I was nervous at first, but I told the instructor Keona that it was my first time, and she did a great job making adjustments for me and teaching me core techniques. The class was very rigorous, but I felt amazing and accomplished afterward! They had gloves available to borrow, and we used a mix of bags and weights in the class. Going again soon, and can't wait!

Hip Fit just moved its location from the UWS to Hell's Kitchen, and the new studio is fantastic -- spacious, airy, lots of room to throw punches and practice kicks. I highly recommend this if you've either done kickboxing in the past and are looking to get back into it, or if you're brand-new and want to try it out in a supportive environment.

You don't need your own lock, and the bathrooms were stocked with a lot nice products to freshen up post class. Hit House really pushed and challenged us - it was a really cool experience to try out their unique Bishop punching bags. A great workout and I loved how I didn't feel like I was pressured to buy more and buy a membership after our class. Tip: if you do the kickboxing & flow class (yoga) grab a towel so you aren't slipping on the fitness mat for the yoga portion of the class.

It's 16 weeks for the first part, but after that,…read moreyou are binded by contract to pay month to month unless you do 3 days a week of working out at the gym during the 16 week program. You can only freeze your membership twice during the entirety of your contract. If you don't work out 3 days a week during the 16 weeks, you are unable to cancel your membership, resulting in you paying month to pay for a whole year. Just make sure to read the entirety of the contract before proceeding to workout at this gym. I would recommend doing the month to month membership that way you aren't tied down. It's 129 dollars plus tax per month. I would recommend going a normal gym that's 10-30 dollars a month that has group classes that are part of the package.
