The property itself is very clean with nice decor (little robins scattered around the house). I loved the blue walls with contrasting brown linens. I will say that the rental is a lot larger than what I had pictured based on what I saw online. Major plus! When you arrive (plenty of parking), you go right around the house, following the signs for Robin's Nest. Shortly after we arrived we were greeted by one of the owners, Trace. He had A LOT of knowledge to offer us given that he was a former park ranger for Yosemite. I'm telling you, he knows everything about the park- best times to go, what hikes to do, where to get the best views, etc. Tell him what your goals are for your trip and he'll help you create the perfect itinerary! We did a hike, Clouds Rest, which we hadn't quite planned for, but turned out to be the best hike we did. Anyhow, you enter the building and there's a closet with beach towels for you to use for either the pool or the Merced River (ask where to go). You'll encounter the bedroom and around the corner is the living room, equipped with TV and tons of space. You'll also see the bathroom (with towels, soap bar, shampoo/conditioner). The kitchenette includes microwave, toaster, sink, coffee pot and dishes for you to use. There's a table outside to eat if you want some fresh air, otherwise, there's 2 bar stools you can eat in the kitchen. There's also an outdoor grill that you are welcome to use if you choose to make something. The rental comes equipped with A/C and heater depending on temps. As for the bed... I thought it was comfortable. After hiking the entire trip we were sure glad to hit the sack. We were out... Cold. They also have Wi-Fi you can use which was super helpful since we had NO reception with T-Mobile in the area. There are local eateries only minutes away, but be mindful many close early and if you make it a long day at the park, you'll have to hit the grocery store instead. If you're planning a trip to Yosemite, this is the place to go. Probably more suited for couples than a trip with kids. Most days it took us about 2 hours to get into the park because of the 2 lane, slow, windy roads. It was worth the drive though, because after a few hours in Yosemite, you will be glad to get away from the crowds. Robn and Trace are the perfect hosts for your stay!! We were able to hike in Yosemite using the YARTS bus system ($30 round trip) & came home to a freshly made bed & homemade cookies every night after hiking all day. Liz made us a delicious breakfast at 8:30am (although she did ask if we wanted it earlier) & we caught the YART into the park at 9:15- hiking by 10am. Our hosts were fantastic, the room (top floor) was HUGE & definitely cool- even on a 95 degree day (those other reviews are ridiculous- Liz had no issues keeping us comfortable- in both AC use & shade for breakfast). On the last day of our trip the YART busses didn't show up for our trip back & Ron rescued us from the park late at night (we were literally stranded in Yosemite). I will say If you are in your 20s, looking to party this isn't the place for you. If you are a recluse not wanting to socialize, this isn't the place for you. But If you have 4 kids & plan on leaving them at home- this is totally worth it. In every aspect. My husband & I played scrabble at night with white claws & listened to the river... we slept in... someone else cooked for us...we hiked all day & came home to a cozy bed & friendly faces. Ron & Liz are definitely "chatty" as some have mentioned in other reviews, but you're staying in their home- so we felt it was all apart of the B&B adventure/experience. A Disappointing Stay: Misleading Claims and Little Regard for Guest Comfort…read more We paid $350 per night for three nights at this property, and unfortunately it was not worth the cost. In hindsight, we wish we had given more weight to the one star reviews before booking. We were also struck by the pattern in the owners' responses to negative reviews: rather than acknowledging the feedback, they tend to respond defensively toward the reviewer instead of addressing the underlying issues. **Dietary Accommodations** One of our party has celiac disease and cannot eat wheat. We informed the owners of this by email in advance and again upon arrival. No accommodations were made; instead, we were told about a friend of theirs who also has celiac disease. This turned out to be moot in any case, since breakfast was not served until after 8:30 a.m., too late for guests heading out early to hike. Guests leaving before then were offered only one cereal option, presented in an unlabeled plastic container with no way to confirm it was gluten free. Given that breakfast was included in the room rate, we did not feel we received what we paid for. **Room Temperature** Upon check in, we were told that California law requires thermostats to be kept at a minimum of 78 degrees. Our second floor, southwest facing room was extremely uncomfortable in 105 degree outside heat, and we were advised to leave the door open and use a fan, which did not resolve the issue. We researched this claim afterward and found no such mandate for private residences or businesses. California's Flex Alert program, which recommends 78 degrees during grid strain, is voluntary and time limited, not a legal requirement. When we asked the following day whether the temperature could be adjusted at night, the owners told us they were comfortable at that setting and suggested we take a cold shower before bed. As paying guests at a premium rate, we expected a reasonably comfortable room regardless of the property's utility costs. **Overall Impression** We have traveled extensively, including all 50 U.S. states and destinations across Europe, South and Central America, and Africa, and this was an unusual experience. Based on what we were told about the thermostat policy and our overall treatment as guests, we would encourage prospective visitors to read the critical reviews carefully and to weigh the owners' responses to them accordingly.

