Heard good thing about them so gave them a try to get my passenger side mirror fixed. First, they are fairly busy - which should be a good sign - so make sure you plan in advance. Second, they don't accept credit cards. I found them professional and it was clear they have plenty of experience in fixing these cars. They don't have a big waiting area - so get a ride and don plan to wait. I usually go to my dealer who offers me discount plus loaner car. I did not find their prices much different from my dealer quotes (when you factor in discount and loaner car). Have been going to them for more than a couple years now for my BMW. Recent experience 1. Took the car in for oil service and did not catch the brakes are due for repair soon. 2. Fixed an indicator malfunction that was a fairly quick fix but cost quite a bit in just labor and then the issue came back on couple days later. Walked in to get the second issue fixed and the response always has been, get an appointment and come at a later date, drop off your car, really - to fix an indicator which takes 20-30 mins, I need an appointment and visit at a later date, spare me, please. read more

Waited 2 months, paid 650$, and they didn't fix any problems of the car, they didn't fixed my ac, just charged few times and said that has leaks, and will be very expensive, they didn't changed my alternator, which killed my battery completely, thank god is a diesel and it doesn't care... they had no time, but I agreed to change it for 550$, which a shop does it for 400$ today, same alternator, paid insurance 200 each month, paid them 650$, and when I came to take the car, they offered me to leave it for 2 more days , at : why would u take the cars and and charge money if u have no workers, they said everyone has bills to pay, but I want to be heard , they didn't fix anything on my car, just killed, and it started to rust on their lot, they said they have cars in shop since march, they don't know how to fix sht... avoid them! read more

This is easy. You can own an expensive German car (i.e.,BMW, Mercedes, Audi) and pay ridiculous prices for a rotating group of under-skilled, overworked "kids" (unless your fortunate enough to get George or Ray at Open Road in Edison) to pull codes and determine by changing parts you'll pay for until they either put your car aside for one of the two names I mentioned or get lucky. You do get a FREE car wash at the dealer that will remove any wax you just had put on during a detail OR You can go to German Car Shop. Serge and Rob and their techs have FORGOTTEN more than the "kids" at the stealer-ships. And because they do outstanding work, offer fair prices and no wax-removing free car wash, guess what? You need an appointment. They are not an emergency room for everybody's emergency. They manage to get cars in and out, even when techs get the occasional flu or need a vacation, every day of the year. The first time I went there was more than 10 years ago when my wife's 2000 323i kept losing coolant. There are tons of YouTube videos on how to replace a radiator expansion tank. But the thing about cars, is sometimes parts do break loose as easy as they do in the video. That's when I discovered 2 things: E46Fanatics.com and Rob at German Car Shop. Avoid this repair shop . I had been going to them over the last 8-10 years . Till their owner -Father and son were actively involved the quality of work was good . Over the last few years - their main tech -Sergio has taken over and has ruined the reputation . They have claimed to have repaired by Transmission and later I found out no actual work was done . There is a pattern that they will keep adding more work and tell you that it needs urgent repair once the car is with them . AVOID GOING TO THEM !! read more

They are the best auto shop that I have ever dealt with. They are honest, direct and a fantastic team. There has been many a times when I have showed up with minor problem where they would pour a quart of oil / replace a bulb and say, it OK pay me when you come in next. There arn't too many shops like them now, a lot of other mechanics use a scare techniq to spend $$$ on you car. There was this time where one of the shops on Stelton road said that my car was a hazzard & danger waiting to happen. I immediatly too it to the German car shop and they put my car up and explain what needs fixing and what was frevilous, as the other shop was trying to rip me off. This is a very honest business owned by a very knowledgeable owner Rob. They fixed my locks, aligned my suspension, and even checked on some uneven headlamps. Rates are very reasonable, though they don't take credit cards (no worries I just hit the walmart across the street). Long post, but hang in, I promise you'll be happy for the info! Last May, brought a car in from a dealership to have German Car Shop do a "purchase inspection," a 2005 BMW for my 20 year old daughter. Many people I personally know who have German cars recommended them. Good enough for me. Not only were they able to accommodate us THAT DAY (INCREDIBLE LUCK!) but, they pointed out about 4k worth of nightmares from this car that I was already getting a sketchy vibe from. As we walk OUT of the shop, to return the car to the dealership, one of the owners of GCS says to me: "Look, I would NEVER interfere with someone else's sale, but, since you already said you were NOT interested in the car you brought in (we were NOT after 4k of undisclosed crap!) but we occasionally have good cars for sale here, and we have one that has less miles, is a year newer, and is a car we serviced for years, if you want to look at it." We came back the same day and checked it out, and wrote a check on the spot. Mechanically great for that age, maybe needed some new all weather tires, which we were going to buy anyway, and the car is a leeeeetle faded (the dread black paint) but we were not concerned about a paint job, rather, getting a great, safe, used car for our daughter that would last another 500,000 miles. :) Awesome purchase, we were so happy, my daughter ECSTATIC. We had them put the new tires on it as well. There were a few issues with an oil light going off, then an engine sensor, a brake sensor...German Car Shop took the car right back in, gave it a good look, and reset a crazed sensor, and we were all set. Fast forward to the months from May 2016 to now: As you can imagine, my 20 year old has likely been driving this car like an indy car. Last weekend, she reported "a big scary noise." We checked, ball bearings rolling all over and a broken belt...They took the car in the next day, and determined she somehow didn't hear the dying breaths of a compressor screaming (which blew), and took a belt with it as well. As always, they worked quickly (though they are busy as hell because they ROCK) called to discuss the issue and the price, and completed the repairs faster than they anticipated. We picked the car up today, and I asked them if they have another car for sale, as my son will be driving in a few months. I am old enough to sniff out bullshit and know good people when I meet them. Sergio, Rob, and the WHOLE team are head and shoulders ABOVE anyone I've ever dealt with, and I do not hesitate to tell EVERYONE I meet about the awesome service (and peace of mind) we get from them! read more

Been having mixed emotions about the shop i took my 2001 Mercedes benz got it towed there Friday night at first we were only gonna get the cluster fixed till i felt somthing funny with the car and jacked it up at home and saw the wheel and you can tell when the car is parked and sitting the wheel isnt sitting right. But i left a note saying driver side wheel bearing is really bad i wrote it 2 times on the paper when I dropped the car off(any mechanic with some Knowledge knows that if a car has a bad wheel bearing theres a big possibility of the wheel falling off) . I went there monday night cause i saw it was up on a jack stand outside didnt know why Tuesday my dad went over to see what happened they test drove it on 27 and the wheel fell off further up didnt know thats what happened didnt get a call from them nothing apparently it was a 100 tow and then they said its X amount of money to keep it there per day not professional on how the situation was handled they kept bring up money when my dad was talking to one of the guys at the shop and they kept saying it was our fault because we didnt write on the paper do not drive they also kicked my dad out the building unprofessional read more
