This is the first time in my life (I turn 50 next month) that I have actually stuck to a health program . I say health because belonging to GIS is helping me to feel and look healthier than I have been in years! I havent lost a ton of weight, but I have lost some weight and more than that Ive lost inches. Im down two pant sizes and I have so much more energy. My Doctor is thrilled because my sugar and cholesteral have dropped dramitcally, just from the exercise. I still have aches and pains becuase of problem knees and other assorted issues, but Andy and Michael are so carefull that I dont get hurt and I still get a good workout. Linda is sooo supportive and between all three of them I feel like Im finally getting some control over my body and life. All those diets I've tried, exercise video's, and dirty crowded gyms........Im finally in a comfortable place with other women just like me. The program does take time but you will start to see results and you will start to feel better. Plus you know your doing it all in the most healthy way you can. Eating real food and staying off the couch AND having fun while at he gym. Yes I said fun. ............so much so, I just signed up for another year!!!! I'm not sure that I can add much to the wonderful reviews already posted. I have been with the program for only two months and have just signed up for a full year as I can't imagine life without it. I love the camaraderie with the other women and Linda, Andy & Michael are phenomenal. Even better is the presence of the owner who is genuinely invested in the program and committed to helping clients get results. As with some of the other writers, I have tried programs like Curves , Exercise TV, etc, etc. Get In Shape pulls the best of everything together for a program that is safe and effective. I am a healthcare provider and know well what happens after years of self neglect. You only get back what you invest so plan on giving yourself to the hour three times a week. Hello, my name is Mary, When I started going to Get In Shape For Women .My leg muscle's were weak and I was over weight . In the process of gaining strength I have lost over ten pounds and about five inches off my waist, Linda was alway's there to answer any of my question's , how to meet my goal weight , question,s about dieting and the best foods to eat. Linda will answer any question's with a smile on her face. When it's time to exercise the men Andy and Mike are alway's there to help me . They alway's help every one exercise the proper way, using the proper muscles and they relize everyone has a diffrent exercise capacity and will go to your limit . It is coming up to my yearly anniversary at get in shape for women. it has been the best thing I have ever done. When I turned 50, my body changed, not for the better. I could not believe what the ads were promoting so I checked it out myself. A year later I have lost 14lbs but better yet, the trainers have transformed my body into a size 6 which I have not seen since before my children. I feel so much better about myself, I am wearing different clothing to show off my hard work and I am eating better than I have in years. I think the Danvers studio is super-charged by a staff that exemplifies support and commitment to clientele. The very dynamic and insightful manager, Linda, and the knowledgeable ever energizing trainers, Mike and Christina transform our personal training sessions into a "personal wellness hour" focused on fitness, nutrition and positive attitude to promote our individual goals. I second Kristie's review. I am stronger, my balance is better and I am losing weight. The staff is so helpful and we discuss all of the weight and cardio exercises before I do them so that I will not hurt myself. And it is fun to see and meet new friends who are there for the same reason I am. The emails Linda sends seem to come at just the right time and they are filled with support kind words, and helpful suggestions. I joined this Get In Shape for Women a little over a year ago. I have lost 20 pounds and I am down 3 pant sizes. But more importantly I feel so much Stronger, Healthier, more Flexible and Empowered. The Staff and Trainers make you feel very comfortable and tailor the workout to your ability and goals. It is a great program for Women of all ages and abilities. The Nutritional Counseling they offer you is life saving. I could go to any gym but choose to stay with them! Everyone is so nice and the Environment is fun and upbeat. I would definitely recommend! The trainers are knowledgeable, encouraging and take into consideration any physical problems, which is most important to those of us in the 70+ age range. I love GISFW. Linda Ford the manager takes a true interest in all of her clients. She is readily available in the studio, by phone or by email. I started at this gym 2 years ago and it has changed my life. I am a type 2 diabetic and my numbers were not very good. My last reports have my A1c in the normal range!!! It is amazing how great I feel and I know I look better too. The staff is the greatest and it is the best place I have ever worked out.
