I've got 4 kids, ages 3-14 and the docs and staff are always patient and thorough. Reception staff is quick and friendly. The optical team is amazing and have helped me navigate benefits when my kids have lost or broken glasses. They have state of the art equipment (the digital photographs of our eyes are incredible!) and a large selection of eyeglass frames and contacts. I ended up getting my frames at the Mequon location because this one was closed on 12/30 (and I wanted to use my insurance) due to Omricon. While the frame selection was smaller at Mequon, the staff was very helpful and I found a pair. They delivered the glasses to this location. There was a mixup in the lab and they returned an empty frame so it took longer than it should have.

The quality of the exam and the selection of the frames are the best I have found in the MKE area. My only reservation to recommend Be Spectacled is how difficult they make it to select lenses once you have picked out some frames. An associate literally read aloud my options off their computer monitor, without clarifying the costs or features. When I selected the basic lenses, they said I didn't want those (then why even offer them?). I never really understood what I was getting or paying. I didn't even see an itemized receipt until I picked up my glasses ($275 for lenses, oof). It all felt rushed, opaque and like I was getting up-sold at a car dealership. If they would be more clear and transparent about lense options and costs (maybe put it all on a flyer you can hand to the customer), this place would be an easy five-star review.

I'm happy to say that changed recently. I made my appointment, had my eyes checked, and got my prescription. They have a nice selection of glasses to choose from and are super helpful in finding your pair. "What style are you thinking of trying?" she asked "Bold frames!" I exclaimed with confidence apropos of nothing. And, bold frames I got. And, now, I can see the world. Shining. Shimmering. Splendid. Get to it!

In my many visits, I have seen several of the doctors and have been pleased with all of them, I find them to be knowledgeable, thorough, friendly, and not pushy about upselling for services that I do not need. I always get a contact lens exam since I don't ever wear glasses and have always been pleased with the experience. They keep good records so I don't have to remember the last time I visited--they already know! In two years, when it's time for my next exam, I will be back to Grafton Eye Center.

She took plenty of time to answer my questions. I did not feel like I was "just another ho-hum patient". The eye center's staff were also very pleasant and friendly; always smiling and chatting. I won't wait another 5 years for my next appointment. I'll be back next year.

Dr. Winter at the Sussex Eyecare Center is by far the best! His exams are very thorough. What I appreciate is that he explains to you exactly what he's doing and the results. He takes the time to listen to any eye concerns that you have and works with you to determine the best approach. It is obvious he really cares about his patients! I highly recommend Dr. Winter at the Sussex Eyecare Center to anyone looking for a superior eye exam experience.
