Took my truck in for cylinder misfires. They replaced a fuel injector and verbally told me it should fix it and that I'd know if it didn't within a few hundred miles. Didn't make it a mile down the road and the check engine light came back on. Looked at their paperwork and it said "other work is to be expected" and they did not mention that to me whatsoever in the shop. Charged me $500 to replace a part that wasn't bad and didn't even diagnose the true issue. Won't be returning. read more

They kept my jeep from me for about a week, I have school and work, I took it is because my door locks were going bad key word (WERE) going bad well after the week I got it back and the electrical locks don't work at all and my driver side lock seems to be backwards compared to my passenger side. They said they kept ordering the wrong part. WOW. Second they just flat up gave up on it and slammed all the junk back together BACKWARDS. First of all this place is honest. I stopped in because a place down the street said my frame was broken and couldn't fix a broken sway bar. Well I thought I should get a second opinion and Gerrys said.... Mt frame isn't broken and he most certainly could fix the sway bar. Down the street literally ordered the wrong part three times. Well Gerrys is super clean, offers free WiFi, free shuttle service, financing, pop, coffee, water, snacks and has a super nice waiting room with a 4K TV with the remote and leather furniture. Outside the grass and parking lot is perfectly manicured and has comfortable furniture with a table if you want to sit outside. I noted all the first place awards on the wall and would agree and the customer service is just as polite as you would ever want in a business. Definitely glad I discovered him and my family has a new mechanic now. read more

CAUSED MORE REPAIRS THAN THEY FIXED!!! Brought in my vehicle to have the alternator repaired. Apparently a mounting bolt broke sometime on Friday. I didn't find out until I drove to pick up the car (which wasn't ready). Then I received a call that they would not be able to repair it but had contacted a repair shop that could. They didn't have it towed to the new repair shop or pay for the cost of the damage they caused (or even a percentage of the cost to repair the damage they caused). STAY AWAY!!!! read more

I've used Gerry"s for a few things and have always been very happy with the service, the work and the overall experience. Gerry himself is a community-minded business man and it shows in how his place looks inside and out. Any way, today I showed up with an emergency issue. My trailer hitch had an adapter insert from the previous owner and it was installed incorrectly so that the holes were 90 degrees off. Anyway my band had huge gig in toledo and I needed to tow a trailer full of gear and found out an hour before that the hitch receiver was a huge issue. In a panic I drove to Gerry's. Within 5 minutes of arrival my truck was up on a lift and they had the receiver adapter on its way back in correctly. 3 minutes after that Gerry is refusing to take any money for saving my bacon and I'm on my way to hook up a trailer full of amps and lights. I was told that the people at Gerry's Service were honest so, I put em to the test. Had to have my car towed because it wouldn't stay running. Gerry himself called and said my MAF censer was bad. I can remember if the part was $60 or $80 plus $23 labor and a small charge for analyzing the problem but, he called back and said it appeared to be just dirty and he would just clean it if I were willing to try that. I have been taking my cars to Gerry's since he first opened. Not anymore. His charges have gotten progressively, and ridiculously higher over the years. Today he charged $300 for a piece of steel tubing that should have cost $30. He also charged me for "shop supplies" that he couldn't identify when asked. Sorry, Gerry. That is it for me. $500 is way too much to replace a single piece of steel tubing in the power steering that is easy to get to. read more

Happened upon Gerry's Auto Care as part of a Napa Repair center warranty claim. While on vacation, out of state, our fuel pump went bad and I had it replaced. That shop put the wrong fuel pump in, leaving the gas gauge not calibrated correctly. Gerry's was extremely easy to work with, friendly, fast and did a great job correcting the issue. While I do not live very close to Waterford, I may take vehicles back to Gerry's because of that. Highly recommend this shop based on our experience there so far. read more

I wish i didnt have to give them a bad review but i have no choice , so coming in i had a problem with loud noise coming from the front of my car so after they checked it they assured me no noise was in the front and that the noise was from the back, and i would have to replace all the rear brakes. skeptical,but realizing im not a mechanic i trusted them and proceed to ask them if they were sure this would take care of the problem, they confirmed ,charged me 400 bucks then i picked it up , noises still there, came back and after another checkup ,claimed to found the problem and offered another solution, but this time it would cost me an extra 600 bucks , I respectfully declined and proceeded to go to another garage for a quarter of the price which diagnosed and solved the problem completely right off the bat, if it wascustomer service alone, would be five stars but sadly costing me 400 bucks for no reason kinda upsets me read more

I have finally found a shop I can trust! This was the fourth shop I had taken my Jeep to in a 4 month period trying to get rid of a shake in the front end. I had spent literally thousands of dollars having parts replaced with no improvement in the shake. Some parts were replaced a second time under warranty since "sometimes ya get a bad part" according to the other shops. I was so tired of dropping my Jeep off and walking to work and not having the problem solved. When I went to Gerry's, he stopped what he was doing at the counter and looked me in the eye and actually listened to me! Then he gave me a ride to work and worked on my Jeep until the problem was solved! It took a few trips, but he offered a free loaner car if I needed one, so I never had to walk to work again. And the guys there are all friendly and polite and they actually care about doing a good job. I will be taking my 17 year old Jeep to these guys for the rest of her life! read more
