These guys are total pros and I'm so glad I found them. I took my truck in yesterday with no appointment for an exhaust issue that was affecting driveability. I was expecting it to take days to get to it, diagnose, order parts, install, etc. Imagine my surprise when they called me within an hour to explain their diagnosis. The price was very fair so I gave them the go-ahead to replace catalytic converters and O2 sensors. They called me back about an hour later to let me know it was done! On top of that, they didn't throw parts at it and ended up saving me another $500 by testing the O2 sensors and determining they were still fine. This was ~25% of the final bill and they could have easily told me it was needed. I appreciate their quick, accurate, and honest work. I will definitely be back! read more

I normally work on my own vehicles but have come here for a few things. They hooked me up on some exhaust work on a JK Jeep I was hanging an exhaust on and the inexpensive y pipe I bought wouldn't fit. They custom made some flanges for me out of scrap and I was really happy with that... if you know jeeps you know the flanges on the y pipes can come loose off roading and they kinda suck. Also, on a used tundra I bought, they fixed an exhaust leak and fixed a brake leak that Armstead in Holly failed to fix and made worse. I live at least 30 minutes from here now and am no longer in the area but will keep coming back because they are thorough and no BS. I'd rather pay more and fix it right the first time than have to return to fix something that was missed and do it two or three times, which costs more in the long run anyway. No hassle, no headaches, and I know it'll get done right here. I highly recommend this place if you feel the same about auto repair. read more

On 4-21-23 I took my jeep grand cherokee srt to have the exhaust pipes replaced and the factory srt tips reinstalled. Paid $420 bucks and it lasted not even a month before one of the heavy 5ich factory tips came off and went into the car behind me on the freeway. I had to buy a $380 chevy Malibu windshield and a used $40 srt exhaust tip since a new one is $220 EACH. I have now payed over $840 due to muffler man's mistake. read more

Except with over 100,000 miles, there are always potential complications. These guys were honest about what they found, made no guarantees about what it might require and set realistic expectations. They got my car right in and after inspection brought me back to show me what they found, I was given a very reasonable price and they even was able to do my full synthetic oil change and only took an hour and I was back on the road. I drove about 20 minutes to this place to have an exhaust put in after reading a positive review on Yelp. Well, I pulled into the shop without delay and they put my car on the lift, but not without first making a snide comment about the imported exhaust I brought. Once my car was lifted, the boss came out and took a quick glance at the exhaust I'd brought in--from across the shop! He mumbled something and went into the office. I looked at one of the mechanics with what was probably a WTF? expression and he said what I had was "garbage." Already a little frustrated, I followed the boss in and--after blatantly ignoring me by making a call while I stood there--was told they won't touch the exhaust because it wasn't new. He also said that if they wouldn't do it, no one else would. It was pretty obvious to me that he wasn't interested in my business and I felt disrespected by the whole experience. I came across this shop in a desperate situation. My fuel line had broke and I was dead in the water until it was repaired. The line had been worked on at a repair shop on the east side of Detroit a year ago. I was there on a Friday afternoon and had been turned away from 3 other places because I couldn't leave the car. These guys went to work almost immediately and soon had fabricated a new fuel line with a ball on it so the hose wouldn't slip off if the clamp failed again. This was a better design than the original GM part they replaced! They had me back on the road in about 20 minutes AND they were $40 cheaper than the former repair had charged and they used the correct clamps. I wished these guys were near me. Getting repairs done correctly and at a reasonable price is all I ask for. read more

They fixed my brake lines with zip ties. Who does that? No well run garage. They also broke my fas line then said it was rusty and that the broken brake line caused it to break. Now i drove it all the from the Detroit metro air port and it didn't leak a bit of gas until they got a hold of it. NEVER TAKE A CAR THERE UNLESS IT IS YOUR LAST RESORT. I chose Muffler Man Waterford based on reviews from others and I was not disappointed. My Subaru had a rumble that was not normal and despite being quite busy they had it looked at within 15 minutes. They showed us our car's super rusty exhaust pipe with a large hole near the muffler. Looked like a time consuming custom replacement to me but they had it done and we were back on the road in just over 30 minutes! Great guys, fast service, good price and we are very impressed. I took my car in with an engine light on and they ran a test for free and told me to try a few things before doing a serious (not free) diagnostic test, which cleared up the problem.
