12/01/2025, I took my vehicle, 2001 Mercedes Benz CLK 55 AMG, to German AutoHaus, concerning the right brake light malfunctioning. I spoke with Geoffrey Wood, the licensee. My wife signed an agreement for $175.00 for diagnosis of the problem. On Tuesday, 12/02/2025, she received a phone call saying that the car was ready to be picked up. She had received no call seeking to authorize any repairs, or estimate of said repairs. When we picked up the vehicle, I spoke with "John". The invoice was for $450.00 of labor. They DID correct the problem with the brake light. They also replaced all of the new light bulbs I had just installed. They claimed to have replaced the brake switch. No part is listed on the invoice, and the switch was working when the car was delivered to them. I asked for the old part, but was told the "trash had already been taken out". Reported to CA Bureau of Auto Repair. read more

Please save your money and AVOID THIS PLACE . Came in for oil change and to find an exhaust leak, i paid for them to do so . They switched the oil , removed a gasket from the exhaust and didn't replace it . This made my exhaust leak worse . They told me they couldn't find the leak in their "hour inspection time" even though they removed integral gaskets and didn't give me a quote or really want to work on the car. i basically paid 150 (not including oil price) for codes to be read and gave a shrug. the same thing autozone does for free. mechanics name was Aaron. read more

I took my 1977 VW Transporter (bus) into German Auto Haus to have it looked at due to running poorly. It's still fuel injected and the air cooled shops I had work on it just couldn't get it to run right. GAH fixed it without hesitation it's now a joy to drive. Coming down from Big Bear Lake on a 3 day road trip my rotor sensor lit up on my 2011 MB Sprinter 2500. I found German Auto Haus on Yelp, called and to my great relief, was told that it could probably be fixed same day. Jeff, the only apparent mechanic of the business, made quick work of the repair. He inspected the rotors with me, noting they had cracked, likely from over heating on the trip down the mountain. He ordered the rotors and pads I needed immediately. Within 4 hours I was back on the road. This is the second time I've had this repair and his price was very reasonable, not to mention FAST! Do not ever go here. These guys are a bunch of crooks. I took an 06 Mercedes at 8 am on a Monday last month to do a diagnostic for a check engine light, change the oil, and to fix an oil leak. I told them I wanted an estimate to do a diagnostic to see what it would cost for repairs to fix whatever was triggering the check engine light and the oil leak. They called me back about 1 hour later and told me it would be ~$750. I approved the work over the phone. They called me back 4 hours after and said the car was done. I was surprised they were so fast. I went back in at 3pm to pick up the car and pay. I was ignorant and paid first, that is on me. Then I asked if the work fixed the issue with the engine light and the oil leak. He tells me they definitely fixed the oil leak as they replaced a part that supposedly cost nearly $200; when they showed me what this was it looked like it cost no more than $20. They also said they cleaned up the oil inside that was a mess under the hood. But then I asked again about the check engine light issue. He said "I don't know if the light came off". He then went out to do the actual diagnostic (I thought he did that in the morning before doing anything) in front of me. The car had several codes going off. He did "clear" the codes, which shut off the engine light for about 10 minutes, but my intent was to fix the issue causing the check engine light to come on, not just to clear the codes. Clearly none of the issues were addressed and none were disclosed to me prior to me approving any work. Had I known there were this many codes, I would have only paid for the diagnostic and the oil change and nothing else. I knew I got bamboozled right there, and I figured at least he fixed the oil leak and charged me for a very expensive oil change. I decided to park the car in my driveway for the first time since the oil leak was "fixed" yesterday only to find a huge oil leak under the car this morning. The owner talks a big game and will talk your ear off, but he is a crook. Don't trust them and don't take your car there. I am reporting them to the board right after writing this review. read more

I gave German Auto Haus a Subaru Forester to take care of a cross threaded oil drain plug, that the Subaru dealership messed up. Today, while changing the oil myself this time, I find out that German Auto Haus didn't even replace the cross threaded drain plug screw, and they charged me $125. I replaced the drain plug for $6. read more

