Since it's a French bakery, I had expected the pastry to be rich in chocolate and not sweet. Instead, it was the opposite. I'm not sure how the other dessert-based pastries are but I'm leery now. The person who took our order wasn't pleasant by any means, but I gave a tip anyway in case they were just overwhelmed and didn't feel like being welcoming. The coffee was rich and not overly acidic, and it was strong enough that you could still appreciate the chocolatey, nutty undertones under the generous helping of steamed milk and foam. I also loved the little heart sprinkle they added in the center of the mug -- such a cute final touch! My friend and I also split two of their savory items, the cheese arepa and spinach and feta empanada. The empanada was a little different than what I was used to, as it was super flaky and buttery, with an almost croissant or puff pastry-like dough. It was delicious and the savory feta went wonderfully with the spinach and the slightly peppery mayo-based sauce they served it with. The employee who gave me my drink showed it to his supervisor I guess because quite a bit of the ice had melted. He was told, "it's fine, it sat" with a who cares attitude. I was fine with the drink as I was late and I had not asked for a remake. Since it was quite diluted on top, I went over to stir the drink and remove the cover. The supervisor looked over at me then proceeded to tell the employee that it's not their problem if it's not picked up on time, they just make them when we give them a time. His attitude was very much "screw them if they are late." As I was standing right across from him, I said, "I heard you." He approached the area that leads to the dining room and said "I was talking to him, mind your business." As I have worked in customer service, managed service employees, and hire service reps, my comment to him was simply to bring awareness that his "customer" should not be witness to his complete disregard for them or their purchase. He became very aggressive and told me to get my drink and get out. I asked for his name and he refused and continued to tell me to get out and don't come back. I shared that I would be reporting his behavior and he responded, good. You are trespassed. I asked for what reason? and was told that he didn't like my attitude and that unless I didn't have a problem with him then to get out and he would call the police if I ever came back. He proceeded to tell me that he had plenty of customers and didn't need my business as he has 5 stores. Truthfully, I am happy not to return to this store or any other if this is the level of service provided by your employees. On my previous visit, I waited almost 10 minutes for my drink after it was to be ready and I had no issues or complaints with the staff. Things happen and I assume they did not hold up my drink on purpose. To not be extended the same courtesy as a paying customer is beyond mind boggling. There are too many similar bakeries in this area for me to stress over this location, but poor service bothers me and this was far beyond poor service.
