Pretty great place! We stayed here before, last year on our Yosemite trip. It seems to have gotten better. Last year, I would have given it three stars. Our room was exceptionally clean, and the noise level is very low. Extremely comfortable beds, hot water, and great AC units. Fridge was cold and coffee machine worked great. The only things I don't super love: the included breakfast is pretty horrible and the parking is kinda tight. Overall we had a decent experience here. The rooms are nicely renovated and brightly lit, though the bathroom is a touch dated. We went during the off season so the price was reasonable. Older motel with good interior updates. The room was large and the bed was extremely comfortable. The carpet, linens, and furniture were all in good condition. Mini fridge chilled our beverages well. A few dings on the bathroom door and one of the hooks was broken, and the pool appeared to be out of order, but otherwise this was a good and clean experience and we were quite satisfied. This is the second year we have stayed at the Yosemite Inn. The service we have received has been excellent. The rooms have been very well kept and clean, we have all the necessities including some instant coffee, a fridge, an ironing board, a microwave and a hair dryer. Last night, around 9:10ish, I didn't have any utensils for my food. I called the office in hopes they had some spare. They gladly offered several utensils and brought it to my room right after, Maddy was kind enough to bring it to me and even complimented my PJ set. This morning we went for some coffee that they offer. The front receptionist was kind and welcoming. It is safe to say that I would definitely recommend this spot, It has become my favorite place to stay at. read more

I was told this was where we were staying and by the rating, I was expecting worse. It's motel-y with all the room access outdoors. They offer free breakfast out of their breakfast room. The pool is heated but it didn't feel like it. There's a spa near the pool but there were always people in it. The room had a fridge and TV in it.. the toiletries like the lotion, shampoo, and conditioner were lined up on the counter but it was weird because there were multiple bottles of some. I think instead of leaving one full bottle of each, they left the bottles from previous tenants plus a new bottle. But the room was surprisingly decent than what I had expected per the yelp rating/reviews. read more

Ok... when you're desperate... you just have to suck it up. That's exactly what the S.O. and I did. We need a place to stay to survive a rafting trip as well as Yosemite... done. From the outside... it is really creepy. The parking lot is small and the spaces are tight. S.O. checked in and he came out with a remote that's wrapped in saran wrap... no joke! We walked in... surprisingly the room had a flat screen TV that's wall mounted so it can be viewed in different angles. But that's about the only good thing about this place... Bathroom: the toilet is freaking tall! My feet hangs like I'm twelve all over again! The shower head is for kids! S.O. and I aren't tall but we had to bow to make use of the shower! There is no hangers! None! So when you're down showering... where do you hang your towel to be "eco" friendly... by the shower rod and that metal atop the toilet. The AC kept breaking in and out... it was pissy. And yes... it's not cheap... it was pricey! Honestly, we know that it wasn't the Ritz but for the price that we paid, hangers would at least be nice? My reservation was made by hotel.com for three nights. The rooms are a good size unfortunately dirty. Our surprise was the second night, when we returned from the park and found the room not cleaned. I went to the Inn administration and the receptionist told me that no rooms had been cleaned that day because they were short staffed.  She was embarrassed but that didn't solve my problem, when I told her that at least provide us with clean sheets and towels for us to clean.  She offered to take out the trash and provided us with clean sheets and towels. Also informed us that she did not guarantee the room would be cleaned the next day and we were free to check out at the moment but they would not credit us on the last day. The receptionist was embarrassed. I told her, miss, it's not your fault. The staff is kind and friendly but that will not make me stay there again.  My eyes dropped when I saw behind the nightstand and there was dust and nails behind it. They also have a camera in front of the tv. Next time I'll have to do some research before reserving a room. I do not recommend this hotel even for free. read more

