Very flavorful. Good lunch. Not a fan of instant mashed potatoes but they were good. Hamburger steak was great. Had side salad with ranch. All good.

Cowboy breakfast and pancake specials! Yummy!

Grandkids said 10 out of 10 and they want to come back tomorrow. Naomi's did not disappoint! Great food! Great service. Speedy to the table in time to avoid having anyone in our party hangry! Good size Texas plates.

We love going to local small town restaurants to show support for our local businesses! I've always passed by this place and have been intrigued with what they offered. My husband wanted to try it as well but we weren't sure if it was opened. It was 1:15pm and they close at 1:30pm. The server was incredibly generous, kind and her customer service went above and beyond. I had asked if they were closed and she said Naomi would never turn down a customer. They allowed 2 More parties after us to join and by this time it was about 5 mins to closing. I'm not sure why it closes so early but, who I believes I the owner, talked to some other out of towners and explained she used to close at 2:30pm but we didn't know the reason why. The decorations around the room are designedly Country folk Living! You can tell it's a very laid back atmosphere. You can tell who the locals are from hair observing how comfortable they were just sitting and talking. There's definitely a sense of community here. The place is clean and observes most COVID related concerns except for the gentlemen who brought our food out without a mask. The servers were all wearing Masks and they even ask that you not put your to go drinks on the counter where you pay. If you're particular about hygiene during this time then I'd consider calling ahead and asking. What we ordered: 1.) chicken friend chicken with mashed potato and corn; the chicken was fried perfectly But lacked in a kind of flavor or seasoning. The gravy was a sloppy mess with no flavor and little to no seasoning. The mashed potatoes reminded us of boxed mashed potatoes. It had zero seasoning and the corn was just from a can. It was edible but certainly not a dish I'd coming running back to. 2.) hamburger with fries; the fries, on initial bite, Was amazing. they were seasoned well, crispy and fried perfectly. The only probably I had was one of the following either it was because I ate too many that after a certain number it became too greasy or when it started cooling down, it just didn't taste the same? The burger was cooked well, the bun perfectly toasted. However, the hamburger bun to patty ratio was completely off. The patty was too small for the bread and quite deceitful. It still had a good grill flavor but it certainly Wasn't the best hamburger I've had. If I could have given 1/2 a star more I would have because their service was impeccable! They were so accommodating but the food should also reflect this! Your cooks should Taste their food always! Would I come back? That's hard to say. I'm Not sure because the food should speak As loudly as your servers were (in a positive way).

What a pleasant roadside surprise we experienced at Route 35 Diner…read more On the way to a South Texas Ranch, a group of 7 of us met here to have lunch one Saturday morning. It's very easy to miss while traveling down IH-35 S, because by the time you see the sign "diner", you have passed it by. Although all 7 of us have been right by this place many times over the years, this was a first time experience for the group. In fact, we all failed to realize the diner was even here, as it is also overshadowed by the adjacent service station. The consensus was this was quite the unexpected surprise and each person gave a huge thumbs up for their own meal choice. Personally, I went with the poblano chicken and it was the best I've ever had, which is saying a lot. I believe I ordered this same dish dozens of times in a 60 mile radius and what set it apart was the tasty creamy sauce on top of a very flavorful chicken. The chicken was prepared differently and not the usual stringy stands of breast meat used in other local taquerias. The other dishes from the group were street tacos, shrimp quesadillas, fajitas and even a few with breakfast entrees. We all agreed this place is now on our radar and we are all coming back. A few of the waitstaff did not speak English, which was OK, because a few in our group grew up in Mexico, so the transition was easy. It also gave that authentic feeling that we are in the right place. But please don't let the language gap discourage you because the other helpers spoke English well enough for even the gringos in our group got what they wanted. So owners of this restaurant keep doing what you are doing and if you want to be busting from the seams with business, stick a huge sign in a strategic place and be prepared for more great reviews.

Started with the spinach artichoke dip - creamy, cheesy, and lots of artichokes, spinach, and mushrooms! The chips served with it were fresh, crisp, and had the perfect amount of salt! My husband and I shared our two entrees - the chicken fried pork chop and the pork chop marsala. Both were excellent! The pork was tender and juicy with each dish. And the Marsala sauce was one of the best I've tried! We wish we could have tried more items...but it would be well worth the drive to come back for another visit!

Really frustrating experience tonight…read more We had trouble placing our order online, so we called instead. The phone was answered with "what's up?" Our order was taken at 10:05 PM and we were told it would be ready in about 30 minutes. We arrived around 10:40 PM and the restaurant's open sign was off, chairs were already up, and there were no customers inside, which already seemed odd. When we went in, we were told, "we've been calling you, we were about to eat your food," but we had zero missed calls or voicemails. Then she told us they close at 10 PM. The confusing part is the door, Google, Maps, and online all say Saturday hours are until 11 PM. If they were actually closed, why was our order accepted after 10 PM instead of simply saying they were closed? To top it off, parts of our order were missing as well. Overall, just a very frustrating and unprofessional experience. Clear communication and accurate hours would've avoided this entire situation.

No. Did I know there was a Castroville-favorite restaurant there as well? Also no. We had to try it. Located inside the Alsatian Golf Club's clubhouse is their 19th-hole restaurant and bar: Julianna's Restaurant. Upon entry, you realize the place has been around for some time. It feels very classic San Antonio, with wooden walls accented by tan and white bricks. The restaurant's aged interior gives it a cozy, lodge-like charm. Though the restaurant was pretty busy on a Saturday night, we were seated instantly at a booth that gave me a perfect view of the Georgia-Alabama game on the bar's TV. After nine or eighteen holes, you never know what you're in the mood for. That's why Julianna's has plenty of options: sandwiches, pizzas, pasta, seafood, steaks, and other meat dishes. Our server came by very quickly and got us our drinks, which for me was a tall Saint Arnold Oktoberfest. I had a tough time deciding between two options: a bone-in pork chop or their creamy Cajun pasta. I opted for the bone-in pork chop with a Caesar salad, bacon green beans, and herb rice. My dad got the creamy Cajun pasta, and my mom got the Southwest chicken. It wasn't long until the Caesar salad came out, with huge croutons and a generous helping of dressing. It was excellent to the point my mom wished she had ordered it over her chicken tortilla soup, which she also enjoyed. If you ever order a meat entrée and they stick a steak knife in it, you're in for an ESPN Instant Classic. The pork chop was huge, topped with a house raspberry chipotle sauce. It was tender and cooked well. I'll admit, trying to find the bone versus the pork was a challenge, but I think that was a me issue. I would order it again. As for the sides, the bacon green beans were sneakily running for Sixth Man of the Year, and the herb rice paired with the pork chop quite well. I would go back. The meal was high quality and felt like a hidden gem even for longtime Castroville residents. What a treat. RIYL: Going to golf courses while being very bad at golf.
