The hotel is very functional and did the job, but the sheets were dirty and it was kind of ran down and not very luxurious to stay. It was a tad dingy and the Wi-Fi was horrendously bad. The hotel was mediocre, definitely not anything special but it was better than a Motel 6. Our bed sheets that we were using did smell musty or maybe it was just the room We went in the pool and jacuzzi and it was very nice! Jacuzzi got really warm and had the water jets working nicely. The pool itself was a good temperature as well, not too cold or hot. The breakfast was fine too, there was a waffle station, eggs, juice (cranberry & orange juice), some bread with a toaster, and an oatmeal station. It was all decent and kept getting refilled consistently. The staff were good and smiled whenever we came into the lobby so no complaints there. read more

I have really mixed feelings about this place. I am a Choice Gold member so I have stayed at a decent amount of these. Our room was decent, but it needed serious upgrades. We had a drawer on the nightstand that kept opening by itself and standing water in the bathtub. Breakfast was mediocre. Would I stay there again? I would try something different. read more

Room was tiny but was clean except carpet always left out bare feet blackened with dirt, and Kleenex holder fell off wall. We arrived at around 11pm in the night of 12/18/25. This place felt like a horror movie right upon getting there: the parking lot empty while the more expensive hotel across the street FULL. At check in, the receptionist was totally unfriendly. Did not smile; did not welcome us and seemed to be bothered because I was trying to confirm the directions he had indicated about how to get to the room. When we got to the room we found a blood stain on the white sheet which we took pictures of to show receptionist. Receptionist immediately insulted us by implying that it was our own blood! He said "I know about blood and this looks bright red to me." I said cut the BS, what are you trying to say? He replied, "don't you course at me or I'll throw you out of this hotel!" I said, "why would I come all the way here to complain about blood stains if it was my own?" He replied, "to get new sheets!" I was like, "what????" He handed me a set of sheet and said, "here you go, you can change them." I immediately drove across the street to the Best Western and luckily they had a nice clean room available. We came downstairs and checked out. I explained the situation to the incoming receptionist, but she said that there wasn't anything she could do since I booked through Booking.com. I contacted booking.com at around 2:30am and they said they will speak to hotel. Eventually, booking.com said they didn't get a resolution from hotel. So we lost our money!!! What a feeling of impotence to receive this kind of treatment and service in the United States of America and there is no customer service department to complain to and the super billionaire company that made the reservation (booking.com) is not ultimately liable either! Lacking in customer service Robyn was on the verge of rude and indifferent when she refused our reservation because we told her we had a service dog with us. She never asked what the dog was for and said the manager was unreachable and kept saying we can't let you in the room with a pet. Luckily my husband was on it and immediately looked for another place since we weren't in the mood after driving all day to explain to this person what the law is. My concern was to get my points back since it was after check in time so I called Choice Hotels and they said they tried to contact hotel manager but we're unable to. They gave me my points back and apologized and said they would deal with situation later and unfortunately I needed to find another option for the night. We were lucky and found a awesome Airbnb but it was 45 mins in opposite direction back where we came from. The cabin was way better than a small hotel room so it all worked out but WARNING this hotel is not worth your time. I did notice after the fact they say they are not ADA compliant and only have a few rooms with accommodations since there are stairs etc but nothing about no service animals. I asked for a business card to contact the manager at a later date but was told they had none. I like this place. This past weekend is the third time I have stayed there. It's got a great location set away from the noise of highway 49/140 while still being in easy walking distance of downtown. The prices, at least during the off season, are very reasonable. The free breakfast is adequate, with the typical muffins, cereal, bread, waffle maker, rounds of sausage and eggs, etc., but almost no fresh fruit. For this weekend, they had some small oranges that were kind of bitter tasting and nothing else. My room was nice and quiet, but the wall power outlets were damaged so when I tried plugging in my phone or laptop chargers, they kept falling out and not staying in. The fan in the bathroom appeared to be broken. It made a tremendous amount of noise, and the lightbulb in the center wobbled back and forth. Would I recommend this place? Yes! It's a good value, great location, and IMO the drawbacks are minor, but this is NOT a five star hotel. I think next time I'll bring or buy some berries or other fruit for breakfast. read more