I didn't even come here but I wanted to say I work all week all morning until 4PM and I needed something replaced. I went to autozone and got my diagnostic codes and all that in order to not give so much hassle to the mechanics that see tons of people and their cars all day. I called at around 4:20 (online says they close at 5) and was very polite and said I just needed to ask a few questions and I got no answer at all I had to say hello for him to say "yeah I'm here". Though I let that go could've just been bad service I asked if he worked on Minis and two if I could bring in the part that needs replacement if he could just do the labor of replacing it. He cuts me off and very condescendingly says that he does his own diagnostics and doesn't trust anyone else's and doesn't let anyone bring in any parts and that's my "strike two". He was very rude and I called him out on it saying that I was only asking him if it were possible at the shop to do so not telling him he needed to and he came at me very hostile about it then tried to give a very half assed apology when all I was doing was ASKING. And then he tells me that if I want to call at 7 AM bc his computer is shut down already and he's trying to go home. It was 4:20 and they closed at 5 so why is he rushing me to get off the phone? That's not how you treat potential clients and I hope anyone who reads this is wary of this shop bc this is the last thing I needed today. If he wanted to go home he shouldn't have answered the phone at all especially if he was going to just be rude. read more

I have a 2004 bmw 325 xi, I bought it used. Before warning you up about that fake german car specialist and his way of having such disregard toward his clients inclucing me and after my first complain on the phone he has insulted of the word faggg and fu....g french go back in your country!! Beware because you ll get satisfied or you ll get as I have been screw well and trust me, that guy will not ever recognize that he is wrong as he got from me 600 dollars for having changed the top of my coolant system, which is totally unprofessional and expansive because he denied to change the radiator where effectively the leaking was. The day I dropped my car to him, he supposidely knew where the problem was, many people like brave poor mexican was bringing parts to him, and was rejected like slave if the parts was not cheap enough for him, I was there and got disgusted of his way dealing with these people who I guess have hard time to make a living. I waited 3 hours in a coffee place before to pick up back my car, he has never called me, I returned to the shop and he asked me to come back the saturday with a unhappy attitude of bieng willing to work and finishing up my car in his precious day off week end. I had to call several time the saturday to know what was going on, he couldn't found the cheap part he put on my car, but he finally did around noon when I picked up my car. He watched me with that disregard and other members of his family around his office watching me like if I was the buy guy, and told me I should be grateful to waste 600 dollars because usually he is not working saturday. I came back home and my coolant was on warning still, the tank was empty, I called him in emergency and I was like disturbing him in his day off, but I wanted to know what happen, he said it is normal. But from other mechanic diagnosis it says when you change and fil up the coolant, usually if you are a professional, you perform a test of pressure to be sure that the coolant have to be on the same level when filled up...kind of complicated to explain but it makes sense since a another mechanic has explained me the rules. When I called the guy from German Haus, he gave me a false exploination on the phone. A month later after having constantly filled up my coolant tank, I just spent 818 dollars for the same job in a another mechanic who told me, that finally the problem was not a leak in the cyclinder but it was the radiator, he told me also how I got ripped off and also that if the german haus guy was such a specialist on german car why he didn't change or check the radiator coolant system in the first place with the same amount of money I paid. I then called the con artist fake specialist, and he then asked me to shut my mouth a second, and I got angry, then he insulted me of bieng a fa...and f...k..g french go back in your country. Insulting people of bieng racist is not my way, I think twice before getting there or caring about. This con artist is maybe a conservative guy and perhaps it is his right to think that way, but insulting his clients like he did with me, has gave me the nausea, not the insult, the 600 dollars that con artist thief has stolen from me when I have already a financial issue. Being happy with your car is the principal, no matter what I love my BMW model, and I accept the consequence of the cost, and bizzarely when I left the honest mechanic who has replaced the radiator ext...and did the balance on my tire, I was happy of the outcome and for being less stressed out. The problems with these mechanics guys con artist it's they just want quick and easy job but for thinking that they have to earn a plastic surgeon fees, well guess what, they are not doctors. most of them like this one, are the greedy business people in this area. screw you first is their goal, and they love it when you are a stranger. Well i have a bmw 5 series F10 and these cars are really hard to work on. My car's water pump broke down on campus which is really close to this shop. I gave the dealership a call and they quoted me a total work of $3,400 and that was too much for a water pump then i saw the shop on google map and contacted the owner. I was suspicious at first because i saw a couple of bad reviews about this shop online but i thought its the closest and would probably save me a lot of time . So I gave Jeff the owner a call and told him what the dealership quoted me ( $3,400 ) And i was really stressed out because the dealership said that it needs lot of stuff replaced with the water pump and i was pretty sure the parts had nothing to do with the water pump. And not only did Jeff fix it here for less than 900 but the car was done in no time like he promised and all the parts he used were BMW OEM parts with the logo and everything including the 1 year manufacturer warranty and he assured me that nothing else needed to be replaced other than the pump,thermostat,drive belt.
