Biscuit (the eggs and sausage are what I made at home to compliment it)
    Farhat K.

Wow. I've been a MoCo guy for decades and never knew about this spot. They have some of the best biscuits I've ever tried. And their gluten free carrot cake is so good, you can't even tell it's gluten free. Hats off. Thank you to the cashier for recommending it when I said I had a sweet tooth haha. Pretty chill and homey vibes inside. I'm definitely coming back to try their other goodies.

Love this artisanal bakery. It's small grab and go location. I adore their scones. It is perfectly balanced with the right amount of sweetness and texture. I recommend any of their scones. I love the blackberry and raspberry scones. The staff are friendly and quick.

    Cherry Turnover

The moment I bit into the cherry turnover, I knew this would be a five star rating. Spring Mill is a quintessential charming bakery- aromatic cozy interior and shelves full of breads and pastries. The cashier was very helpful and walked me through each option in the pastry case. I was tempted by their huge range of scones but decided on a cherry turnover. The pastry was flaky with a lightly sweetened top. The filling was the perfect blend of tart cherry and sweetness. I could wax poetic about that cherry turn over all day!

I love all the bakery items and desserts from Spring Mill Bread!! Everything here tastes amazing, very moist and fresh baked Customer Service is amazing too they are always so kind. The service is welcoming, warm and your greeted the minute the door opens. The ambiance has a very homey feel. I have tried many things from the bakery (scones, turnovers, cookies, cakes, cheesecakes, and many bakery items)!!! Their gluten free items are very moist and worth a try. If you haven't been here please give them a try you will love all their items

This bakery sells delicious things. I can say a lot about the customer service, which is friendly and accommodating to special orders, but mostly this bakery sells delicious things. I'll admit that I like a crusty bread, and that's not their thing. I buy the challah consistently and the Apple Streusel bread on occasion. I ordered a birthday cake last year that was beautiful. The brownies are too good, so I don't buy them often because I have trouble not gobbling them in 10 seconds flat. If you call ahead they'll save things for you. I recommend it if you plan to buy a particular loaf of bread that's not available daily. They don't really give you a list of things they make for special order (of which I am aware) but ask them for what you want and they'll figure it out for a good price.

This Spring Mill Bread is located in the Potomac Valley Shopping Center, across from Nothing Bundt and on the same side as Starbucks. There is plenty of parking in the lot, which can get crowded during people hours given the many establishments in the center. Luckily I don't live closer to Spring Mill Bread because this would be deadly. The challah bread (natural white, which is only available on Fridays) was soft, fluffy, and slightly sweet. Used it to make French toast, and also spread some almond butter or Nutella on it. So good! The size of the loaf was good and the price was cheaper than other bakeries in the area. The chocolate and almond croissants were also good, with the almond croissant being my favorite of the two. I also tried some of the apple turnover, which had a good amount of apples and wasn't too sweet. The blueberry crumble was tasty and made for a nice breakfast treat. I enjoyed everything I bought and service was friendly. Just wish they didn't run out of their chocolate chip scones. Guess that means I just have to come back again!

I love freshly baked bread! And Spring Mill provides that and much more :). We have tried a lot of their pastries and bread and all of them have been really good. Love the apple streusel bread and their scones! Also loving the fact that you can see them make bread from the window!

Spring Mill Bread Co. is our go-to place to pick up some fresh, fluffy, and tasty bread. The moment you walk in the door, the welcoming aroma of freshly baked bread greets you and the staff is always super friendly! They used to provide free samples, but it's understandable that they can't do that anymore with the pandemic. This time, we got a delicious pesto asiago bread, but the bread is always amazing no matter which one you get! The rolls are so soft (we always get the wheat) and the spinach and feta is fantastic! They'll slice the bread for you if you want, and the bread also freezes well!

Great baked goods! The bread here is a must try. The scones, particularly the spinach and the mushrooms ones are bomb!

A little disappointed this visit. I was expecting a fresh loaf of cinnamon bread. When I got home it seemed like I got a day old loaf. :-(

The frosting used on the outside and the cream used on the inside was not the fluffy and soft kind we liked and was not similar to the other cakes from this bakery that we liked. It tasted like hard butter and unfortunately we had to throw out the entire cake since everyone refused to eat more than the first bite. My husband asked the employee if this was a vanilla sponge cake and they said yes since he cannot eat chocolate cake. Unfortunately once we cut it, it was chocolate. It was a waste of $50+ and would not recommend unless you're just purchasing for pictures and not to eat. The mango and strawberry croissants were good with sweet whipped cream. I liked how the cream also tasted like mango in the mango croissant. The sweet pretzel was also good and crunchy. The inside of the store is nice with plenty of tables. I also liked how there were a lot of outlet spaces.

There was every kind of croissant you can imagine. I bought my favorite almond croissant. There were fruit and cream filled pastries. I bought a fruit and cream filled pastry too. There are cases filled with pastries. Service was great. I was waited on right away and they packed my box in a bag with a handle, to make it easier to carry. Au revoir, for now! There's seating inside, but the seating area is pretty small and some people were at tables looking like they weren't going anywhere anytime soon. It was a nice morning, so we were able to grab an outside picnic table. The service was decent. One disappointment was when the counter person asked me if I wanted room for cream in my coffee, I said yes and asked if they had nondairy products. She said they had almond and soy. I asked for soy and she returned with my drink. When I went to pay, I saw they charged 79 cents for almond, soy and oatmilk. Ok. Here's the thing. I assume it's on the board and I should have looked, but she also could have mentioned it. Also, charging for these items when they put a little in your coffee leaves me feeling like I'm being abused for not being a dairy person. I get it - it's a pastry shop and the items are buttery and rich from cream. But please - 79 cents for a little soy milk? (I know this isn't uncommon for coffee shops, but it doesn't make it right.). And the coffee ($4.25) was decent - not great. I expected better (richer, more flavorful) coffee from a nice pastry shop like this. Anyway, it's a nice neighborhood place and there's a lot of treats there.

Both quite true but given I think it had been close to three years since we had been there, it is pretty impressive! I ordered the farmhouse sandwich on a biscuit, it was out of this world good. The potato cake had great flavor but subtle, went perfectly with the egg, savory turkey sausage and just the right amount of sour cream. Man oh man. I don't eat a big breakfast often but this is so good. We brought desserts home, the bread pudding we loved on our previous visit and the tres leches. Both spectacular.
