Purchased a vanilla roll cake on Saturday, 4/4/2020 for my mom. She cut into it Sunday to find mold spread throughout. This is unacceptable. If you own a bakery business then you have a responsibility to be aware of how long your products have been on the shelf and timely discard items as necessary. It is completely wrong to knowingly sell expired products to customers. More so considering this product was behind a glass case and I would have no way of knowing how long it's been sitting there but you as the owner would and should. I can no longer trust the owner or their products they sell. Never buying anything from this bakery again. read more

Purchased a sponge cake was pretty good very light and fluffy. Suggest some coffee would be very nice combo. The mocha cake was filled with cream cheese was pretty good as well. As a bakery, the most important aspect is freshness and this bakery fails at this awfully! I bought some items on a busy saturday including a castella cake, a soboro cream bread, and a peanut bread. I took a bite when I got home and the cream inside the Soboro bread was sour and spoiled. The peanut bread was hard and felt like it was sitting out there for days. Too far for me to drive back for a refund so I threw the breads and my money out the trash. I get it that it's tough for small businesses, but I hope the owners read this and make changes. read more

Back in the days of old, mom and dad usually brought my nephew to this nearby Korean bakery. Since they're resting in peace, I'm continuing the practice. He's a local and when I visit (often) it's an easy stop since they're inside Lotte Plaza Market. Uber-convenience brings us back for more. After grocery shopping in Lotte, having lunch next door, or finishing a meal at the food court also inside Lotte - a cinch. These folks sell popular Korean pastries similar to Shilla and other k-bakeries. We routinely eye and grab the same goodies. Nephew likes: -Cream puffs: Bite-sized; fun for kids -Soboro: Korean streusel bread w/peanut crumble topping -Milky slushy taro boba smoothie My picks pair well w/black coffee or plain tea: -Steamed cake: Very spongy bouncy cake - fave -Castella cake: Firm sponge cake -Madeleines: Do you see a pattern here? :) We usually pay by cash and I'm guessin' they've nicknamed me "quarters" lol. My family loves the Asian pastries here. We regularly get the red bean, coconut cream, custard cream, and butter cream. But have also gotten mocha cream and ham. Their mango bubble drinks are the best (as determined by my children!). More like creamy milkshakes and rich in flavor. The cappuccino bubble drink is great too. It's so tempting to stop here after a grocery trip to Lotte since it's right by the left entrance/exit and there are dozens of delicious looking baked treats on display. I really like the consistency of their bubble teas; they make their thicker, almost like a milkshake, and their boba (the little round things) always taste fresh, chewy, and delicious. I've tried the mango and taro flavors, and I like both although the mango tastes nothing like real mango. It's still good though. A medium size bubble tea is $2.99 and a large is $3.99, so the prices are great. I haven't tried a bunch of the baked items except for the little macaron looking things. They were okay - very airy and extremely sweet. They pair well with hot coffee for sure. I love how friendly the employees always are, and I also love the handmade signs. They add a unique touch. They always have free samples out to try by the register as well. Among the hidden treasures inside Lotte, this place is definitely worth trying. read more

I'm only giving this 1 star review for the bakery place in Lotte Plaza. This is the cake I got today, look at the ugly handwriting. Please, anyone can do better than that. I've NEVER seen uglier handwriting on a cake than this one. I'm so disappointed. On top of that, when my dad went to pick up the cake, the cashier just grabbed a cake from the display, and my dad said he didn't want that one because we pre-ordered it a few days ago, and obviously it wasn't freshly made today. Then the cashier got one from the back, which we don't know if it was made today or a couple days ago. Again, the cake didn't have any writing on it, but we requested when we pre-ordered it. So they probably just took the cake to the back and did the writing while my dad was waiting. Anyways, you all can see how ugly that writing is. Did they hire a 5 year old to do that? Who knows. I'm just letting you guys see it. If you guys don't wanna ruin your birthday and waste your money, then DON'T order cake from them. Enough said. read more

My reason for going was to purchase Macarons to decorate my cakes. The taste wasn't bad... it was decent. The only issue (which may only apply to some who care) is that their Macarons are cracked, dry, and not cream filled like they should be. I can't comment on their cakes or other pastries. Never tried them. With that being said, their Tai Tea Bubble Smoothie was amazing! Not as thick as I prefer but the taste was on point. I did try to call ahead due to not being able to find them. Yes there was definitely was a language barrier and they couldn't answer my question but no big deal. Purchased the sweet potato cake and took a bite when I noticed a weird taste. Then I cut the cake in half and found black mold in it. Apparently they bake the cake and then if they don't sell it, they take off all the frosting and they put new frosting on the same cake that's been sitting on the shelve for over a week. One good thing though, they at least gave me a refund. The sad thing is, this wasn't the first time this happened apparently. read more

We love their breads and buns, and in fact we go here every other day!!! They use minimal if not no preservatives (which means shorter shelf life). Their milk bread and Japanese bread are so good. I would rather buy a white bread here than from a supermarket!!! read more

Poor service from Bakery. Called the bakery the night before to place an order for a cake, was told that the cake was in stock and could be picked up at 10AM the next morning. Called the store the next morning at 9:30AM to confirm when bakery would be open and was told it would open at 10AM. Arrived at 10AM and bakery was closed. Waited for 5 minutes and then asked at the customer service desk and was told that they usually open at 10AM. Waited another 5 minutes and an employee came into the bakery and was taking towels off of some of the items, but when I asked about purchasing the cake, I was told bakery would not open for another 30 minutes. I left and will not be returning to Lotte in the future. The sad part is the cake was sitting in the glass case, just needed to be boxed and sold. Apparently they were not interested in my business. Okay, I just went to the bakery today 2/13/2016 around 11 am - 12 pm . I bought a vanilla cake and got home around 2:30 pm same day. When I tried to bite into that cake, it was solid as a rock... I'm like really. The other stuff I bought is okay but at least throw out the bad cakes. Unknown to me, I was given a bad one. Gee thanks. I am not too happy about that. I had better cake at the Korean bakery across from Lotta in Ellicott City, MD. That stuff was fresh and yea, I am willing to spend $5 for it, per slice. It's fresh cake after all. After this, I'm not going back there. Sorry. I don't mine being charge more when its super fresh cake; however, not when it's that old and super hard as a rock and someone slips it in as a fresh cake. That does not fly with me. Personally, I love cake and pastries but not when its Old. I am willing to spend; but, don't sell me a rock hard cake. One last thing, make sure to charge the correct price for everything. Its really not funny when I get over charge for something I did not buy. $31 when I only bought $14 dollars worth of stuff and I got a rock hard cake. If I had bought a fresh whole cake, then yea I can see I spent a little more. In addition, I also made sure I got the right bakery...and I drove over 2 hours to get too and from the bakery. This place is very unprofessional. I just called to get the location of their business due to me being in the area (parking lot) and not seeing the business. I asked where they were located exactly and she told me she could not understand me and hung up the phone without trying to rectify or clarify my question. This is America and therefore the person should speak English. This is ridiculous. read more

I enjoyed the cream filled pastry and whatever the bread with a peanut streusel is. They also have bubble tea which is cheaper than other places in town. I actually loved the texture of the bubbles here better than other places as well. I was very happy to find pastries and thai tea bubble tea in the same location. read more
