    I would rate 6 Stars if Yelp would allow!…read more Several friends had highly recommended SHPT (Somerset Hills Physical Therapy) so after my total hip replacement they were my first call for outpatient PT (and only call). I had never had any type of surgery before my hip replacement so to say I was apprehensive heading into therapy would be an understatement. From my first consultation to today, the staff has been incredible. From scheduling appointments to dealing with insurance they took care of everything, so I could focus on rehab. My therapist has been not only incredibly knowledgeable and demanding (challenging me to push myself to regain mobility i had not known for almost a decade) but patient. At 41 with 2 young children I now have a second chance to participate pain free in their lives. I was very fortunate to have a great surgeon, Dr. Harlan Levine. But without Somerset Hills Physical Therapy my outcome would never have reached the level it is today! I strongly recommend Somerset Hills Physical Therapy!

    I dislocated my shoulder in a weird accident. It did it again a few hours after it was back in…read moreplace and had to wait to get back 24 hours to get it back in. Torn labrum. Decided to do PT instead of surgery. Somerset Hills was fantastic in getting most of my mobility in place. With scar tissue and another issue now with my shoulder, I have to do something else with my doctor. Not Somerset's fault, just a result of the injury. I will go back after the procedure. The care was excellent!

I've been an athlete and fitness junkie my whole life - soccer, capoeira,…read moretriathlons etc. By the time I met Kris I was no longer interested in exercising for the joy of it I wanted to look amazing, I wanted abs. :) I had worked with a trainer at Equinox for over a year, 3x a week and saw no change in my body comp and I hated the workouts. They had me running endless stairs and rowing and even with all of that I had no definition or tone or shape. I was slim with no real muscle or as Kris would say "skinny fat". I told Kris I don't care how you do it but if I am going to spend the time, money and energy I want to see results. I didn't realize what I was unleashing. Kris came into our first session on a mission. And, to be honest I wasn't ready for it or maybe I just didn't believe it was possible. I said, "Slow your roll Kris I am not trying to get jacked I just want to look not soft." After three months of managing her expectations and doing about 30% of her program, I began to see results and decided to turn over the reigns to Kris entirely. She had me start drinking a gallon of water, kept a food journal (for years I was terrified of anything white - fries, rice, flour). I tried to tell her that I am Puertorican. I have an heroic metabolism. She didn't care about my stinking excuses. After a month I pretty much was on my way to being jacked. My body at 37 was better than when I was 24 and doing triathlons and bootcamps. I had abs. I had caps. I had no back fat. Everything was lifted. Mind you, Kris should come with a warning label. Don't break open lest you are ready to unleash the awesomeness. We worked together 3x a week for almost three years and I was in the best shape of my life. She is also really kind and funny and can help anyone get into shape. I referred Kris to my least athletically motivated friend who wanted to get ready for her wedding. In 90 days Kris helped her lose 20+ lbs. Part of Kris's gift is her ability to stand for your potential and your goals no matter where you are starting and when all you want to do is eat french fries. I love you Kris. Thank you!!

    I can't say enough good things about Tara! When I started training with her, I was a little…read moreoverweight, sluggish and in denial that my physical health was starting to slip. Even though I was generally healthy and active, my back and knees would ache with even light exercise. Tara helped me realize that I needed to address the underlying causes of these pains instead of just pushing through them like I used to. We started slowly, incorporating physical therapy in my workouts to strengthen my problem areas without aggravating them. Now that I'm stronger, Tara keeps challenging me with diverse exercises that push me to keep improving. Life has its ups and downs, and Tara is always flexible and ready to adjust our sessions to meet me where I am when I walk in the door. We've also been working on my diet. Tara has helped me to adopt a practical meal plan to lose a little weight. We made a few easy adjustments to my eating habits without sacrificing the foods I enjoy. I've already lost over 10 pounds! I'm so thankful for Tara's encouragement, guidance, and support in helping me become the best version of myself. I feel more confident, present, and comfortable in my own skin. A lot of trainers will do the same old workout with you day in and day out. Tara found out what my goals were--to lose 15 pounds, improve my back strength and rehab my hip injury. She not only tailored a plan specifically to these things, but she continually updates our workouts based on new things she learns about my body and how I respond to exercise. She knows a lot about body mechanics, anatomy, proper nutrition and she seems to have the ability to understand what I can absorb in the moment. She's patient, flexible and absolutely driven to help me reach my goals. I have already lost 10 pounds since working with her. I have more muscle. I'm more toned. I feel healthier and stronger. And we are really just getting started. Tara works with lots of different people--all ages, genders and health levels. She meets people where they are. I cannot recommend her enough.