I stayed here a few days after the 4th of July, I booked through hotels.com after reading all the glowing reviews and seeing beautiful images, they claimed a pool, spa, free breakfast ect. The room was a nice size and those images were accurate the rest of the property however was not as advertised. If I had read no pool and no breakfast I would have booked a different hotel, without amenities it was it was completely overpriced. I spoke to the front desk and the polite young woman said the manager would call me in the room shortly. 2 hrs later no call, as I was checking out the clerk told me there would be a 10% discount applied for the lack of access to the pool and breakfast. What a joke, it was a 105 degree day and a dip in the pool was what I was there for. When I returned how I saw that I was not given a 10% discount but charged an additional $300 !! I called to ask why I was double charged and the clerk told me it was a cleaning fee because the room smelled like smoke... we had a baby in the room and we are both non smokers!! When I went to do a review on the Hotels.com site I found no way to actually leave a review and all the reviews there were only the positive ones. Shame on you Yosemite Inn for your lack of hospitality, your lies and deception. I cannot recommend anyone to stay here. read more

I can't speak more highly of the customer service and kindness of the staff. Truly does not get better than this. Our rental car broke down on our check out day and not only did they extend our check out time until the car could be taken care of (which took hours!!) but they drove us to/from the one car shop in town and they helped us navigate how to best address the issue. They made an extremely stressful situation so much better and I am so appreciative of their understanding and hospitality. On top of this the room was spacious, clean and quiet- and they welcomed us at check in with Hershey kisses! 10/10 stars from our kids! read more

Best Hospitality, Teresa at the front desk was very welcoming and one of the nicest persons I have ever encounter. As we arrived around 9pm with a temperature of approximately 30 degrees, she made sure the heater was on in our room and it was warm and toasty. She made sure we had extra towels and anything else that we needed. The room was clean and neat. Teresa even brought us hot chocolate and made my eight year feel special. She informed us of the local parade and local Diners. Unlike other hotels, Teresa really made us feel like we were family and not like we were staying in another hotel. We stayed at Yosemite Inn for one night since a couple of the major roads to Mammoth were closed due to weather. Unfortunately there is minimal cell internet connection while driving around Yosemite and we quickly just pick this location since it's a relatively close drive back to Yosemite Valley and the price is reasonable except for the fact they charge you $8 for wifi and you will need it since there is no reception in the inn. Upon entering the room, everything look fairly standard and relatively clean. I did find a stray hair in the tub, which was a bit disgusting but otherwise was clean to the naked eye so I just rinsed the one bit of hair down the drain. However when I decided to use the microwave, the unit was not cleaned and slightly oily around the front panel. The inside smelled heavily of left over cinnamon buns... gross... It was getting late and we were exhausted from driving around the block roads so I had little energy to complain and after getting cleaning up, went to bed. Woke up the next day, prepared for another day's adventure. There was a minor itch but I didn't think much of it and left... this is the mistake... after getting home, the bed bug bites really started to flare up and become unbearably itchy. We called the Inn and asked for a manager only to be told he would not be back for a couple of days. I present the situation to the clerk over the phone and although he was calm the whole time, he immediately dismissed our bed bug bites as something we got while hiking. I explained that the bites occurred only where skin was exposed so both feet, arms and face! How is that possible!@#&@!! Check out the photos! After a couple days, I called back to see if the manager "Emjay", not exactly sure how to spell his/her name, but was then told the manager would not be back for a few weeks! A female clerk then proceeded to say the same thing, and that since we didn't report it when we left there is nothing they can do. She continued the conversation essentially saying whatever she told her manager, would be final so there is not point in waiting or speaking with Emjay. I already knew this would likely happen so just had our credit card company reverse the charge especially once I saw reviews here on Yelp and TripAdvisor, I knew our case isn't an isolated incident... I'm not saying every room is bad, but if you decide to stay here, be diligent and check the beds for bugs. It's absolutely torturous to get these bites and then try to not scratch at them as it will cause permanent scaring. Plus, getting bite on the face is not fun... once the bites flare up, everyone will just stare at you thinking it's potentially an infectious disease. read more

