Recently, I had to update my contacts and glasses. When passing by this storefront, I thought it might be too fancy for me. While it is a lovely store with a wide selection of stylish frames, the people who work there couldn't be nicer and down-to-earth. I was surprised that pricing of the frames are similar to many chain stores. So many styles, but luckily I had a great navigator to help find the perfect frame for me! Initially, I went to Specs Appeal because I wanted to buy a specific brand, which I thought they had, but I was mistaken (I mixed up two brands). Because I was already there, I decided to look around. They have bvulgari, chanel, OGI, pro design, tom ford, kate spade, ray ban. A wonderful young woman greeted my husband and I and asked some questions. I had my RX in hand as well as my old glasses. I showed her and we talked a little about my taste, but then we started to comb through all of the cases, one by one, trying on glasses and giving opinions. I took up a LOT of her time and almost walked out of there without a pair of glasses, but then she also asked her colleague if she could try to pick out some games in similar styles, and they ended up getting me a pair of glasses that I fell in love with! Throughout the entire process they were so helpful. The doctor even assisted and provided his opinion on the glasses, which meant a lot - he seemed really involved with the sales floor. They even adjusted my husbands Warby Parkers (for a small fee) while I looked around. They sized me and ordered my glasses right away, and they arrived about four days later. I went in and the service was still amazing. They made adjustments and then gave me this little gift bag with a cleaning cloth, solution, and my glasses. The awesome thing about this place, besides the service and selection (they have mid-high end frames), was that they give a spray bottle full of eyeglass cleaner that you can bring in and continue to get refilled. Go green, Specs Appeal! Anyway, long story short, my husband and I were very impressed and he has decided that we will go back there next year as well. Highly recommend! read more

There are lots of places to buy glasses, but none compare with Specs Appeal. The quality of the eye exam and refraction s excellent, the selection of frames and the attitude of staff is exceptional. I cannot recommend them more highly. read more

Having just moved to Milwaukee, my wife and daughter went to the shop to check it out since it was in our vision plan. Nice store and staff, but my daughter asked them if they could adjust her glasses. Of course, but we will charge you $5 (which they did)! I look at this as a courtesy and, since I wonder what else lurks, they are off our list as an optometrist for the three of us. read more

It has been at least 10 years since I had an eye exam. I finally forced myself to get a check and was looking for an easy option. After checking on Yelp (of course!) I decided to try Specs Appeal. Making an appointment was easy. FYI Dr. Ivanoski is only at this location on Thursday afternoons. He was very competent and knowledgable. He started the exam as soon as I arrived (10 minutes early). In total it took about 30 minutes. I did not need glasses but was impressed by the number of salespeople in the store (4). All were very friendly. I over heard a sales lady working with a couple looking for sunglasses. There was no high pressure sales techniques used. Overall it was a great experience. read more

When people ask me where I got my super cute, unique glasses I tell the to go to Specs Appeal. Their customer service is AHMAZING. Picking out new glasses can be as tiresome as buying a new mattress. The staff at Specs Appeal made It anything but. I had fun and didn't feel rushed or frustrated. The specialist that was helping me was so patient and understanding with my indecisiveness. I bought my glasses there about 3 years ago and I go in now and then to have the screws tightened. I've worked with kids (mostly toddlers) for 7 years now and this is the first pair I haven't had replaced after a year. They're strong and super super cute! I love my glasses but if I ever need a second pair i will be going back to Specs Appeal to buy them. read more

I almost never write reviews reviews because there's generally not much extraordinary to comment about. I'm no longer hip or trendy and we all know that Specs Appeal can get you there if you want. I just want to emphasize that I've NEVER gotten better personalized service than I did get from Stan and Michelle. They're fast and professional and that's what counts in the end. A lens needed refinishing post pickup and normally would require at least 24 hours to complete. Stan gladly took care of it for me in 30 minutes because they care about your satisfaction. I hope I'll get the chance to refer others their way or that this review will be the impetus to get you in their door; you wont be disappointed. read more

This is the best optical shop in Milwaukee, without question. I have a glasses fetish that rivals any woman's obsession with shoes, and was seriously jonesing after moving to Milwaukee from NYC, where I had my go to shop. Specs Appeal has an amazing collection of frames and best of all awesome service. I found them when one of my favorite pairs had been damaged, I was sure beyond repair. The owner took a look and said "we'll see what we can do." They are now better than ever, and I'm one of their biggest fans. The staff is fantastic too, I highly recommend! read more