We are staying at this hotel and the front desk lady was SO rude to us. Her name is Jo L and she treated us like we were intruding her own house, instead of giving us the best service that a hotel person should give us. We were just asking her about breakfast because on their website says it and she was just snapping at us, by saying that it says on the website that there is not breakfast. UPDATE IT THEN!!!! I paid $160 for one week night at this hotel during the summer season. I have paid less for more in terms of facilities and amenities, but the price here doesn't reflect the hotel. It reflects its LOCATION, outside of Yosemite National Park. The staff was helpful and friendly when we checked in, the room was dated but clean. There was a functional flat screen TV with cable and a small coffee maker, but no microwave or fridge. Good water pressure in the shower, but we kept those short in respect of California's water shortage. It was a short walk (albeit with one steep block to navigate) down to the mini-downtown area with shops and restaurants. Be aware that if you spend a long day at Yosemite, your dining choices will be limited if you try to get something to eat after 10pm (there is always Burger King, alas). Decent but not great Wi-Fi is free (I am typing this review from the hotel), as is the breakfast. If you have moderate expectations, you can consider that $30 value bundled into the high price of the room. I don't know that I would stay here again as I would explore other options somewhat closer to the park (Oakhurst), but if this was my only option, I wouldn't complain. read more

This place was okay. If you're going to hike Napa, you obviously don't need a five star hotel. But the price definitely reflects proximity to the park not quality. It's a solid hour into the park entrance. Solid hour- I saw someone post it was 20 minutes. Absolutely false- even going over the limit, it's an hour just to the entrance. The staff was all very friendly (except the lady with short dark hair). We stayed here the first few days it opened after Covid closures. So- no pool, no hot tub, no hot breakfast, no coffee and no room cleaning. You had to go to the lobby to get clean towels or toiletries. I understand these restrictions but if 100% of your advertised amenities aren't available, I'd expect a discount. read more

We checked in here on our trip up the 49. The price point especially with our AAA was great. No problem with my service dog. The room was clean and comfy. I was very pleased how roomy and how close it was to even walk to eat. I had an issue with the t.v. No problem called the desk they came right away and it was unplugged. The staff was friendly and helpful, giving restaurant suggestions which was perfect. Outside area needs to be touched up a bit. That's why it has only four stars. They are rerouting. There are suites available which is great and they give breakfast. Looking forward to checking that out. So if your looking for a clean comfortable nights stay check in here. For the area it's not bad I don't expect much else. We went to Yosemite for just one night since it wasn't a bad drive from San Jose and decided to stay the night. We had already pre booked our room which that process was easy and the price wasn't so bad either. However when we checked in towards the evening after visiting the park it wasn't so pleasant. The room was so outdated and the bathroom seemed like it was used before we got there we just decided to leave and drive back home instead of staying the night. "Quality Inn" is a misnomer, it would be far more accurate to name it "Poor Quality Inn". The facilities and quality of the rooms and amenities were substandard. The price is diametrically opposite of what you should get for the price. Amenities such as wifi were non-functional. Housekeeping did not clean the room. Staff came with attitude and did not address problems. There are much better (and less expensive) alternatives in Mariposa. Would not recommend. read more

Website and front desk will tell you they serve breakfast and will even give you a paper with breakfast time highlighted but they do not serve breakfast. They just have small Otis muffins and coffee. No daily housekeeping available if you are still checked in. They will just clean room upon check out. If you need to exchange used towels for new ones, go to the front desk, which closes at midnight. They have a whiteboard by the front desk with all these long notes on their changes during this pandemic but would have been nice if these are updated on the websites and reception speech as well. Appreciate that they have automatic email reminders for Yosemite requiring reservations and front desk hours. read more

Exactly what we were looking for. It was a good price, given the prices of other hotels near Yosemite. It was clean, quiet, had ample parking, staff were pleasant and to top it off the breakfast was very good. There were eggs, sausage, fresh waffles, fruit, yogurt, juice, cereal etc... I hate to leave a review like this, but am left with no other option. My husband and I booked a night here for our trip to Yosemite, which unfortunately we had to cancel due to Coronavirus. We called the hotel many times and it always went straight to voicemail, with no mention of the location being temporarily closed and no courtesy email to us notifying us that the location was closed/our reservation was canceled, by default. We ultimately found this out when we called Choice Hotels Corporate, who were extremely unhelpful on all 8 phone calls we made to get our money refunded. We were passed around by every associate, nobody taking ownership of the situation. It's been a month and a half since our first phone call - the hotel is still closed and we still do not have our money back. Our reservation date has now come and gone. We had to cancel reservations with other hotel chains due to the pandemic, and all other hotel chains handled this unprecedented situation efficiently and with professionalism. Quality Inn and Choice Hotels fumbled this, and we got a glimpse into the disorganization and unprofessional service. We will not be staying at Quality Inn and Choice Hotels in the future. read more