This was a pretty miserable stay. My brother in law had reserved a room for me so I could be up with the family for Thanksgiving. The first and worst problem is that the owners are extremely rude. They are foreign and have a bad attitude towards people that are their guests. The woman who ran my brother in law's card apparently didn't do it right. I had been in my room for 2 minutes when the manager banged on my door and told me that the card didn't work. I told him that my bil did it and what room he was in and to take it up with him. He walked away and just said go get him. So we did, and they ran the card correctly. No apologies or anything. My TV did not work but I wasn't going to call and ask them to fix it after how rude they already were. My shower leaked and so was loud all night. The ac randomly turned itself on through the night, even though I had shut it off. So I was woken a few times by that. Now I see why it was unplugged when I got there. The walls had scratched paint everywhere that there was furniture. The towels were ripped and very scratchy. The furniture was stained. They had a hair dryer but it wasn't mounted and the cord was in the sink, possible safety hazard. I had read there were bedbugs in other reviews. I got lucky in that regard. I booked 2 nights here for a quick Yosemite getaway with 3 others. It isn't typically the type of place i would give 4 stars too, but given the other reviews on this place, I nada fine time here with zero problems and would stay again. I originally booked it bc we decided at the last minute for a New Years in Yosemite, and this place has a room available with 2 queen beds for a total of $256 for 2 nights. Bam.. Booked it. As we were driving out and getting closer, my copilot looked up the reviews and read bed bugs!!! We freaked out, tried cancelling the reservation but couldn't bc it was already 5 hours after check in time. We tried to book elsewhere bit everything was full. We were about to make plans to sleep in the car closer to Yosemite bc we did NOT want bed bugs!! When we checked in, we asked the guy at the desk if he had resolved the bed bug issue. He went on about it being lies and said if we had a problem with the room we could cancel at no charge. So we hesitantly walked in and immediately started searching the sheets, even lifting mattresses, the place was spotless. We found absolutely nothing wrong. We unpacked, settled in, the beds were comfy, sheets were very nice, the shower was hot. The heater fired up and the fridge was Ice cold. If you're looking for a spectacular room with amazing views, keep looking. There is nothing spectacular about this place, but for what it is, this is as good as it gets. The price is right. It's located at the east end of Mariposa which is a super adorable little town. We ate breakfast at the sugar pine before our hike which was awesome! And then we had lunch there the following day after checking out. Did a little wine tasting at the place down a couple blocks. Had a pizza delivered to the room. The 4 of us really enjoyed our stay in Mariposa and we were perfectly happy with the Yosemite inn. read more

TL;DR Rude to kids, racist toward Asians I am the parent of a 7 year old boy. My son was being a kid and asked the receptionist about bedbugs, as I told him about the prior reviews. She was a younger woman, and she did not seem upset with him for asking. An older woman walked in as we were having this conversation and she proceeded to stand directly in front of my son with a rude and intimidating manner. I thought I was imagining things. I looked at her and she did the smile-with-her-mouth-but-shoot-daggers-from-her-eyes racist white woman thing. I let it go, but I wish I wouldn't have. Such is the Asian experience in this country. She then said, "You should take him to the park." I asked her what she meant, thinking she meant Yosemite NP. She said she meant the playground, with a rude and dismissive tone. This is code for saying my son was too excited for her tastes. He is 7 years old. Kids have energy. My son got uncomfortable and got worked up. The older woman and the younger woman proceeded to laugh, but not in a way that people do when they think a kid is cute. This was a thinly veiled malicious laugh, one that is easily explained away if I were to ask them to stop being rude. Minorities know what I mean. I played it off. I wish I would have said something. To my son, Lee: I love you and you are perfect. I am sorry for not standing up for you in this instance. To the older woman, who indirectly dictated to the younger woman how she should behave based on her own behavior: you should be ashamed of yourself. Whoever treated you badly when you were younger was wrong, and this is not an excuse to treat my son and I with such contempt and scorn. Power dynamics are far reaching, extending into simple things like checking into a hotel. The room itself was ok. There was a peanut on the floor, making me wonder if the floor was vacuumed prior to our arrival. There was a small breakfast included, and no, I am not talking about the peanut I just mentioned. No pool access from what I noticed. 5th Street Inn was 30-40 dollars more expensive, but the stay was pleasant as was the owner's attitude. read more

I sadly did not look at reviews before staying here. The bedding didn't look clean, luckily my husband and I brought extra blankets and pillows. The toilet is loose and moves every time you sit down on it. The shower head is super low so you have to lean way down just to get your head under the shower head. They charge $8 per day for WiFi, they say "per device" but my husband and I were able to log in with the same password, so don't pay for the WiFi for more than one person. There is no safety lock on the door. Also, you can hardly move on the bed without it sounding like it is breaking. I would say the price of the hotel is not worth what you get, I have stayed at way nicer hotels for the same price. read more

