I contracted Home Depot to buy and install a quartz countertop. When they came to measure the installer from Gerrity Stone was polite and completed templating in a timely manner. The counters were installed a week later and the installers were polite and did a good job. They only complaint that i had is they failed to include a side back splash in my order. But Gerrity Stone/ Home depot decided not to charge for the extra piece of stone. Iwould use them again. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Placed $17K order for Cambria quartz countertops with GerrityStone/HomeDepot and it's been a nightmare. Day of order delivery, GerrityStone calls us to tell us that they broke our quartz countertop at their warehouse. We ask them how much longer it would take to get an unbroken countertop. General Manager Mark Capuano tells us we need to receive the two broken pieces with a seam because "contractually he can put a seam anywhere he wants." Mr. Capuano offers us a "$250 gift certificate for a nice dinner" on our $17K order. We say no. He asks us what we want? We ask for our original unbroken countertop order to be fulfilled. He tells us that'll cost an additional $3,000. He asks if we would receive the broken countertop with an additional seam. We don't want to take the broken countertop, but we'll take it if we're given $2K in compensation. He tells us this discussion is a waste of a time and hangs up on us. GerrityStone comes back and offers us $500 to receive the broken countertop. We refuse and are still waiting to hear from them. Addendum * In GerrityStone's document, it specifically states "Seam placement should be discussed during the in-home template appointment...Final seam placement is at the discretion of the professional, and seam location may be able to be moved or eliminated in particular circumstances...Additional seams may be required based on the ability to maneuver a piece into position at the installation site." We reviewed and approved the single seam placement for our L-shaped kitchen countertop. GerrityStone is not moving a seam, they're introducing another seam due to damage to the quartz countertop under their supervision at their warehouse. Doesn't GerrityStone have insurance for damage like this? GerrityStone's website says "we will only be satisfied when you are"....we are definitely not satisfied. read more

I bought a house last summer and in this crazy housing market it wasn't practical to gut the entire kitchen. Instead of that, I painted the cabinets and changed out the hardware and upgraded the appliances. To pull it all together I got new countertops from Gerrity. Their staff is incredibly kind and professional. Tonia had so much patience with me during the design process and I truly appreciated that. The install was smooth and their technicians are friendly and highly skilled. Recommend 100%! read more

Horrible. Was a Home Depot customer. Initially was a positive experience, took me around the granite yard and got to pick out my slab. Nice folks working in the office. Installed and the FIRST NIGHT after using it, stains appeared on the surface. I took pictures and sent it to them. They sent over a technician to apply something to granite to remove the stains. I was blamed for not sealing it properly which is a yearly process- it was brand new! I told him that, clearly didn't have the whole story. Fine. But at least he agreed there was a problem. The treatment didn't really help. I reached back out to Gerrity and was given the run around, the buck was passed etc etc. No one returned my calls. Going to go to small claims court, this is insane. Almost $3k for a stained piece of granite which was otherwise beautiful. To the other folks, I suggest you do the same. read more

This is my new granite counter. I bought it from Home Depot and it was installed by Gerrity. The seam looked terrible so I asked them to make it looks less noticeable. These are the pictures after they "fixed" it. I sent these pictures to them and asked if they would be happy if this was in their home. According to Gerrity Stone, " it's our professional opinion this seam looks to be a 1st quality seam. In my opinion as as customer this seam is horrible. If you are looking for a company that does a good job and treats their customers with respect and believes that the customer's opinion has some merit I suggest you do not go with Gerrity Stone. read more