Room is a bit cramped, at least there's a large tv, a desk but if you're sitting in front of it there's no room for anyone else to walk, and the shower curtain that doesnt stick to you like glue, the room we got's toilet seat was loose at least it worked. The pool is nice and popular late in the evening. Free WIFI, and CATV. PS, check your room nightly for mosquitoes before bedtime. Stayed here for two nights. It is about 50 miles from Yosemite Park, but the drive is beautiful! The town of Mariposa is super cute, it feels like it stopped in time 30 years ago. The room was extremely clean. The bathroom has no windows, and it smelled fresh from our arrival to our departure. Comfortable king bed. Staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Didn't get 5 stars because the free WiFi was very spotty. read more

They weren't very accommodating (ie we needed handicap access and they put us on the second floor) and the room felt like box with a closet-sized bathroom. The room was decent and clean when we arrived. But service was really disappointing. We were not informed that there would be no maid service at all in the rooms due to COVID-19. So trash piled up and beds were unmade. Also, in place of advertised free breakfast, small zip lock snack bags of junk food was given. The AC in the room was very loud and turned on and off throughout the night, but it was so hot in the room that turning it off was not an option. TV remote did not work. Room is musty, smells like it's wet or something, restroom smells like the curtains were washed but not dried so they smell stinky. The carpets have stains, there we're nasty marks on the wall which I believe to be food or coffee stains. I HATE is that check in isn't until 4pm!!! I've never heard of a hotel having such a late check in and I'm from Nevada, we have a ton of hotels here... so they want us to check in at 4pm and check out by 11am. Really? They need to at least make check in at 1. Mini fridge but no microwave, very dusty in certain places. If this hotel could talk it would say, "I've fallen and I can't get up." Management and staff seem to care less about meeting your minimum expectations for a $200 a night hotel 40 miles away from Yosemite. Can't blame Covid 19 on this place. List of disappointments: 1. Old busted up ice machine outside has not been repaired properly missing drain tray with sharp homemade metal piece. 2. Lobby run down from 1970's remodel looks dirty. 3. Continental breakfast as part of your stay package was consisting of terrible coffee and poorly labeled coffee servers with a few small unwrapped apples on a plate with some instant oatmeal in a bowl with cheap vending machine muffins. I'm not sure what continent they were thinking of when they called it a continental breakfast. 4. The room had a large carpet stain as soon as you enter, like you may find in a $50 room. 5. Many hairs in the bathroom and sink area on tray with your water glass and on toilet paper roll, as well as lampshade on bedside table. 6. Can see light around most of the door in our room next to the highway. 7. At checkout clerk did not ask if we enjoyed our two day stay. List of positive things at the Quality inn Mariposa: 1. Mini fridge was cold. 2. Room a/c worked well. 3. Pillows were not flat. This was not a quality experience or a value at the price. This place needs a suggestion box. We stayed at this Quality Inn on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 11 and 12. It was the worst mattress so we didn't get any sleep for 2 night. The directions of where the room was was not clear and we had difficulty finding it. Never got to the complimentary breakfast since it was over before we got home after a terrible evening. We booked this room for one night, and ended staying for two. The staff were very friendly. The location is great within the town of Mariposa (it is quite small, and easily walkable), and also situated about an hour away from Yosemite. They didn't 'have refrigerators in the rooms, but they did have a community refrigerator that you could use. The best perk was that they had a washer and dryer for guests. If you stay there you should also eat at the Happy Burger Diner (see separate review!) read more

My family and I come every year to Mariposa. We usually stay at The Mariposa Lodge but a friend booked the rooms for the Comfort Inn instead. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! My sister woke early in the am with BED BUG bites covering her head to toe. We looked thru her bed and found the bugs. We even kept one for proof. Her bites where so severe that she had to go to the doctors immediately and he told her it was pretty serious and put her on medicine for 9 days. Besides the disgusting bugs, our room was dirty when we checked in and the front desk is incompetent. They booked a family in our room and gave them a working key! Was a completely awkward. Our towels where folded up damp as well. I would not recommend anyone to stay at the hotel. read more