This review is for our stay from 9/28. Based off the other reviews, I'm assuming this place was recently sold to new owners and/or renovated. This was probably one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in at Mariposa. We're frequent travelers and have stayed in Mariposa several times, usually booking the cheapest hotel every time. After reading several mixed reviews online, we decided to pull the trigger as this happened to be the cheapest hotel for that weekend. To say the least we were very impressed. Staff were friendly and they allowed us to check in early. Inside and out, the place looks totally renovated and modern. From the paint to the floors, the room we stayed in looked like everything was stripped out and replaced. The toiletries were pretty high quality and the hotel had amazing high speed internet. Parking is a little odd, but doable. If you have a large truck or SUV, you may have issues with parking. read more

I am not sure how this place is allowed to exist. We were desperate to find housing near Yosemite, and when we got there, realized why there were such terrible and horrifying reviews for this place- they are all true. This place is not only infested with bed bugs, but the owners are extremely rude. When we got to our room, we found hair on our bed, we found a spider web on our bed AND lastly, we found a bed bug on the mattress. It was disgusting. We went to the lobby to let the owner know- and he said "I don't believe you!" when I told him what I had seen. He came up to the room, and still was in denial that they had a bed-bug issue. Instead, he said that people like us were just looking for excuses to get a refund. It was ridiculous. After he saw the bed-bug, he pressed it with his finger, to confirm it was real- and blood came out! We had booked two rooms at this place- and had found the bed-bug in one, and they refused to give us a refund for both rooms, not realizing that there was no chance we would stay at a hotel that even had a single bug, or was overall so dirty and gross. We had lots of back-and-forths with the owners- and they continued to be extremely dismissive and rude towards us- and even threatened to call the police (which makes no sense because we were not at fault). We told them they could call the police - because what would the police do? We had done nothing wrong, and just wanted a refund because they had $400 for two rooms (which is an insane price for a room that is dirty and has bed-bugs). Please avoid visiting this place. Even if you need a place to crash before getting to Yosemite, stay further way. It's not worth it. read more

Wow. My first negative Yelp review ever. Usually I only leave positive yelp reviews... preferring to save my energy to share positive experiences. But after staying here I was seriously considering at least leaving a cautionary review to let people know what to expect if booking a room here. Then I logged onto Yelp and saw the other reviews.... Yikes! Not sure if I came across any bed bugs.... the unit seemed generally clean except for the AC which was dusty and gross. And the "Do Not Disturb" sign was gross.... I didn't like touching that. But what I feel I need to warn potential guests of is the litany of poor hospitality issues that made this an unpleasant and unsavory experience. The mattresses are cheap, springy and soft. You get two tiny pillows. The AC unit was incredibly loud. So either you can sleep in the heat, or sleep with the noise. There were blackout shades only. So no opening the shades to let some light in unless you wanted no privacy. There was NO COFFEE. Not in the room, not at the front desk. When I stumbled in there looking for coffee I was told a stern NO. No apology, helpful pointers about where to find coffee in the area.... nothing. I hope these folks can get their act together. I'm sure anyone reading Yelp will pass this up. I imagine they get bookings mostly from Yosemite bound folks in peak summertime once absolutely everything else was booked. If you're looking for a place to stay while visiting Yosemite National Park, I would not recommend this place. Just a lot of small inconveniences that provide a bad overall experience: -No free wifi, ($8 per night, also I have AT&T and there was no service at the hotel so we couldnt even use data) - We booked a deluxe double queen room for 4 people and got charged an extra $40 for having more than 2 people - Bathroom was in poor condition, there was just a hole in the ceiling where the fan should have been -T.V. was extremely hard to use, and on top of that had a grand total of about 5 watchable channels. - We were only given 1 key for the room for 4 people read more