Worst experience ever do not use them!! I guess their gimmick is the "broken countertop" scam. They postponed our installation due to "damage" and was postponed another week. Then they came and it wasn't measured correctly so it didn't fit. Mark the manager said "it happens" and wasn't going to do anything, finally took $200 off which seems to be the magic price according to reviews. (I wish we read prior to working with them ‍) The installer chipped our new farmers sink and we were told management would be in touch the next day to work it out with us but instead they charged my card that the promised was only a formality and did not have authorization to charge and conveniently won't return any calls. I went through Home Depot to get my Granite counter top. They sent Gerrity Stone to do the work. I waited weeks after I paid to have the work done, as they forgot to tell me the granite wasn't in. They finally came to do the work and broke pipes under my sink. They refused to own up to what they did. I had to find a Plumber, and paid $575.00 to have the pipes fixed. I recently replaced a bathroom vanity and countertop and Gerrity Stone had the quartz I wanted. I had been warned that Gerrity was difficult to deal with, but I found just the opposite. Tonia and her colleagues in the sales department, the person who came out to do the templating and the installers were all very professional and helpful. The installers were also very neat and cleaned up before they left. The appointment for the templating was scheduled in a timely fashion and delivered and installed on the date promised (the whole thing took two weeks). We got countertop installed from them through Home Depot and they left with cabinet damage. I have one day before and after pic to show/prove the damage. They sent site manager to "inspect" the damage who was "onsite" but outside ion the car in the driveway! and goes back and says there was no damage when he was onsite! Well!!! First correct your employees - teach them not to slack and then take some responsibility of your business. The countertop seam was chipped too! I WOULD SUGGEST TO ANYONE LOOKING TO RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY - BECAUSE THEY SURELY DON'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER BASE - SPEND YOUR $$$$ WITH SOME REPUTED COMPANY. Their reviews are horrible from home depot customers! Good thing took the pictures day before to rest my case! See for yourself! They still didn't take any responsibility! The site manager only came inside to put the island and was sitting in the driveway the whole time and he was the one who came back to assess the damage and admitted that it could have happened during removal. FYI if they are forgetting, Gerrity Stone did the countertop removal as well not just the installation and for the long slab over that side the fabricator hammered and broke the Corian countertop for demo! Also that crack is exactly where the seam is done. The crack in the pic the day shows after pictures and clearly indicates the damage. I have a dated before picture as a proof because thankfully i took pictures the day before the installation! I am taking this up with Home depot because I am told by Sharon from Home Depot that they are not ready to take any responsibility of this matter. Good thing it is backed up by Home Depot! This is a genuine review. Do not do business with this company as you can see the response! it says it all :) A couple of points on poor customer experience is to say - When we went onsite Rich was half heartedly showing us the countertop and not very interested. Their lack of interest and responsibility is alarming. I am not surprised the company spoke with Home depot directly without involving the customer and decided to establish things THEIR way! BUYER BEWARE! Watch them like a hawk! poor templating, poor workmanship, terrible field crew (dirty and lazy)... so i purchased the home depot kitchen services, thinking that whomever they would subcontract would be professional and of high quality (design and installation). Gerrity Stone sent someone to template, i reviewed his template signed off the dimensions and luckily took pictures of what all countertops/islands were supposed to be sized to. they make you sign documents and don't provide you with a copy so def take pictures. Then they send their install team once the kitchen slabs were ready and from the start they had no clue what they were doing. Highly unprofessional, rude, lacked competence and lazy, 1. they hadn't read the drawings and wanted to demo pieces which they were not supposed to. 2. they were arguing about coring the holes in the sink which was written in the specs and drawings as something they would do. They were also so lazy that they were using the drill bit like a hammer, until i told their crew chief to get the actual drilling tool and attach the drill bit to core the hole! he angrily went to his truck and got the actual proper tools. he kept telling me that is done by the plumber when on the drawing spec it clearly said they would do it! 3. when they installed the kitchen island slab one of their crew members slapped his toolbox smack on top of it causing a scratch which i noticed much later on, complete disregard for customers property and dirty/messy workers. 4. once they installed after lots of oversight, 90% of the slabs were not the dimensions i agreed to on the day of the template and it took 5 months to sort it out with home depot from day the service was purchased till the payment was adjusted. their field manager told me that they have made errors like that with other customer orders so obviously it is something that happens frequently so watch out! if you hire them watch them like a hawk and take pictures of everything, they tried to tell me that the dimensions were right but thankfully i had the pictures i had taken on the day of the template and they had later changed the dimensions and were trying to pass it off as accurate, record all your conversations with them to ensure you have evidence, they may have been a good vendor in the past but their quality is sub par, save yourself the headache go elsewhere! read more

Gerrity stone rescued my home renovation project, by quickly reviewing the project, getting me an appointment to find stone slabs from a warehouse with a wide selection of the type of stone I wanted, and getting the whole thing delivered and installed in a few weeks. They were the sole vendor working with my Home Depot for stone countertops, for a new kitchen installation. I didn't choose the company. Anyway, they didn't secure the sink. They left clamps unsecured just through laziness or unprofessionalism. The sink began to fail, but I had no idea why. They said I needed to have a plumber come out and detach the plumbing before they could even touch it. They also told me that their warranty is voided by the placement of a garbage disposal under the sink, after their install! While I was trying to understand this, and make phone calls, the sink fell in the well. I managed to bail it out without leakage to my lower neighbor. Then I had to hire a plumber twice, once before they came out to reinstall, and once after, for total cost of $960. Their ins co will reimburse me for the fees. But I had 3 weeks of hell with no compensation for my pain. This is not a company that thinks it needs to do the right thing. Neither HD or Gerrity want to say what the warranty voiding means. But you have to understand: Almost everyone gets a garbage disposal. They are selling a service and product where they know most customers will void the warranty. Ask them to see their warranty and ask questions about it if you are going anywhere near this company, or Home Depot for that matter. You have been warned. read more