I went in to have my broken sunglasses repaired. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They asked if I purchased my glasses there, but I had not. They said "no worries" and fixed the sunglasses on the spot. They had them repaired in just 10 minutes, and even had me sit down to have them sized correctly. The customer service was noticeably different than what is found these days. I don't typically write reviews, but they deserve it with how well they operate there. read more

If you are like me (and I have no doubt that you are), you understand that you can only be as cool as your eyewear. With a chunk of unspent FSA change in my hand, I took my sister with me to go eyeglass shopping. We stopped at a couple of stores in Bayshore that had a lackluster inventory, and then made our way to Specs Appeal. What an absolute delight! This is mos def where the cool cats hang. They have an immense and diverse inventory of frames. While they have their share to please the traditional and consertative folk, they also have an outstanding collection of very unique frames (at every price point along the spectrum) for the more daring. To be honest, I had a hard time picking just one pair and I may be in later in the year with more unspent FSA money for another pair I really loved. The staff were great, the store is hip, and the location/parking are very convenient. If you want to be as cool as me (and I have no doubt that you do), I highly recommend that you check it out. read more

The first thing I would like to tell everyone is that this store is very expensive.They do have an excellent inventory of hip framesBut they also double the price of most of those frames.If you don't believe me go there,write down some prices.And then go online and look to see what those same exact make frames cost from other retailers.I did this with some Ray Ban frames.I went to the official RayBan Site to check there prices and even they offered them for 75% less.On Amazon I found some that were 100% less. There sales staff is frankly kind of condescending and snooty.They cut down all other chain retailers and act like they are the only store in town that can properly fit and offer you high quality lenses.That may be true of some chains,but I have visited other owner operated stores that have given me much better deals with just as high quality frames and lenses. Finally,I have just had the experiance of visiting another owner operated store that was fitting me with progressive no line Bi Focals.I asked the opthmalogist if they could contact Specs Appeal to obtain the brand name of the lenses I had previously received from them.I told the doctor I liked the lenses and had easily adjusted to them.She told me absolutly,she would recomend I get the same brand since it would probably be easy on my eyes to adjust to the new prescription I had just received.They called Specs Appeal and asked for the brand.The sales person told them they don't keep records on that info.I thoght that sounded fishy so I called them a few days later.This time they told me they have the records but wouldn't give them out because that info was propriatery. i think that is ridiculous and unethical.If Specs appeal is run by a doctor he should be obligated to do what is best for his patients and release the information.The doctor didn't manufacture the lenses he only picked them out from a manufacturer. t read more

We've used their West Bend store for years. We have always received excellent service and both stores. Friendly and knowledgable staff who are always willing to help. This time I didn't buy new frames but had new lenses made. They were just as accommodating as when I have purchased a new pair of glasses. They even offered a solution for computer glasses that I will explore in the near future. We would strongly recommend Specs Appeal! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Specs Appeal! I was having a tough time choosing frames and actually ended up driving to Bayshore from Madison just to check out this store and I am SO glad that I did. First of all, the staff is phenomenal! They were so helpful and fun and honest and really listened to what I was looking for and gave me great suggestions and feedback. And they do not pressure at all which is very unlike other stores! Secondly, the wide variety of styles and brands was exactly what I was looking for (although it made my decision very tough!). This was by far the best experience I have ever had shopping for eyeglasses and will be making the drive from Madison for glasses in the future! read more

My husband & I entered the store on a Sunday afternoon to find glasses for me. My first pair, ever. There were no other customers in the store. We were "sort of" greeted" by a middle aged woman wearing a white blouse tied around her midriff. Eewwe! She asked if we needed any help. Given the fact that all of their frames are behind glass, it seemed an odd question. Did she think we just wanted to look at frames through the glass cases? There was also another woman employee "working" in the store who never left her chair, and never spoke. Not sure what her function was. Long story short, midriff never once made any suggestions, offered to open a cabinet, or provide any type of actual help. She was to busy looking at art on her very large computer monitor to be bothered with the only customers in the store. The store did have lots of designer frames, but unless you are able to select your frames by pushing your nose against the locked cabinets, you might want to pass on this store. read more
