I laughed, cried, cooked, bathed, relaxed. I got accustomed to the cursed noises that the radiator makes. Got used to the dull knives and the many light switches around the house. I went to bed after a long relaxing bath, and woke up to the trees as my first view. Get dressed, put on my boots, got firewood, and put on a crappy pot of coffee so that I'm prepared to do nothing for the day. Point is, this place has personality; however, you feel free to be yourself. This place is not perfect, but it is great! It sleeps 6 people. Only 2 miles away from the southern entrance of Yosemite. Perfect for family & friends to disconnect from the busy life of the Silicon Valley and go out into the woods. You'll have to bring your own food and drinks, but the kitchen is fully stocked with all kinds of equipments - an amateur home cook's dream! I had absolutely the best time here and definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs to disconnect from the world for a brief moment and just breathe in some fresh air.

We did not have to cook our dinner over a campfire. So that was a plus. The food at Jackalope was pretty good. We ate there two nights. And in many instances, the people working there were absolutely lovely, helpful, and professional. One night there was a wait for dinner, and the woman at the front desk delivered an armful of games for us to play in the lobby while we waited. The place is a maze, and staff were very helpful the many times I lost my way. However, the quality of service was inconsistent and we found so many little frustrations throughout our time there that I don't think we will be coming back. For example: we did the climbing wall, which was fine. But nobody was cleaning out the helmets that kept being used by multiple kids. In one of the handouts, we read that there was Pickleball, but when we went to do Pickleball, there was no Pickleball. I went down to the spa and was excited to read about yoga classes, but then learned that there were no yoga classes. Beds were comfortable enough, but the hotel was kind of loud, with kids running up and down the hallway. That said, this is a decent enough place if you're looking for a hotel near Yosemite, there aren't that many to choose from.

It's places exactly like Tenaya Lodge that changed my mind. Tucked away in the fantastically-forested Fish Camp, Tenaya provides luxury and comfort in a way that is not at all ostentatious. Check-in can be hectic as two receptionists serve the entire place, but all the staff we encountered seem like they genuinely want to help, and the valets always got us our car in under five minutes. Our standard room is quite roomy and has a small balcony for watching birds and bats while we breathe in the warm mountain air. The pool situation is super, and every day we choose our own adventure between indoor and outdoor, both of which are heated. The indoor pool plays movies in the evenings, and I must say, Lego Batman exceeded expectations. There's even a climbing wall and an archery range, and my favorite, the nightly roasting of marshmallows around the fire pit. We had a blast. This resort has a whole vibe, the kind where kids can kid and adults can adult, and everyone can just enjoy themselves, mere miles from America's most beautiful national park.

The homes are beautiful, spacious, and stocked FULL of amenities. Although both homes were located in quiet neighborhoods and felt secluded, they were very close to grocery stores, restaurants, thrift/antique stores (the best i've been to), and national parks/trails! Every room felt neat and clean. The bathrooms, carpets, and the jacuzzi at our second stay felt well-maintained and hygienic. The wi-fi was great and the TVs were super easy to navigate. There was also never a worry of running out of towels or clothes because of the washer and dryer! Great homes ran by even better people. Gailyn and Adam have the best team. They're very warm, welcoming, and inviting. They're consistent in letting you know they're there if you need help and/or have any questions. They're reliable and quick to respond. I cant wait to go back!

They are very personable and genuine, something rare in today's world. They really do care about the guest experience and homeowners, which has been truly refreshing. I can't recommend them enough. The…read morestay itself was fine, but about two weeks after checkout I received a $150 damage claim accusing me of leaving a "large dog urine stain" on a rug. The issue is that I did not travel with a dog (I had a cat and paid the pet fee through Airbnb), and I had timestamped photos from during my stay and at checkout showing the rug in normal condition. After reviewing the information provided by both sides, Airbnb determined that the claim was not eligible for reimbursement, so I was not charged. For transparency, I've included the photo that was used to accuse me along with one of my timestamped photos taken during my stay. My advice to future guests: take timestamped photos at check-in and again before checkout, especially if you are traveling with pets. Documentation can be very important if a dispute arises later.

They did send a repair man out tried to repair of the steps into the water with a string, how does the string hold the weight of a human being? Top step broke while my sister was on it. Bam - down she went and was bruised all over! Me - I fell on the steps from the patio, The third step was broken and was tilted downward so when I stepped on it down I went! Our hosts were fantastic, the room (top floor) was HUGE & definitely cool- even on a 95 degree day (those other reviews are ridiculous- Liz had no issues keeping us comfortable- in both AC use & shade for breakfast). On the last day of our trip the YART busses didn't show up for our trip back & Ron rescued us from the park late at night (we were literally stranded in Yosemite). I will say If you are in your 20s, looking to party this isn't the place for you. If you are a recluse not wanting to socialize, this isn't the place for you. But If you have 4 kids & plan on leaving them at home- this is totally worth it. In every aspect. My husband & I played scrabble at night with white claws & listened to the river... we slept in... someone else cooked for us...we hiked all day & came home to a cozy bed & friendly faces. Ron & Liz are definitely "chatty" as some have mentioned in other reviews, but you're staying in their home- so we felt it was all apart of the B&B adventure/experience. A Disappointing Stay: Misleading Claims and Little Regard for Guest Comfort…read more We paid $350 per night for three nights at this property, and unfortunately it was not worth the cost. In hindsight, we wish we had given more weight to the one star reviews before booking. We were also struck by the pattern in the owners' responses to negative reviews: rather than acknowledging the feedback, they tend to respond defensively toward the reviewer instead of addressing the underlying issues. **Dietary Accommodations** One of our party has celiac disease and cannot eat wheat. We informed the owners of this by email in advance and again upon arrival. No accommodations were made; instead, we were told about a friend of theirs who also has celiac disease. This turned out to be moot in any case, since breakfast was not served until after 8:30 a.m., too late for guests heading out early to hike. Guests leaving before then were offered only one cereal option, presented in an unlabeled plastic container with no way to confirm it was gluten free. Given that breakfast was included in the room rate, we did not feel we received what we paid for. **Room Temperature** Upon check in, we were told that California law requires thermostats to be kept at a minimum of 78 degrees. Our second floor, southwest facing room was extremely uncomfortable in 105 degree outside heat, and we were advised to leave the door open and use a fan, which did not resolve the issue. We researched this claim afterward and found no such mandate for private residences or businesses. California's Flex Alert program, which recommends 78 degrees during grid strain, is voluntary and time limited, not a legal requirement. When we asked the following day whether the temperature could be adjusted at night, the owners told us they were comfortable at that setting and suggested we take a cold shower before bed. As paying guests at a premium rate, we expected a reasonably comfortable room regardless of the property's utility costs. **Overall Impression** We have traveled extensively, including all 50 U.S. states and destinations across Europe, South and Central America, and Africa, and this was an unusual experience. Based on what we were told about the thermostat policy and our overall treatment as guests, we would encourage prospective visitors to read the critical reviews carefully and to weigh the owners' responses to them accordingly.