Had them install our quartz countertop through our Home Depot purchase of the material. They immediately started to rip out the old countertop with no consideration whatsoever of trying to avoid any damage that might result in their rush to get the job done. They cracked the backsplash in 3 places, put a dent in the windowsill, ripped the wallpaper behind the refrigerator, and split the inside on one of our drawers. When I complained to Gerrity's office, they said that "it's to be expected" and assumed no responsibility. I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere with them, so I marched myself down to the Home Depot with pictures of the damage and let them deal with it. After several weeks of back-and-forth phone calls, Gerrity agreed to compensate us a very small portion of what we owed on the balance. They did a Fantastic job! We visited their facility to select granite for a kitchen counter top and island. They had a vast selection of samples and full slabs as well as under mount sinks. Their staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant to deal with. The cost of the materials and work was very reasonable so we hired them. The fellow who measured the cabinet and center island layout did a perfect job as well as the install team. This was a particularly difficult layout as the walls were not plumb due to a settling of the foundation and the age of the home. Every aspect of the process was done on time. Their employees appeared in time, were polite, professional and worked quickly and effectively, cleaned the working area upon completion. The price was reasonable. My granite kitchen counter that I spent close to $4,000- on was made too short and my kitchen looks ridiculous. Gerrity refuses to remedy the situation or help in any way. The guys installing a backsplash have warned me how it will look off because the upper cabinet goes past where they ended the countertop. Yet here I am stuck with this issue and no one will assist. This is awful customer service and I do not have another four thousand dollars to redo this. read more

Overall not a great experience. Price was higher than expected, but there was back and forth negotiation akin to buying a used car. Once we were committed, unexpected fees started popping up, like needing an extra installer due to the large size, and a special order charge, despite going to their preferred stone vendor 10 minutes down the street. At install there were a few issues including modifying the stones in the street because they didn't fit, which resulted in large gaps. They also set my faucet and soap dispenser too far back, which leaves tons of soap and water on my countertop. I expressed these concerns and was told to expect a follow up, but that never came. read more

I told him what we thought we were looking for and I immediately discovered a "can do" positive approach that was both reassuring and inspiring. On my way to work I encountered a Gerrity Stone company vehicle. I was trying to merge for about 1/2 a mile and the employee driving the vehicle repeatedly blocked any space for me. He gave the illusion that I could merge, but would then aggressively hit the gas and break as I would start to make the merge attempt. This happened about 5 to 6 six times over the course of the on-ramp that had bumper to bumper traffic. I wanted to get to work safely, but your driver did not. If this is a testament of your employee's attitudes, I wouldn't expect them to be much friendlier as a salesperson. Company etiquette should extend beyond a showroom or a consultation, especially when your employees are driving company vehicles. I won't be contacting Gerrity Stone in the future, that's for sure. read more

Great customer service, beautiful workmanship. I was referred to Gerrity Stone by a work colleague and am very happy with the results. We wanted to replace a formica countertop with granite and weren't working with a kitchen designer or contractor. Gerrity sent a guy to measure what we had and he had some very good suggestions on a few minor design changes. We saved about 1/3 by using a stone style that was on sale. Gerrity is the best. We've used them three times: countertops in the kitchen, replacement hearth and facings for a fireplace, and a bathroom vanity top. Their selection of granite is amazing, and their input on what might work for your project is fabulous. They gave us samples to bring home and compare, which was very helpful. They measured quickly and thoroughly, the tablet guy explained a ton of stuff, made me feel confident with the quartz we picked out and made some smart recommendations. The Cabinet company that did my kitchen layout sent me to Gerrity Stone to pick out the granite countertops. We arranged an appointment with Brandon who took us through the warehouse and helped us pick out the granite. The contractor then arranged for Gerrity guys to come out and take the templates after the cabinets were installed. And the about 1-1/2 weeks later, the Gerrity guys came back with the granite and installed it. I have to say the overall design, fit, installation, quality of the granite couldn't be better. Gerrity did a great job (and worked well with my contractor). On note: I opted not to go back to Gerrity to pick out the actual granite slabs to be used, and so when I first saw the countertops installed, I thought that the granite was darker than the original sample I had, and possibly what I looked at a few months earlier when I originally picket out the granite design. So I would recommend actually picking out the slabs to be used since the stock changes and there will be variations in color. read more

