Especially classes with Kris, Hannah C, Hannah Z and Tonya are always highly encouraging easy to understand and make it easy for anyone even beginners to feel comfortable to ask questions and talk to. Having been here since it opened, I would recommend this place to anyone (and already do!) For someone who has lived in Sacramento for 13 year now, I KNOW this gym has everything you'd need and there isn't others like it. Update:their 100 Class Celebration is much appreciated !

Nobody explained the gym rules or gave me a tour, so I didn't know bags weren't allowed on the floor. Courtney approached and politely explained the rule, and I had no problem with it. I told her I was almost done and would be leaving shortly. About 10 minutes later, Adeline approached me aggressively and said "you were told to get your bag off the floor." I explained Courtney had already spoken to me and I understand. So then Adeline said to me I could either "get my bag off the floor or leave the gym" So I left. I wasn't even the only person with a gym bag on the floor, yet I was singled out and ultimately told to leave over something so minor. I escalated this incident to the manager Rhiannon and she said, "Well, what are you looking for?" For a gym charging around $189/month, I expected much better customer service and professionalism. Management should address how customers are being treated. Enforce the rules, but in a respectful manner.

Personally, I'm more of a Zumba gal so this style of dance was really out of my comfort zone and I didn't know what to expect. First time in, and the drop-in price for the class was $15. While waiting for the previous [full] class to finish in that room (Zumba), restrooms were all the way down the hall and they also have an Elkay water bottle filler. There were at least two or three more rooms in use for youth/teen classes, and folding chairs along the hallway for parents/spectators too. There were less than ten people total in the class by my estimate, and it is once a week recurring. It sounded like the past two weeks they were working on choreography moves, but this evening Joe wanted to focus on a basic skill tutorial/demo -- the Wave! The arm wave is one of the coolest foundational illusions in popping, where you make your arm look like a ripple of water. After a warmup meditative movement set, he really broke it down step by step, practicing each position, first a cappella then with music, slow first then sped up, then added variations/flair. Isolating each joint is the key: fingers/hands up, then pop wrist, elbow up, pop shoulder up, chest, then once at opposite shoulder, reverse the path down the other arm! He also showed us a trace wave transition into a body wave, popping the left knee, then right knee, hip, chest, head, then trace back to the arm/hand. You could even do the arm wave at shoulder level, down at your waist, with both arms parallel, or point at each pop of the body wave. He also showed us the difference between waving out versus waving in. One water break pause during the hour, but otherwise it was fun to learn and follow along. The class after us was Beg/Int Contemporary Fusion 8pm, then Heels at 8:30pm. For adults they also have Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Line Dance, Fierce Funk, Soca Dance Fitness, Stretch Fusion and Sculpt & Define. https://step1danceandfitness.com/pdfs/Adult-schedule.pdf

I first…read morejoined for the Boot Camp and TRX style classes but found that my 50+ year old body was not responding to that so well, even though I was loving the workouts, so I decided to swap out a workout day for a day of yoga instead. I was intimidated at first. I have some, but not a lot of experience with yoga and the idea of doing it in a heated environment made me nervous. They have 60- and 90-minute classes. I started with the 60 min Yoga Basics class which is not a beginner class necessarily, its challenging for sure, but sticks to the more rudimentary poses and movements. It's a great class for all levels and the heated room was actually very nice. I was concerned I would feel like I was suffocating but that was not at all the case. It felt great and I was totally sweaty by the end of class. It's a damn good workout and everyone is very supportive and friendly. Since I've incorporated yoga 2 days a week into my regular routine and dropped the hard work outs down to only 2 days a week I'm feeling MUCH better. Less injury, more bendy, and continued to increase my strength. Bean and the gym staff are all great at what they do. Heather and rest of the yoga instructors are wonderful as well. I'm loving UFF and the range of options they offer! The only thing that I would warn anyone about is they are not super great at providing instruction in the boot camp and TRX classes. Most of the members are fairly experienced athletes and there's a lot of assumption that everyone knows what they're doing and what weight they should be using. In a class of 20+ people they don't have a lot of time to coach an individual person. I am not shy and will almost always ask for help if I'm not sure, but not everyone feels comfortable doing that. I can definitely say that when I have asked for help, I get wonderful feedback and assistance. If you're new at this type of fitness you can schedule a one-on-one with a trainer to help you sort out a lot of things ahead of time, so you don't hurt yourself during a class. 10/10 highly recommend!

I let the instructor know about my injury so if she seen me take it easy or go slow, she knew what was up. She was so supportive and understanding! The other members of the class were friendly, chatting to one another before the class and saying hi to the newbie, me. One of them helped me get my shoes attached to the bike since I didn't know how and another helped me with the bars. It was a collaborative environment of strong women which was amazing to be in. I am a plus size lady and while I dont let that stop me from being active, sometimes I feel like an outlier size-wise. But in this class there were women of all sizes and shapes and everyone was getting their workout on and having a blast! I love how we all sang at the end of the session- this class was the definition of a fun group class environment. Great value for the class and everyone should try it.

I recently moved to Folsom & was looking for a place to lose baby-weight. After reading the…read morereviews on Yelp, I decided to give Superwomen Boot Camp a try. Now I'm hooked on SBC (Superwomen Boot Camp)! Here are some things that set Superwomen Boot Camps apart and why you should also give SBC a try today! Your first class is always FREE, so there's no reason *not* to try. * FRIENDLY: Val (the owner & main trainer) sets a friendly vibe throughout SBC. At first, I was a little weary of being an "outsider" of the close-nit SBC community. But all the women were very friendly & I soon felt like a part of the family. * INDOOR: Other bootcamps in the area are at local paks, which is subject to weather. You can reliably show up to SBC even when it's raining. However, this doesn't keep Val from doing cardio drills with occasional jogging (or walking for non-runners). * ACCOUNTABILITY: During your first month (and even afterwards), Val does weekly weigh-ins at the end of each week. This allows you to see your progress! * PROFESSIONAL: Before having my baby, I worked 10+ years in the fitness industry (teaching aerobics/Pilates/spinning/etc). As a fitness professional, I can vouch that Val is the real-deal. He knows how to kick your butt, but also provide safe alternatives for various fitness levels & injuries. * NOT JUST EXERCISE, ALSO NUTRITION. Val explains that a bad diet can sabotage your workouts...so he provides some nutritional guidance to get the best results. * RESULTS! Val helps you get results! This is obvious by the before/after pictures that line his Wall of Fame. * FITNESS FOR WHOLE FAMILY! They have co-ed (Supermen) and kid (Super-Kidz) versions too....not just, Superwomen for the women. * HI-TECH: Val is always trying to keep his members up-to-date. He sends weekly emails with words of inspiration, which reminds you that you CAN change your life for the better. And he's there to help! If you send him an email, he usually replies within an hour (very quickly). Give it a try today, you won't be disappointed! (Tell Val that you read it on Yelp)
