Ooooo Nothing Bundt cake in Germantown! Yay! I'm so glad! Crumbl is going to have some competition. The store will be having a grand opening tomorrow. Good luck to everyone that can make it to the event, I will be working lol But the place is clean, the cakes look good! The staff were inviting. Shannon was so nice and gave me some recommendations. We got the red velvet cake and the Oreo bunt. This place has always been pricey but always worth the price. Haha. So excited for this store. Parking is out front and super convenient. It's in the Wigan's shopping center

Their cakes are always so delightfully moist and in stock. The people working the register are very knowledgeable and considerate of the occasion you're looking to bring a sweet treat to! The music selection is on the pop kind, but you'd expect that from such a cheery place.

I love this place BUT that gluten free is nasstyyy lmaoo it's so dry. This review is about the cake itself, not the business

Tried several flavours of Bundtlet cakes, they are good but are extremely sweet. Over the border sweet. Just too much sugar.

They do also sell a variety of drinks, teas, and even greeting cards. Here is how everything was: The Chocolate mousse shooters with whipped cream (2 oz) was definitely decadent, but grainy tasting as well. It was tough to get over the texture of something so rich that was meant to be smooth and wasn't. I liked the Salted Caramel Cheesecake Shooters (2 oz) a bit more because of the different flavors (the cheesecake layer being my favorite). The Chocolate Covered Strawberries were nice, but the strawberries were tart (which is definitely tough to gauge). Lastly, the buttercream on the Mini Cupcake was overly sweet and the cupcake was not as moist as I would have anticipated. There is limited parking (outdoor) outside the shop, but it is free.

The new owner was a good dude. He provided great service, was very friendly & personable, and has lots of goals & innovations that he wants to accomplish for the business. I had a couple of items I wanted to try, but some of them weren't available. On my first trip, I got the carrot cupcake $3.95 and the Oreo cupcake $3.95. On my second trip, I came back to get my birthday gift they gave me which was $10 store credit, and got both of the cupcakes and a cinnamon crunch scone. Also, the near $4 price tag for the size of these cupcakes isn't something I'm too fond of, but oh well. - The carrot cake cupcake was good: the icing and cake complemented each other very well. - The Oreo cupcake was alright, but I wasn't impressed with it. - The cinnamon crunch scone was an easy miss for me, didn't do anything for my taste buds. Overall, it's a decent spot with a relatively limited amount of pastries but I fully expect in the coming months for the business to take a huge shift and really blossom.

Most people, especially on weekends and days off, have time to go out and shop--but you close quite early, which limits that opportunity. These kinds of hours don't make much sense for a popular bakery. It feels more like an office schedule than a customer-focused business. If you had more flexible hours, more people would be able to enjoy the quality you offer.

I should've gotten the smaller box since it'll cost more and you pay by weight, but I tried many things like the Finger Baklava, Rice Cookie, Portokalopita cake slice, Chickpea Cookies, Bamieh, Zulbia, Diamond Baklava, and a Mini Rollet. My faves were the Portokalopita for its custard and slight orange flavor, the Mini Rollet (very simple yet tasty to me), Rice Cookie, and Chickpea Cookie. The chickpea cookie tasted exactly like an Indian sweet or cookie which I loved. I was a bit disappointed with the Zulbia, Bamieh, and Baklava. I expected a stronger rose flavor in the Zulbia and Bamieh. I am also used to Zulbia (or Jalebi) having saffron too. The Baklava was good, but not the best I've had- it was lacking rosewater or orange blossom essence. Overall, glad I came to sample a bunch. There's other pastries I'm still curious to try like the mango cake slice. For a middle eastern pastry review though, it was okay. Not bad.

History of Present Indulgence: Wife and I came for breakfast…read moreafter dropping our dog off at Germantown Veterinary Clinic. This was our first visit. Physical Exam: Food - I ordered the special four cheese bacon bagel that they had on special with tomato and scallion cream cheese. My wife got a plain bagel with scallion cream cheese. It was all impressively reminiscent of a NY bagel. Great density, chew, and crust. The cream cheese was administered generously. Ambiance - The establishment presents as a classic New York bodega with a deli counter layout -- compact, no-frills, and entirely appropriate for its intended function. Great place if you want something with quick service and great food. Service - Quick, functional, and to the point. No complications noted. Assessment: A neighborhood gem and so thankful we stumbled upon it. Royal Bagel Bakery delivers an authentically New York bagel experience in an otherwise unlikely corner of Germantown, Maryland. One downside is they got very plain coffee, but it's the type of place where I'm looking at the coffee purely as fuel, and nothing more. Plan It's so far away but I definitely will try to go again next time I'm nearby. Specialty bagel was a phenomenal choice. Gotta try their cakes next time, which looked crazy good.

My little joy was bringing my grandson up close to the large glass case so he could look at the delectable offerings. Maybe the start of a tradition?