Horrible customer service! I should have known not to go with them since it was nearly impossible to get a quote from them. Luckily my cabinet guy was able to get a quote. Our cabinet maker had to fax the drawings over to them 3+ time for the bathroom countertop and according to them, they kept filing it away. We are going into week 3 and still no countertop and has completely delayed our bathroom remodel. I will never use them again. I used Gerrity to do the stone for our kitchen remodel, and I would never go here again. The showroom is beautiful, they have a huge inventory, and they were very helpful in the store. Everything was great until I came home after they had installed my countertops. One of the big goals of redoing our kitchen was to create an eat-in space, and we wanted to achieve this through an overhang on the peninsula with stools underneath. When the man from Gerrity came to template, had advised me that an 8 inch overhang would achieve this goal, and I agreed. However, upon entering the kitchen after the peninsula counter was installed, it was immediately clear to me upon that 8 inches wasn't nearly enough, at all, to fit a person underneath in order to sit at the counter. Plus, they didn't even install an 8 inch overhang. They installed a 7-inch overhang. My husband and I both talked with Jim Gerrity himself and the blame game started. Regarding the 7 in. vs. 8 in. issue, he said that sometimes that happens, it's off by "a little bit." Despite the templeter having all the information when he came to template, sometimes things get adjusted the day of the install. Mr. Gerrity said that that was the contractor's fault and the contractor's job to fix. He also insisted that 8 inches is standard for an eat-in kitchen overhang, despite (I now know) google saying 12 is the minimum standard, plus it is seriously not humanly possible (and we're short and skinny) to comfortably fit a person underneath our tiny 7-inch overhang. The upshot is this: Based on Gerrity's advise and installation techniques, we did not accomplish a major goal of re-doing our whole kitchen. When my husband called, Jim Gerrity called him a liar and hung up on him, after informing him that he would never even take his call again or even talk to him. I then called, and he told me the same thing--he told me that my husband was a liar over and over, he twisted my husband's words, and told me that he wouldn't even talk to me. I'm a nice person and I will willing to talk and work something out, and he spoke to me in a way I've had few people ever speak to me in my life. He was demeaning. He did end up speaking with me for a few minutes, but during that time all that was accomplished was me hearing him insult me and my family over and over again, and then he hung up on me. I think it's a big risk using Gerrity. If they hadn't made a mistake or given horrible advise, clearly it would have been a lovely experience. If you decide to use them, and they happen to make a mistake--or if you're depending on them for advise--be prepared to be verbally abused and waste thousands of dollars. read more

Whenever I've had a special request for a slab that isn't readily available at Gerrity's location in Woburn, Matthew has directed me to stone importers throughout Boston with exactly the selection I was looking for. I have always has good experiences with the templating team, and the fabrication team has been able to handle complicated designs, with mitered/laminated edges galore... no easy feat! After several horrendous experiences with stone shops in the area, I'm glad I finally found Gerrity. They make my job so much easier!! read more

I am really happy with my countertops from Gerrity Stone. Steve was great to deal with. Marisa was very helpful in helping me make choices and helping me see the slab before they cut it. The man who did the template was excellent. Melvin and Anthony, the men who installed the counters, did a super job. I did wish GS could have given me a time earlier. Needed to change from a smaller under-mount kitchen sink to a larger top mount. I needed the granite counter top opened up to accept the larger sink. Gerrity Stone's price was reasonable and they were patient with me when I changed the appointment date. I bought the largest sink that would fit in the cabinet which means the installation had to be precise, no room for errior. The gentlemen who came to do the work were courteous and very professional. The alteration of the granite was well done and the sink was installed perfectly and in less time than originally estimated . Great Job. read more

My experience with the entire team at Gerrity could not have been more satisfactory. From selection of a product to the installation and follow up, things went as hoped. Point of interest, there was a minor defect in the shading of a corner on our huge island. After having someone come to check it out, they determined that the piece needed to be replaced. This was certainly more than we expected given the size of the slab. Mark assured us that they would not be happy unless we were totally satisfied. We agreed to his solution and the piece is being replaced as I write this note. Given her experience with previous interaction with Gerrity, my General Contractor was not at all surprised by their eagerness to resolve the issue.
