote she sent was for REFRIGERATORS, lol. The second quote had pricing for a first floor delivery (my machine is on the second floor) when I Iooked at the quotes, the washers recommended were not comparable in features to what I have. When I called back to discuss, I spoke with Adam (who is much more helpful than McKenzie) - I had more questions but when I called back I was told that Adam was with a customer and would call me back within 10 minutes - In the time I waited for Adam to call (which he never did), I called Gerhard's and was expertly guided through my purchase with them. So in my opinion D&K sales team and customer service is less than stellar while Gerhard's far exceeded my expectation. read more

I have done some research about buying appliances and I can honestly say I have been into practically every appliance store within a 15 mile radius of my home. I have procrastinated writing my reviews. Not because I've been stewing necessarily cause I've already written my review about Sears (don't buy there). But I've been so busy remodeling. It's exhausting. Today I'm reviewing D&K Appliances because the business card surfaced on my desktop as I was cleaning and I want to file it away. This is one I want to keep, so I need to get it off my desk and in my phone book. Dan McIntyre the sales manager helped me at the store. ASK FOR HIM... he was wonderful. Mind you I already knew exactly what I wanted to purchase when I entered the store. Dan gave me further information on the products, he also walked me through which rebates were available, downloaded the forms for me. Told me about the time constraints and when to send the rebates in so as not to miss out on them. He was generally a great guy to deal with. He listed all the purchase prices. Wrote everything down for me. I asked if they used an outside delivery service and he said no, the people who deliver are employees of the company. This is a big determining factor in my mind, as 3rd party delivery people do not take care of a product that does not belong to their company. I have seen this happen time and again. I came into D&K looking for a delivery the next day of a refrigerator. Jane was my sales person. So very kind and knowledgable. She guided me to the section and explained the features of the refrigerators that fit my custom space in my kitchen. Jane was not only able to help me pick out the perfect item she also made sure I was going to be able to get it the next day. Within an hour of finalizing the sale I received a call from the delivery Dept at D&K and was given a time that was best for my work day. The time was between 3-5 and the gentlemen came at 3:15. Took the old one, cleaned up the water spills, installed the new one and taught me how to use it. Wow am I impressed. D and K came to the house to fix the ice maker in my freezer. They assessed it ,said we needed a part and when it came in they would rerun to fix it. Two weeks later they returned put the part in and it never worked. By the way they arrived an hour past the time window of waiting three hours for their arrival. Never received a call to say they we're running late.They were scheduled to come today and they are now saying we are not on the schedule. This place has incompetent people from the receptionist to the repair people. I will not recommend or use d and k for any services. read more

We had a positive experience with the service department. I called about 2 weeks ago when our dryer broke (no heat) and Tina - who answered the phone explained a few things to me about dryers (no, we did not have a clogged vent or tubing) and then their policy. It costs 79 for the guy to come out and if there is a fixable problem they apply the 79 to the labor (99 minimum charge) and parts. It would up costing $169.60 to fix our broken heater (coil was busted) and he had one right on his truck. I wrote a check but could have also used a credit card. The only complaint? I was told 9 AM - 1 PM and they came at 12:45 PM (still technically on time, but I waited almost 4 hours). I wish they could have 2 hour windows - or more repair techs. Our guy (Rob??) was getting sick and working his a$$ off. Tina was a doll. I will call again if we ever need to - but I pray we won't need to often. read more