I have to add my voice to the concert of discontent about this place. I didn't have good expectations, having read some reviews on another site, but still booked here because it was the only place available within our price range. The place is filthy. They just don't clean. When we open the beds we found HAIR inside it. I went down to the reception (it was a bit late at night) and the guy there gave me one sheet to make the bed. Not two sheets, no pillowcases, didn't offer to come make the bed for us, no apologies whatsoever. The rest of the room and the bathroom were equally dirty. We slept with our clothes on and with our own towels over the pillows. I would never book there again even if there wasn't anywhere else to sleep within a 50 miles range. I'm telling everyone I know who wants to go to Yosemite to avoid this place at all costs. read more

I'm not sure what was in the room, but I woke up with bites (that graduated to welts over the course of the day) all over my legs, butt, arms, hands and face. I can sleep almost anywhere but am thoroughly grossed out imagining what was feasting on me while I slept. I tried reaching out to the hotel various times for a refund but have received no response. Additional concerns: - the room quoted 2 queen beds but they were definitely not queen sized (likely full) - there was no coffee maker in the room - we had to pay cash for wifi service which only worked on one device - the bathroom fan and the AC unit are very loud and impossible to sleep through For all of these reasons, I think the $100+ price tag is quite unreasonable. read more

This was the most horrible Hotel stay ever. We checked into The Yosemite Inn in Mariposa,CA on 09/28/17. That evening we went to bed. I woke up about 3 am itching and thinking that I must have got bit by a mosquito. I went back to sleep. But when I woke up later that morning, I saw a bug running across my pillow. I looked under the sheets and found many bugs moving. I captured many of them and took pictures of them and I kept one, which I have in a zip lock bag. I noticed that they were also in the bedspread. We packed our belongings and checked out at 10:55 am. I told the hotel clerk that there were bed bugs in my bed. He said that I should have let him know earlier and that he would have changed rooms. I told him that I did not realize earlier when I woke up the first time at 3 am that they had bed bugs, since I went back to sleep. Also I did not realize that I was bit at that point either. We thought he would cancel the hotel charge but he would not. So we paid and checked out and left for home not planning to ever return to that Hotel again. We did not know that we were bit at that point. About an hour later I noticed a red mark on my leg. A few hours later on our drive home, I noticed that my legs, arms, neck, back, hands, wrists, toes and feet all had horrible bites. I have many pictures of the bed bug bites. They were so uncomfortable and itched horribly. My legs got infected and I called the advice nurse who told me to see my Dr. I visited my Doctor on 10/03/17 and he diagnosed me with Bed Bug bites. I had to pay for my Doctor's visit and he prescribed me 3 different medications. The infected bite on my legs hurt so bad and had pus in it. I had trouble walking on that leg and had to use a cane. The discomfort would not allow me to attend my class reunion. I had to throw away many of my belongings that I had taken on our trip for fear of infestation. I found bed bugs on my gloves, jacket, shoes and on my suitcase. This encounter has caused me much grief, pain and fear of staying in hotels. My son also got bites on his stomach. . I have reported this horrible experience to a few different web sites and the chamber of commerce and the Mariposa visitor's center located across the street from the hotel. They told me that particular Hotel had a history of Bed bugs and that I should report them. read more

Do not stay in Room 108 or 109!!! I stayed there and got over 50 bedbug bites. The headboards are attached to the wall, and that's where the bed bugs hide. The bed bug bites have been so bad that I had to get a prescription steroid and have been up for several night because of the itching and pain. I called management to tell them that they need to get the guests staying in the rooms out ASAP, and fumigate and disinfect. The manager yelled at me on the phone, interrupted and hung up on me. I am in the process of contacting the Health Department. I am also a law student and am thinking about filing a lawsuit against this hotel for negligence. For an Inn pretty pricey, but this was a very last minute weekend idea, so on that account understandable (and was on 4th of July weekend, so busy). Overall, great 2 nights of sleep, was a little stuffy, but brought my Scentsy plug in warmer. You're not staying at the hotel all day when especially in Yosemite anyways... For an Inn was surprised for a flat screen there in the room, that was cool. The people who worked here over this weekend were really hospitable. Breakfast was nothing fancy, but free & all you really need so can't complain. There was coffee, juice, and cereal in their corner cafeteria room. I recommend. read more
