You can feel the DMs town vibes and coziness as soon as you walk in. The front seating area has a piano and seating and tables. The coffee bar is in the middle and they offer seasonal items such as Apple Crisp Latte (which was delicious) & S'mores mocha. There were pastries and scones and cookies as well. There is beautiful art all around for sale. Different nick naks and magnets and key chains and bags and soap etc for sale. And some adorable crocheted animals too. A fire place greets you after the coffee bar with 4 very comfy chairs. And behind that you can do downstairs where all the books are kept with tables and chairs and couches. And upstairs is a Longe area with more chairs and tables and couches. A perfect place to meet and catch up with family and friends or to study and enjoy a nice place to hangout. I wish this was in my town, I would be there every day! Def a must!

We stopped in Cabin Coffee on our way out of town for a little pick me up for the 6.5 hour drive…read moreback to the Chicago area. Cabin Coffee is a cozy little western-themed cafe, with a wide variety of breakfast foods, pastries, and baked goods. They have a decent coffee menu as well, with alternative milks such as oat, coconut and almond for an extra 85 cents. The staff was extremely nice, and patient with not only my toddler, but my mother who orders slower than the speed of molasses. I appreciated that our order took some time to pull together, as that typically means your food is being made fresh, not reheated from frozen like a well-known overpriced coffee shop that we are all familiar with. I ordered a classic vanilla late with oat milk, and The Sundance bfast burrito. My mom ordered a large mocha something, The Longhorn burrito, two chocolate scones and my daughter ordered a chocolate chip cookie. The 7 items were only $36! Shocked. The latte was a little sweet, and took me awhile to finish, so if you don't like sweet, definitely tell them to hold off on a pump or two of syrup. The burritos were a good size, and mine kept me full for the entire trip. My daughter loved her crunchy chocolate chip cookie as well. Great vibes all around, and pretty decent coffee.

I liked the atmosphere and food. However I'm giving it one star because I didn't like the service…read more It was a normal breakfast rush and there was one lady working the cash register and coffee and one guy in the kitchen, but she seemed overwhelmed by the crowd which wasn't even a long line. I asked for an iced coffee and a muffin with peanut butter on the side. I then simply asked "can I please get my muffin toasted?" And she looked at me like I had ten heads. She looked so confused like I had just asked her to solve a math equation. At first she said huh I've never heard of that before, I don't think I can do that and I explained to her that I just would like it cut in half and toasted in that toaster. She then said she could do that (yeah it's not that hard...) and ten minutes later (yes it took forever to get our order) she came over and brought it to me and announced out loud to everyone "what a weird request" with such a judgemental look on her face. AND she didn't even cut it and toast it! It was still whole and barely luke warm which means she probably just stuck it in the microwave for ten seconds... Is toasting a muffin that outrageous of a request?? Maybe it is in Iowa. I just thought it was very rude and she made me feel dumb for even asking for a warm muffin. Not the end of the world but it really rubbed me the wrong way. Anyway, a word of advice to the lady: be nice to your customers who are paying YOU for great service and food!

My wife and I stopped by the First Street Sidecar location in Cedar Falls this past weekend…read more Unfortunately, this location does not appear on Yelp, so I am leaving a review for the College Hill location (which I have visited in the past). Here are our thoughts below! Food/Drink: Monster Cookie (Yum! This cookie was HUGE, soft, and delicious. Rating = 8/10). Hot Cinnamon Roll Latte (This tasted nearly identical to a warm, gooey, cinnamon roll! Be warned - it is a very sweet beverage. Rating = 7.7/10). Iced Hazelnut Latte (YES! This is basically almost as good as it gets when it comes to a latte. Absolutely scrumdidilyumptious. Rating = 9/10). Service: The service here could not have been better! Our barista's name was Brianna, and she had a phenomenal attitude. She looked excited to help us out and appears to love her job. Her passion for her job truly shined through during our time in the shop. Ambiance: As mentioned above, this review is based on our visit to the First Street location in Cedar Falls. It has a much different vibe than the College Hill location. The First Street location is not quite as "homey" as the College Hill cafe and has more of a coffee chain feel (not as much unique character that I typically enjoy with local coffee brands). The College Hill location, on the other hand, has much more personality. It is an excellent place to get some work done, read a book, or meet up with friends! All in all - we undoubtedly had a 5-star experience at Sidecar this past weekend. Excellent food and drink and some of the best service we've received in a while!