Eddie greeted us upon arrival and walked us around the area, showed us local sites, and gave us local secrets about the area. We found out about Bass Lake and never would have known what a great local place it is. We stayed in the Cedar room and it exceeded our expectations. The room was a good size, huge bathroom and little mini fridge. Double doors opened to the outside and we had the main door that opened to the hallway. Our room was at the very beginning so no noise at all. The AC was cool and the fan was quiet. We enjoyed the bed and breakfast concept and mingled with the other patrons while we were there. I always choose the SEQUOIA ROOM... which will blow your mind: superb decoration, every detail is beautiful, the bathroom is huge with a double shower and comes equipped with anything you could ask for... the bed is amazing and besides you have a sofa bed and and extra bed for more people. You like to watch cable in bed? yeah... every room comes with Satellite TV and flat screens. Like if this wasn't enough.. you have free wifi of course, a F1 grill if you like bbq'ing and a HUGE deck if you want to just sit down and stare at the beauty of the pine populated mountains. Super quiet place, clear skies... just 15 mins away from the entrance of Yosemite park. I think its a must to give this place a chance. After booking our stay this time, we called with a few questions and were given helpful information from a couple friendly receptionists. Once we arrived, check-in was quick, and much appreciated since we were exhausted from hiking all day in Yosemite. We hadn't been to The Miner's Inn for over 10 years and we were pleasantly surprised to see the updated room that we received. It was nice and clean, had fantastic amenities (fireplace, jetted tub, and a larger than usual mini fridge), and the bed was comfortable for our stay. The breakfast offers plenty of wonderful options for all of the varied needs in our family. During our stay they had: waffles, toast/English muffin, biscuits & gravy, sausage, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, coffee, juice etc. it was always the perfect way to get started before an active day. We always travel there with a cooler and they had plenty of ice available as well. We prefer to take the 140 to enter Yosemite, so this gem before our drive along the Merced makes for the perfect stay!

I mentioned that I was looking forward to taking a nice long bath (little did I KNOW at that point that the rooms contain gigantic jacuzzi bathtubs!). The clerk said a glass of wine would go well with that. I asked, "Where can I buy wine?" Hee hee. It turns out, the gift store is like a Trader Joe's wine shop! They had a zillion choices! I selected a bottle of Chardonnay that I enjoy. Cost? FIVE BUCKS!!!! They even opened it for me. They had all kinds of very cool stuff to buy (including the basic stuff you always forget, like Tampons and Advil), but I resisted, until I saw their "sale" t-shirts. I got a very pretty peach colored "Yosemite" t-shirt, tastefully done with small flowers. Again--FIVE BUCKS! Much of the time, when staying at hotels, one can be sort of at their mercy if you want to buy something you forgot or purchase a souvenir. And usually if they have trinkets, they are horribly over-priced. But THIS store had it ALL, and they had DEALS. Oh! Yeah! They are open 24 hours too! What more do you WANT?

We stayed at Posada Mariana recently (second week of July) for one night. Wow, there are so many…read morewonderful things to be said about this bed & breakfast. The proprietors, Rob and his wife Mary Ann, are kind and wonderful people. They were helpful with directions, local dinner suggestions, and ideas about exploring the local wilderness -- even before we arrived! They welcomed us with big smiles and made sure we were comfortable. Our room was charming and pleasant (the Vallarta room), the beds better than home. The bathroom was incredibly clean, the shower the best EVER. Breakfast was delicious and included sausage, eggs, yogurt, granola, fruit, croissants (toasted!) and fantastic coffee (much needed). Conversation with the other guests about travel adventures was really enjoyable. Posada Mariana is a gorgeous Spanish Colonial home, complete with a courtyard, fountains, trees, a pond with fish and running water, and best of all, an INCREDIBLE view and location. We didn't use it, but there is also a beautiful pool & spa and bbq area. We did very much enjoy sitting on the patio and looking out over the valley while the sun set. And then the next morning, after breakfast, we sipped our coffee while sitting on a quaint bench on the edge of the property, enjoying the sounds of nature.
